Great Professor! Has excelent teaching skills and is very fair. I only wish he would drop the lowest test grade. :(

awsome proff. gades hard no leayway on grades- tests are harder then most but he makes you learn he is always happy which helps with calculus

Entertaining and extremely good teacher. He made everything he touched on clear as day for me, as long as I put in the required work I did well. But, he grades hard and gives no breaks, so don't slouch.

A lot of people in my classes said he was hard and went too fact. Actually, He was a GREAT PROFESSOR, and, it's college, people, teachers are supposed to go fast. All in all, Prof. Garlick was the best prof. that I ever had at CCM.

Had him for calc 2 and would recommend him to anyone. He's got nearly 3 decades of teaching experience, but more importantly, has great people skills.

I was on here rating another professor and noticed Garlick is still around. I had this guy back in high school (1990), when I had him for Algebra 2 (and aced his class). I liked the guy tremendously back then. It's nice to see he's still doing well.

Professor Garlick is still the best professor I have ever had. I am at the University of Delaware now and wish I could have brought him with me. Extremely clear and helpful. Funny. Cares a lot about his students and wants them to do well. Take him!

This man is soo great!! He is the best professor for math at CCM. He is very helpful if you ask for help.. I can't say that the class is easy, but if u do the homework and listen well and take notes you will do just fine!.. HE IS THE BEST:)

This was a great class. Tha material was taught in a way that made it easy to understand. He breaks it down into parts so everyone knows and can follow. He is also very willing to help aftrer class and in office hours. A GREAT PROF!!

Took him for Statistics. It looked hard when I saw the textbook, but he broke it down into ways we can all relate to. Very nice and helpful. I recomend him!

The best Math teacher I've EVER had, from Nursery School until college. Even if he has a class right after yours, he's STILL willing to stay and help during you the fifteen minutes between class periods. I wish he'd teach at Ramapo College!!!

Easily the best math teacher I've ever had in my life. Took him for Calc I and II, then transferred. Wish I had him at Seton Hall now. He knows (and loves) math, breaks it down, and will do anything to help his students. Definitely take him!

I am at another school and miss Garlick so much. He really made me like math...and others have snuffed that flame. Also, very very very cute. Did i say he was cute. Take him if you need something other than math to look at.

He is without contest the best math teacher I have ever had in my life. He has a way of seeing things that makes it so much simpler. If you miss a class, you will miss a lot; however, he is willing to give extra help whenever you need it. He's also got a fun dry sense of humor and those eyes... Take him for any and all math courses.

He's a great professor and the best math teacher I've ever had. Took him for college algebra and will be taking him for precalc. His precalc is at 8:30 a.m. I am NOT a morning person AT ALL. So he must be a great professor! If you can take him for math, do it. You won't regret it.

Fantastic professor, register for him early because his classes fill quickly! Cares about his students and tells amazing stories about education (if you take him for it). Will help you any way he can and is soooooo nice!!! Take him if you can!

The best Professor I had! I took Teaching in America with him, and it was the best decision. He makes the class so interesting, and it's not really hard. I really didn't want that class to end... we had a close bond with everyone, it was great!

Took him for College Algebra. I've always been bad at Math and got all D's and F's in high school. Dropped out of Sabella's class last semester because she was horrible. Garlick was amazing..very helpful, always went for extra help..I GOT A B!! Never thought I could do it. Reviews really helped..great class..and I hate math but not anymore!

very very very great math professor..i hate math and he really helped me out..loves to talk about sports..first day he walked in he looked kind of mean, but after that day he warmed up to you..he doesn't like to fail people so if u do bad on a test hell make u take it until u pass it..TAKE HIM IF UR AN ATHLETE! easy class.

I'm good at algebra as it is, but after sitting through his class I felt like a genius. He goes through every topic so thoroughly that you understand the material, your not just memorizing.

I only did poorly because I slacked off. He has been my best mathematics teacher. I'm tempted to go back and take Calc 3 when I finish up at my current college. He explained the proofs of theorems, which not many professors will bother doing. If you need help, he'll give you it, no problem~

I took college algebra with another prof, withdrew because it was hard, so then i resigned up with this guy and now i have an A average. pay attention in class , do the homework and you will pass. The test are easy

Had Professor Garlick for regular stats. This guy has to be the best Math professor at CCM. Do not hesitate to take his course. Extremely nice and helpful, he will do everything to make sure you pass. Made an intimidating subject easy and somewhat fun. Everyone was worried at the beginning of the course, but I think everyone ended up doing well.

Thought that he was an excellent teacher. Would definiteley recommend that you take him.

Professor Garlick will not baby you in any way. As the student, it is up to you to do well in his class. He presents all of the material in a crystal clear method that anyone can understand and will answer any question clearly. However, the student must do the homework or else the concepts will not grab hold.

Excellent teacher. Could probably teach anywhere. His notes are very useful and organized (almost like an outline). Class is very interactive. He'll show you how to do something then have you do some examples. Tests are reasonably challenging, but fair. Grading system is very accurate. Had homework Q&A after class. Answers all questions. Lots of guided practice in class. Pay attention to in-class examples, similar things will appear on the tests. Fantastic teacher. Came early for homework questions. Always verbalized what he was doing in a methodical way to the point where I could hear his verbal monologue while I was doing problems.

Calc 1. Excellent professor! very helpful and gives you plenty of chances to get a good grade. Don't mess up on those chances though! Tests are pretty easy if you understand the material, plus the final was cake!

You cannot get a better teacher for any class. This guy is the creme de la creme. This guy is the best teacher anyone can ever have. Extremely helpful, extremely clear in class and just helps us all reach our fullest potential. I seriously recommend this guy to everyone who has the chance of taking him. You cant get better. A+ grade for you Prof!!!

This is the only guy you should be learning math from. If all math teachers were just like him, we'd all be super geniuses. He doesn't teach out of the book and a phrase you'll hear a lot is, 'Don't do it the way the book does it'. Trust me, if you take his class, you'll know there's an easier way. All of the material is presented using short sections, in a way so that you're able to build on everything he's taught you in a couple of minutes. He doesn't give a lot of hand-in homework and his tests usually have about ten questions on them. The finals are usually pretty short too, which can be a good thing or a bad thing. Personality-wise, he's casual and friendly and always gets to know his students. He likes to joke around and play tricks, so don't take everything he says too seriously. ;) Overall, he's a great teacher and definitely the one you should be learning math from if you can take a joke. 100% recommended.

Professor Garlick is the man. If you are looking for a good math elective, I strongly recommend Statistic with this teacher. The homework and exams are pretty easy. He hand out a review sheet for upcoming exams especially for the final. If you can master it, then you are going to do well in that class.

Every teacher should strive to be him. Well-liked by the students, easy to understand, easy to work with, keeps the class awake, and is very fair about his grading policy. Take him if you get the chance.

Prof. Garlick is awesome. He is a good teacher. He does a good job of going through the material and is one of my favorite math teachers at CCM.

Calc is a very tough subject, but Garlick does a great job teaching it. Plenty of example problems. Always willing to answer questions. Excellent review sessions prior to tests. Four tests, a quiz and the final. HW not graded (but you better do it!) Do not skip classes-you’ll miss too much. He has a sarcastic sense of humor-but a really nice guy.

Basic statistics this class was so easy, everything is done on mymathlab. The tests are the exact same questions as the reviews just with different numbers. He doesnt assign much homework and it is done at your own pace. Midterm and final are on campus, but they are easy if you did the reviews. Deff reccomend him for this class!

Very clear, best math teacher I ever had. Made Calculus seem easy!! I wish I could take him for my summer Calc II class. Highly recommend taking his class, he also makes it interesting by explaining how equations can be applied.

Great teacher. Best professor I've had at CCM. Every professor should strive to be on his level. He works out a problem (So you learn how to do it from him), he writes an example on the board, gives you a few mins to try it yourself then he works out the problem step by step to show you how to do it. No surprises here, you earn your grade though.

Hate math; LOVE Prof. Garlic! He makes statics so easy to understand. Math scares me...lol...but he is so nice and only shows you what he really need to know. He gives so many life examples to keep it interesting! Im hoping to be able to take him again.

Definitely the best professor I've had. I had him for statistics and he made every single topic very clear. He was ALWAYS willing to offer extra help and just wants you to understand it. He always brings it down to a level that you can relate on so it's not just random number crunching. I wish he could teach all of my math courses. He's the best!

For the longest time, people kept telling me stats was going to be a difficult course, but not with Garlick. I took the class online. Homework was not too time consuming, and was very helpful. He also had reviews on there before the exam which was exactly what the test was just with different numbers. Absolutely loved the class and would take again

Take him. You would be doing yourself a favor, especially if you don't like math. Only thing is, he's not very helpful outside of class. He loves to teach a full class, but appears to hate tutoring 1 to 1. And this is coming from one of his best students, easy A if you put in the time and pay the f attention to the conceptual components of calc. :)

He doesn't explain how he grades. If you get a D on one test you need to drop the class.

Some Professors are passionate about their subject and others are passionate about teaching their subject. That's Professor Garlick. He goes to great lengths to help students understand what's being taught. He's brilliant, entertaining, caring, and for a mature gentleman, very easy on the eyes. I would take his class again just for the fun of it.

By far the best math teacher I have ever taken. When he walks in he goes straight to the board and starts with examples right away. Gives plenty examples on the topic so when you approach the homework you're not lost. Must agree with another review he doesn't appear to like 1 on 1 tutoring as much as a full class. Lectures usually end early too.

Professor Garlick helped me so much with this class. I had missed a few classes because I had military training and he made sure I was caught up and he didn't doubt that I could still get a great grade. I ended up with a B which was pretty good for missing so many classes. I appreciated all of his help in the end. He's a good guy!

Professor Garlick was the first best professor that I have ever had in Maths. I moved to USA 1 year ago before taking his class and sometimes I had questions because the language and he was patience with me. He makes sure you understand all. His lectures are so clear and organized that OMG.I loved them! & He gave us study guides. HE IS THE BEST.

Professor Garlick was a wonderful teacher. He was always there for office hours and gave encouragement to me every single time he saw me struggling with the course material. He teaches math better than any professor I've ever had, he is charming, and makes class interesting. He gave us challenging test problems but they only prepared me for Calc2.

He proctors all tests over Zoom. Allows a formula sheet. Cumulative final. Doesnt grade homework, but assigns it for practice. Provides study guides. Extra credit is offered; but, only counts if you get it all correct. Grades are based off of the 4 tests. He can explain stats well and is willing to clarify anything. Also offers help before tests.
