He is active as a divorce lawyer, so his class starts 30 min late every week. His class is very lax. you have 1 assignment, 2 exams, and small quizes in the beginning of every class. He is funny and cool guy. you can get extra point if you go to his gym and play tennis together.

I liked this professor alot! Listening his lectures was pretty entertaining. Cool and funny guy. At times his quizzes and grading were confusing.

This man is amazing!!! He makes everything clear and understandable without making for a five year old. Theres alot of book work but its worth it. Plus he is one sexy mo fo.

Clear your mind and think logically. Take emotions out of your reading and thinking. Take good notes-as in write down everything he says even if he mentions Frosty the Snowman, show up for class and just try. Very high standard when it comes to writing. Not bad to look at, so there is a LOT of gigling in class.TRY to tune it out. Very conscientious

Although I think he talks way too much about his personal views (OJ was guilty, Obama sucks, Fox News rules), I must say he is one of the best professors I've had at CSN. He's intelligent, he makes the class fun, and he is able to explain difficult concepts in a way that is easy to understand. As long as you show up and try, you'll do fine.

If you come to class and pay attention, it's an easy A. He is clear, concise, helpful and funny. I don't agree with 80% of his political views, but I never once felt offended or belittled, which is cool. And when he doesn't know the answer to something, he doesn't pretend he does. Great class. Take it.

Awesome professor, has a tendency to go on tangents but stories are funny to hear sine he is an attorney. We begged him to run Legal Research II or Civil Procedure II class.

Dale is a great professor, yes we go off on tangents but they are intresting ones. He is clear, fair, and I would definately recommend his class. Small weekly quiz, mid term and final are on all the material, no tricks.Dale if you are reading this you should request Civil Procedure for the fall again, tell them you have a fan club....

If you pay attention, read your material, and attend class you will do just fine. He is very helpful and patient with new peolple or people who do not have previous legal backgroung and he does not undermind you because you don't (other professors do believe it or not). I am glad he is teaching Torts for the Fall otherwise I would've dropped.

He is the best professor, he's very helpful. He gives quizzes every week but that helps memorize everything for the mid term and the final. The only thing I could say he could improve is to not get off topic but he advices of that at the beginning and a lot of times you learn from his experiences. He's a very fun professor.

Dale is a great professor. He is interested in what he's teaching which makes it fun for the students. He gives quizzes every week but they are fairly easy. I recommend taking him if possible.

This is a fantastic class! Professor Kleven is an excellent instructor (very informative), and a lot of fun. Take plenty of notes, as he rarely uses the text, and there is a quiz each week. This class was a very positive learning experience for me, and just made me want to learn more!

I signed up for 3 classes this semester & this was the only one I completed. I enjoyed this class & Prof. Kleven. In the beginning I was worried about the class being 3hrs...but during the whole 3hrs there was never a dull moment! Take good notes and you'll get an A! Test/Quiz are on notes. Don't worry he'll repeat anything you didn't get.

This guy is an exceptional teacher. He really enjoys teaching and it shows. The classes are conversational and he values student opinions and isn't shy about having friendly banter. If you have the opportunity to take him, you absolutely should go out of your way to do so. Great guy. A++++

Final last night, last question-promise to rate my prof (for a point, why not?). Scattered brained, but knowledgeable. Crude, but personable. Quiz almost every week; mid-term/final from quizzes. Take notes, be prepared for a show each week. He comes in with a smile and loves to teach! And the students love to learn from him, high retention rate.

Great teacher! I had him for Torts and Legal Research I. He gives funny lectures and is very helpful. He seems to really care that students learn the material and understand it. I wish he taught more law classes.

Took this class the Spring 2011 semester, and it is easily the best class I have taken yet! If you show up to class, take notes, and read, this should be an easy A. It was also nice to have a conservative professor for once, but even nicer to have one that encourages you to think for yourself! I just wish Professor Kleven taught more classes!

By far the best Professor the Paralegal Program still has. His classes are not easy but his system helps anyone understand even the hardest concepts. I truly wish he taught more LAW classes at the Charleston Campus so I can take them all!

He kept me engaged the whole class. He does show up late ever so often. Classes where energized and fun. Read the book, take notes, and talk in class and you will pass.

Professor Kleven rocked it! He keeps your attention the entire class period. He explains everything thoroughly and relates to real life scenarios. I totally have a whole new way of thinking in depth about what people REALLY say or mean.Take good notes, read the chapter and you'll do fine. Prof. Kleven is a great prof. I enjoyed class. Attndce doesn't count, but if you miss you will be lost. Pay attn to lectrs & take exclnt notes. Everything he covers is on quizzes the following week. Not much txt bk use, but helpful if u miss a class. If poss. Take digital recorder.

The class itself is hard due to all of the complex concepts, but he helps out as much as possible. He tells you from the beginning that the midterm and final will be taken from the class material and quizzes. Read the chapter if you miss a class! He gives you every opportunity to pass the class with an A. Great teacher, wish he taught more classes.

Awesome prof! Really easy class if you are good at vocabulary. He makes the concepts easy to understand by making references that you can understand and enjoy. Super funny and laid back.

Great class and professor. It's one of those classes that you can immediately start applying what you learn in your everyday life. Attend class, take good notes, and study from them. Class was intense learning the first 3 chapters due to the complexity of the material.Thereafter, the learning became easy and was based on memorizing terms and applying them effectively. Prof. made class fun and interesting. Take notes and you will succeed. Weekly quizzes/midterm/final are based mostly from lecture, save all quizzes!

Love the class, but the first four weeks were hard to grasp. The Professor teaches the class from life experiences. Does not take attendance, but there is a quiz at the beginning of the class every week. Take notes on everything he lectures on, more than likely it will be on the quiz. Grades on the curve and gives opportunities for extra credit.

Super easy class, as long as you write notes and review them before class because of the quizzes. He will only quiz you on what he has taught in the previous class. He is very fair and you determine what grade your grade will be in the end by how much effort you put into the class.

The class in it self is hard to grasp but professor kelvin does his best to help you understand it. He keeps thing interesting with his stories and illustrations. Take notes on EVERYTHING as the quizzes/exams come from the lecture. He gives you plenty of chances to increase you grade you just have to care. Over all I enjoyed the class was very fun

This is honestly the best class I've ever taken. Professor Kleven is a really interesting guy and very straight forward. My class was more than 2 hours long and he managed to keep me awake all throughout. The class is very easy as long as you pay attention. There is quizzes every week on the lectures. Take him if you can!

Do the extra credit essays. Easy and adds amazing amount of points to your grade. Especially if you present it to the class as well. Prof. Kleven is a very interesting man with a lot to say. You will enjoy his class!

Philosophy in it self is a complex subject but professor kleven makes it easy to understand. Quiz during every lecture based on previous lecture(10 questions - pretty straight forward if you listen). If you understand the material and study b4 the quiz you will do well. Awesome professor, wish he taught more courses! you wont regret taking him!

Prof. Kleven is HILARIOUS! DO the 40 points worth of extra credit. This prof. lets you skip the final and take the grade you have if you want. Tough subject but he does well by making it interesting. He will take time to help you. He derails a lot but admits to it. STUDY class notes! Your text is worthless, he uses 6 different version of the text.

Professor Kleven is great. Attendance isn't mandatory but if you don't go, you won't pass. He gives a lecture each class then a quiz on that material in the next class. Then there's a midterm that consists of questions from the quizzes so keep those. Opt extra credit. If you like your grade, you don't have to take the final! Take his class!

He gives lectures and then quizzes you on them the following class. He's pretty chill, like the bad boy of the Philosophy department; he's so chill that he went came to class one time. If that's TMI, it's nothing compared to his lectures - they're filled with pop culture references. The class is not bad - if a slot is open, sign up.

CSN has Amazing professors but I don't think I'll find anyone that can top professor Klevin. People say he goes off topic but little did they know, those topics relate to the subject. He has a very unique personality. Hes funny and engaging. His class really taught me how to open my mind. Taught me stuff that I'll remember for a lifetime. 10/10

Professor Dale is awesome with a good sense of humor. I have great respect for him and for his background knowledge. He is a well educated professor not necessarily only academically but also you can have a decent conversation with him about any topic. By far his class was the most fun I had. I would love to attend his lectures again.

Class doesn't let out early often, but isn't boring. Grades are weekly quizzes on previous weeks class. Attendance is not graded, but its hard to pass a quiz on the previous week if you weren't there. Extra credit is in the syllabus so you have all semester to do it. To strengthen his words Dale told a story that once he enters some store, and there was a bunch of big guys inside showing a hesitation weakness by not knowing how to properly form the waiting line. I was honestly dreading PHIL102 but I'm so glad I picked his class. I actually look forward to this class every week, this has ended up being one of my favorite lectures. There isn't any homework but there is a quiz every class on the previous classes lecture. If you take good notes and pay attention you shouldn't have a problem.

The best Professor I have ever had. He's extremely bright and funny. He also challenges your way of thinking. I can't stress enough how great he is. Great professor, he was really funny. The hw we had was basically just to study for the next class since there is a quiz every class. But its pretty easy as long as you take notes and study them. Final was optional! Ended up with a B, if i had done the extra credit I'd have an A but was to lazy for that haha

I took this class from 6-8:50 pm. He keeps the class very interesting. Since it was three hour class I wouldn't recommend missing class since he does cover a lot of material. He does weekly quizzes on subjects discussed in the last class so make sure to take some notes. The book is not required but it is nice to have in handy. I suggest an e-book.

I took Prof. Kleven for Phil 102. and I absolutely loved the class! He's an amazing professor. He discusses current topics to keep the class engaged and relevant. You don't need NEED the book but it is helpful and attendance isn't mandatory, but I don't recommend skipping class b/c of the weekly quizzes on the previous class topic.
