He is extremely anal with the way he grades his assignments, as many of my peers consistently received petty grades like a 4.25/5. 2 weekly discussions/peer responses are due EVERY Thursday and he does NOT give ANY extensions, doctors' note or not. He expects weekly responses on TWO chapters from TWO different books & films that are 1+ hours long.

Professor Lee was wonderful! I believe this class was not overly difficult at all. Obviously, if you have a fear of public speaking it will be stressful, but as far as writing the speeches/taking quizzes, it is very easy to get an A. He is clearly knowledgable and gives very clear, specific, feedback in order for you to improve.

Professor Lee is a great teacher. He is very strict with his grading, but with something as important as public seeking I feel it is justified. Definitely go for all the extra credit he gives, and start on the projects as soon as possible. If you do that you will do just fine in his class. If you really want to improve, he is a great teacher.

As long as you can write a good essay you'll be fine. He understands people will be nervous the first couple of speeches but he does expect a well written speech. He repeats having a thesis statement with your 3 points and have a strong conclusion. Do the extra credit for visual aids, prepare ahead of time, memorize it and don't procrastinate.

I can usually put up with tough professors, but this professor was just unfair. He is a very tough grader to the point where it's unfair. He is very broad and vague in his assignments. He does not provide any examples which makes it harder to follow and get a good grade. There are easier professors than him. He needs to make better instructions.

This professor doesn't help at all. If you even ask him a question he will indirectly call you slow and refuse to help you. Give/ the most unhelpful feedback that's just plain rude. His assignments are vague and he expects you to understand what he meant. If you have him good luck.

His lectures are actually pretty good, being very informative and easy to understand. The main issues are the assignments. He is incredibly vague when it comes to giving instructions and the feedback he gives isn't any better; it's almost to the point where he becomes very rude about it. Lots of readings too that you have to review alone.

This guy definitely knows he's causing every student in his class' headaches. He WILL make you do assignments that exceed beyond a 100 class, and his instructions are so vague you have no clue what the assignment really is. He WILL throw a fit if you ask questions by the way. Do yourself a favor and get a much easier professor.

IF U CARE ABOUT YOUR SANITY, DONT TAKE HIM. His lectures are interesting, but it does not matter if the majority of the class got an F on the first paper. We were all very discouraged and when we confronted him about it his response was very rude. His instructions are very unclear and the students get punished for it. Save yourself the trouble!!!

All the 5 ratings on him have to be fake because this class is terrible. He only has 4 big assignments for the class, but he failed half the class on the first paper. No one got even a B+ on it. If you ask him questions he will get annoyed. His instructions are unclear. If you dont like writing, dont take this class. This was my hardest class.

As for the class, he makes it engaging and fun, but he complains a lot about specific things, like why is there no Asian superhero that doesn't fit stereotypes? The grading is very specific yet no clear guidelines, examples, or clear instructions are found in one place. I would not recommend this class.

His lectures are actually interesting and i did learn something from this class, but his grading is very unfair because he'll fail you for minor mistakes that shouldn't account for an F. Since there's only a few assignments to be graded, they count for a lot. If you get an D or F on one of them (which you most likely will) you're cooked.

Don't take this professor. I messaged him for help with the Asian spotting paper because his instructions were extremely vague and confusing. He just said to reread the instructions. Like I already did, and it didn't help. He will mark you down for the smallest mistakes on your paper. Don't take this guy. Early candidate for worst professor at CSUN

He is extremely rude and demeaning to students. Any question you ask, he will always say "look at the syllabus". He also changed part of the midterm a week before it was due because he "said it in class before". (He hadn't!) Speaking of, the average for the midterm was a 15/30. This is a 100 level class. Please do NOT take this professor.

This professor is the academic equivalent of a flat tire on the freeway of higher education. He's the rudest teacher I've ever met and I highly recommend any students to stay far far FAR away from him. One of my classmates wen't to his office hours which were at 8AM in the moring and he slammed the door in her face. Thats not the worst hes done.

This course is worth taking. The professor grades strictly but offers many chances to improve, such as opportunities for speeches and helpful peer critiques. Quizzes are open-book and easy to score well on if you read the textbook. Overall, the class significantly improved my public speaking skills.

Professor Lee is a tough Professor but with good reasoning, his class is very interesting and engaging I learned so much. Gives a great out amount of time on assignments makes sure they are always well explained and understood, always asks students to speak up if in need of help to make sure everyone in class is able to keep up correctly

At first I thought this professor was going to lighten up, nope. He would remove points over the slightest things. He once said we didn't need to use a format for an assignment, but majority of the class got under 75% for lack of a format.

Insane grader, will knock off a ton of points for minor things. Extra credit basically does nothing for your grade. Failed me on my final and I dropped from a B to a C just because my “first page doesn't count as a page”, mind you he did not specify this on the rubric. His rubrics are vague, don't hope for an A hope to pass.

If you try you can definitely succeed (do the ec) but hes kind of an a hole and he belittles his students if he thinks they didn't do well on the speech. he'll kind of just add rules to the speeches whenever he feels like it. the main thing that redeems him is that it did make me better at giving speeches but really annoying how the process was.
