Doesn't answer enough questions about homework.
best math teacher ever.
Awesome teacher. Drops lowest test and 4 lowest quiz scores. Important to come to class everyday for notes and complete all the homework packets and you'll do fine.
Very organized class. Fun and easy to understand! Must take her!!
BEST MATH TEACHER I EVER HAD AND WILL EVER HAVE. SHES FUNNY OUTGOING, EASY CLASS, I PULLED AN "A" WITHOUT STUDYING. TAKE THIS CLASS
BEST MATH TEACHER YOU CAN EVER HAVE
No Comments
she knows how to explain things well
one word...AWESOME!! she is the best math teacher ever!
best class ever! Easy A Must take class
Very easy and clear!! She's the BEST!!! Easy to get A!!!!
absolutely awesome!!! :o)
All math teachers need to learn from her! She is THE BEST math teacher I have ever had! As long as you listen in class and study, you will do well! She makes it all very easy to understand, and the notes we take are awesome! You go professor Nauta!!!
Great class, she explains very well and easy going. Her grading system is the best, i reccommend the class.
She is the best math teacher ever. great in teaching and helping. easy quizzes and exams. Funny and always happy.
Best Math teacher ever!!! I'm not good at math at all, but the way she explains the concepts really made sense and helped me to do well.
So easy I felt like I was in kindergarden

monumental teacher
The absolute best math instructor I've ever had. She is very patient and is willing to help if you're lost. Daily routine consists of going over the previous homework assignment in class followed by a tiny quiz to boost up your grade. Highly recommended!
She's a cool teacher.. very corny, but amusing. Her class is really easy.. in the lectures she explains every step in detail..almost TOO much at times. Just pay attention, do the work, and you'll get an A easily.
you NEED a teacher like that in math who makes it easy...someone who 'explains it in detail' when it comes to advanced math detailed explanation becomes mandatory. it REALLY DOES matter if u have a good teacher when it comes to math, otherwise... !
The best... Quizes everyday-but very easy. Goes over all material and you can ask questions any time. Very open minded. Test are like the quizes-so use your quizes as a study guide.
This teacher is awesome. I am not very good at math, but she was very easy to understand, very approachable about asking questions and very helpful. I would recommend her!
Great professor...easy quizzes...sympathetic...take her classes
You need a math teacher like Nauta. She is sooo nice and funny. Her class is easy if you do the homework and ask questions. She has quizzes every time class is but easy points, exams are not that as long as you study and do the homework!
LET ME JUST SAY THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IM TAKING HER FOR ANOTHER MATH CLASS. I DID MY SCHEDULE AROUND THIS CLASS. I LOVE LOVE LOVE HER CLASS. SHE MAKES MATH FUN AND EASY. TAKE HER CLASS!!!
Mrs. Nauta is ana amazing teacher! Honestly, I have never done well in math and finally I'm understanding everything! Although, you must be committed do doing your homework and attending class. If you do those two things, you will for sure do well! Best Teacher at OCC..for sure!
I really enjoyed taking her class. She is very clear at what she's teaching. I got an A in that class so just basically do your homework and go over your notes. Also a very nice teacher.
I dont know what all the talk is about her. Her point system is outrageous. Offers NO extra credit. Uses her Own crack head methods rather then the book when the books idea is MUCH eaiser. Annoying voice! Multipul Choice test which is HARD!! She doesnt even have a calculator! Take HIDDEN!
i love her if she were teaching my next math class i would base my schedule around her. she is so nice and answers any questions you have. it's college come on now you don't need extra credit. do your homework...pay attention in class...and take the quizzes and you'll be fine. i RECOMMEND her.
I was lucky enough to have her for both 10&30. Im am Mathmatically inept, and if it werent for her way of teaching and her notes, I would have failed. Great professor, but hard to get into her class, its very popular.
MATH IS N0T EASY BUT IT IS NAUTA MADE IT FEEL THAT WAY, SHE MADE THE LETURE NOTES VERY EASY TO UNDERSTAND AND HAD A NICE SENSE OF HUMOR.
She goes very slow and explains everything very well, plus she is more than happy to put extra time into you if you need it
I took her class for math 10 and she helped me to understand math like I never had before.I have now had her for all three of the classes she teaches 10,30,and 100.She is one of the best teachers anywhere and she is a babe! If you struggle with math she is the answer.
very nice and helpfull teacher. the class is not very easy (1/4 of the people dropped out), but if you try in the class you will pass. 65%-79% is a C, so as long as you get everything a 65% or higher you will be fine
VERY easy understanding. lectures are always 100% clear. Made everything a breeze. I did not try, and got a B+
very good class best math teacher I have ever had
great teacher. best teacher i ever had. i had her last semester for math 010 and i've got her again for math 030. she definitely knows her stuff. not boring at all.
explains very clearly and goes slow, sometimes so slow that it's boring, but that's because one person in the class complained about not enough review. quizzes are super easy
She is a really good teacher however the only thing that sucks is that you take a quiz EVERYDAY! so if you miss a class thats -10pts. the tests are pretty hard but overall it's a good class. You can't slack off in this class homework everyday.
Nauta is a great professor. she makes math completely simple and eassy to understand. Her notes are extremely helful. I REALLY recommend her. she is the best math teacher i have ever had.
You can do pretty much nothing and get a B but its pretty hard to get an A, no extra credit, but teaches you the material well.
Very orginized, always under schedule; just do your homework and attend class and you will be fine.
Love, love, loved her. She is by far one of the best teachers I have ever had. She always explained everything so well and will help you out if able. Her test are not hard but also not easy. Study and do the work and you will be fine. I got an A
She was the most awesome teacher I've ever had. I hate math but she made me like it while in her class. And she always has the kindest smile on her face. I wish she would teach math 130! :(
Great teacher. She makes learning fun!!!
Nauta is such a great teacher...she really knows how to teach! she goes over the material thoroughly. i hate math with a passion, but i passed both classes with an A. her quizes and exams are pretty easy. she might speak to us as if we're little kids, but, overall, i really liked her.
Nauta is super great. She is helpful...do all the homework and take notes and you'll do fine. Even if you hate math. Ask questions. Copy answers she reviews in class.
Awsome teacher, highly recommended. She is very helpful and knows how to make the material easy. Just be sure that you keep up with the homework and you will be alright.
Wonderful teacher! Wish I had her as a math teacher when she was still working at Woodbridge High. Take her class! Take her class! Take her class! :)
The greatest MATH teacher ever!!! She is the best!! If you are looking to succeed in Math her class is for you.....you leave her class with a strong Algebra foundation that is key if you are planning to take more math or science courses!!
Funny, explains everything well, if you do the homework and attend class everything else is cake.
I loved this teacher, se was so helpful to me and always very friendly. I like the way she's witty and sometimes jokes around in class, and tries not to take it too seriously. VERY good teacher, I'm not good at math but she helped me understand...
Awesome Teacher! I hate math. She made it easy for me. I passed with a B+ i thought it was impossible
Great teacher! She is very helpful and funny! If you have a question she wont move on without making sure everyone understands. Easy A

Goot teacher. She was definitely one of my favorite teachers at OCC
She is awesome! I'm not a math person at all, and I actually understood what was going on.
nauta is a great professor and i'm glad to be in her class
Best teacher ever! She's so easy, quiz daily but they are so simple! 2 Questions each quiz, total 10 points. Test every 2-3 weeks or so, 20 questions total 100 points. She curves the grades too! **HIGHLY RECOMMENDED**
she's a nice teacher. I hate math and she made it fast and a class you aren't falling asleep in. She does move fast and towards the end of the year she gets lazy and doesnt show you an example problem all the way through. The way she grades is cool cause she drops a quiz and test, you will pass even if you suck at math. Do your HW it will help!
great teacher.. very easy class, great study guide.. just go with the guide and do the homework, easy A! however, do not read the book! it confuses most of the people who reads it.. go with the examples in class and the homework, get a good calculator too! plus, join the study groups.. i'll be there to help you out! :)
great personality
If you like to be pampered, take her! :)
LOVE HER!
shes not the worst prof at OCC but she's far from the best. she seems nice on the outside but she can be nasty if she has to stray from her bare minimun requirements as a professor to accomidate someone (me) due to a well documented illness. stay on her good side, do the homework, get an A
Amazing teacher! Lectures are clear and straight to the point. She covers easy & hard problems. Routine: take notes, do homework (very easy), get quizzed, then test at the end of the chapter. Practically hands you the A. But like any math class, try to be there everyday!!
If ur not gona keep up,dont waste ur time becuz like any math, its builds.Shes so sweet, she reaches out to those people who hate math so that u wont hate it nemore,it is so organized that it will improve ur grade cuz shes so informative.Shes not tricky, very clear & systematic-so important 4 math!I love the CLASS but i hate the SUBJECT,shes great!
I used to hate math and thought it was the hardest thing. But she makes it so much better. She is so clear and teaches you exactly what you need to know for the test. She grades on everyday quizzes, hw, and tests. Be there everyday and pay attention. The A should be achievable.
Interesting class. This teacher really knows how to teach. If you need help too shes always willing to lend a hand. If this is the only math class you'll ever take then remember to always keep up with the hw because slacking in the class will seriously kill you.
Professor Nauta's class was good. The only problem is when she was lecturing, all I could think about was sleeping with her.
Professor is very helpful, she babies the lesson by having multi colors to explain what is going on. Her quizzes are easy, but you have one every day. If you come to class you will have no problem passing.
Great teacher. She does go very fast, but all math teachers do the same. Quizzes are each class, with 1-2 problems each and partial credit. If you go to every class and do the homework, you will do fine. Every class starts with homework review, quiz, and ends with new material. She answers all questions and the time flies by.
GOOD TEACHER. ALWAYS ASK QUESTIONS IF YOU DON'T EVEN IF ITS STUPID. THAT WAS MY REGRET AND ON THE TEST THAT SAME PROBLEM CAME UP AND I KNOW IDEA HOW TO SOLVE SO DON'T DO THAT!! HER QUIZZES ARE EASY BUT YOU JUST HAVE TO SOLVE IT RIGHT.
One of the most positive prof. i've met so far. She is very helpful and easy going. If you are not good in math, don't worry, just take good notes/do hw in this class and i guarantee an A.
great professor...she tries to make math fun even though its a very difficult and boring subject. her grading system is fair and her homework assignments arent very long. i hate math, but did pretty well in her stats class...recommended!
I suck at math and have to work harder than most because of a learning disability, but I was still able to get an "A" in the class. She's straightforward and doesn't try to confuse you on the test. Unlike most teachers, she realizes that most people in the class are just trying to meet a requirement and isn't offended if you don't like the subject.
Im pretty bad at math and i managed to get a B. You do have to keep up and do the homework in order to get a good grade though, our class had a study session b4 class, and also, it helps to go to the math lab the night b4 hw & quiz is due. Go to class too, you don't want to get lost... class is intresting for math.
Great teacher! Great class! I only need to say one thing..."Happy days are here again" (Take her class-you'll get it"
I missed this class a couple times but I did fine. Honestly, this was my easiest class. It's not that hard. I basically taught it myself, never studied, and still got a B. I would take Nauta again because the notes are easy and easy to get from other people. If you're good in Algebra, good in Stats too.
She was a really great teacher. You needed to be in class though in order to understand what was going on. I missed a few classes and the using the textbook, it was hard to teach myself. Other than that, it's a really easy class to take for your needed credits.
Nauta-Awesome! Awesome! If you can’t pass this class I don’t know which one you will. : (
Great teacher, easy to understand, and keeps the class from being a boring lecture by splitting it with application of the material.
i took her for math 30 and 100. im one of those students who absolutely hate maths but she made it easy and understandable. Not really fun but i love her way of teachin. she is sweet and kind of easy on grades too.....highly recommended
she is so cute and does an excellent job teaching. her notes are very organized and she has taught the class so many times that she knows how to explain it adequetely. if math is difficult for you take her!
She is the best math prof i've ever had. I love the way she teaches because it is so easy to understand. I suck at math and i got an A. Quiz everyday except test days. She collects hw on test days but dont cram bcuz they will help you for the quiz. Definately RECOMMENDED!
Math isn't my kind of subject but I must say that she makes it so understandable! She even has the notes ready for us and we just had to buy it for about $5-$6. If you want to learn something, I definitely recommend Dale Nauta!
I have always struggled with math but I can say that she is the BEST math instructor I have ever had...I just wished she would teach @ my current school....teachers like her are hard to come by!I enjoyed her so much I took two classes w/ her.
cool. definitely knows how to teach. dont be late on quiz days cuz then shell mark hw half off- doesnt really chek hw, only sees if 1 prob (of her choice) is correct. i was points away from an A, but still got a B. the late HW screwed me over. but take her.
I hate math, but I managed through it all right. The class is crowded, but there isn't anything else to really grind about. She isn't hard on the eyes, either. Overall: a decent experience.
I had to drop her class. i went in thinking that she was going to make math fun and easy, but she didnt.her examples do not help you or prepare you for her quizzes. You take a quiz every other class meeting, and the last test, the highest score someone got was LOW C AND SHE STILL DIDNT CURVE!Do not recommend!
Do not take her. Boring class. To many quizzes. Does not teach much. Expects u to know everything.
Class was pretty easy, but I think I relied on the book more than her teaching. I had an A throughout the semester but a B- on the Final made me drop to a B+ :( There's homework and a quiz due every week and she takes 4 problems from homework and puts it on the quiz. Tests are about every 3 weeks or so and there's a Final.
She is an outstanding teacher.
Great teacher. Clear, helpful. I hate math, but I still managed to get an A in the class, after being out of school for two years.
her lectures are very clear, straightforward, and organized. i suck at math but this class wasn't too bad. her office hrs weren't accessible for me but the math tutor, mohammed, was very very helpful. i probably wouldn't have gotten an A if it weren't for him. quizzes and tests are easy if u take time to study.
Mrs. Nauta is the best math teacher I ever had! She is very helpful and very kind. I am not at all fond of math but I must say, take her class and you will do just fine. Just make sure you don't procrastinate on the homework.
She's cool, and very nice, but very strict on her grading system. She claims that in stats, you dont need to be exact, and a little off, but in her grading system, stats arent included. but overall good teacher.
In class you complete handouts that help you understad what you will be tested on. HW is graded and if you dont do it your grade will drop. She will not help you on HW makes you ask other students and/or go to math center. Will not grade on scale. Easy if you have time to do the work.
Cool teacher! Tries to make algebra essay and clear for students. Wants everyone to pass. You need to study a lot for this class for good grade. Have quiz almost every class day and test can be hard if you do not study. There is HW almost every class period and due on day of tests. Take her if you can do the studying on your own!
I took 100 & 160 with her. It was okay..not soo difficult..I like her study guide and study notes because it is very clear.Keep and Study the quizes you take...it will be on your exam. You have to go to class everytime to earn points. Not easy A but you can get at least B if you study.
I had Ms. Nauta for Math 10, 30, & 160 and she is wonderful! Make sure and come to class b/c she gives a lot of great short cuts to problems. Also, do the homework, it will save you if you do poorly on a test. The test aren't easy, but if you study, you'll do fine. She is very nice and extremely helpful!
this woman give me so much hope because she makes algebra fun(as fun as math can be) and easy to understand. the study guides will save your life and her positive silly attitude will help you get through the long lectures on rational expressions. if you are math retarded like me, you need to take her. she will change your life.
I am really bad at math, but she made it seem so easy and fun. She has a great personality and is very enthusiastic. Her quizzes were some of the easiest I have ever taken in a math class. AWESOME TEACHER!!
She is a really great math teacher. I suck at math and was dreading statisics, but it was actually the easiest math I've taken. I never fell asleep once. I got about a B in the class, and never had to work real hard. If you study, you can get an A.
Don't skip any classes, go to all the study halls, get a tutor from the tutorial center if you need one, do all of the homework (because that will save you) and study hard. The most important thing to remember is it is ALL ABOUT THE POINTS! She does not curve, and she does not bend on her point system.
She does a great job teaching this course. I would recommend her.
easy B, hard A. you need to study thoroughly to get an A. 3 25 question test multiple choice. one of the test we took was 20 questions. miss about 2 or 3 if you want to stay in the A range. some tricky questions.
Like previously said, easy B/C, hard A. if you study and keep up to date with the material you can do it. she has a guy that you can meet with in the library before and after the class as a study group. tests are 25 MC about every three chapters with one encompassing like, 8. final is cumulative. if you have to take stats, take her class.
Quite possibly the best prof. EVER. Quizzes (2 questions) daily but preps you right before them so they're practically an automatic A. Has review day before tests to go over any questions. Never makes you feel stupid if you don't understand a concept. Do everything you can to TAKE HER CLASS! (Gives you nearly verbatim whats gonna be on the final)
se is really nice I love her teaching technigue she is always smile during her teaching you can ask her questions she will explain to you. you need to study if you want to get a A I got a A in her class but I love math
I am so thankful i took her for Math! I'm not a strong math student, and i got an A in her class! :) But i put the effort into it! I did my homework every night and attended every class. She is a wonderful lecture, and very good at explaining math. She'll drop your lowest test grade. She works with you because she REALLY wants you to succeed!
Lots of points on quizzes/homework so do yourself a favor and find someone from last semester who kept theirs because she has two forms and reuses them. I am not a Math person and was way happy to get out with a high B. I even knew what I was doing. I would highly recommend her.
Not too painful! she's super cute and understands that most people taking stats hate math. The homework amount is totally managable and she is very good at simplifying the concepts. Very strict grading rubric, but there are a lot of different ways you accumulate points, not just tests.
She is a really great math teacher. shes not confusing, but really tries to help her students understand the material.its an easy A or B if you get the math. You can only miss 2 days. test and quiz days youll get out at least half and hour early. she goes over any question before quizzes. Overall a great math teacher.
She is the best of all math teachers!!! I hate math. I am not the brightest person when it comes to numbers, but trust me when i say she was very helpful. I need a teacher that explains everything step by step and she does that. Don't miss class do all the homework and the quizzes and exams will come easy!
AMAZING PROFESSOR! I was beyond horrible at math until I met her. She breaks it down step by step and really makes sure her students grasp the material completely. She makes class fun, interesting, and totally understandable. Definitely one of OCC's greatest professors! Take her class! You will definitely love her!!!
I failed algebra 4 times, geometry 4 times, algebra two 4 times and now that I am in Stats for the first time with Nauta I am getting a A! If you suck at math, look no further because you have found the answer to your prays. Ladies and Gentlemen, introducing....(Drum roll)... DALE NAUTA the worlds best math teacher! No joke.
Unbelievable teacher. She is extremely clear in her lectures. You have to be a completely moron to fail her class. She definitely knows her stuff. She's kinda cute too.
Best math teacher ever. Makes it super simple and walks you through everything. Her notes were very helpful.
7 quizzes (she drops the lowest one), 7 hw assignments (easy work, and the points will really help your grade), 3 tests and a final. Prof Nauta is amazing. Explains things clearly and is always available if you need help. She even shows videos about how stats is used in real life. I also took her for Math 30 and she was just as great. Take her!!!!!
The best math teacher I've ever had. The course material is hard for most people but she's good at what she does and has reasonable expectations. If you're doing transfer stuff, take this P/NP and get an easy C. There's a quiz every class, but she doesn't actually care if you don't show up. You'll just lose the points. I recommend her.

Pretty easy class. All you have to do is pay attention and do the homework, and you should do well on the tests. I am definitely happy that I took her class. Highly recommended!
Good professor. Go to class and go to the study sessions when you need help and not when it's too late. Gives you a sheet with all the stat. formulas and allows you use it on the exams. Make sure you know how to plug in numbers correctly into the calculator!!!!!
if you hate math you NEED to take her class! she makes math an easy subject. the class is easy at first nothing too hard, its the middle and some of the end thats really difficult. I recommend going to tudoring before class.
I am terrible at math and I hate the subject but Dale Nuata made it really clear and easy. She explains it realy well and if you pay attention in her class, do the homework and occasional free tutoring it should be a breeze. she cares about her students and is a really nice gal.
I despise math in any form but nauta made stats not just bearable, but enjoyable! She definitely understands that students are taking stats because they are trying to get out of math. The homework load is NOT BAD AT ALL. About an hour and a half of hw every two weeks. Tests are never as hard as you think they will be. Take stats with nauta!
Great professor. Attendance is important if you want to keep up. It's not a difficult class and the workload is manageable. I'm no fan of math, but I am so glad she was my math teacher. She made the subject bearable.
Well she's a great Professor, but the class it self is super super hard!! Attendence is MANDATORY!! Homework and Tutoring with Mohammad is a must if you want to pass! Nauta her self is not bad, But you must pay alot of attention in class!!
Very very good teacher! I really enjoyed her. If you are taking math 30 and you are not very good at math definitely take her! She's pretty funny and she is also very helpful.
She is really energetic. She has a tutor for the class that works just for this class, which is really helpful. She teaches straightforward and the hw is light, took me about 15 minutes a day. Good class. Lectures can be a bit boring, but a good class.
I hate my math, i stuggle in it but she was so helpful and makes the material easier for you to understand, plus there is a great tutor named Jenny L. in the tutoring center that can also help you. Go to class and do the homework and dont slack and you will be fine!!!! shes very nice, understanding, and wants to see her students do well
Shes great and funny. To pass the class, attend class and use your clicker, pay attention and write down all of the examples she gives, do the homework, study a bit before the test, and youll do fine. There are 7 hw assignments, 7 quizzes (lowest score will be dropped), 3 exams and one final.(Exams and Final are 25?'s on Scantron). Easy B, hard A.
This is by far the best math teacher! She is really happy all of the time. Wants every student to do well. She is willing to help anyone understand something that is unclear. She sets up a tutor for your class in case you need it. Attendance is mandatory. If you do the homework and study you will pass the class! Highly recommend!
Great teacher! She is very clear when she explains. I highly recommend her
First off all, let me say that she is SO HOT!! She is 4'9", an older lady, but extremely gorgeous. She is very fit and looks like she is in her late 20s, beautiful. With that being said, she is a great teacher. She makes the hardest things so easy to understand. Do the HW and You'll do well. A+++
I'm not a big fan of math. But she makes math quite fun and easy to understand just as long as you do your homework the exams will be easy peasy! (:
She is by far the best teacher I've ever had in college. She really wants her students to do well. Her tests and quizzes are not that hard if you know the material. I hate math and it took me 5 years to get through algebra and I'm passing her class with a B. She's the best.
What else is there to say? I think everyone has said it. Great professor. Take her if you can.
Great professor! Love her.
Great teacher and I had no idea about stats. She was very clear. Cant miss class and need the textbook. Although I liked her I was 2 points away from getting a B in the class and she wouldnt give it to be so I received a C, semi easy class.
Great teacher.
I got A's on the easy quizzes, always did my HW, & A/B's on tests. I for sure thought I was going to get an A until that fricken final. First off, that thing covers EVERYTHING you learned, & to top that off only 25 ?'s, worth 4 pnts each. My final grade was 6 pnts away from an A. She also does NOT offer ANY extra credit, THOUGH SHE SHOULD!
If you want an A in this class, you have to do ALL the work & get A & B's on everything. For me it was super easy & I LOVE math! I went everyday, did all my HW, got A/B's on everything. She warns u that she is strict w/ grades & believe me SHE IS! If you are a couple pnts away from the next grade, u r staying where u r at! She should offer E.C.
She is the best math teacher I have EVER had. She explains things so well and is extremely helpful, she replys to e-mails quickly and has plenty of office hours.I got a B in the class when I usually struggle to pass a math class. Just stay on top of the HW, which isnt hard.
She was helpful towards me and many students. Patient. I had her for many math classes and she had a positive attitude that made the learning experience fun.
She teaches very well, clear and not too complicated. There aren't too much HW's. and there is one thing you need to get an A/B in this class. BE THERE.
Nauta's is very funny and helpful. I totally recommend stats with her. With any questions, you can go to her office and she'll walk you through them. One quiz is dropped but no extra credit. If you can do Algebra 1, you can do this class.
I did not understand her class, she makes a lot of mistakes and goes way too fast.
The way Nauta teaches is a bit fast, but really its just a bunch of formulas where you plug in numbers, There's 15 pt quizzes and hw you have to turn in every couple weeks and 3 exams and a final which is a really easy final she also gives you a Table A where you can write whatever you want and use it on the exams and final
Dale Nauta is a woman, although her name would lead you to believe otherwise. She is little, buff and speaks with jazz hands...which is awesome and automatically hot. She is great at teaching statistics. She couldn't make a difficult subject any easier, take her class if you need it. If you are a decent student you will accel in her class.
Mrs. Nauta is awesome. She is really helpful and knowledgeable. She wants you to succeed, so it's up to you do the work. Lots of homework, but worth every attempt at it.. makes the tests not so hard!!!!
First of all math is not my subject. Dale is a extremly good prof. she expnlains every step 4 every problem. u reli cant b confused, just go 2 class pay attention & ull do great. The only thing is she starts moving reli fast, we learned 2 sections a day(rushed)no time to reli digest wat she said, but ull get it if u go home & read over the notes, lowe
GR8 Professor! Learned ALOT from her. Her class is really easy as long as you attend, take notes and do the HW. Her tests are based on all the notes and homework helps! Do the HW! She goes through every problem and makes sure you understand. I love her! I'm totally taking her for Math 160 (statistics). Way to go Nauta, you're the best! :)
In class she's nice but when you go up to her and ask questions she is a totall B. She doesnt want to help other than during class.
Awesome Professor - her only objective is for you to pass the class, her notes can be bought at the bookstore or can be downloaded online - she breaks down step by step on problems for you to understand - her tests are simple as long as YOU DO THE HW - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!!!!!!!!!
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. she is a great teacher and you learn a lot but know that this is not the class you want to take at a CC. she will not round your grade even if it's just a few points. there is no extra credit and you can only miss 40 out of 400pts to maintain an A.
WORST CLASS I HAVE EVER TAKEN. Her teaching style might work for some people but she was terrible for me. everything is confined to these little typed up notes and she is not every helpful in helping you understand the subject. Granted, it was a lecture class so individual attention was sure to be nonexistent. Don't take this class.
i hated this class. her teaching method is boring and she is not good at communicating what she's trying to teach. i wish someone had warned me... or that the reviews on this site were more accurate. do yourself a favor and take someone else for statistics!
I took her for stats and she was a really good professor except for she doesnt really teach how to use the calculator so learn it on your own right away. She has these notes packets which you do in class that are so helpful and she gives you this cheat sheet that you can use in every class. The HW due on the quiz days are tricky but not bad
for all the people bagging on her that she isnt a good professor you probably just expected a walk in the park. I never had to pay attention in any other class but this one but it was the first and last math i had to take. You have to man up and pay attention, take notes, and do the homework. Dont bad mouth her because you couldnt handle college
She's great. You need to come to every class and do the homework and then the tests will be simple. Highly recommend her; she's very clear and helpful.
She is a great teacher! I highly recommend her. She offers a free tutor's name in the student center, which is great help. Also answers questions about lecture in the middle of the class.
This class was very straight-forward. If you studied from your notes and made sure you did all of your homework assignments, it's very possible to get an A. She's an entertaining math professor and breaks everything down for you into digestible parts. She is very creative in how she interacts with her class. Make sure you take this for your Stats.
Shes so cute, i could put her in my pocket. I hate math and usually dread math class. But she made factoring and radicals interesting. Can she teach or what! Sign up for her. Waitlist if you have to. I'll for sure take her for stats. There isnt much room to move around in the lecture halls but its worth it having her teach the class.
I failed Math 30 three times and tested into this class finally. I'm terrible at math and barely pay attention and I still managed a C in her class. She makes it almost impossible to fail as long as you go to class and do your homework (it's all odd questions with answers in the back of the book). She let's you use a cheat sheet for tests/quizzes
Made class enjoyable. Come prepared and take notes (one class can leave you behind). Make sure you study for tests!! Even missing 3 questions can kill you in the end. Missed an A by 7.5 pts. Drops lowest quiz grade and very passionate about subject.
5 exams 100 points each (lowest one dropped), 60 points from the iclicker participation, 6 homework assignments worth 10 points each and final exam worth 200 points. She is by far the easiest Math 30 professor cuz she goes over math 10 material basically the first half of the semester. Exams are 20 questions each.
Nauta is a funny and knowledgeable professor. She cares about her students and is very clear in what she expects. Do not slack off even though she does drop the lowest quiz grade. Every point counts, so try not to miss any class time. All the notes are important, and you might not understand if you just copy notes off of someone else.
Great teacher, statistics is not an exceptionally fun class but she tries really hard to make it fun and interesting. very straightforward, theres a quiz like every week which helps u keep up in studying. tests were suprisingly easier than the quizzes. I still dont fully understand statistics but i got an A :)
She's nice but very intimidating. I'm horrible at math and tried taking her 2x but dropped. I sat front row center and completely paid attention. She kind of makes you feel as if you can't ask questions when you dont understand and has said before "If you dont get this, you shouldn't be here." If you know the subject well take her, if not stay away
She's an okay teacher. Personally she doesnt give an adequate amount of points to do well in her class. Only 3 tests and the second includes 8 chapters. My advice, take someone else for stats!
Class policies are different from her algebra class. The homework is graded on correctness of the answers rather than timeliness (though timeliness still counts). All homwork chapters are graded this time. there are also quizzes, and only 15 clicker points rather than 60. No extra credit.
The tests in this class are pretty straight-forward and clear, no trick questions. Some of the HW probs were harder then the tests or quizzes. I highly recommend taking Prof Nauta for stats, her lecture packets and worksheets that you can buy or print yourself made things a lot simpler. She gives a lot of points, so make sure to keep up the work!
7 quizzes, 7 HW assignments, and 3 tests. The second tests has a lot of chapters so study up. You have to but a clicker which is worth 15 points of participation. Overall, I think it was a very fair class. The HW questions that she grades are harder than test questions. I would recommend taking her.
She is seriously the best math teacher I have ever had. Her homework load is totally reasonable and all the notes she covers are all problems that will be on the test. She has a great attitude and is always willing to help you. I love her and wish the world had more teachers like her.
I would love to take one of her classes again. She made the class and material easy and understandable for me.
Love her. Any professor willing to stand in front of a 100 seat class and bust out a rap she wrote for her students that are struggling with Factoring is amazing. Take her, her main goal is total comprehension of the subject and she succeeds.
So far she is an AMAZING math professor that I have taken so far. Her test are just 20 problems and she provides a lot of clarification. She really loves her students and does anything to help us out. She made me love math again. She ALWAYS smiles and it's just adorable. Enroll in her class, she's just one of those professors that is wonderful.
I am horrible at math--literally took algebra 5 times before I passed--so I was shocked to do so well in Nauta's statistics class. She makes it easy and fun; she is hilarious and so nice. Just do the homework (she assigns the odds so the answers are in the back) and read the chapter before coming to class and you'll do well. Highly recommended!
I took intermediate algebra with her and let me just say that SHE IS THE BEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD. Seriously, she explains things VERY clearly, answers HW questions and makes some funny jokes here and there. She is awesome.
Loved her! I hate math, but she breaks everything down for you in a comprehensible way. She knows not everyone loves the subject the way she does and tries to make the class interesting. I'm sad I'm not taking her for Stats. Ask her to do the Factor Rap for you :)
She makes it pretty easy, you just have to copy notes, and do your homework. No extra credit is given, she won't bump up grades that are close to the border either. The quizes are hand written, the tests are multiple choice, and one quiz is dropped. I would recommend her.
Dale Nauta is the BEST Math professor at OCC. Her exams are not easy, but she is very fair. If you complete each of the online homework assignment and bring your clicker to class, you should pass this class. The HM/Clicker points equal one exam and she drops the lowest scoring exam. She is an enthusiastic professor; and a very nice one at that.
Great professor! I see how this class could be challenging but she lets you use a page of notes on the tests/quizzes. Seriously just write the problems from your lecture notes onto your cheat sheet because her quizzes are pretty much the same questions. She also drops your lowest quiz. Homework is a lot harder than the tests/quizzes. Got an A
In fairness to her had no knowledge of this subject beforehand. I did not click with her. She gives no extra credit and suggested when I asked for help that I might should take course twice. I dropped her and went to Psyche Stats and got a B. She does not go out of her way for students. Get it during class or forget it. Too long on the job.
LOVE HER. Seriously you are so lucky if you get her class. She breaks everything down SO crystal clear, if you do the homework and study for the tests you should definitely get an A for sure.
I loved her, she's very energetic! At first it took me awhile to get the hang of her style of teaching. But I like how the notes she teaches off are easy to understand since they are printed out sheets. Quizzes are easy, exams are more difficult but you can use your note sheet. She really tries to come up with creative ways to get you to understand
She is great! take her! he's super nice and friendly. she makes the class fun and the time goes by fast. no extra credit but gives you chance at the end to improve your hw grade. Do it! it helps a lot. test are only 20 questions and sometimes lets you use an index card of notes. go to class everyday and take notes
LOVED HER. She made the class really enjoyable. Her tests are very fair. Take this class!
I have had the great pleasure of taking two math courses with the best math professor at Orange Coast College - and she is Dale Nauta. No math class is easy, but she is very fair. She wants her students to succeed. She is very knowledgeable and very clear in her teaching style. She will make learn as well as make you laugh. Take her class!
Nauta is a great professor. The homework assignments were all online and very easy, though I slacked off and got a 'B' as an overall grade. The 5 exams and 2-part final exams were pretty straight forward and easy if you studied. She made a few mistakes during lecture but it's the students' job to point it out. Only 'con?' is you have to speak clear
Only take stats with Professor Nauta. Buy the book, do ALL the homework and you should be great. She lets you have a "cheat sheet" aka table A for all tests, quizzes &the final. I put all my notes on there but since I did all the homework I barely used it b/c I already knew it. EASY TO GET AN A IF YOU TAKE TIME TO ASK QUESTIONS &GET HELP!
Amazing professor, knows how to teach and makes everything clear. I failed stats in HS but I got an A easily without any struggles. Test and quiz questions straight forward. As do your homework, it is enough!
She's an ok teacher. I can see why people would like her, but I don't. What I dislike most about her is that she laughs at her students when they ask a question, even if its just for clarification. She makes you feel dumb. She actually asked us "does anyone in here know anything?" when lecturing on one of the hardest chapters of the course. Rude!
I can see why people enjoyed her class however, if you don't understand math, don't take her class. She constantly makes mistakes and makes problems very difficult to understand because she does it "her way". Plus, doing 40-120 homework questions a week was stressful for a class that doesn't have a good grade scale. Book not required.
She comes off as a nice teacher, but her teaching style can use improvement. I do not like the mymathlab that was used for the course, as she assigns way too much hw, & does not cover all the material in class. I spend an average of 12 hrs a week, doing the online portion. In the end, I missed the concepts bc I spent too much time doing busy work.
She's a good math teacher , but math is math. So much homework I wanted to die. Every class was about 2 hours of homework. I checked online where you have yo do the homework, I had spent 58 hours that semester doing homework. The tests are hard as well. There is basically no way to get an A and I got a B. Lectures are confusing. Quiz everyday, easy
I normally hate math but with this teacher isn't too bad. You do have to work for your grade because there is a good amount of homework but she's helpful if you ask.
Best stats professor at OCC-must take her! There is A LOT of hw and online assignments. Easy one group project. You will do well on the quizzes and tests if you study her notes and examples as well as read the summary portion after each chapter.
She is one of the best professor in OCC
She's awesome. Great lectures, funny and precise. She gives you the information to be successful. Easy to get an A if you do the work. MUST TAKE
Her teaching style is good and easy to understand . Easy quiz at the beginning of the class (this will improve your grades) . Homework online - no big deal ! If you didn't catch up the subject ask her right away during the lecture . Free textbook :)
I had to drop Stats the semester before because I couldn't get the material and I was getting D's on my tests. I took it with her and she made LOVE stats!!! She's personable and quirky and she's absolutely brilliant. She has been one of my favorite teachers at OCC. I ended the class with an A+!
Great teacher. Always vibrant and is patient when students need help. The classes are never boring like a typical math class. 3 tests and a final. 6 quizzes (drop-low score) and DO THE WORK. For a class that is really hard, her teaching makes it possible to get an A. If I loved math and she taught other math courses, I would take again.
This class requires a lot of homework--and believe it or not, a group project, in a lecture hall! It's not that hard if you've been paying attention in class. It's all easy since she lets you use a cheat-sheet on tests and quizzes. In the end, you'll miss her weird dances and music taste--probably one of the coolest math teachers on campus!
5 Exams, a quiz and homework packet after every 3 chapters. Homework is pretty difficult, but as long as you show work/finish, you get full credit. The class is pretty fair, just go to class, print our your lecture notes, and copy/learn what she is teaching and you'll do fine. You get a huge cheat sheet for every quiz and test as well.
Best Math professor I have ever had at OCC. The class is super easy; just show up, take notes, do the clicker questions, and do the homework. Quizzes are FR and easy as long as you do the homework and utilize your Table A (cheat sheet). Exams are MC, but more conceptual. Overall, she is great and super funny. Only take her for Stats!
Exceptional instructor who genuinely cares about the success of students. In order to pass her class with a good grade, e.i., an A or B, you will need to finish homework assignments(time consuming), finish additional online homework(time consuming), group project, class participation is important(grade boost), try your best on quizzes and exams.
Homework is required (its tedious and it's a lot of it), online homework and online quizzes are also required (tedious and takes a lot of time), class participation through clickers (grade booster) is expected, along with a group project (grade booster), quizzes, and exams (expect a lot of quizzes and exams). You'll do well if you're disciplined.
One of the best professors I've had at OCC! She is so passionate about math and her students. She's always willing to answer any questions students may have. I'm not a good student when it comes to math but I managed to get a B in her class. She lets you use a cheat sheet for tests! WRITE ALL FORMULAS DOWN! Quizzes and homework are easy!
Professor Nauta is the best math teacher at Orange Coast College. I had her my first semester in college for math 30. Even though her classes are lectures, she is very good at engaging with the class and making it fun. I then took her for math 160 after taking her the first time because I loved her! Math is not my strongest subject but she helped!
I used to hate math, but she is absolutely amazing! I have never had such a clear understanding of math and how this will apply to the real world. I took the hybrid class which I loved since I work full time and we met once a week for 2 hours. She is so caring for her students and wants you to do well. Take her! You won't regret it! :)
Likely the best math prof at OCC. Lecture heavy, but still engaging. There's quite a bit of homework and it's quite tedious, but I made it through. I really appreciate the real life examples she gives. She'll also surprise you once in a while. I won't spoil, but get ready to laugh. 3 exams, 1 final.
Such an awesome Professor. I took the Hybrid class, lots of homework online but it's definitely manageable if you're self-disciplined. We meet once a week for two hours and she goes over the chapters thoroughly until she makes sure you understand them. Her tests are VERY reasonable. Work hard and you'll get an A or B. I'm definitely gonna miss her!
I took her Stats hybrid class on friday and passed it with a 98%! Do all LearnSmart homework. There are 3 exams. I got 100% on the first one! Prepare for them by looking at her "Exam Study Guide Review" and make sure u know the concepts. Then look at her lecture written notes PDF. Group project is easy, just make sure u group with the right people.
SHE WAS SO AMAZING. Super funny, lectures were so clear and made so much sense. Easy tests. Not too much homework. She keeps the class engaged during lectures and will answer questions without making you feel dumb. Highly recommend taking her. She's awesome
Print the notes, come to class, do the homework!! It's a lot of online homework and textbook problems but they definitely help you with the tests. She's really nice and her lectures are fun! Definitely made statistics more enjoyable and easier to understand. Make sure you STUDY and ask for help if you need it. She's a fair grader.
The textbook is required. I was lost most the time during her lectures, even when I try my best. She assigns a LOT of homework. Online and on paper. She is very nice teacher
She is honestly one of the best math professors. She really tries to help you and makes sure she answers every single question. Luckily there aren't many questions because she does very well explaining everything. Grades very quickly. Spread out her homework because it can pile up. If you want to pass you have to try though. Great professor!!
Finished with a 95.7% in the class. It's a math class, so it's not exactly easy but you can very much get an A if you put in the effort. Homework is easy and collected in packets; there is also online homework which is very helpful for studying. Dale is very funny and a great professor. The 2nd and 3rd exams are the hardest, lowest quiz is dropped.
Professor Nauta is a fantastic teacher and I would take her class again. She's funny and her lectures are interesting. Homework is due every 3 chapters, online and written. Some of the concepts are difficult but the notes are thorough and you can ask questions.
She makes Statistics interesting and easy to understand. She explains the concepts very clearly in her lectures, so go to class and pay attention to her lectures. However, the homework is really long and time-consuming, so don't do it last minute. Overall, she's a great professor and would definitely take her again!
This has to be one of the easiest classes I've taken. Print out her notes, do the notes, do the hw, and you will for sure get a good grade.
This class really isn't that bad. Easy to understand. Just don't do the homework last minute. Group project, 3 exams, iclicker, 6 quizzes (one is take home), 6 hw assignments, and online hw for each chapter. It's really doable as long as you print out notes and stay on top of the homework.
She is by far one of the BEST PROFESSORS Ive taken at any community college. Makes an difficult subject easier to understand. Notes are clear and understandable. Clear grading, 3 exams, and final. Quiz every three chapters. Lots of hwk, but very doable. Very caring and understanding. If you put in the effort, you will pass. But she is AMAZING
Great Professor. She makes everything clear from exactly whats going to be on the exams, to how the quizzes are set up. The group project is there to boost your grade and she genuinely made math interesting. There are 6 quizzes with the lowest one dropped. If you're struggling definitely go to the tutoring center for extra help. Best math class.
Great professor. Stats might seem a bit difficult, but she makes it so clear and easy to understand! HW due every 3 weeks, 6 Quizzes (one take home), 3 exams and a final, and a group project. There is not a better stats professor out there. A few of the concepts were difficult but she made it easier. I wouldn't say its an easy A, BUT VERY DOABLE!!
Very thoughtful in her approach. Systematic.
I'm not good at math at all, but she definitely made Statistics entertaining which keeps you engaged in the class. She answers any questions you have in class, during lectures, and even before tests/quizzes. She is an all around great professor regardless if you have a skill for math or not.
Do the homework and pay attention in class. Her lectures are easy to follow and she gives concise instructions on how to approach problems.
I took this class with Professor Nauta in the fall of 2012 and it is still easily one of the best classes and professors I have ever had. After her class, I realized that I loved Stats. She is an incredible professor who makes the material easy to understand and commit to memory, even if you aren't a math or numbers person. Take her class!!
