If you read ahead of time and come to class prepared, you'll have a "great" time. No joke. Just don't bug the guy about his accent lol
No Comments
I am not a fan. And I would not reccomend this teacher to my worst enemy! If you do take a class with him, I would suggest taking one that is 2 days a week, because in my 3 hour class he spent a lot of time complaining about how there wasn't enough time!
He's a great teacher! Just come to class prepared, answer his questions and he'll love you. Always prepared tells you exactly what he wants and extremely helpful. He has an accent but he knows that so he writes certain words on the board lol. Awesome teacher and easy class! Treat him with respect and come to class prepared & you're guaranteed an A
Course itself was easy, but I was extremely let down by the competence of the teacher. The class I was most looking forward became the opposite. The others are right, he ALWAYS complained about the lack of time! We ended up not finishing the entire course! He also thinks it's okay to give a paper back with NO written comments to justify his grading!
The material in this class is extremely easy but he teaches it as it it's complicated. His classes can drag on a lot but he's a decent teacher and his tests are easy. All you have to do is skim over the chapters and listen in class to get an A. I would recommend him to lazy people who don't enjoy a lot of studying, reading, and work in general.
Not the best teacher around. If you honestly want to coast through, then take his class. He doesn't cover all the material and then puts it on his tests. The class requires participation, so raise your hand to answer questions or make points a few times and you should be okay.
wicked teacher. as long as u read the chapter a few times before the test you'll be fine
One of the GREATEST proffesors you can take really easy to pass his class he even gives you marks for basically comin to class n being part of the conversations. you will actually look forward to going to his class!!! the only problem would be his accent but if u read the book youll do great =D if you can TAKE HIS CLASS!!!
Very qualified and know's what he's talking about!
Cares about his students and wants them to understand.
Decent guy, but really does care too much. If you miss a class he interrogates you to find out why you missed it. constantly complains about the lack of class participation and how he doesn't want to talk all the time. expects a paper to make up a multiple choice test and is unclear about what he wants on his term paper.
Definitely one of the best! Dr. Adebayo is one of the most helpful professors I've ever met. If you miss a class, he will ask where you were, not to interrogate, but to make sure you're alright. He cares about his students and will do anything in his power to make sure you understand what you're learning. TAKE HIS CLASS IF YOU CAN! He's the best!
BEST INSTRUCTOR EVERRR!!! he has an amazing personality and is a very polite and caring person. You gota do the readings and participate in the discussions during class and you're guaranteed an A.Good GPA booster if you are willing to do the assigned readings. Highly Recommended.
he is terrible
Bad prof, course is quite easy to be honest but the main concern is his personality. on the surface he seems nice only if you don't ask him anything, but when you try to ask him help or clarification about something.. you can then see the 'true' side of him, very rude, mean & unhelpful with subjective opinion. It's pain in the Axx to go to his clas
BEST TEACHER! he is soo funny and so nice. his class is a great GPA booster. besides that he is wiling to help you and not much is req'd. just go to class do the easy assignments and participate!
By far one of the easiest Prof's at KU. He gives away 13% in HW, WRK sheets and participation. I don't know how people can do poorly in his class. He does help your GPA, mine went from 3.1 to 3.36. All tests MC and he goes over the actual questions during class so you should get 15-20 right even if you don't open your book. This guy well help you.
Easiest and Nicest Prof. His english isn't the greatest, but he realizes this and will gladly repeat things if you ask. His explanations are so easy to understand, and he gives lots of bonus marks! Easy marker, great prof!!
Good teacher, questions where students are when class is missed, but not rude about it. (just say something funny). wants to ensure student success.. got a decent mark with out studying or trying to any excessive amount.. do bonus marks and labs as they help. however, was upset becuase didnt allow me to write an essay for bonus marks though promise
I LOVE HIM! he is adorable! great class, i learned alot!
He is a great teacher, he really engages the class. I do really poorly on MC (C's) but I talked in class a bit and ended with a B. He is one of the few excellent profs left.
Super easy! he is very nice and he is very helpful! Exams are pretty much the same as every other 1200 class. Pay attention in class and review chapters before exams and you will do just fine. I didnt do much outside of class and still got a B+. participation is the key!
he is ok, tests are little bit confusing but all M/C. assignment that he hands out on random days and they are worth marks so make sure you attend. one group presentation and one small paper. hes easy.
BEST PROF EVER! GPA booster!
I enjoyed this teacher because he made the more complicated content comprehensible. He seems to care for his students. Adebayo was also funny. Would recommend.
Easy GPA booster. Gotta make sure that you attend class otherwise you will lose participation marks. One of the greatest professors and also VERY easy. Def. recommend.
Adebayo is a really easy prof. I missed a lot of classes because he posts his slides online so i just reviewed those for the test.. i barely studied for any tests and ended up with a C+. I'm sure if u attend class anyone can easily get a great grade, i was just lazy. However, he's really unclear on what he wants for projects, & not really helpful.
First off, extremely hard to understand because he cant speak English properly and when you ask him to repeat what he has said he just laughs at you. Secondly, his entire slides are based off of the text book he literally reads out of the text..does not give clear instructions for projects... pretty bad teacher this class was such a waste of time.
He has a thick Nigerian accent, but if you can overcome that, you're good to go. He slides are based off the text, and he posts them online. He gives some homework and his in class lecture actually helps alot. He tends to favour people but isn't mean or anything. He's actually the nicest teacher I've had!
awful. total crap. total waste of time and gpa drop. he is totally incomprehensible, its not just his accent but he really does not have a firm grasp of the English language. the tests are easy and the assignments are simple but he takes attendance every class so you stick it out through the lecture which makes no sense, skip this professor. SUCKS!
Very hard to understand! His tests were confusing and he takes his questions apparently from the test bank. Class average for first and second midterm is 50%. Would not recommend him. Nice guy though!
lectures about random stuff.. personal stories that have nothing to do with the course material. gets his tests from the text book test bank, so you must teach yourself. the coures itself was pretty easy tho. pretty nice guy as well... ohkayy...
I took a 2nd psych class with Adebayo, and I did better the second time because I knew what to expect. His lectures are straight off his slides which he posts so you don't really have to go to class, but he takes class attendance for participation marks, so you should go. His tests are all 80 MC very repetitive. Boring but very easy class.
Take Him!He is SO EASY! Really nice guy yes it is hard to understand at first but you get use to it:)I got B's on his tests and still got an A in the class :D Final project is soo Easy I wish he taught 1100:(
Very Great. Very Beautiful. Yes my beloved.
Adebayo is a very easy and super nice teacher, he is very understand with assignments late. All his tests are multiple choice 3 tests at 15% and 1 test at 10%, you get 15% Homework, 10% participation, and 5% doing labwork, and then one project at 15%. You would have to be stupid to not pass his class, easy GPA booster!
I would definitely recommend taking his class. He is helpful and super super nice. His exams are straight forward, no surprises. Read the textbook and attend classes and you'll do greeat!
Dada is an very easy marker, but the test questions can be confusing at times. He is kind, and cares about his students. However, if you ask disagree with something he is saying he interprets it as confusion and simply repeats what he just said. As well, if you really are confused he will say "don't worry, it is fine." It's not a language barrier.
GPA booster for sure~follow the textbook and do the multiple-choice question in study guide~then you will do fine~However, he never reply email and his instruction about assignments are unclear. You can not get feedback until the very last end.Make sure you speak in class otherwise you can only get an A even you get over 90% in the exam~
awesome
Hard to understand when giving lectures and attendance is only mandatory due to participation marks. 4 tests in total (multiple choice). Just read the chapters in the textbook and its a B.
100 MC questions for all 3 midterms. The exams are right out of the test bank and there are even repeat questions. He is quite disorganized and either doesn't prepare for class or does not have a good grasp on what would be helpful info to share with students. Did not have a good experience in his class. Would NOT recommend him.
Pretty easy class. Got a B+ on the midterms without cracking the textbook. Some clarity issues and confusion regarding assignments and test criteria though.
Adebayo is a great guy. Class requires a bit of work: 4 M/C tests and small assignments that you supposed to hand in throughout the term. Reading the textbook is also mandatory if you want to do well. If you put the effort, A- is guaranteed. For those who wants to take it as an elective, this course is not a walk in the park. I would recommend :)
wow,i took this class from recommendations on here.Do NOT take this prof.VERY unorganized,3 tests worth 60, the first two worth 25, has hw assignments but doesnt hand them back. Youll be in the dark about grades the whole term and then he passes around a grades sheet during the final.material is easy, but i self taught from textbook. wouldnt recmnd.
Such an easy class with the few tests we did get they were all multiple choice and easy as long as you read the text book. Picked on people in the class though and is super rude
The class itself is easy. I'm sure with a different prof, you could get the same good grade, and you might also actually learn something and enjoy yourself, because with Adebayo, even though you'll get a good grade, you'll get bored or even confused in his class lectures and will probably get embarrassed by him bc he just loves picking on people
This one time, no one in class understood a concept he was teaching bc he was honestly making no sense. He got frustrated that no one understood it and instead of explaining it in a different way, he just gave up and changed the subject. If you call that teaching, and you don't like to learn, then go ahead and take him, but RELY ON THE TEXTBOOK.
Dada Adebayo is a great teacher! Participation matters so if you attend class and read the textbook you will do great in the class! His lectures are amazing and the small assignments he gives help with understanding the concepts better. Enjoyed this class and recommend it to others.
Annoying. DONT TAKE HIM. HE DISRESPECTS YOU. NO CRITERIA, SUBJECTIVE MARKING, NO GUIDELINES. 2 PAPERS FOR 1 PERCENT EACH. THESE ARE 5 PAGES. ANNNOYING
WORST PROFESSOR EVER. He clearly does not respect women as he constantly talks down and makes sexual references and speaks to how women shouldn't sleep with multiple partners. I honestly do not understand how he still has a job at all. I was disgusted by things he said weekly.
Didn't give students an outline for paper. tests are tricky but you can get decent marks if not good. confrontational as a lecturer and will regularly call on students and make them feel guilty for not speaking up. would not recommend
He is a very generous and kind hearted person. He will help if you ask for it. Attend lectures and make sure you do any assignments he gives you. If you are confused ask him to clear it up because he will! If you got a low mark because you were confused he will allow you to redo it. Try your best to participate in class he loves that!
All of the exams are basically from the text. His lectures are just a reiteration of the book. He really values participation, so if you raise your hand, he'll be on your side. In presentations, DO NOT READ off of anything. He will cut you off and go to the next person.
I do not recommend thiS professor. He gives his students hard time as His teaching techniques are quite different from what you expect from a westernized professor. exams are database so its hard, expects a lot from class presentation, he'd stop you if he doesn't like what your saying, not very clear on what he wants from assignments. hard markr
Really nice guy who is genuine. His accent may be a bit heavy at first and difficult to understand, but you get used to it. Tests are all multiple choice.
he has an accent so had few language issues. Classes are quite boring and he only interacts with those students who raises their hands in class. For some students he will ask how are they doing how's their life going and for other students he does not even bother to remember their names . Read your book and notes you will pass.
I took Psych 3200 & 4500 with Dada; I have also taken consumer psych and social psych with him. You can get an easy A if you participate in class and read the chapters thoroughly. For psych 3200, all his tests were from the test bank whereas for 4500, his tests were mostly on class notes-- material that's not in the textbook. Overall, good prof!
He is a caring prof and a nice human being. He enjoys what he teaches. Sometimes it takes a while for him to get in the go zone and move from one subject to another and therefore keeps repeating himself. Asks good questions from the class and uses real life examples to explain the concepts. Using videos for the subject matter would be good too.
took 3 classes with him, you can get an A+ if you show up, study for exams & participate in class (he will LOVE you if you participate) Hes really kind and caring. His accent is not a huge deal, you get use to it after. It may seem like hes rude sometimes but hes really not, his intentions are good. I would recommend him to anyone.
Very nice man, genuinely wants to see his students do well. Very understanding that his accent is hard for some people to understand and will take the time to talk slower or describe something in a different way or write it on the board (though not the best handwriting) so that you understand.
He's a nice guy and is passionate about what he teaches, but he is not good at teaching it. He gets sidetracked during his lectures very easily and will start writing on the whiteboard or talking about his personal life instead. I'm likely going to take this course again w/ another teacher to see if I can get a better mark.
Just finished his class for Psych 1200 and as long as you keep on top of your work with assignments and the 4 exams, you'll do fine! First 3 exams are 50% and the last one is 10%. I highly recommend you do extra credit which is 2% and showing up for class every week. Do participate since he likes that and overall, would take him again!
He's a generally nice, funny guy but he is almost impossible to reach outside of class. Has been known to tell students that he "ignored" their email and often expects a level of respect that he isn't willing to give. Would not take him again. A lot of people found he over-explained things to the point where they didn't make sense.
comes off very sweet & caring for the first couple of classes but soon you'll realize that he is manipulating & rude. If you have a different view on something he WILL not try to understand where you're coming from... he will tell you that you're wrong. loses handed in assignments and blames it on the student. Compares students in front of others.
If you don't do well with accents then don't take this course. I'm sure he is an ok prof but I had a lot of difficulties understanding what he was saying. He also does not answer emails at all.
He is very rude and partial. If you do not show interest in first couple of weeks he will start ignoring you even you ask questions in the class or go to meet him in office .He needs to learn some Canadian etiquettes as he will treat you are not activeHe is one of those professors who likes buttering. if you can not do that please do not take him .
The course outline is not too heavy, his exams are incredibly easy. However, I wouldnt take this prof again. If he doesnt like you, hell make sure you know. Hell dismiss students questions if he thinks its stupid and he does favouritism. He was nice the first day but started to be rude and a bit mean towards the end.
This professor may seem to be friendly. However, during the final class presentation, he had a tendency to cut off the speaker in order to move onto the next group, which I found was quite rude. It may also be a bit difficult to communicate with him since... -English is not his native language -He hardly responds to any of the students' emails.
There's no final, just test every three weeks on the last two chapters, all multiple choice. Three really easy assignments. Lectures were great. Read the chapter before the lecture and answer the questions he asks and he'll love you. Pay attention because stuff he says in lectures end up on a test even if it's not in great detail in text. Great guy
This is a quarantine review. From what I see Dada Adebayo is a dedicated professor. He makes live lectures to further teach the course material though you have to read the textbook for the multiple choice tests. A group and individual project is assigned and the group presentation is not a possibility so that wasn't done.
Explains things very poorly, just read the textbook and ignore him. He is awful at responding to e-mails and doing anything outside of class. He seems nice enough but I would not choose him to be my professor.
You can barely understand him, he is entitled and despises you if you ask questions, and he will make fun of you if you don't participate. Enough said, avoid this one.
I've taken him before for Industrial and Organizational psychology, and I honestly tried to avoid doing an online class with him. His in person lectures for my previous class were super hard to follow since he stays on the same slide, and classes are useless as he doesn't spend any time in his lectures teaching about stuff that will be on tests.
My class was all online. Although the class was easy to pass and very interesting, he was impossible to get an email response from. No exams, tests every two weeks and then never see the material again. One small project and a group paper. I would take again!
Very light and easy workload. You can tell he wants all his students to succeed. Doesn't make anything more complicated than it has to be.
1) He does not respond to emails. 2) He is not good with Moodle. 3) He sets strange due dates. Ex. weekly discussion due Sunday @ 10am, but class is on Wednesday? 4) He tests on subjects that he doesn't cover in his notes or in the readings. 5) online lectures don't have slides, you just listen to him talk. 6) "My goal is you learn, not pass."
Really shows students that if there isn't any pain there won't be gain. All tests are multiple choice so if you study a lot, then you will do well. Usually takes a while to respond, as I find it difficult to get a hold of him. Doesn't really use his slides so content gets confusing after an hour in of class (if its online).
Great prof! If you pay attention, attend, participate, and hand in all your assignments on time, he will definitely like you. His tests are not bad and all the material is from the lecture slides & textbook readings. I heavily recommend that you read the online textbook chapters as they are very helpful. All of his tests are multiple choice!
This class wasn't terrible - if you attend classes and participate he will like you! His instructions were never clear, particularly for the group project. Even when I asked for clarification on a section, all the groups got it wrong. Besides that, there are 3 tests every two chapters which are pretty easy if you review, and there is no final.
Doesn't reply to emails for weeks and when I asked him about the question in class, he said I was wasting his time. But he wasted a whole week by not replying. Talked very rudely. Tries to be friendly in class, but is not helpful at all. Course syllabus was wrong. Says that students blame his accent for things, but that is not the issue at all.
Lectures are waste of time. Only likes students who attend class, rude to everybody else. Doesn't reply to emails. When I asked a question he said I was wasting his time. Seems friendly but is not a nice person at all. The textbook was my only teacher, not him. Due dates are weird on Moodle with dates of the past years and says "ignore those"
Not only will he take days to respond to emails but he also is not empathetic at all towards his students. He will have the power point on screen yet refuse to read any of it and instead attempt to explain everything himself by going on barely understandable tangents. This entire class is self taught, so get ready to read on ur own time.
LOVED this professor. Charming guy, lectures were long but very enjoyable! Only gave us a few assignments and we only had 3 tests, non-cumulative. Genuinely one of the best experiences I've had at KPU. If you're passionate about psych, he will for sure inspire you. Attendance isn't mandatory however it is part of your participation grade!
He often rants about topics unrelated to the subject of the class, and he sometimes is very rude to students who don't participate in discussions. Although there is a mark you get for being in class, he uses the class time horrible and is not helpful in teaching the subject, it would be better to just use the textbook.
It is an easy course, BUT you teach yourself the whole semester. He does not know what he is talking about and the course materials. His lectures are confused and short, usually 1-2 hours. If you want to learn psychological knowledge, do not choose his class!
Attendance is mandatory and tests are heavily based off of the text book. His class is just all lectures but he's entertaining so its not that boring. He's also very disorganized and rushes through lectures which makes it hard to follow and you'll probably need to self-teach a bit. Easy class if you just read the textbook and attend class.
He is caring towards his students however he does not go off of his slides in lectures, tends to go off the topic many times. His course is easy but it is you teaching yourself your test mostly come from the textbook but he will not tell you what to read. He is hard to get a hold of outside of class time will not reply to emails at all.
Not a horrible class, but the professor makes a lot of generalizations based on his own values and experiences. I felt he often contradicted the messages he was trying to relay. There is also a lack of organization which made certain lectures and final group presentations feel rushed. You're also teaching yourself most of the material...
OK class- Kind and funny. Tests all MC, but class avg 60. PowerPoints confusing and notes didn't match lectures- challenging since you will teach yourself a lot. Wont respond to emails, not super knowledgeable on facts, bit insecure. Thick accent can be hard to understand. Attendance marked. Don't buy textbook—can get it online free or not at all.
Would take again
For an online course, there was mandatory lectures that lasted the full class time each week. He is passionate about course topics. There was 3 exams, an individual project, and a team project. Online exams are relatively easy, projects are marked harshly. Easy to complete online. Lectures are heavily on example of concepts, may rant about topics.
