Great Prof! I wouldn't have made it through 1000 or 1001 without him....he was hilarious, made class interesting (amazing with math), and actually shows an interest in how well his students do....he was great!

He's a really funny guy...great analogies!! But he can be confusing. He's really smart and sometimes skips steps beacause of it. You need to know something about the topic before hand or you can easily get lost!!

Funniest Prof Ive met so far, simply great in explaining things (but his english isnt the best), if you need anything you can just go right to his office, instant help, if you are having problems, see him, then youll be fine, forget the help center.

Awesome prof. Listen to what he says, follow him in class, and you'll do just fine.

The language barrier is really not as bad as people are making it out to be. Dr. Kuo is a wonderful prof and you'd be lucky to get him. He literally couldn't do more than he already does to make sure that everyone understands before he moves on.

He's unclear at times, but he really cares how well we do in the course. His tests are fairly easy but the assignments are harder and you have to put some thought into them. You have enough patience to put up with his mistakes in simple addition.

He is so funny and such a good teacher! I love his class! He is so smart and really explains things well!

He was very helpful and taught the course very well. He Gives many assignments, some which are somewhat difficult, and few tests which aren't as hard to make up for the difficulty of the assignments. I would reccomend him to anyone interested in Math 1000. One of the best on campus.

He made one of the hardest courses at MUN a breeze. His jokes are awesome, take a lot of pressure off of the course, and he really cares about you understanding what he's teaching. If you have any problems just go to his office and he's always happy to help. You got it?

Great teacher and very funny, but takes way too many marks off for minor mistakes. Also, work in class does not do justice for assignments and tests. Your grade may come down to which test you are given in class, the hard or easy one.

Excellent math prof! Couldn't ask for any better. Makes math easy to understand, goes through lots of examples and explains them well. When the class looks too serious he lightens the mood telling funny jokes. Tests are similar to assignments but kinda long. If you can get this get him. Awesome prof

The best prof for M1050! Sooo funny and soo helpful. He's willing to stay after class everyday. Always tells jokes and his notes are very clear with good examples! His handouts are also very useful. Always asks if everyone understands his examples..."Do you understand, Yes? No!?"

Kuo is an excellent choice for math 1050. No surprises on his tests. If you do the assignments and go to class you should do well. I am not usually an A student and especially not an A math student but I pulled off an A in this course. I also think he is hilarious!!

Derivitave is when your mother chop your head off? Yes or no! Wonderful prof. Is actually truly concerned with your understanding of the material. And whether or not you can see the board! He's crazy about that. And on most other things as well.. he's so cool though. Math is now my fav class.

Tests are based directly on assignments so its pretty straight forward. Tells funny jokes too.

He uses the wierdest analogy (cutting frank and georgina go figure) but he is an amazing teacher. Your listening skills improve 100%. He s very approachable and will help you with anything. Great Teacher

Favorite professor, by far. I look forward going to CZ's class just to hear what joke he'll tell us at the end of class or to hear his weird analogies (Gorgina, Frank,**** Disturbers, Sexy Differentiation, etc). If you started the semester not liking math, you'll come out at the end with a whole new look in it if you had this professor for class.

Very good. Some complain about not being to understand him at times due to his accen, but I find it very easy. He also dislikes the text book, which is good, because the book really is****. The tests and assignments are directly related. Now since I'm running out of characters, I'll end this by saying he's a fun guy and a bad-ass guitar player

Great Teacher. Book is Optional. (I suggest the study guide though) He's Willing to look over Assignments before they're due. Tells Great Jokes. Uses terms like "Shit Disturber" Accent isn't hard to Understand at all. He's in my top2 for favourite teachers in my 2 years at mun so far.

He's a lot better than everyone else is giving credit for. I failed math 1000 with a supposed better prof, and had him for the second term and breezed through it. He uses abstract examples yes, but if you think about them later, they make sense. He's a pretty funny guy, keeps the course interesting, gives good examples and sample assignments.

He was hilarious as a teacher and very helpful. I found the course difficult only because the criteria was hard, it had nothing to do with his teaching style/capability.

By far the best Prof. at MUN. If you have to do math 1001 get this prof and you will get a good mark.

C.Z is awesome!! His english is a little hard to understand for the first while, but you quickly get used to it. He's a very funny and understanding man, very approachable and willing to help students with any problems they have. His analogies and jokes make math easier to understand and definitely much more interesting !!

Best math prof i have ever had. I have never actually wanted to go to math, but he makes it so much more interesting. Try and get him as a prof. I usually struggle with math, but the analogies he uses make evrything much easier to understand.

This prof is great. He takes a little getting used to, with his accent and writing, but once you get that, he's an excellent teacher. Hilarious guy too, so class is usually a good time. Definitly worth getting, and probably isn't the most difficult to understand in the faculty.

C.Z. is an awesome prof. He gives you his full attention and he makes sure you understands material. Tests and assignments are good. You can always go to him for help. Its no trouble to tell that he cares about his students.

CZ is the man..case closed. Great classes, just go to them with and open mind and you understand him. If you don't go to class though..you'll fail the course. Math 1000 final is rough, but that's life, and cz will try to prepare you for it as best he can.

C.Z, amazingly funny, he's a good prof, I reccomend him but the tests weren't that great some really easy stuff with some of the hardest stuff you'll ever see. But the thing is, Calculus II is a hard, involved course so, not doing well is kind of a contant, anyway C.Z is a good guy and he'll help you and he loves questions, I give him about 3/5.

CZ Top! Hes funny, helpful and uses the best examples for to explain difficult concepts. Can be a bit hard to understand at times but is more than willing to repeat.

What is with the CZ hate! He stimulated my interest in math this semester and I did horrible in 1090. I went into the exam with a 97 in calculus this semester because he makes math fun and easy to understand with his jokes! If people say he doesn't give part marks, that is not true! Cz gives marks where it is justified!

The Best Professor I have ever had.

This guy is so funny. He makes analogies for ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING, and, oddly, that helps me remember stuff. I generally like math anyway, but if I didn't, he'd definitely make it enjoyable. He continuously asks to make sure everyone is following what he's saying, and has great teaching methods. If you get a chance to have this guy, take it!! :}

Really good prof. Makes class fun. Explains concepts well and always stops and asks if everyone understands. Assignments are pretty hard but if you go to the labs Kuo and the TA will show you have to do any question. Tests are pretty easy. Test are marked fair and well give partial marks. You must go to class in order to do good.

excellent ,excellent prof in mun.definitely recommend those wishing to get high mark to go for him for math 1001 as he is excellent in teaching, making everything clear....especially his invention of the rule (kenny rogers , turbot rule )will save your life in math 1001. getting 100 % with him in this course isnt impossible at all, strongly recomm

I cannot believe that somebody could write a bad review about such a sweet teacher! CZ insists on being called CZ, Doesn't want you to buy the book, and has weekly assignments that help you keep on track! I loved having CZ as a teacher!

CZ was a half decent teacher.He made class interesting because he is always joking around and has the craziest analogies. However he is a bit hard to understand and notes are sometimes hard to pick out. But, if you like math and are good at it I would recommend him!

His accent takes some getting used to but after a while it's not even an issue. He always has this hilarious bizarre metaphors about the problems, but they're just bizarre enough to make sure you don't forget them. Very hard tests, though. He's a great teacher but I can see someone having difficulty if they are not already strong in math.

Found he was a really good prof. Knew his material well. A bit awkward to approach at first but will help with anything you have questions about. His accent was hard to understand at first but it's easy to pick up on and he makes the class interesting with funny metaphors to remember things.

HILAROUS teacher! a little hard to understand, but likes to play air guitar.. and is a good teacher, hahah. tests are easy and all answers to tests and assignments are posted online.

Kuo is a laugh. He creates rules which are annoying as hell. Compared to some of the other profs that usually teach 1001 Kuo is a godsend. Sometimes, he drives you a bit crazy and you just want him to give you notes instead of examples, but that works too. Derivatives are your mother trying to kill you, integration is your grandpa giving you candy.

Is really good at explaining things and making them easier. However, he does not do enough examples, so additional tutorials may be necessary. He's very funny and easy to listen to. Will give out handouts to make it easier to follow, and doesn't hesitate to help if you don't understand. Would definitely recommend him.

I took Calculus in high school and wasn't a fan of it, but CZ made me love Math again! His funny jokes and interesting analogies always kept me wide awake in class. If someone asks him a question, he goes out of his way to make sure they understand. If you're taking Math 1001, make sure you register for his class!

English is a bit of a problem, but luckily math is mostly numbers. Hilarious prof, pretty laid back. Material is the same as a legit high school calc class.

Best math teacher I've ever had. Hilarious, sincerely wants the best for students; doesn't evaluate unfairly AT all. Willing to help at all times. Genuinely interested in his work and students. Nicest guy ever to the point that people try to take advantage of him, which was the only part I didn't like. :( Take his course and show RESPECT for him!

Very difficult course, go to all classes and labs or you will not understand anything. CZ is very helpful in labs, and if you ask questions in class. His notes are a bit tricky to follow sometimes. He is a bit difficult to understand because of the language, but really wants you to do good and will try real hard to make sure you understand

He is nice and hilarious (although you only laugh at the far-fetchedness of his jokes) it felt like I understood everything in class but when I went to apply it to webassigns/assignments I didn't get it at all. Nice prof, funny, will do everything he can to help but his teaching skills in class aren't good. Don't recommend 100% :(

He is hard to understand at times, for example, "isn't ahhh?" means "everyone got it?" and "Follow, psee" means "look up". But a really great prof! Go to the reviews! They will help!

This man makes calculus so funny! I hate math but I was laughing every class. Course wasn't too bad, just go and pay attention. Seems approachable.

If you think Kuo is an inadequate prof then you simply do not understand calculus! Each class Kuo tells you what you are going to learn, explains the concept, gives ample examples starting with simple ones and ending with difficult ones and then reviews. Would recommend to anyone!

Awesome Prof! at first there is most definitely a language barrier but you pick up on it very fast! you don't need a textbook and you don't have to attend every class. if you miss a few classes in a row he will lend out his notes for you to copy! best thing is jokes on Friday!

Fairly decent prof.

Awesome professor. Very funny and makes the class extremely enjoyable. He sometimes trips over his numbers and gets something wrong but it's usually something small so it's not that confusing. Other than that he is very clear and provides tons of examples. Marks fairly, if a bit on the hard side. Not very approachable or helpful.

Such a great guy!!! Gets the job done but jokes around, too. Although English may not be his first language, he's not all that hard to understand, you just have to get used to the way he pronounces things. Recommend this guy!!

He make math interesting

Kuo is a very nice man and is funny in class. As someone who struggles with math I found this course very difficult with him though. He sometimes doesn't understand what you're asking when you ask a question and though his analogies are funny I didn't find them very useful in remembering what I was doing . Material is difficult but tests were fair.

My favourite prof last semester! You can tell english is not his native tongue but his notes made up for what was lost through speech. Lectures often flew by and he ended class 5 minutes early most days to crack a joke with the class. Oh, and he stopped often to ensure everyone understood the topicanswer questions.

He's my favourite prof since coming to University. Although he is sometimes hard to understand and doesn't answer questions the best, he has hilarious analogies and says really funny jokes at the end of classes that make it all worth it. Tests are fair and he is very reasonable. Final was very hard though. Grade dropped over 20% for most people.

C.Z. is a funny guy, and a great professor. His lectures are informative and well organized, and he's always willing to answer questions. He does have an accent, but it's very easy to get used to quickly. I found his assignments were simple and his midterms a bit more difficult, but nothing too hard for intro calc. He's very funny!
