Quite possibly the easiest accounting class you can ever take, tells you exactly what is coming on exams (just memorize her examples on the board that she gives in the review classes) because she just changes the numbers around. Should get a B or higher in the class forsure.
Great Prof. Dal is really good at making the course interesting and she is the most helpful prof I have had. The course is not overly hard, but there are alot of assignments. But they are returned to the students ASAP.
Dal is an excellent accounting prof. She is an easy marker and returns graded assignments/exams promptly. Dal is also extremely helpful and clarified all the questions that I had. She shows you step-by-step on how to solve each problem as well. Overall, I got an A+ in the course and I highly recommend this prof. Lastly, I think Dal is pretty.
If you like to teach yourself then this is the class for you. She quickly goes over the notes and not in detail. She also does a few questions on the board and expects you to get them. For review classes she gets students to teach. You must read the chapters in order to get a some what good grade. Oh and she tries to be funny but she is not.
This is a hard course but her lesson notes are very helpful. The questions we did were good, but I would like to have done some more. If you come to class, do the questions and quizzes, you will get a good mark. She is very friendly and helpful. She does not teach Acct 268, but I will take Acct 311 and Acct 322 with her. Loved the stories!
Dal is a great instructor! She taught me mngt acct in the summer and financial acct in the fall. She is so friendly and helpful, and she really knows her stuff! I felt like I actually learned the material! She is for sure one of the best instructors at MacEwan.
Dal is great! She really knows her stuff and I learned so much in this class! I actually understand financial acct now. She really took the time to help me learn and she was so fast at e-mailing me back. Dal is so friendly and nice, she really cares about me and other students. She is the best teacher I have had!
She is sometimes difficult to get through to when you don''t understand things. More of a do-er than a teacher in that respect.
Dal taught me management accounting and financial accounting and she really helped me in both courses. She is smart, funny, friendly, and very helpful. I hope that I can take more courses from her...
Pretty awesome, always cheerful, I always look forward to her class. She alwayys tries to make sure eveyone is okay and when you seem sad she always tries to make sure your good or tries to make you feel better. a little fast but if you ask for help she gives it.
Excellent instructor, exams are short and easy. She explains concepts clearly and concise.
She is an amazing teacher. It is not hard to believe she recieved the distinguished teaching award in 2012. She always makes sure the class understands the topic and was always available for help outside of the classroom. I love how she always started the class with an interesting story related to the topic. I wish I had more classes with her.
I took financial accounting 2 this summer with Dal and she is an excellent instructor. I loved the stories that she used in class and the questions we did on the board were so helpful! She was very friendly with all of us and I will be taking another course with her this fall.
Great teacher looking forward to another class with her in the fall
Excellent teacher and always willing to help.
Dal is very smart and very kind. She is the most organized instructor that I have had. I was not looking forward to this class, but Dal made it interesting and I can see why I need to learn this stuff. I loved her stories at the start of each class. She is very professional and is a great role model.
Great teacher overall. Exams are just like the questions she does in class. Short power points so class isn't super boring. Definitely enjoyed this class thanks to her.
Liked the class; great instructor! Dal is friendly, helpful, and always happy. Time goes by fast in this class. Respectful of all us students and FAST marker. We would get our exams back the next class. Followed the course schedule, no surprises. One of the best instructors at MacEwan - highly recommend you take her class.
Dal is a great prof; very easy to understand. She explains things clearly and does lots of questions in class and clearly explains answers step by step. All my exams were marked really fast and I found that very helpful. Class was organized and we followed the schedule to a "T". Professional and friendly; would recommend her to my friends.
Best prof ever! So helpful and fair. When you ask a question she listens, gives an answer and asks if she answered your question. She lest you do questions in class, so that you can attempt the concept before moving on. She brought humour to accounting. Great prof. I will take another class with her.
Dal is amazing, I am absolutely horrible with numbers and previously failed this class with another prof - with Dal I got a relatively-easy A. There are quizzes every class and a decent amount of in-class group work but all in all her lectures and incredibly useful. You need the book to do the activities she assigns you and don't miss class!
She is the best prof. She's always offering help and marks your exams within 48 hours.
Open test quizzes after each chapter. Midterm you got to choose your questions 10/15 provided with one question mandatory. Always willing to meet after class and getting you a tutor if necessary. All around a really nice person.
Amazing teacher, always willing to help. Also provides very clear instructions on what to expect for midterms and the final. Overall probably the best Accounting prof in the University, would definitely take her class again!
Dal is very nice & her expectations were clear. Not a fan of her teaching style though. All we did in class were a couple questions out of the textbook. It felt like a waste of time going to class. I taught myself everything from the book. Exams were fair. Bring extra paper to exams, she gives you no room for work, she only marks the final answer.
Overall this was a good course taught by a good prof. Classes were very consistent, we stuck to the course outline and did alot of questions in class. The group assignments were helpful; they prepared me for the exams. Exams/assignments were marked really fast, liked that! Dal is very helpful, respectful, and kinds. Has lots of great stories!
does not clear even basics of accounting. So, it is always tough for students , who are new to accounting. she is good teacher for old accounting students, who know about accounting equations. but, if you are new to accounting. just AVOID her.
Been waiting for a spot to open in Acct 315 this term and finally got in! I have been waiting to take this course with Dal as I had her for Acct 161 and she is a great prof. Super clear, fast marker, very helpful, and one of the happier people on campus. So far the class is off to a good start, not a big fan of the textbook, but that happens.
Not a very good teacher overall. In addition to that, she will give you numerous examples in class, but none of the examples are similar to the online assignments, therefore you're on your own. Expect to read the book and take 6+ hours to finish the online assignments. Online assignments are not the same as in class examples. You teach yourself.
I had Dal for my first year of accounting and now I have her for Acct 315. She is so helpful and very clear, easy to understand. This course is way more work than first year, but its like that for a few course this year. She was always there to help me and she was a fast marker for exams. We all liked that!
When you get a new prof, you don't know what to expect. Heard Dal was good and she is! I just wrote an exam yesterday and the marks are posted today! Wow, that is fast! Thanks Dal. I think the rest of the term will go pretty well.
She is Great instructor!
Best Teacher at MacEwan. she is super helpful and such a fast marker. I wish I could have her for all my accounting courses. If you go to class and do your homework there is no reason not to get an A. Best Teacher ever!
She is great. Her tests and online homework reflects what is done in class (so going to class will help you 1000x). I learned so much about both theory and practical stuff in ACCT 211 and 161 by attending lectures. She makes great use of class time and examples. Her class is not an easy A, but she will help any student achieve the grade they want.
I am a distance student and the Prof had the marks of my midterm back by the time I got home from the library where I wrote! No problem getting a hold of the prof, always helps answer when you ask.
The best teacher ever! Made the class very easy for me ! Gives lots of examples and is always ready to help !
Very nice person. But ya, she doesn't really teach. You're basically expected to read the chapter and learn the material before going to class, because she spends class time doing questions from the book - which weren't at all similar to the Wiley assignments. Exams were easy tho, and she lays out the whole exam so you know exactly what to study.
I just finished my first year at MacEwan. I dreaded taking this course, so I left it to last. My friends had Dal last year and highly recommended her. The class was totally better than what I had expected! She is so easy to follow and understand. With Dal's help, I decided to continue my studies and have registered for her Acct 161 class.
Dal makes it so you don't have to do a ton on your own to understand. I went the entire semester without reading the book, and still got an A-. Her class examples are awesome and she explains it as she goes. She cares more about her students than any prof I have had. Do your best to get into her class! You will never regret it!
One of the greatest profs I have encountered, you will get a good grade if you are willing to put in the time and complete all the assignments. She is very helpful. Make sure you go to every class as her tests are based on in class material.
Her in class notes and practice questions are the midterms and final. She gives a thorough review of upcoming midterms. Easy A
Best teacher I had ever.
This is a teacher who truly loves to teach, she inspires accountants in a field where that is hard to come by. The best teacher in the business faculty hands down, classes were engaging and the notes were presented in an organized thought process (warning us on large problems to start a fresh piece of paper). MacEwan needs more teachers like Dal.
Dal is an absolute sweet heart. She is a fair marker and if you go to her with your issues in the course, she will help you step by step and go through clear explanations and examples. One issue I had was that sometimes she would give us numbers with no clear origin so it pays to be involved with her lectures and ask her questions.
Ms. Dal is the best professor of MacEwan University. She is very organized, student-oriented, fast-marker, accessible outside class, amazing lectures, and she is very passionate on helping students to learn. Her exams are similar with the ones we practice in class so as long as you know your concepts by attending her lectures, you will get an A+
Dal is the most amazing accounting prof I have ever had. I wish she could teach me all of the accounting classes I need to take. The lecture contain of going over the slides and then solving problems, which helps a lot to understand the content. All the quizzes and midterm are easy to get a 100% on if you pay attention in class.
Dal is an excellent prof. She is very clear when going over new topics and makes sure everyone understands before moving on. She will make time outside of class if you need help. Exams are based on examples done in class so showing up to class is recommended. I would highly recommend taking her for any accounting classes.
Dal is a fantastic prof who providesmany chances to improve your mark. There are online assignments that follow the examples she does in class and if you are having a bad day, she is very understanding and if you talk to her, sometimes she can weigh your mark to help you. My only problem is that I do not have Dal teaching ALL my accounting courses.
Ms. Pirot is probably the best managerial accounting professor by far. Midterms were pretty easy and the final was a breeze. Ms. Pirot answered practically any question that was asked. Do the practice examples in class and you should get an A.
Dal is by far the greatest professor I have ever had, her lectures are amazing and she provides you with examples that you are actually tested on in the exam. SUPER clear on what to expect on the midterms and the final (both easy). She is so respectful towards her students and is eager for you to do well just as much as you are
Dal is a real gem. By far the best accounting prof at the school. She makes the hardest topics simple to understand. Her explanations are superb, her review packages are tough but help you prepare for the exams. Her exams are not the easiest but the course is more challenging than 301 so its expected. But she does everything to make sure ur ready
She deserves an oscar if they gave that to teachers. she's honestly wonderful tho, a real gem
Dal is absolutely amazing. She really wants you to do well and gives you all of the tools you need to succeed!
Dal is the best accounting prof I have ever had. She is super nice and such a great teacher. She goes through concepts nice and slow and does lots of practice questions. She also posts the textbook questions in a word document so you do not need to buy the textbook.
One of the best accounting professors I've had. Gives options on midterms and final (don't need to answer all questions given). Tests were very fair and based only on information from the lectures. No projects for this class, only online quizzes. Would definitely recommend taking her class.
I've had Dal 3 times now and she has exceeded expectations every time. Best prof at Macewan! Super organized, thorough examples in class, clear exam expectations, always there for you outside class, answers emails fast, respectful, funny, fantastic at teaching, and an all around adorable human being. TAKE HER IF YOU CAN!! Best prof I've had!
Dal makes life so much better. ACCT 316 is a tough course but, it was very doable with Dal. Her class examples are very similar to the exam problems. There were only two major issues (both of which weren't her fault). One being the difficulty of the Wiley Plus and the other being the difficulty of the midterm and final MC questions.
If you are not good in accounting and can not do self study for whole course this teacher is not good for you. She expect you to do self-study for whole course. Ask question she is extremely unhelpful and rude to her students. Rating here is positive because she teaches and gives you everything what you need to know to get an A.
I had Dal for 3 courses and she is my favorite prof. For each class, she covers some slides and then does a question and I really like this approach. Dal is the most organized prof ever and when I have talked with her after class, she has alot of business experience and knowledge. She is very calm, and this helps as I have alot of anxiety.
A prof sent from accounting heaven.
Most of the students in our class are interested in the CPA pathway and she often keeps you updated on events and talks about ways to get started in your career, what it's like, etc. Makes sure everyone understands content before moving on, makes a content-heavy course bearable and very clear. Would take again!
Wonderful prof! Kind, enthusiastic and cares about her students success. Focus on theory for your first midterm and read carefully! Questions aren't too hard if you study and go to class. Do your connect assignments they help and study in class examples for exams!! Always review
I took Dal a few semesters ago, and appreciated more than anything how she tried her best to simplify the material. It wasn't an easy class, but she would explicitly say what was going to be on exams. She made you work for it, but she was caring, helpful and fair.
Dal is an absolute gem. ACCT is difficult, but she does her best to make concepts clear and easy to comprehend. She does loads of in class practice questions which was amazing. Her tests are fair and she marks fairly. She is extremely approachable and sweet. I would recommend her to everyone and would retake her class 100 times over.
315 is tough but Dal did a great job with her online delivery of this class. Pretty easy workload with 2 midterms a final and connect assignments. Her videos going through examples were very helpful for exams.
I can't speak about her in-person delivery of classes, but I was personally disappointed with her online class. She does the bare minimum as a professor since she just posts her old lecture videos and that's about it. I can still pull my weight regardless, but she should have done more for a challenging 3rd-year course like this...
Dal is an exceptional prof. She is very passionate about accounting as she often provided us with extra resources (CPA info, scholarships, networking events). The course in itself is difficult, she posted pre-recorded lectures and was always accessible outside of class which made it a breeze. Exams are almost identical to assignments and homework.
Gal is wonderful. She is truly passionate about the success of her students. The course itself is difficult but would be even more challenging if Dal hadn't created such excellent lectures. The ACCT 315 course I took might have been the most organized I've seen yet with clear timelines for keeping on track in the condensed spring session.
Dal is probably the best accounting professor I have had so far. Her tutorials are so easy to follow and assignments always matched the questions completed in her lectures as did the midterms. Make sure and do the practice questions in assignments to prepare you for 2 midterms and a final. Graded by few things. Not an easy course, but it is doable.
Tough course but doing the practice questions and watching her lectures makes it very doable. Is willing to help you understand conceptually but do not expect extra hints or guidance for tests as her lectures and questions provide everything you need to know
i am still in the middle of the semester. Dal has reached out to me regarding any concerns she has over my work. She cares alot of about her students and gives them the opportunity to improve on their next assignments to pass. Not only that, she is very responsive with any concerns I have, i would love to take her classes again in the future.
She's a good professor and made the course easy to understand, exams were similar to the assignments but she is overly professional and has zero personality. I personally wanted to sleep through her lectures.
Dal is a decent professor who does a good job at teaching accounting. Her lectures are dry but I can pull my part. Exams are similar to the assignments. Threatens to report you to Academic Integrity if you ask her to round your grade (even by 0.1%) Good prof, very strict.
Took Dal's class over the Spring '22 semester. No in person classes but the posted lecture videos were very well done. Very prompt responses on emails and the class outline was simple to follow. Recommended questions from text directly correlated with the assignments and exams. Would absolutely take a class with her again.
Dal is a very caring and thoughtful prof. Her video lectures were detailed and covered 99% of the material needed from the textbook, saving me a fair bit of reading (although I'd still say review the text before tests). She was available with good feedback over email when needed. Highly recommend Dal, hope to have her for future classes.
I loved Dal's online lectures. She has a very calm and clear way of explaining concepts. The class grade is majorly based on 2 exams (80%), but I felt prepared for them since the assignments/examples directly related to the test material. I would be very happy to take a course taught by Dal again.
Great prof! Whatever you learn in the lectures and on assignments will be similar to the exams. But it is a lot of material!
Not much to say, it was a good online class, with weekly reminders to stay on track but there are 5 small assignments and 2 labs; other than that it's 2 huge exams worth 80% which bothers me. Dal's personality is a little dry, which can make the online lectures a little dreadful, but overall the content and material are straightforward! Easy class.
Dal is an alright professor. Our class was supposed to be fully in person, yet she only made one day in person and the other online The course overall is alright, it could have been structured better. The course included 3 assignments worth 10% total, 2 midterms worth 20% each and a final also worth 30%. I find it unfair with the weightings.
This has been one of the better online courses. Dal has lecture videos for each chapter that walk you through the powerpoints and she made about 6-10 video solutions for textbook questions for each chapter. There were 5 assignments, 2 labs, and 2 exams. She responded to my emails quickly and was very helpful.
Made the course fairly easy. All the required assignments and examples reflected the types of questions asked in exams and the material was fairly straightforward.
Very organized and encouraging prof. Read the textbook and do the practice problems and you'll do just fine. Sent out weekly email updates. Very strict but fair marker (do NOT ask her to round your grades but she would adjust your grades if Connect made a mistake). Always available to help students and to give accounting-related career advice.
Dal is very organized, provides clear and informative lecture videos, and gives students access to lots of material and practice. She's also very responsive to emails and is super helpful. She's everything I look for for an online instructor... considering it's an accounting course, I did a lot better than I thought I would!
She made a exception for the online component of the class where she went above and beyond of what was required and hosted our online Wednesday class inperson for those students who are learn better in person. Her test are weighted heavily but as long as you read her materials and go over the questions assigned you will do great. Take Dal trust me.
One of my favorite teachers I have ever had! She is very smart and has a lot of experience with accounting and the class was primarily marked by 3 non-cumulative midterms.
Dal is an awesome prof and I wouldn't have taken this class any other way. I had her for both 311 and 315 now and both classes were great. She is very clear on how you are graded, she is very fair with how you are going to be graded, and her course is structured for you to succeed.
Dal is a nice prof. She is easy to understand and is organized. Each class we cover some slides and then do some questions. The questions we did really helped me to learn what was going on. The lab was ok. The lab tutors are students. I would have preferred my prof to be my lab tutor, but my lab tutor was good.
I took this class online, and the lecture videos were clear and easy to follow. The tests were in person, but if you reviewed the lectures and practiced with her practice exam questions, you should be good. Put in some effort, and you'll do well!
Dal spends most of class doing example questions, this is really helpful for the assignments and labs. Her class is not cumulative and her exams are multiple choice only. She cares about her students and offers lots of practice material for the midterm and final. Definitely recommend taking her!
The was class easy to understand and Dal responded quickly to emails. She's very encouraging as well, just a great prof overall. Keep up with the assignments, do the practice questions and you'll be good! Also, there's 3 exams, 30% each, but you pick 40/45 questions to answer!
Dal is a fantastic professor and cares about her students' success. The 3 exams are non-cumulative and all multiple choice, and you even get to choose 5 questions you don't want to answer. Her practice questions are very similar to the exams so make sure to review those. There are 5 assignments and 3 lab quizzes as well that aren't too difficult.
I took this class's hybrid section. Dal's in-person lectures and videos are straight to the point and helpful. Midterms and the final are non-cumulative, and you have the choice to leave 5 questions unanswered! I also had so many resources to access, which was amazing. A high mark with Dal as your professor is 100% attainable.
Amazing prof! Take her if you can for the intermediate accounting courses. Make sure you attend class, though. She does upload online videos, but the in-person sessions make much more sense. If you are in the hybrid class, ask her if you can join the other section for lectures. Genuinely a fantastic professor will definitely retake her. RECOMMEND
Dal is the GOAT! She teaches well, and provides lots of resources to study for exams. Her connect assignments really help prepare you for the midterms and final. Course load was manageable with other classes. Would definitely take her again.
Dal is a phenomenal prof. She cares about students and tries to help us understand. Marking is primarily 3 non-cumulative exams and 3 homework assignments that you get multiple attempts on. Take her!!
Amazing professor! Very clear with what's on exams and does not try to trick you. Know the practice questions + theory, as there's a fair mix of those on exams. 3 assignments, 2 midterms, and a final (not cumulative). She also let us answer only 40 of our 45 questions on exams, so if you were stuck on some, it would not count towards your grade!
