Most helpful professor I ever had always there for you at any time
Dr. Ramirez was very helpful. Always willing to help.
Dr Dagoberto is fair, and makes class important for job after I graduate Helpful all the time
will help you with class and other things like advicement
Professor Ramirez explained things well and did not waste time. He was easy to approach and was flexible when things happened in my life. I am happy he will be my adviser again next semester.
He is available even on emails. Always helped answer all things for me.
Fair teacher
he is a very nice and coping teacher
Understood my situation with my son when I turned assignments in late (oops)
Good teacher at hand, knows what he's doing, and respectful, puts up with lots of things, and easy-going
Good class, bit boring sometimes, but nice man, you won't regret taking him for UNIV
Dr. Dagoberto Ramirez gave projects that helped me learn about me and college
he is a fair teacher, believes in his subject, and is there all the time to help you do well
Dr. Ramirez is the perfect teacher to have to transition from high school to college. He makes everything seem so easy.
This professor has a perfect understanding on students need. Very helpful and always there for you, the projects of you do them you are guaranteed and A's. If there was another course with him I would definitely take it.
He is a really good professor, I definitely would take him again! :)
Lots of work, but helped me do better in my other classes.
He is a very nice professor, he's understanding. He does assign a lot of projects though. A lot of hands on assignments, papers, and attendance is very important for his class. I would not take him again only because of all the work. But he is a great professor very down to earth & a nice man
Dr. Ramirez teaches a class that is really helping me figure out what it will take to make it through the college experience. He expects us to read, reflect, discuss, and I was not really comfortable at the beginning. Now, in the middle, I am getting better. The topics we cover are important. Looking for an easy class? Not this one. But good.
He is awesome! I really enjoyed his class he is very helpful and is also very nice and understanding.
This is probably one of the best professors ever. He's an awesome guy, loves to help his students in any way he can. Don't worry if your assignment are late just tell him the situation you had and he will understand. Just make sure you read the articles and do the quizzes(which are done online and are word for word) and you will get A.
Dr. Ramirez is extremely helpful & I really enjoyed the class. Super easy & not as much group projects as expected. There are projects that you have to do, but they're not difficult & complete the quizzes he gives. He literally tells you what sections to read on the articles he gives. Doesn't mind if you turn in assignments late.
Dr. Ramirez cares about students, and he makes the class meaningful to freshman experience. Attend class, participate, and you will get an A. I did!
I took this introduction to Mexican American Studies with Dr. Ramirez, and I am so glad I did. It opened up my eyes to my culture and background. I would recommend that you take this class with him.
Dr. Ramirez still makes time to advise me, two years later. Always available through email and in person.
I took Professor Ramirez Summer 2, he truly cares about the success of his students and is super nice. Since it was the summer, the work can pile up, but its very doable. I recommend you take this teacher if you want an easy A, just do all the work.
He is such a nice professor! He gives homework every other week, and 3 projects which you have the entire semester to work on. He is very caring, he really wants everyone to succeed. I would recommend him. Easy A for sure you just have to participate and try a little.
Dr. Ramirez treated our class as scholars. Helped me with registration planning.
Even though it may be an EASY A, you still have to work for it, by just turning in the work on time and attend class. He Gives enough extra credit, which will help you a lot, believe me. Apart from being a Professor, he could be a friend, some1 to trust and talk to. Also, Projects IN CLASSparticipation and homeworksolid grade, not a tough GRADER!
Dr. Ramirez class has helped me do good in my other classes this semester. He also helped me register for next semester, he was our advisor, and really helpful at it. Assignments can be done. Do not wait until last minute.
Amazing professor, will let you do extra credit if needed. Allows you to turn in late work.
his class is very easy and he really does use real life experiences to help you get an idea of what college life is. He is extremely helpful inside and outside of the classroom. its an easy A.
Dr. Ramirez was helpful all semester. I know he will still be there to help me my next few years. Knows how to help with advice. I am glad he was there for me.
He's a good professor and all, but he makes UNIV harder than what it really should be. I stressed much more in his class than any other class I was taking. It was so frustrating.
Stay on task, and you will get an easy A. Projects, reading assignments, takehome midterm test, and participation. As my adviser, he really helped me figure out what to take next semester. One of the best classes I have taken.
Professor Dagoberto is one the sweetest professors on campus. He is an excellent mentor and makes it very aware that your education matters to him. He will try his best with guiding you in the right direction and great with helping you out with anything you do not understand. Really inspiring too!
My UNIV experience was amazing. Prepared me for rest of college time to come. Am taking his Summer I MASC 2301 class with him!
Dr. Ramirez is a very nice caring person. He is really passionate on what he teaches but he can be a pain in the rear by reiterating everything he has said. Do the work the way he asks and its an easy A.
I took his Intro to Mexican-American Studies class online in Summer 1 & it was SUPER STRESS-FREE. As long as you participated in the weekly discussions on Black Board, replied to the other students' responses & did your weekly journals, you'll be alright! He does count late work & sometimes provides extra credit opportunities. EASY A.
Dr. Ramirez is super understanding & cool. I took his UNIV night class & sometimes he let us out early. We did a lot of group activities which was really fun at times. Do read the articles & answer the following questions after. Also meet the required Service Learning hours. He is also a good academic advisor as well. Do your work & you'll be fine.
Dr. Ramirez's classes are some of the most enriching classes, I am so glad I took his UNIV class in my first year. He's teaching and assignments makes college work so much easier to digest. He is very easy to talk to and he understands that life can get in the way of studies.
Such an amazing prof. He truly cared about his students and always encouraged us to do our best. Only 4 assignments online and 3 projects over the course of the semester. Also lots of group work in class, and try to always be there attendance is worth 20 points out of the 100 total points for the semester. Overall great guy!
Great professor!
Hes a great professor and advisor for that matter. Hes really comprehensive of students having outside life out of campus, but you do got to read and do the read assignments. Overall its really easy and the course will most probably leave you with great life lessons. I do recommend him a lot.
Dr. Ramirez is an easy A, you have 3 main projects and he gives about 2-4 weeks to complete each, 4 reading guide assignments, and a lot of in-class activities (most of them for extra credit). Attendance is not mandatory, but he'll give you extra points if you're always there.
Dr. Ramirez taught me the importance of research in counseling. He was available each time I needed clarification. A Fair grader.
By far one of the most encouraging professors on campus. Professor Ramirez really helps all incoming university students get a better understanding of what college life is like. He is very organized, professional, and welcoming. Most assignments are done as a group.
If you can get Mr. Ramirez for EDUC & UNIV youre one lucky college student! His classes are so funny, easy, and you actually learn more about yourself as a student and person. Hes super understandable, very approachable, and cares about each individual. 10/10
Mr. Ramirez is an amazing proffesor. He cares about his students participation and learning. His class is super easy. We just read 4 articles and answered some questions. We also had a 5th article but it was optional for extra credit. Also he gives out alot of extra credit opportunities so take them!
I was able to learn so much from him. We were able to go to an elementary and assist the kids for about a month. We also did a lesson with avatars, which was pretty fun. The work he gives us is easy and fast to do. Great instructor, you won't regret taking him!
Amazing professor! Took him for EDUC 1301 & UNIV 1301! Offers a whole lot of extra credit throughout the semester! Hands on activities for UNIV 1301. He likes to get to know you. Is very understanding and is very approachable! Had a couple of Reading Guide Assignments but were clear and easy. Two essays that are about you. Would take again!
Dr. Ramirez is very inspirational and caring. I recommend him 100%. The class is an easy A if you attend. The best professor at UTRGV, which is a fact.
He is a very good professor. He gives extra credit and easy assignments, sometimes the class its a little bit boring but attendance helps you with your grade. Be careful when you use your phone,he does not like that.
Professor Ramirez is overall very kind and understanding. His class is fairly easy he explains everything very well. Participation is a big thing in his class, other than that it is really hard t fail this class.
I took him this semester and his class is easy. Participation matters tho and he wants your camera on although some people never had it on. Hes understanding and the assignments are easy with HELLA time to complete
He's just a great professor. Easy assignments and his lectures are really fun to attend. Will highly recommend him for any UNIV class.
by far the best professor i had this semester. he made sure to give enough time to complete his assignments, and he was just a very personable guy that ensured the contents of the class really resonated with you!
Dr. Ramirez is knowledgeable and caring, a great combination to have in a doctoral class. Assignments are relevant and quite useful.
He's the best professor I have had, very caring and understandable. His assignments are every three weeks and are very useful since they consist of exploring your major, road map, utrgv systems and more. Super accessible through emails, and class was fun to attend.
He was nice but he was a picky grader. He would talk the whole class period but just repeated himself a lot. He makes you get in different groups every other project which was annoying.
Online class, Blackboard setup very organized. Easy to get A or B, do the work and follow directions. Allowed redoing work and get all points on all assignments. Very available on email, or Zoom.
This class is great. I have learned so much and Dr. Ramirez is awesome gives the students the opportunity to correct the assignments if needed with constructive feedback in ways to improve. He is also available when needed via email, phone or zoom.
It is week four of our Spring 2024 semester and Dr. Ramirez has been so helpful already. I asked him to meet with me online and we meet so I could understand the first two assignments. I just received feedback and I now fully understand exactly how to do the work. I appreciate that. Lots of work, but I know I am learning a lot, and he is helping.
Just go to class! If you go I promise it will be the easiest class of your semester. He is an amazing professor if you get to know him and even though all the assignments have a due date, if you tell him that you missed to submit it he will give you a window so you can submit the homework.
Dr. Ramirez UNIV class was important to me getting to know how to do well this first year but will also help the rest of college. Great advisor. Assignments are interesting and helpful. Attend class and do the work, and you'll get a good grade!
Professor Ramirez EDUC 4306 class was very organized. Blackboard and syllabus great guides to what assignment was going to be due, and react date. His feedback was very helpful, and he gives chances to redo what needs to be redone. I wish I had taken him for other classes. I'm probably getting a B, but totally on me.
Amazing and 10/10 professor. He made my transition to college so much easier and more inviting. He gives a lot of individual and group assignments that require a lot of thought, but the grading criteria are concrete. If you go above and beyond in his class, he will notice and applaud you for it. Turning in assignments when they are due is CRUCIAL!
Dr. Ramirez treated me as a professional scholarly researcher in this research class. It was a lot of work, but it has really helped me become a better scholar on my way to becoming a counselor. His feedback provided the guidance I needed to build the final research proposal as best as I could. I definitely recommend him and would take him again.
super nice and caring. Easy and straight forward work.
Dr. Ramirez is so great at providing clear instructions and always replies immediately to most e-emails. His course can just be overwhelming with the amount of reading and writing that needs to be done. It is a lot of work , so be ready for this course to take up a lot of time however he gives opportunity to re do assignments.
Dr. Ramirez gives detailed information on how to get assignments done. He also allows late work when needed. If you are looking for easy class that has little work, this is not the class. But you will learn a lot. Definitely a class I am glad I took. Will help me be a better teacher.
Loved him! You could really tell he has a passion for teaching and making the transition into college a lot easier. He took time to say good morning to each student and talk to us for a bit. Only downside was how time consuming his assignments were but honestly a 10/10 professor!
This professor talks about the same thing over and over again, I personally would not take this professsor again. The professor is a tough grader gives too much work and has to be very detailed with paragraphs when this class is a univ.
Mr. Ramirez was alweays helpful when I needed to ask him for help with an assignment. He always gives extra time when you need to finish an assignment. I can tell he cares about me as a student and person!
Dr. Ramirez helped me learn how to get ready for advising for the semester. The assignment with the road map and degree works was so helpful to me! I am now ready to plan my classes and what career I want to see. Thank you, sir!
Great teacher! Was very helpful in my first semester in college. Assignments help me understand what I need to do in college. Lots of work, but easy to do. He cares a lot about his students!
Incredibly particular about minor details. If he perceives that an email is not written correctly, he will return it until you rewrite it. This behavior extends beyond emails; he also applies this strictness to his work. He will not grade assignments if he feels they lack sufficient thoroughness.
Definitely one of the best classes I've ever taken. He is a very caring person and made the transition to college easier. Homework can take a while to finish so make sure to not procrastinate. He is very strict with emails as well but will reply almost immediately.
He talks a lot about nothing and is extremely strict with emails and work. Hefty amount of work and it is a UNIV course. He did more talking about his life than actually teaching anything and his work took up most of my time, again while being a UNIV class.
Dr. Ramirez really helped me a lot to learn to be a better student. I am now more focused, and I am glad he shared about his own life to help me me see that I can succeed in school like he did. He is an amazing teacher!
Dr. Ramirez was great to have as last class before clinicals in fall. A lot of work, but it really helped me be a better teacher. Feedback was helpful, and chance to redo work is helpful. Thank you, Dr. Ramirez.
Weekly emails helps explain assignments and showed he genuinely cared about me as a future teacher. Every assignment have me a chance to practice real teacher work. It was a lot of work, but important work. Excellent professor. I recommend him.
Gracias, Doctor Ramirez por permitirme usar Espanol en la clase, y apoyandome a seguir pacticar mi Ingles tambien. Usted me ayudo a sentirme comoda en la clause. Y estoy mas preparada para las classes que sigue. Marvelous teacher.
Professor Ramirez's assignments have really helped me get ready for the realities of teaching high school history class. I won't lie, it has been a lot of work, but once I got the rhythm of the high expectations in all assignments, I got it done. I appreciate his dedication and professionalism. Thank you, sir.
This is a senior course, with that said, in all my years at UTRGV, he is BY FAR the worst professor I have ever had. AVOID HIM !!!!!!!
Dr. Ramirez is strict on his assignment grading, but is always willing to allow resubmissions to earn a better grade. All assignments were helpful to me in getting set to teach high school Spanish and PE classes. He always responded quickly to email. Also met with me in his office to help me understand work. Gracias, Dr. Ramirez!
Professor Ramirez is an easy A id you go to class, do the modules and journal writings, and participate with your groups in class. His stories are funny and help explain his ideas. No tests! No textbook. Always ready to talk before and after class.
Even with all the much class work this course is a plus when it comes to the chance to learn real things for teaching. Mucho trabajo, pero muy important. Feedback and resubmission helped alot.
Dr. Ramirez is so great at providing clear instructions and always replies immediately to most e-emails. His course can be overwhelming with the amount of reading and writing that needs to be done. It is a lot of work , so be ready for this course to take up a lot of time however he gives opportunity to re do assignments.
Dr. Ramirez really helped me a lot to learn to be a better student in my first semester at college. I am now more focused, and I am glad he shared about his own life to help me me see that I can succeed in school like he did. He is an amazing teacher! Thank you!
