I enjoyed Ms. Reyes' college algebra class. She provides clear directions and comprehensive test reviews. She is however somewhat fast-paced, for those who can't handle that.
Fiery teacher. She bleeds Algebra. Not for the faint of heart or those with coronary problems. She moves lightspeed, but is very clear. Retards need not apply.
Moves with speed, but easy to understand, explains clearly, and knows how to use technology, TI-86 calculator. Great class,I hope that I can find other math teachers that really explain the concepts.
Taking this professor was rather unfortunate.
this class is fast paced, but she is a very good teacher and explains material very clearly. her tests range from easy to very hard(hardest test is test 3), but if you plan to keep going in math, it is worth it. you really learn the material well in her class
No Comments
In Trig, her reviews sometimes were like the tests and you can get A's if you try hard BUT you WILL NOT GET AN A in this class b/c she FAILS the whole class on test 3, and with NO extra credit and NO curve and the highest grade in class on test 3 being a 70, avg was 15-60 on test 3, you will be lucky with a C! BAD IDEA, go someplace else for trig
She is a a total flake and does not explain things, probably because she doesn't understand them to begin with. She's the kind of teacher who says, "memorize this." I doubt she knows that the term "math theory" even exists. On top of that she is very immature and flippant. Hate having her as a teacher.
After seeing the positive comments, I was looking forward to this class... not anymore. She doesn't explain or answer questions very well if you get her off the prepared lesson plan. I definitley would not take another class of hers.

she goes through stuff pretty fast, but she doesnt care if you are in class or not and there's no graded homework.
She was a good teacher! Got out of class early all the time! Test were pretty easy as long as you listen in class! I definitly recommend her!
Took Ms. Reyes for algebra 1414 (the 4 credit hour) in the Summer- 8 week course. I thought she was clear and though the subject material was difficult at times she was fair and just. People talk smack about her, but I liked her and her energy. She does not curve, give partial credit or extra credit in the summer. Still got an A. Recommended.
Talks too fast and does not like to answer questions.

I <3 Ms. Reyes! Her tests are very comparable to her tests. She teaches fast and grades hard but has always been open to questions. Shows concern for students that actually put forth effort. She always has a positive and uplifting attitude. Be prepared to work hard. I would absolutely recommend Ms. Reyes to any student taking 0099.
I enjoy her class, she is very clear and you learn everything. Definetely worth taking her class.
She is an excellent professor
awesome professor, she understands how to teach the material. one of the best math teachers i have had by far. totally awesome.
She teaches EXTREMLY FAST and grades HARD! I wouldn't reccommend her unless you were a math major. She thinks math is everything. I took her for two years straight so i know her pretty well. She's pretty hard-core in math. If you want something challenging then take her, if you're just trying to pass math, then take someone else! Shes funny though!
This proffessor was great, She was enthusiastic about teaching and explained the material very well, I would recommend her.
She is really good. She can be fast paced but she makes sure every student understands what she is explaining before moving on to the next chapter. She gives a bonus extra credit of 5 points per test... I would take her again, and would definately recommend her!
Took 8-week class. Very in depth for a fast paced class. Ms.Reyes is very clear and really knows her stuff. Gives bonus tests in this class (5 points). Test 4 is the hardest. Ms. Reyes is the best teacher I've had ever and would definately recommend her to anyone who is willing to work hard and wants to understand the course (not just pass).
Trig is the hardest math course I've ever taken. If it wasn't for Ms. Reyes' teaching ability, I would never have passed the course. Test three is REALLY HARD!!! I was glad I took the 8 week class because she gives bonus tests for extra credit. Ms. Reyes is the best and the class is fun. I'm going to miss being in her class.

GREAT TEACHER!!!
Great Teacher, take her!
You really need to keep up with your work in this class. She goes fast but explains everything. The test are just like the review! She is the best math teacher on this Campus!!
awesome teacher!! Her teaching method helped me to understand everything. Homework is not mandatory, but if you do it, it will help you understand the material better. She goes pretty fast, but dont be afraid to ask questions!
She's nice enough that she will explain it more than once if you still don't fully understand. Plus she will allow you to come to her office if needed. Although she is not hard on attendance it pays off if you show up. Plus if you don't come to class she won't help you later you will have to go to the math lab. You have to show her that you care.

I highly recommend this professor. she is very clear at teaching and will help you understand what you don't.She is a nice person and if you do your part in studing, you will make an easy A like i did!
Dr.Reyes, is the teacher I would recomend to anyone. If you wanna past math you musht take this class with Dr. Reyes. She really believes in oportunities and that is what students need in order to succeed in college.
She's knows how to explain calculus if you are not very good with calculus already. She is very helpful. HW is not required, but the tests come from the HW. No curves on the test but she gives bonus qu. on tests.
I took a math class with her online...terrible experience. She did not seem interested in answering questions at all, she told me to find it on my own! Would NOT recomend
She is the best math teacher I had ever had! I took college algebra with her, it was amazing it was so clear! I was taking 3 other classes and I never got lost. I recommend her to anyone taking a math class. One more thing, do NOT take her classes online, they are NOT easy. Overall, I wish she could be my math teacher forever.
GREAT TEACHER. She has her PH.D and really knows what she is doing. Also, she likes to make if fun, so if you tend to zone out in math, I highly suggest taking her class. Hands down best math teacher at brookhaven. Although, she does not seem very interested in answering any questions through email.
I'm really bad at math and took her for Spring flex term. Homework doesn't count for a grade but she still requires it. She also gives extra credit if you finish all of the assignments before the exam. She responds to emails quickly and the practice tests are a big help.
Great teacher, made college algebra a piece of cake. Took it during summer.
I'm taking two courses in one semester. It's fast paced and we meet M, W, R & F. Dr. R keeps it fast and interesting, yet she slows it down if its needed. She's enthusiastic. Attendance isn't taken, but if you're not there you miss info she won't go over again. Once you prove you are a committed student, she'll stand by you and help you.
I've never had any contact with her. This is basically a self-taught class where you're on your own to teach yourself the math. If you're good at math, that's ok, but if not, this is NOT the class for you.
I have mixed feelings about this teacher. I think she means well and she is sincere. However I had issues with getting questions answered during class and I found myself ignored most of the time even when raising my hand and saying my question out loud. And after class, the students seem to converge on her with questions.
The class wasn't bad, I mean it was difficult at times, but not not bad at all. I took her class online and got an A. The test weren't bad, but in my opinion they were long... You can get an easy A if you take the practice test and take notes and practice, practice!!!!
Ms. Reyes was an amazing teacher for me. This was my first dual credit course and she really made a great impression on me. She taught well, showed a sense of humor, and was always there to help if you needed her to.
I loved this woman from the first day of class. She makes a clear effort to treat her students like adults (which means they also must stand on their own two legs). Doesn't get mad if you skip or come in late but you miss info and shortcuts that she won't tell you next week. Ask other students for help if she doesn't want to give you the answer.
Using my math lab and attending her class will help a lot and her reviews are similar to the test
I took Dr. Reyes for math 1314 during a May-mester online. The way her online class is set up is extremely easy. You do all your homework and test on MymathLab. She has reviews available and they are very similar to the test. I highly recommend her. If you ever have any questions she replies to your emails very fast.
A great professor. Took Trig in the summer. I'm not the biggest fan of math, but she actually made it interesting and explained everything thoroughly. She does not have mandatory attendance & the final replaces your lowest test grade. She gives you a review that has similar problems to the test.
I hate math, but Professor Reyes made this semester a blast. She's hilarious and makes it a great experience. Show up, do your homework, and study the exam review guides.
Test every week, reflecting on the homework. Work was due the night before tests open up, and there would be about 4 or 5 assignments per week. Quizzes and tests were challenging but not hard.
Makes the class fun and enjoyable. Actually makes it worth the trip to Brookhaven every Monday and Wednesday morning. Would take any class that she teaches.
Trig class. She explains things clearly and expects you to do the work. Gives you plenty of time to finish the homework. She makes the classroom relaxed and fun and though the tests are tough, if you come to class, do the homework and study, it's not impossible.
Great class, lots of homework but professor gives plenty of time to complete.
She is by far my favorite college professor. She's hilarious, approachable, very knowledgable and gives you practically until the end of the semester to turn in the homework. Study the review she gives for the tests and you will easily pass. Great professor I really do recommend her!
No homework. Easy A if you solve your reviews. Don't need to come to class. But there are some pop up quiz. She is easy professor.
Precal. Take this class to prepare for calc! Sit at the front to get a good view of board, she teaches quickly. Makes you understand the concepts. Gives very similar review to test and math lab will help a ton! Lecture notes will help with review Test. Made class fun and not boring. Will give trig quizzes, but let you know ahead of time. Shes great
I took her Math 1332 course, I'm the worst at math!!! from taking her course, I learned much more and better. She drop's your lowest test and quiz grade, with the homework and quizzes I did them ahead of time. There's a lot of question's and you need a 70 to move on. She also offered extra credit in the final that was very helpful!
She is really funny!!! Her class was easy but you have to study! She gives you a review before the tests! Best math teacher ever!!!
One of the best math teachers ever!! I love how she explains things, and does not mind taking the time during and after class to explain something when you don't get it. She gives extra credit for tests and reviews are a good idea of what to focus on for the test. Very energetic and excited about what she does. Thats what makes her so AWSOME!!
Get to class ON TIME with this professor -- there are Trig Review quizzes for her Pre-Calculus classes from the second week onward. Know and review your material from previous courses before taking this course with her and you'll be absolutely fine. Very vigilant and knowledgeable, so READ and DO THE RECOMMENDED PROBLEMS and you'll get an EASY A )
Overall, she is a good professor, lovely lady with a good sense of humor. Class is not boring. Just couldn't pick up on her style. If you are ok with math and catching the material fast - take her. If you are a slow learner, who needs more thorough explanation - you might want to look for someone else. But you do need to study a lot!
Took pre calc class and finished early. Not that it was easy, i put in the time and work. Use the vids provided in MML, ebook, and PPoint. appx 30 or so HWs that are fairly easy is if you pay attention to practice material. 4 unit exams and 1 final. solve HWs clearly w/notes so u understand them later. u will refer back to old HWs when doin exams
This professor is not helpful at all. You ask her to explain a homework problem( i couldn't understand even after doing the"help me solve this feature" ) and she simply referred me back to MML. She doesn't teach, MML does! She's also not very pleasant to talk to. I won't be taking her again
i cried taking this class. the quizzes and tests were the worst They're timed and theres so much reading i seriously could not finish before time was over. As for the homework, those are so easy, it is a lot of reading and work but its easy and its not timed so its fine. i don't recomend at all.
The professor seemed very nice. One great thing about this online class was that the tests and sample tests gave plenty of time to double and triple check my work.
I took Math 1332 online for the summer, and honestly its a little hard, I really wouldnt recommend to take it online, face to face seems much easier. Its all on my labs plus so its jot necessarily the professor teaching. HOWEVER she can be condescending and rude if you email her. I would take the course again just not with her.
Im just basing this off emails but she was very rude. Im enrolled but Im planning to look for another teacher.
Not a very helpful teacher. Will often make you feel stupid for asking questions or making mistakes. Found her to be very condescending and even rude to students at times. The material is not too difficult, but I found her lectures and teaching style too all over the place. Her sense of humor would be funny in a different setting.
Gave a ton of homework every week. Would not recommend taking unless this is the only class you are planning to take and have nothing else to do.
I like this professor! She knows what she is doing just pay attention and practice the math problems. She is straight forward with her lectures and goes super fast between each section of a chapter. Does gives you a heads up on quizzes. I wished she taught calculus!!
A good professor who knows what she is teaching, but her behavior can sometimes bother. Not very helpful if a student asks questions.
Dr. Reyes is a wonderful teacher who engages the classroom and knows what she is doing. She is very knowledgeable in math and it shows because she instills a great foundation in her students. She will want you to learn and remember many concepts and that's fine because it will come back for future math classes.
I took the online algebra class, there are multiple quizzes, homework, and a test each week. Unless you already know and are really good at algebra do not take this class. The so called "teacher" does nothing for you and expects you to learn everything through the lessons the book offers, which really aren't that helpful. Take my advice please!
I took TRIG in the summer and it's not an easy subject, especially when you have to teach yourself. If you're not good in math, do not take this class online. The hw was the most challenging part of this course, but the exams are easy "IF" you understand how to do the hw. Overall, I had to work hard get an A, if you don't try, you will not pass.
Professor Reyes was a really good math professor. I really liked her teaching style and her humor. Get the textbook-ebook or actual copy- and show up for class. The only I didn't like is that we had to use My Math Lab for homework, which doesn't reflect on her. If I needed more math credits for my degree, I would definitely go for one of hers!
Her way of grading is a bit harsh. If you ask her to reopen assignments or quizzes because you had an emergency and could not do the them on time, she tells you to reread her syllabus and tell her what her grading policy is on late work instead of just saying no. I would not take this class ever again!
There was not one single communication from the professor other than monthly email on what was due. Calculus is a beating to begin with, and very disappointed that I had to self teach. Zero teaching, I mean ZERO teaching from the teacher. Pay for a Chegg account and add professor to your own resume, because you're about to teach yourself calculus.
Whenever she was asked a CLEAR question for clarity she tells you to refer to the syllabus even though you have. Hence that is the reason you are asking the questions you are asking. Communication is poor. Used WebAssign and it was a great tool to learn from. Homework everyday for the 1st month then every other day for the remaining and 5 Test.
Homework is given out on every lesson. Takes less than 2 hours to complete but if you procrastinate, you'd have a big pile at the end of the semester. Tests are a big portion of your grade. Great teacher, asks students what times are best to meet up and communication is well. Honest about the work. Amazing teaching but moves really fast in class.
Professor Reyes is very good at teaching math, she moves quickly but is very straight forward. Do the homework and come to class and you'll be okay. She is very focused on student motivation, I appreciated her witty humor.
Great at teaching and will help you as long as you put in the effort.
She responds to emails but does not give time extensions or partial credit for mistakes, even technical errors due to online problems. The class has a lot of hw and be warned if you take 8 week course it is fast paced!
I took Professor Reyes class for Maymester. Very fast paced, but because it was only 3 weeks long. She responded to my emails quickly and was very understanding on giving an extension for a quiz due to the website being "under maintenance". Just stick to her due dates and you'll be fine!
Lots of homework even for a regular semester so I would not recommend her for a accelerated semester. She uses MML for HW, quizzes, and exams and she does not use Lockdown Browser or ProctorU for exams.
This professor gives way too much homework, and all of it is mandatory.
Too much useless homework.
AMAZING!! I really looked forward to coming to her class. She is really funny and makes math fun. I always struggled with math and this is the only time where I felt like I understood something. There is a lot of homework, but it teaches you and it provides good note material. Write the examples down, and you'll get an A. Period.
Hands down my favorite mathematics professor ever. She was easy to understand, engaging, & took the time to listen to the class and gave us the opportunity to really absorb the content. Most professors are dry and so to the point if you don't something you right away you start to fall behind but not with her. I'm wasn't a math person but now I am!
She really takes the time to get to know all of her students. She makes lectures funny by relating topics to real life situations. She takes these concepts and tries to explain them in a easy way.
I had her class back in the fall semester, but she gave us manu extra credit opportunities and gave us a day off to go to the state fair. While it was the morning and not many people were talkative she really would bring that energy. I also took her again in the spring semester later in the day and it made a huge difference.
Do not take this professor for online classes. You get zero instruction. It's just slogging through my math lab figuring everything out yourself. Due dates are HORRENDOUSLY planned, with multiple things due every single day rather than the traditional everything due Sunday that every other online professor uses. Impossible for working students.
Professor Reyes is an amazing lecturer!! She doesn't do slides or note, it is all her writing it our on the board which worked far better for me. Just try your best, put in effort, engage, and attend class you will absolutely do fine. Highly recommend Prof Reyes!!
Professor Czarina is engaging and makes lectures fun. She takes the time to ensure students understand the concepts. While the workload is heavy, using Unstuck ai alongside the textbook can really help grasp the material.
Fast pace, don't miss class. I would recommend doing the homework before class. She has everything unlocked so if you understand the material, you can move ahead. I did my final over a month before class ended so I no longer have to go to class. She basically only does lecture in class and all the work is on your own time at your own pace.
I took this in a 4 week winter course, so lots of homework almost daily. Videos within textbook aren't that great or related much to homework content, so use MLM resources. Test reviews are almost exactly like the actual test, with some questions having different variables but some are exact. Tests not proctored.
She is an amazing teacher. She responds to email promptly, and allows for tests/ quizzes to be taken without any proctoring.
Amazing teacher was able to work with me until the very end 100% would take again.
Amazing professor even helped me when there were technical difficulties going on with my account she was patient and allowed me to succeed.
oh my god what an UNDERPAID professor. The amount of care and thoughtfulness and joy she has is absaloutley unexplainable. she will advise you or real world problems and will help you with your career and dont get me started on how well she explains!! i HATE math, retook algebra 5 times in HS and passed with a 95 AND actual knowladge!!! LOVE HER
TAKE HER! As someone who hates math and struggles with it she makes it so easy, she cares soo much like shell go out of her way and advise you on your major. shes so smart! shes so full of life!! And best of all, the homework, tests, and quizzes are all on my math lab which were very easy.
