this teacher suckzzz!!!! cant speak english!!! 40 out of 60 people failed with grades in the 30s and 40s!! MUST I SAY MORE
Average midterm grade is 54, English is not one of his strengths. He doesn't have a clue on how to explain the info. Just writes on the board half the class and says its "self explanatory". Gives Aplia, lab hw, short answer tests. Every other Bus 241 just gives 2 mult choice tests. Don't take this guy.
Prof. Hwang is not very good at elaborating. He struggles with words as he tries to explain. English is not very good. Most of his students failed the midterm. If you want to learn something about finance, do not take this Prof.
This prof. seems passive aggressive. He has no control over the students in class. His homeworks, lectures, and tests are all different from each other. Don't let his soft spoken demeanor fool you as he is a HARD and INCONSISTENT grader. The class has no structure and labs are a joke. You will do better if you read the textbook (which is good).

This guy doesnt know his left hand from his right. Like the other post said. His Lectures, HW's, and Tests all have different material! I'm sure I did ok in the class, ONLY because I read the book on my own. This guy needs to streamline his operation BADLY. It almost looks like he confuses himself during class. Watch out!

Take him if u wanna challenge yourself. HW, aplia and tests are hard. His lectures don't help.
I am still taking this class and trust me I would not wish it on my worst enemy. If you are foolish enough to even register the first thing you will notice is his thick accent that is made even worse by a verbal tic where he says ok all the time. Now imagine that voice just reading the text book for hours and not adding anything. That is the class.
I dont think his english can handle Business 24x classes but you can definately get an A for his Econ 101 and 102 classes He gives all most all questions of exam in exam reviews questions and also case study similar to homework. Not much work on aplia compared to other class. What you need is to study the whole class by yourself
He is generally a helpful and nice prof, very smart. I enjoyed the class overall but sometimes can't understand him due to his accent.
I don't think I've learned a single thing from this professor. He DOES NOT SPEAK ENGLISH...literally. His tests are easy enough, his homework is do-able, and his tests are easy enough to cheat on/cram for. I only went because my class had hot women to look at. Be prepared to teach yourself a fairly difficult topic.
I really liked this course. Prof Hwang made it easier by handing out lots of material and explaining every detail of the book. I still read the book, but he helped. I found his English to be fine. So he has an accent; big deal. He was the most fair and nicest professor I ever had. I am pretty sure I'll get an A based on the exams. Take him!!

The worst professor I have ever had, to put it nicely. He cant speak English, all he does is comes in and starts writing. Then he goes over what he wrote by reading it. His tests are extremely hard and have nothing to do with what he teaches. His Aplias are very time consuming. Mostly everyone in the class fails. Only good thing is that he curves.

Write a lot of notes on the board and then tried very hard to explain them. Relies on textbook a lot. Aplia was a waste of time. Homework was mandatory but the level of understanding it depends on how good he teaches the topic. Exams extremely hard. Don't miss class! Would reccommend for someone who can handle high work load.
It is possible to get an A in this class. You just have to devote hours of studying on the multiple choice questions alone. The top students spent a whole week studying the MC Q's alone. Then you have to teach yourself the math (he'll post the solution set)Then read the book for the analtical questions.If you have a question he isn't helpful.
He is okay. He will post alot of stuff on BB so always check before class. I suggest studying each chapter after ever class so you have the proper handouts and his notes.The last class before the exam is usually key.2 tests a semester and homework after every lecture.Test are 20 MC questions,Analytical questions and calculations.He post tips on BB.

As much as he tries to help students with understanding the material, he is simply not a good teacher. He basically reads off the notes he gives out, with little to no explanation. Difficult, lengthy tests. Unless you're ready to spend hours studying everything on your own, don't bother taking him.
He comes prepare for class, try to read the chapter first will give a better understanding. It is important to attend class to get the main concepts. His exa s are hard he curves a lot. He really dont help you but make sure he knows you I class.

All over the place when teaching. Need to read chapter before attending class, only then you will understand [like with most classes]. Curves a LOT. Wouldn't recommend if you're not studious. I would've gotten an A or A- if I didn't study last minute. You will not understand corpfin on your own if you study last minute! Study ahead of class. GL!
Difficult class, professor does not explain much in class, he just put a lot of notes on a black board and easily gets confused if you ask questions, you will have to read book on your own. Gives HW, checks it next class. 3 exams - MCQ and short essay questions. If you just want to pass this class take it, if you want to learn something - don't .
This class is basically a copy of the board kind of class, his explanations are so hard to keep up with. Class is usually always lost and since his voice is so low no one can really hear what he is saying. You leave the class more confused every time. I already regret taking this course and its only a few weeks in.
Prof. Hwang is a nice person. He summarized each chapter on the blackboard which is very useful for the test. There are three tests and his review questions are very helpful.
If you can survive the boring lectures and read the textbook on your own then you'll do fine. For the case study, just do exactly what's done in the Valuation book. The exam questions are the examples from class. Do the homework as well. He cares about whether or not you understand, but he sucks at explaining students' questions. At least he tries
He is giving only analytical questions no more multiple choice questions. Very difficult if a) don't understand the material b) you don't understand what the professor is saying. He is not trying to make difficult material easy but instead making it even more complex. I wish QC offered more classes for people who are working.
Great professor, willing to help you out, but the class itself is difficult so you need to be ready to practice the textbook problems and you'll do fine on his exam. If people get lower grades so he gives a generous curve to everyone.
Prof. Hwang is caring about his students. His tests were only on what he taught. He explained everything on the blackboard which was very useful. If you spent time on study, there is no reason for you to get a low grade. Just study the notes and the slides, you'll be fine.

He is a nice person but yes his lectures can get boring. You must take notes and study. Online homework and quizzes are easy and he extends it for you if you need more time. three exams, 50% analytical questions and 50% MCQ. If you study the review questions you can pass this class.
the material itself is very hard. there are tons of notes to take. there is one hw and one quiz per chapter and 3 tests. there are no test reviews and much too many things to study for the tests. this professor is great at teaching and also helps his students if they need time on the online quizzes, and i can clearly understand his lectures.
He simply cannot teach. The entire class had no clue how to do the essay cause he barely explained what he wanted us to do. The homework is the most time consuming homework I have ever had (some chapters took 10+ hours to complete). The only good thing about him is that he curves... A LOT, because usually everyone did terrible on the exams.
Although his lectures can be boring, the online homework was easy and the material wasn't very hard. Because of the large class size the three exams were multiple choice and the questions were chosen from the given chapter questions with answers. He wants students to do well, even allowing those who missed exams to retake them.
Don't take him if you have a packed schedule. His tests contain 20-30 MC and 2 analytical questions (given to you before hand). He gives you 500 questions before the test and 20-30 of them will be on the test. Average is around 60-70. Doesn't really curve the grade much. Slow and boring, but also very smart in his subject.
Prof. Hwang is approachable and willing to listen to students. Study the MC questions he uploads many times over and over again and you are guaranteed to pass. Its not difficult just time consuming. He curves the final grade especially if you attend lecture regularly and yes, he takes attendance.
Professor is very caring and really wants his students to succeed. Exams are multiple choice question straight out of 500-600 multiple choice questions. The lecture is hard but the exam are easy. Do all the multiple choice question twice and the analytical question he says will be on the exam and you will be fine. Highly Recommended

this class is very hard, with alot of work to be done and the exams are very hard. This professor does care that his students succeed and helps alot of you ask him. His lectures are also great at explaining the course material. Overall i am glad i took this professor for 2 classes.

He ain't a really good professor. There are way too many notes to take during each class, writes all over the board and never uses PowerPoints. Online HWs are time-consuming and online quizzes are timed (90 min for first one, 120 min each for the rest). Makes you memorize all formulas and procedures from examples INSIDE AND OUT for the exams.

Topics themselves are really challenging and time-consuming. For the exams and final you have to go through the examples in the ppt and book, since exam questions are similar. You have to memorize all formulas mentioned in the chapters. HWs are time consuming and tedious.
Some professor's just can't lecture. The accent gets in the way a bit, but it would be forgiven if he wasn't so set in his ways. He manually writes all the notes on the board prior to class, then adds in tiny scribbled-in information during the lecture. I tried to ask him a few questions after class twice and both times he directed me to tutoring.
DO NOT TAKE HIM! SAVE YOUR $ & TIME! He is not accessible to help! He writes all over the board and when you ask him a question he tells you he will get back to you but never does. Lots of HW, does not go over hw so you don't really know how to prepare for test. I had to dropped the class. Please prof. stop teaching.
He is an awesome professor! He is a must take for economics. He curves like a beast!!! And he cares a lot about the students who show up to class and do the hws. He is truly amazing! The whole class was doing bad but he curved everyone so well. I got a 14 in the final and my final grade was a B.

His accent makes it super hard to understand him and he isn't very clear. Most of the material he teaches has almost no relevance to his tests, but the tests are not super hard. The class is relatively easy if you go on Sapling and watch all the videos. I never showed up after test one and just watched them and ended up with an A.
After moving to online the midterm was an absolute joke in which only one person passed idk how. He gave 10 questions on mylab that had multiple parts and require a lot of calculations to be done for the midterm with a timer of 2 hours. It was impossible. He's also bad in person and should honestly not teach the class. Anyone will be an upgrade.
DO NOT TAKE HIM ! I decided to take his class during the summer as an economics elective. worse thing ever ! The amount of work he gave us was insane for a 200 level! SO EVERYDAY we had to write 2+ pages essay based on the powerpoint and the BOOK ( YOU MUST READ ) plus multiple choice question showing evidence with page numbers. I CRIED ! AVOID !
AVOID HIM . He turned Econ 207 into a writing intensive class, his power points were useless so you pretty much had to teach yourself with the book. It was so disorganized and heavy writing. You will be writing a total of 12 or more essays. PLUS a presentation. I do not recommend him, you need at least 6 hours to study a day for his class.
I dont know where the good reviews come from because hes nothing like that. He does care for his students, hes rude! and always answer in bad way when you have a question as if you were bothering him. Curve? Dont even ask him. Do not take him unless this is your only choice! Theres way better Econ professors in QC ! Save your $ , gpa and time.
Not sure why his reviews are so bad. 2 tests (midterm and final), HW and quizzes (all on mylab). Optional attendance but uses it to curve. And curves huge at the end. Its a 300 level course. It's going to be tough.
He went on and on with the lectures... specially on remote learning it felt very robotic. He gives ton of homework, you even have to buy some web textbook for 60 bucks or so. I learned little to nothing in this class. Hope he was more engaging with the students. He took on student questions and answered them well though.
I really wish I had read the reviews before taking him. Absolutely one of the worst professors in the Econ department. To sum it up, he is inaccessible, rude, bad at teaching, gives lengthy HW's. his teaching style is bland and boring. extremely tough on deadlines as well. Only take him if you literally have no other choice!!!
He's a good dude. If you wanna easy A, take his class. He's caring and motivational during his lectures. He just reads from the slides though. However, everything is online. The lectures can get boring. Attendance matters, on the syllabus it says its extra credit but no, he checks every class day attendance once in the beginning and at the end.
He's a good dude up until it was time for the papers. He's super unclear about the papers every time anyone asks him a question and sometime's he doesn't answer emails. Besides that, most of his class is test heavy. They're worth more than the papers. Attendance definitely matters. So does homework. Lectures are long and boring. Everything's online
This guy says there's a curve. I did all the exams with very good grades, I finished all the homework, and attended most of the lectures. Its funny how he gives "attendance" points. Don' even bother wasting your time trying or attempting to understand his grading scheme. Math doesn' add up when you do your grade according to the syllabus. NOOO!!!!
Super easy class. H.W.'s are super annoying but other than that it's not that bad. Attendance boosts your grade. A lot of Econ professors in QC are horrible. This professor makes sure to explain everything clearly.
I would never recommend nor retake this professor! He doesn't know how to teach nor explain the material, he expects you to follow along on slides separate from the lecture setting, and he doesn't give or show examples. I taught myself through google/ youtube and still don't understand the material. Heavy/ tough test grader!
Literally the WORST professor you can ever come across in your college career. His lectures are the worst to follow and then he expects you to know everything. He gets proud when students drop and when people fails. Shouldn't he be concerned if people are not understanding what he is supposed to be teaching? Very mean, rude and does not care.

He will fail you just because you don't do things the way he wants you to and will not care if your graduation depends of his grades. Just don't take it. He's not worth it and will make the most mean comments ever during class.
you have to teach yourselves outside of class and he recommends a private tutor or tutoring in general which i find a joke because hes the one whos supposed to be teaching the material. Save yourself some time and your GPA. STAY AWAY!
The best professor ive ever had in QC. He is different from other professors he actually teaches material and repeats stuff from econ 101. Other professors just say "revisit econ 101 material if you forgot" he takes the time to explain everything throughly. If you do his review there is no reason to get anything other than an A.
Please do not take this professor. He's a really nice and sweet person, but as a professor he's not the best. For 341W I wouldn't even recommend taking it at Queens. Do e-permit and save your gpa.
Horrible. If you are very smart and driven and like to do it all on your own then take this class. His lectures are terrible and super draining, tests are tough and rigorous. Grades for exams usually averaged below 50. It will be your hardest class guaranteed.
