As straight forward as you are going to get with a teacher. This was a 8 week online class on the Pacific. We had 12 modules all open the whole semester so you could work ahead. The final was a 3,000 page paper on an island of your choice. A
Professor Simpson was great. You can really tell that he is passionate about anthropology and is willing to help us in any way we can. He doesn't have specific weekly deadlines for us, but just suggested ones so that we can pace ourselves, which I think is great for people who have a busier schedule. Gives out lots of extra credit as well.
This could just be the 8 week class, but there was a lot of work and writing papers. The brunt of it was the 1hrish videos then writing a summary or reflection about it. Luckily it was just a page. But I had a lot of 8 week courses too so a lot of things were piling on my plate. Work can be turned in before end of semester so that's a relief.
I have genuinely never had a better professor. He is very clear with what he wants from his students, but is always so helpful. He is passionate about his work and genuinely cares about his students. Not just that but the content in the course is so interesting and powerful. highly recommend (:
Dale is a fantastic professor. He knows a lot about his topic and is clearly enthusiastic about what he is teaching. Each module involves watching a video and writing a short review of it, reading and turning in textbook notes, and taking a quiz based on the reading. Do the work and you'll pass no problem.
Professor Simpson is an overall great professor. The modules are pretty work heavy, and there are a lot of assignments overall, but if you do your best to keep up with the work, the class is fairly an easy A. He offers TONS of extra credit so definitely take advantage, but he Is very passionate about what he teaches and super responsive!!
Dr. Dale is seriously a gem. He always posted announcements about upcoming items, and extra educational material. Always made me laugh and seemed very approachable even for a 100% online class. He offers a abundance of material to learn from and extra credit was always a plus. Be prepared to study hard, the tests weren't as easy for me as the rest.
Although I had Dale as my professor for an online class (no zoom meetings) and only interacted with him through email, you can clearly see how much he cares for his students. He is always checking in and offering help. You can also tell he cares about the subject and topic of the class.
I greatly enjoyed learning from Prof. Simpson! My favorite part of taking his class was how passionate he was about the subject, it feels like he really enjoys teaching and is excited about it, which is really refreshing. The way he structured the class was also incredibly helpful (especially during a pandemic) and felt very accommodating
Great professor and very nice just hard to reach sometimes but that's understandable.
Professor Simpson tries his best to respond to any questions as soon as possible, which is definitely important if you're stuck on something. You should know though, that there is a LOT of reading material and videos that you will be quizzed on. Also, each unit/module takes a significant amount of time, so DO NOT procrastinate, you'll be stressed!
Wonderful professor, was struggling in the first half but got reassured everything would still count as long as everything was turned in by the last day.
Professor Simpson is a very caring teacher who is obviously extremely passionate about anthropology. The information is really interesting and engaging. You will learn a lot about a variety of things about life not only from the past but a respect for differences in the world today as well. He is an easy grader if you put the effort in.
A good and very qualified professor. The tests are a bit rough but he makes up for it with copious amounts of extra credit.
He is a good professor I took him for Anthology and I got an easy A there are like 3-4 assignments you have to do in a week but its nothing too hard considering that I took a week course.
Teacher is great, he knew I had done no assignments the whole year and I made it all up with his help. He was very considerate and motivated me to get it done. If you can take this teacher then take him!
TAKE HIM! He is the best when it comes to contacting for help! He is very flexible and truly has a passion for teaching. By far the best teacher I have had at College of DuPage!
Overall my lectures are very informative. Maybe I would say too much info is given. It's nice that he gives us work but sometimes what we learn isn't included in the test well not all of the info.
Professor Simpson was an amazing selection for taking an introductory anthropology course. Although there was a lot of work, if you can dedicate the time and effort, anyone who tries will get an A in this class. There is some extra credit assignments to help boost your grade as well if you are borderline. Take him!
Amazing!!!!!
IF not a big fan of Anthropology would not recommend it. BUt if you find that stuff interesting great class to learn tons of stuff. Kind of a lot of busy work that all leads up to the module test. Not too bad at all though.
I definitely recommend taking Dr. Dale. You will not find a better professor for anthropology. Planning to major in biochemistry or molecular biology, I initially signed up for the class just for credit. However, going through the course has given me an amazing insight into what anthropology really is. I'm so glad I signed up with Professor Dale.
DDSJ is a great professor. I highly recommend the class. Decent amount of work. Super clear grading guidelines. Few actual due dates. Answers email quickly and is super interesting. On the other hand, two important papers which I believe could be limited to one longer one. Overall, great professor.
Very passionate teacher. Lots of videos to watch, lots of information. Very clear instructions on assignments. Wants you to do well in class
He's very passionate about this subject, and the class is pretty easy to pass as long as you put in the work!
First off, Do not get a textbook (I bought a rental one online) until you start. I did not need it and bought it. He puts the materials you already need on BlackBoard. Dale clearly loves his job and is so passionate which rubs off on the student. I suggest this class. Lots of work but goes by really fast. Just stay ontop of dates (or get ahead) :)
He is one of the best. He is an easy grader if you actually do the work. There are quizzes and two essays. Plenty of extra credit!
Professor Simpson is extremely passionate about his work and teaching Oceania culture but sometimes lacks professionalism. He swore out of excitement in a few e mails and as a student that makes me slightly uncomfortable. Also the grading criteria was a little confusing but there are so many opportunities for extra credit and info is interesting.
Dr. Simpson is a fantastic Anthropology teacher - but be prepared to read some very dense material! He provided a clearly defined syllabus, provided ample amounts of time to complete the assignments, and also provided well over 200+ points in extra credit assignments. Honestly an amazing experience, great communicator and excellent lessons. A+!!!
Dr Dale. is a great teacher and a super interesting guy! Would recommend taking a class with him. Topics are interesting and lots of videos to explain things. Be aware, this class requires time management skills.
This was a great class. Professor Simpson answers your questions and responds to emails quickly. There is a lot of extra credit in this class to help you pass. If you need an elective this is a class to take.
Great class for online if you want to take it. if you do all of your work and attend class you will be fine. Mr. Simpson give's you lot's of extra credit to do if you are falling behind so it's a great way to get good grade's .
Take this class!! It's not really an easy A but there's over 150 points in extra credit. This professor is ridiculously organized, a fast grader, and he actually likes his job. Though I wish we eased into the semester, instead of having assignments/quiz available week 1. Since the first week is already stressful.
Dr. Dale Simpson is a great teacher. There is a good amount of work but there are large amounts of extra credit offered and loose due dates. The information is kept interesting by adding a good amount of memes and interesting articles. My only critisism is he is not always on top of the class. He will respond to emails, but you might have to wait.
Makes his classes be inspired and care for the subject's materials.
ok the class just started but I can already tell it is gonna take a lot of my time and energy, however, I'm happt about the fact that he clearly LOVES the subject. There is a lot of work (its an 8 week course) but I am excited because I know its gonna push my limits. I
Prof Simpson clearly loves his job and teaching but, beware of his 8 week classes. I am a straight A student and really struggled with the work load. I'm talking 10 assignments due per week and they are lengthy difficult ones at that. I would maybe take him again ONLY if it was a full term class. he should have altered the course for 8 weeks.
Professor Simpson made this class easy to understand. He is so helpful in so many ways! I would take another class of his in a heartbeat
He is a good professor. I like how he is teaching students a lot about Anthropology. Definitely reccomend.
Dr. Dale is amazing. I took the online course so I did not get any live lectures with him, but I am sure he would be great to listen to. He is so genuinely immersed in his work and loves what he is doing. He lays out the course very clearly, I was never confused on what was expected of me. It is a constant flow of work, but not bad if you keep up.
Dale is an incredible professor to take Anthropology through. All assignments were clearly presented at the start of the semester and very well explained. All the assignments were due at the end of the semester and you had ample time to do them at your own pace. Makes anthropology very interesting to learn about.
Dr. Dale was a good instructor, he was very available and responds fast to emails. There is a lot of information within his class but he is truly there within a 24hr email to him. this is much more than can be said about some professors.
Would def take him again, lots of opportunity for extra credit. Very willing to help.
I definitely recommend taking this class, hes a very caring professor and will try his best to help you ! He not only cares for his students but makes sure they hes a contributing factor to their success, if I could take this class again I would! He kept me motivated
Dr. Simpson is an excellent professor, I was in his Anthropology 1000 (net class) and the assignments were super simple and do-able. He outlined the work really well and provided all the resources we would need. He responds to emails super quick and overall, his class was super enjoyable. I definitely recommend!
Dr. Simpson is a wonderful professor, I took his Anthropology 1000 net class and the assignments that were given were pretty easy and doable. He truly cares about teaching his class and he loves Anthropology. And if you didn't understand the assignment he could email him which he is great at responding expect him to take no longer than 24 hours.
Since this was an online class, I love the fact that we had 2 due dates and could work on everything at our own pace. His grading guidelines were very clear and the syllabus and sections were super organized and I was never confused on what I needed to complete.
I have taken two courses with him in the past and he is honestly one of the kindest and funniest professors I have ever had. His courses have a lot that you need to accomplish, but as long as you are able to do it all before the deadline it's an easy A. He is always available to talk with his students and is never hard to reach. Highly recommend!
Dr Dale was passionate about the class. Communicative, helpful and quick to respond to/grade work with feedback if needed. I know 8 week courses are quick paced but I feel some videos/supplemental material could have been condensed better with just the big picture (a lot of minor details were in readings/long videos/tests).
I had a great time in ANTHR-1000 with professor Simpson, HE really made the class super interesting with new material every week. This class was the perfect balance of work, it wasn't stressful if you followed the syllabus and kept on track. I would 100% recommend professor Simpson he is truly passionate about his work. I had an awesome semester!
Great Professor! Very kind and friendly, also helps you and actually cares for students. Lots of homework but it's very easy just time consuming. 1000% would take it again.
Great professor. He clearly loves what he does! I recommend taking his course. Assignments are time-consuming so get them done asap.
He is a very good professor and you can tell that he cares about his students and that they are learning the material. He is very educated in anthropology and gives you tons of resources to help you learn. My only complaint is that he does give a lot of work so I recommend making sure you keep up with it, but he does give TONS of extra credit!
He gave very good feedback and also seemed very friendly in emails and videos he had posted.
Fantastic instructor who is incredibly knowledgeable about his field, and provides every opportunity to excel. Stayed on top of grading, returned communications promptly, but more importantly I felt he genuinely cared. Would recommend 1000x times.
Good teacher. Always did his best to respond to emails quickly and made sure that there was plenty of chances to earn points in the class.
I really enjoyed taking this class. He was super helpful and always seemed to care for his students
He is a very good professor. His syllabus is very clear and there is a lot of extra credit to do. So, it is very easy to get an A. There will be two-term papers to do. If you do all the assignments in time, it is easy to get an A or B grade. I Recommend this professor to you. I really enjoyed taking this class.
Dale is a great professor and someone who really cares for his students. The class has a decent amount of work but as long as you don't fall too far behind it isn't terrible. He responds quickly to emails and makes the class very enjoyable. Tons of extra credit opportunities as well.
I loved this class! Professor Simpson is an outstanding teacher! I thoroughly enjoyed learning with this online class and found that it was very interactive and enriching. There was quite a bit of weekly information to take in, but it was absolutely doable. I highly recommend this course and I definitely recommend Professor Dale Simpson!
This is the second review I am doing for Dr. Dale for extra credit! Dr. Dale is an awesome professor! Whether you are into or not into anthropology take him! He is one of the best! He does give out a lot of homework and you do have two term papers to do but does give out several extra credit opportunities. I have no complaints about him.
This class was truly an honor to be in. Professor Simpson grades everything you turn in quickly and gives great feedback. I would definitely recommend to do at least 2-4 hours everyday to finish the course faster.
Professor Simpson is a fantastic teacher and is easily accessible if you need extra help. Grades get updated within a day or 2. There is a ton of extra credit so it is really easy to get an A, there is a decent amount of homework that isn't hard but it is easy to fall behind if you don't stay on track.
Very easy as long as you read, watch the video, take notes, and do extra credit because he gives alot of it. He responses back with 48 hours. He is very clear with what he wants and how he wants the assignments done. Very interesting and fun to learn. Would recommend even if its not for credit.
Professor Simpson is by far my favorite teacher at COD. He is super easy to reach and he will respond back to you within 24 hours. He keeps the class interesting and the material is super easy. His net class was easy to follow and very organized.
A very genuine person who's passionate about his field. If you're struggling, he's willing to listen and help. One of the better professors out there, so if you see one of his classes I recommend him 100%.
Doc Dale was amazing! He lays out the entire semester before hand and lets those who have other obligations get ahead of the game. Nothing is a surprise, and he tries to make everyone feel prepared. 10/10 recommend!
Is a great motivator for students. Always will take time out to explain material. Gives extra credit optional so, not do well on quiz - can do extra credit to help. Work at your own pace just get it done. Improve online class attach - attach video of himself explain Prezi PPP. Student actually feel in class hearing lecture. Help understand material
He's a great professor, really nice, cares about his students, work he gives isnt difficult and he checks in throughout every week to make sure students are on track! great professor! :)
Professor Dale Simpson is a great professor who truly cares about his students and takes a lot of pride in the field of anthropology. This class had weekly assignments that were pretty consistent and similar throughout every week of semester. Although these assignments aren't the most challenging, they are tedious and will take time to complete.
Professor Simpson is a great professor who cares about his students and really cares about the subject of anthropology. Throughout the semester there are weekly assignments that you will have to keep up on. Although they are time consuming and slightly tedious, they are not challenging or hard to accomplish.
There is a lot of work that goes into this class but I would highly recommend it and I would definitely take another class taught by this professor. The class is very easy to navigate, there are 12 chapters of work that include readings, videos, and a chapter test, also LOTS of extra credit. The professor loves his job and it shows in the class.
Honestly, I signed up for this class by accident but I am so glad I took it. Professor Simpson is someone who knows what he's talking about in the field of anthropology as he actively pursues the topic in the field. He makes the material extremely accessible and makes himself available no matter what you need. Highly recommended!!
I am so happy that I too the Pacific Islander Anthropology course. Not only is the content very interesting, but Professor Dale Simpson is so passionate about what he teaches. He is very understanding and open, which really helps with my anxiety. He cares about his students and how they are in all aspects of their life, not only school related.
Great professor overall but because it was an online course, be prepared to watch videos and work in a timely matter. He provides a lot of extra credit and provides a really good experience. Some tests can be a little difficult but take great notes and you'll be fine!
WARNING! You will NOT be able to fly by this class without serious work. None of the content can be found on quizlet. You HAVE to do the work by yourself. It is interesting stuff but the quantity is heavy. Just be willing to actually put in the work.
Online courses are hit or miss-this was a HIT because of Dr. Dale. He is passionate + prepared, making the course exciting and manageable even as an online course. If you follow the syllabus, take time on readings, and share even an ounce of the excitement for anthropology that Dr. Dale does, you will love and learn so much!
This is my second semester with professor Simpson, I would recommend taking his courses seeing as they are very informative and he is a great passionate teacher. I would recommend taking a 12 week rather then an 8 week course with him though
To the students who think this class is going to be easy it's not. You can't pass this class by searching up the answers. You have to put effort to find the answers. Work hard to pass this class. This class is fun and you learn many of interesting stuff. Remember you have a short time to be able to turn in your stuff. Take this time seriously.
Very easy going and is there to help you every step of the way. Responds to emails fast and gives you many extra credit chances to make up for any missing grades or tests you missed! 10/10. He's a great professor.
You should be prepared to set aside a substantial amount of time each week to complete the modules in this class. The readings often took me a while because you have to take a lot of time to understand the content. After all, the tests are created based on the chapter readings. He is very accessible via email though and super friendly!
He is very passionate about Anthropology and teaching. He is always there to help you. I would recommend taking his class if you can. But be prepared to read a lot and watch many videos. The content is very heavy. His quizzes are timed and can be hard but he allows you to use your notes. Also, be prepared to take out a lot of time for this class
A teacher dedicated to concepts of Pacific Islanders. The class offers hands-on experience opportunities. Dale offers extra credit in each module regarding the materials we cover in each module. He has a friendly demeanor while staying professional. I'm going to miss his class, for however challenging it was, it was just as enjoyable.
I really enjoyed Professor Simpson's class. It was a great introductory course into Anthropology. I think the best part of the class was how flexible he was with due dates and assignment. Dr. Simpson has clear expectations for his students and really wants them to learn. He is also easily accessible to meet via zoom or email.
Classwork is not too hard, also his due dates are very flexible. There is plenty of extra credit, which is good and needed because the quizzes are very hard. My favorite thing was that half of the modules were due at the end of the semester, so this made getting the work done much more manageable. Overall good class.
Dr. Simpson was great. He really loves what he is teaching. He responds quickly to emails, and he is always available to chat if you need anything. All the homework and tests are easy, and the extra credit is so easy. My only suggestion is to maybe split the due dates for the two term papers. Other than that this class was fun and interesting.
I really enjoyed this class and having Dale! His enthusiasm made studying Pacific anthropology that much more interesting. My only issue would be that there are no due dates on the units, so I'd highly recommend trying to follow the suggested due dates as the modules are not that hard. He leaves ample time to do the final paper and is very involved
Dr. Dale is an amazing teacher. He is very understanding and wants all his students to do good. He gives a lot of extra credit so take advantage of it. There will be a lot of reading so be prepared for that. If you do not understand anything, ask. He is always there when you need help. Overall, I would highly recommend taking his class.
Professor Simpson is an amazing professor. He made me realize so many things about Anthropology that I never knew. I mean who knew that it was more than just about digging up fossils for history? I highly recommend him as he is patient and very caring.
Passionate with what he deliver. Always available and understanding, The grading is fair
Professor Simpson was very understanding and helpful. He took time to get to know me and saw things from my perspective.
I had a unique situation throughout this class, the level of engagement I had with this class and personally with Dale. So with that you have little to no live contact with a teacher or student and yet with due reason Dale looked out for me and the rest of the class in making opportunities and adjustments
Dale is great He is very understandable and will give you chance if you are struggling with the assignments He gives lots of information for you to understand the material like videos papers and engage in discussions. take classes with him. He is very professional and has a lot of years of studies as he is very passionate about his career.
You can tell this professor wants nothing but the best for you. He is a very chill professor and gives lots of extra credit opportunities
Dale is amazing! He is extremely passionate, knowledgeable, and encouraging. I am about halfway through the class and have learned so much already. There is a lot of work, but he keeps it so interesting. He is very organized and you always know what is expected. He offers tons of extra credit as well. This class is an absolute must!
He is a good professor, but I feel the grading can be a little lighter as compared to the amount of work given.
Dale Simpson, while not meeting him in person, has distributed his material thoroughly, yet simple to go through. I've learned a lot from his course on Pacific Islanders and how he outlined it has made me efficient at turning assignments in. That, and his posts can be funny at times.
I believe that the videos should be more recent and not giving so so so many videos to watch would be better. The reason I say this is because some of these videos are 2-5min long while other videos have been a series of videos that go over 2 hours working full-time to having terrible migraines dont help you get anywhere near done for this class.
Although my course was entirely online and it was a pretty heavy workload to balance with a full-time job, it's reasonable. There were times when I was in utter agony trying to read another page of a boring article. As long as you put in just a little effort with him you'll be fine. I recommend him to anyone. Summary: Great guy no need to worry.
Great professor. Great feedback. Very informal class.
I had a really easy and enjoyable time going through his class online. The homework was very manageable and you are allotted more than enough time to complete it all. The Final paper was a good amount of work, but it was about an interesting topic, so it isn't too hard. Dr. Simpson was a fun professor to have.
He was great in teaching my anthropology course. A lot of interesting material but modules were pretty heavy in content. A lot of stuff to read and lengthy videos to watch. You can tell he is very understanding and allows for extra credit!
Summer class- amt of learning seemed unattainable w/ a full time job & other classes. Take only this class, in summer, so you can enjoy the readings & not rush. Chapters weren't organized well, back & fourth, no fluidity. No book reading until later on, then jam ALOT in at once. Student needs to create a reading schedule. EC-YES ALOT. Understanding
Professor Simpson is really one of the most stress-free teachers I've had; very enjoyable course. Took anthropology as an online summer class for my grad requirements, and ended up actually learning a lot. Very lenient, clear deadlines (only 3) and since online, work at own pace. Super friendly, accommodating. def recommend, hard to critique
The lecturer lectures so well and puts across all his important communication so well.
Dale Simpson is an excellent professor and he is clear on what we need to get done to pass this class. The weekly work consists of reading the chapter, doing a few assignments, and taking a weekly exam. There is also a cross-cultural assignment and students should start on that as soon as possible as it is worth 600 points. Great class overall!
He is a teacher that actually teaches with experience. He teaches with enthusiasm because he has experienced some of the places you'll learn about. He is a fast grader (much appreciated) and makes class fun and humorous. There is a good amount of work, so don't procrastinate. Overall, great teacher!
If you are interested in Anthropology take this class! Dr. Simpson definitely has a passion for teaching anthropology. This class was rather difficult for me though. You need to plan out your time and follow course recommendations. The book was difficult for me to understand, but the movies and discussions were easier.
do everything on time and you will be fine
Dale has a true passion for Anthropology. There are a lot of assignments, but as long as you keep up with them each week you should be good. He is a fast grader and responds to emails quickly which I apprenticed!
I enjoyed the opportunity of working ahead or even falling behind for a couple of weeks without being penalized for doing so, the course is a lot of reading but it's a great class to take honestly.
He is very understanding and a great professor. There is a lot of stuff to do but it is not all for a grade so if one or two things don't get finished it's not the end of the world. Just keep up and you can get an A.
I would recommend Professor Simpson because he is a very thoughtful instructor even if its for an online class. He gives a lot of great criticism, but isn't condescending. He is also very encouraging and makes himself available to his students.
Dr. Dale is one of the most easygoing, understanding professors I've had the pleasure to interact with. He allowed me to get my foot in the door of anthropology and assured all of us that were behind that our midterm grades were not permanent and that we still had a fighting chance. His lectures are informative but not boring.
Great guy and very understanding if you have any problems submitting work. There is a lot of reading but if you work for 20-30 minutes a day you should be good. He clearly loves Anthropology to which makes learning easier.
This professor is amazing! I have him for an online anthropology class. He is very passionate about his career. He gives great feedback on assignments, and he responds to emails quickly. This class involves a lot of reading and watching videos, but they are interesting and helpful resources. I highly recommend this professor and this class.
Being a shorter course it is dense and you have a lot to unpack in that time, but Professor Simpson is actually really easy to get a hold of, checks in, makes himself available, and has responded to any messages in a reasonable time. I would most certainly have him as a professor again, although maybe less of a time crunch/dense class.
I have a busy life and a lot of things were getting hard for me. However, he worked with me and continued to encourage me to keep pushing and is helping me catch up with class. He is very kind and extremely passionate about what he teaches.
Thiswasan8-weekcoursesoIwasexpectingalotofworkbutthiscoursewasaTON!Youwill need to stay on top of it from the get-go! Professor Simpson is very kind and down to earth! You can tell he loves what he is teaching which helps a lot!! He is also very easy to get in touch with and stays ON TOP of grading so you always know you are accurate to date grade.
I really enjoyed this class. You can tell the professor cares about the topic at hand and his students. He doesn't have set deadlines which can be a positive and a negative. As long as you stay up to date on all the coursework this is a really enjoyable and fun class to take.
There is a massive term paper that you'll have to do if you want an A in the class, but there are also a ton of extra credit opportunities, so I assume you'll be able to get an A if you don't want to write the paper. All of the information is neatly organized, and he doesn't necessarily require you to spend hours and hours studying.
He is very very understanding and he is very honest and is willing to regrade assignments to get a better grade. He is very respectful as well as dedicated to what he does
Professor. Simpson was super kind hearted and reached out to students on numerous occasions to make sure the materiel he gave made sense. Kind and compassionate, as well as super amazing modules with very interesting and reflective work. He is also super passionate about Anthropology and his work reflects it. Overall an amazing professor!
Each Module was exactly the same format. Graded notes (just hit a page), class discussion, watch and review a video, and then test. Pretty easy stuff ngl. Personally I hated doing the video assignments cause it takes a lot of time since you have to summarize then review it and it has to be a page long. Graded quickly and pretty cool guy
Be prepare yourself for watching modules video
Dr. Dale Simpson is a great professor. His tests are challenging, but if you put in the work and do the reading they are manageable and his updates are a welcome sight!
Dale is a good guy, but the class is so much work. I took it because i needed an easy elective, but the workload is too much. There's too many assignments. There's 14 modules, and each module has 4 assignments. You have to submit your notes, watch and review a video, do a discussion board, and take the test. And the tests were hard.
I took an online 8-week anthro course. 14 modules with 4 assignments, but they're not hard! The assignments are a 1-page review of a video, textbook notes, discussion board Q&A, and a 25 question test. There's a term paper, you get to choose the topic! Lots of extra credit. He's great, he's always responding to emails and grading fast as light!
He is great professor! he understands that students have a lot going on and is patient. The class does require you to do a lot of work but he does give you more than enough extra credit.
I like how the class was very organized
Professor Simpson is excellent! I was not sure if I will like Anthropology, but he made it fun and very interesting. He is very knowledgeable and full of enthusiasm. He really cares about the students and made sure everyone is on track. I highly recommend him.
Took cultural anthro online - 8-week course. There is a lot of work but is very doable since he is not a tough grader. In addition to 14 units, there is a 600-point project which is also pretty easy. Overall, great course since he is easygoing and replies to you really fast. Also gives extra credit. Would recommend.
This class was online and it was pretty easy just a lot of work to get done. The professor Simpson is easy to get a hold of if you need help with anything.
He was very helpful and sent out many reminders for course material. He responds to emails very fast outside of school. There is a lot of work for the modules, but overall he grades fairly. I enjoyed this course.
You have to do a lot of assignments but they are all due at the end of the semester he is super understanding and replies to emails right away. He is a great teacher I would take his class again.
The class is pretty self explanatory if you read the material and watch the videos. He is a very nice and interesting professor and it seems like he really cares about his students. There was no due dates for the online session I was in, but the homework load was tedious.
He was such a good professor, he was very understanding and let us take up to the end of the semester to turn things in which I really appreciated, and was understanding when we were going through personal problems at home. He assigns good assignments and videos that are really interesting and the workload is easy to manage. Very straight-forward.
He is a great professor and if you have any accomodations you need done, he is really willing to work with you and help you stay on top of all your work if you communicate with him.
He is a great professor and really wants you to do well. If you are struggling at all he is really willing to work with you to make sure that you succeed as long as you make sure that you communicate with him and he will communicate with you too.
Professor Simpson really cares about your well-being and grade. He wants you to do good and succeed in this class. He's very passionate about the subject, but has quite a few assignments. Late work is accepted and he is very lenient about it.
I took an online class with him and it was super easy. Definitely would recommend taking this professor. Its for sure an easy A provided all the assignments are done accordingly.
Definitely take this class online. It isn't too bad, but there is a lot of homework. He makes everything super accessible, and organizes everything really well. There is also tons of extra credit for you to do.
I was excited and looked forward to taking anthropology! Professor Simpson showed his own experience with anthropology and made it fun to learn! There is a decent amount of work to do in the online class but as long as you get it done on time there is no problem and you'll be just fine! I would take the class again if I could!
cool professor. has a sense of humor and smooth class to take
This a easy class, he gives a lot of time to complete assignments
Although a straight forward and simple class it is mostly busy work with no real lectures. I liked the class but the content was composed of lots of videos and became very repetitive. Very understanding professor, great with responding to emails, and grading fast.
This class is kinda a lot of work but it is easy work. Do everything and you will get an A.
He is very considerate of your situation and very flexible so he's a good teacher. The workload is very manageable, he's responsive to emails, and he wants you to succeed. As long as you put in effort, then you will do really well in this class.
very good professor! Intelligent and very passionate about work. Lectures are great to tune into. Flexible, make sure to stay on top of your work, he is there to help you out.
It's a very good online course, I am unsure what the difficulty rating meant, the professor was not difficult at all but the class was. The class was doable for sure, if you're taking it over the summer in the four-week plan I recommend taking only that. There is lots to do, but none of it is insanely difficult.
Very well organized online class! Lots of work, but very manageable. Tons of opportunity for extra credit. Definitely taking him again next semester.
a very good teacher!
Very light-hearted professor. Put your best in the class and you'll do well. Many opportunities for extra credit, which is very helpful as it is lengthy in content, but overall a great professor for a super fun class. Get ready for same 10/10 memes.
He is an amazing professor
Professor Dale is one of the most hard working professors I have ever seen. He has a really good knowledge and he shares alll of it with you. I love how he organizes his materials and I love the content he provides.
One of the best professors out there! TAKE HIM YOU WONT REGRET.
He is supportive. Lots of work, and challenging with 5 classes. Gives extra credit & reachable outside class. Would be more enjoyable either with a reduced overall course load or if the weekly assignments were less demanding. Overall, I like him and would definitely take him again if my schedule allowed for a more manageable course load.
I took his class online for 8 weeks and it was amazing. We had 14 modules to complete and one term paper due at the end of the semester. He gives a lot of extra credit that is based upon his work and studies. He truly cares about teaching and this can be seen by the amount of fascinating archeological sites he has visited and shared with the us.
Ton of opportunities to improve grade and a really involved teacher. Fast response time and the class it set up vey nice and easy to navigate and work ahead.
As long as you do the work, the class is fairly easy. Only critique is not a lot of feedback on reviews on video you have to write for each module, so it was hard to see what you need to do different.
You are able to work at your own pace with the modules and assignments. There are two papers. Easy and lenient teacher.
The class I took was 8 weeks and it was online. There is no due dates for turning in assignments everything just needs to be turned in before the last day of the class. He's really nice and there if you need anything. If you just do the work you'll pass. 1 paper only and it wasn't too hard. If you have to take an anthropology class take his.
This was a very easy online class and professor Simpson is laid back. He grades things quickly and is always available if you need help. The only issue I had was the amount of work, even though everything was due at the end of the semester. The term paper was very long and took a lot of time to write, but there are lots of extra credit assignments.
He is a very helpful professor and is super passionate about what he teaches. He is quick to respond to emails puts in your grades quickly too and helps look out for his students. Make sure you make time for this class because there is a lot of content and manage your time well or you will fall behind.
Very Flexible, and willing to work with you. Great class overall.
I enjoyed the class as many of the chapters covered fun topics that sparked my curiosity and motivated me to *dig* deeper into the subject matter. There are 14 chapters and an essay in the 8-week class. The flexibility to work at my own pace was beneficial for me, being a working mother of four, as it relieved the pressure of constant deadlines.
Dale is very laid back and allows us to do everything at our own pace. He also responds very quickly to any emails and is willing to walk you through any problem or issue you may have. The homework is quite easy and brief; you take notes on the lecture and YouTube videos and then the test is reflected based on everything you reviewed.
It was a very interesting course that you could tell the professor was very passionate about. The course load in the allotted time was quite a bit but I appreciated the extra videos that while not mandatory added to the value of the course.
Great professor! and is very passionate about his work.
Prof. Simpson was a really nice and chill teacher. I took his 8 week class and it was a lot of work and a lot of homework but it wasn't really difficult. don't take this class if you don't like long lectures
Even though there is a lot of hw it is broken up pretty well into smaller assignments and are easy to do as long as you watch the videos. He gives a lot of positive feedback as well on discussion posts. Dr. Simpson is very passionate you can definitely see it in the way he teaches. There are also a lot of extra credit opportunities.
He was very responsive and attentive to any questions that I had throughout the course. He's very helpful and understanding. Not a negative thing to say about him!!!
Great teacher you can tell that he loves what he does and he has an excellent online class
Dr. Simpson's class is a lot of busy work but there is so much extra credit. The only negative about this class is the 600 point paper due at the end of the semester but if you turned everything in, did well on the test, and turn in all the extra credit, you can actually do bad on the paper and still pass with a B. He is very nice and helpful!
I took this course online. There was quite a few homework but not difficult. He gives out a lot of extra credit which is very helpful. He gives awesome feedback and is very helpful it you have any question or concerns. I would 100 percent recommend taking his class.
There are 12 modules in this class and for each one you have to do a discussion board, test (open note), and review a video. I took the 8-week class so it is a lot of work especially since there's a lot of reading but this class was super fun and informative. It's clear he is super passionate about his work which made the class enjoyable!
Take this professor. He is probably the best professor I have ever had. I took this class online and there is a module due every week which consists of Watching a video and writing your review on it and Discussion board with classmates, and taking notes from the powerpoint and turning them in and a test. His grading is very easy. Easy A.
Be prepared for a lot of busy work if you're taking 8-week course, there is weekly assigments & quiz, and a final paper. Although the course is content heavy, theres a ton of extra credit opportunities. Professor Dale is very passionate about his field work and students! I wouldn't say the class is difficult, but you have to dedicate time for sure.
Best soc professor, take his course if you get a chance to do so
This is definitely a class to take if you can handle an online course. While Dale is a great teacher who really hypes his students up, he does assign work almost every day so make sure to stay on top of it. There is a lot of reading involved as well! Otherwise he's a great dude
Amazing professor who gives you many engaging but fun ways to present the course material; hes a great guy and have really enjoyed the course so far. The course is online focused and requires lots of individual work, but professor Simpson is always available if assistance is needed!
While this course was taken purely for credit, the topic itself is of great interest to me. It was refreshing to see that the professor shared this same perspective. Professor Simpson is clearly knowledge about the field and has had some first hand experience to show. For the class itself it is homework heavy and the final paper is challenging.
Very caring professor who ties in his personal experiences as an archaeologist with the topics of the Pacific. The 8 week course is fast paced but as long as you keep up with the readings and videos every week you will pass, there are many attempts at extra credit too. He is outstanding at setting clear expectations for the term paper and class.
I have taken an online class and the class was self-paced so no deadlines only the last day of the course is the deadline to submit everything. The course has a lot of assignments to do but the professor is very easy to talk to and replies very quickly.
Possibly one of the best professors at COD. Professor Simpson genuinely cares about his students and teaching Anthropology. If you complete the assignments and do the extra credit you are guaranteed an A in the class.
Overall I really enjoyed this class. He is an amazing professor who really was someone to count on whenever you needed him. He allows extra credit, he is very passionate and someone who is always looking forward to any questions or thoughts about what we've learned and getting to know everyone. This class was by far one of my favorites.
very nice teacher lots of extra credit opportunities, lots of reading like hours at a time. as long as you do what he asks you'll get an A. he's very nice and understanding as well and you can tell he likes what he does. stay up to date so its not stressful cause it got bad for a minute. but overall good class.
Great professor! Super easy to get in touch with, and very helpful and willing to work with you. However it is quite a good amount of work. He's flexible so time kind of slips away and if you're procrastinator I would for sure rethink taking this course. Just gotta be on top of your work, and you're set.
Professor is great, funny, and enthusiastic. You can tell he really enjoys his job and has a passion for the subject. As long as you stay on top of your work, this should be a manageable class. The course work is time consuming and there is a large paper to write at the end of the semester.
Dale Simpson is a good professor for Anthro, I would suggest that you don't procrastinate the modules and get them done on time because it will pile up on you. Plan out the big 3k word essay and make sure you don't do it last minute. Overall he's a good professor, stay up to date on your homework and you should be good.
One of the best professors I've ever had. Responds to emails asap, gives great feedback, answers all questions with great detail. Not much homework at all, tests are really easy if you just do the work. So many extra credit opportunities that are super easy and take barely any time to do so do them!! No projects at all, just one final paper :)
Professor Simpson was an incredible teacher. He truly is devoted to his students absorbing and learning the information through the use of videos, lectures, readings and discussion. As a kinistetic learner, it has been a really interesting and easy to follow class for me. It was refreshing have a professor who was on the field and deeply cared.
Amazing teacher! He was incredibly kind, understanding, and funny. He responds really quick and he was always willing to help you out if you needed anything.
Professor Simpson is one the greatest teachers I've ever had. He keeps his material very interesting and engaging. He truly cares about his students and genuinely wants them to succeed. He is always open to meeting and helping his students. If you have the opportunity to take his class, you should without a doubt do it!
I highly suggest taking this professor he really knows what he is talking about when teaching!
One of the few best professors I've had in a while! Checks in on me to make sure that I'm doing ok. Gives weekly announcements with updates for that week. Gives feedbacks whenever the assignments needs a feedback, or even compliment them. Truly one of the few best professors I've had at this school.
Dale really takes his time to connect with his students even if the course is online. I would really recommend if you want to learn more about Pacific Islands. Dale has lots of knowledge and information about this. You will feel like you are supported and can reach out easily. There is lots of extra credit opportunities and the final is a paper.
Professor Simpson is deeply passionate about The People and Culture of the Pacific. You will follow his 14-year exploration of the Pacific in great detail and come out of this course wanting to explore many of the islands. There are a good amount of assignments, but he is very fair regarding late assignments and extra credit.
Probably the nicest professor I have ever had. Dr. Simpson truly cares about students and his passion for the Pacific Island people is contagious. He puts lots of interesting videos and tons of extra credit opportunities. Now I want to travel to New Zealand even more than I already did before.
He was a great professor and you can tell that he loves what he does. He is very involved with everything about this class and has many experiences and knowledge to tell. This course was online and self-paced. It seemed like he didn't really teach the class it was more of "here's the work do it". He made sure to check in frequently though.
While I didn't do great in the class, it was my first time taking an online course. Any possible information that I would ever need was accessible and he was always available for help. So while I didn't do great, it was not because of the professor. I would take his class, though I might have to take an in-person one next time.
There's a lot of work in this course so make sure you pace your self. Easy to get the grade you want but it's a lot of effort. The good thing is that there's plenty of extra credit.
I had an excellent experience with Professor Dale during our online course. He was accommodating throughout the course, consistently providing clear and informative instruction. Additionally, he was highly responsive to emails, addressing queries quickly and thoroughly. Overall, his support and teaching were invaluable to my learning experience
Dr. Simpson was a great professor! I took this class online and he was responsive and cared about students learning but also enjoying their summer. We had the same assignments every week, so it was easy to keep a routine. It was not too difficult, but I knew for sure I could not slack off because it would for sure lower my grade.
Professor Simpson is passionate about the course material and offers plenty of extra credit. While the workload is heavy, utilizing resources like unstuckstudy ai can make studying more efficient. The online format allows for a self-paced approach.
Not only was Dale an exceptional professor, but he also supported me after I graduated. His passion for teaching is unmatched. He genuinely cares about his students and roots for everyone's success, even after you are no longer his student. Seriously, take any classes he offers. Cheers!
Dr. Dale is the most passionate professor I've had. His love for what he teaches makes his lectures very fun and interesting. He also responds extremely fast, which is so helpful - for online students especially. I never felt alone in this course, and he definitely cares about all his students. There are lots of extra credit opportunities too!
Professor Simpson was one of the chillest professors I have ever had, he was so passionate about his work and used video database websites for us to access anthropological videos to write about. I loved the class because I love the subject but he definitely made it worthwhile. The workload is easy in my opinion, mostly writing. TAKE HIM!!!
My favorite part about Proff Dale is his sense of humor. I'm always looking forward to receiving an email from him.
Dale is an amazing professor. He has a good sense of humor and he makes Anthropology interesting and engaging. He gives amazing feedback to help us succeed in his class. He makes the online class very interactive with videos, discussion boards, and even extra credit. The class can be a little challenging, but Dale is there for assistance.
I take his class online. He is one of the best organized and prepared online teachers I've has. Others need to take notes!
Way too many tests! This professor would test me twice a week. I'm still having him, I may possibly end up switching the section. It feels like Dale Simpson is making Anthropology a five credit course by making us do so much.
Dale is AMAZING!!! His class is reading heavy, but the subject is very interesting! He grades fast, offers tons of extra credit, and he is always willing to help out if you have questions! I will say, if you plan on taking this class in the 8 week format along with other classes be ready to stay home, as there is a lot of homework! A+ Teacher!!!
great teacher
I did not know about this professor prior to taking the class. I just got lucky because he really pushes you to learn so much and brings so many things to the course. His experience is phenomenal, he loves what he does and it shows. Certainly an experience not to be missed.
Dr. Simpson was one of the best professors I've had so far in my college experience. Practically all assignments were up from the beginning of the class. On top of that he made sure to answer any questions as soon as possible which made the class easier. Overall a must take teacher!
This is by far the most well crafted online course I have ever taken. Professor Simpson has an infectious passion for anthropology and his class is a far cry from the messy online classes I have grown accustomed to. My one minor note is that I do think this class would benefit from a check in or rough draft assignment for the term paper.
By far one of my favorite professors where do you flexible when it comes to giving extinctions and correcting grades although there is a lot of reading material and a lot of assignments but just do them on time and it will all work out easy A class highly recommended.
This professor is amazing for Intro to Anthropology! He's super accessible outside of class and responds to emails quickly. He consistently sends updates, so you always know what's going on, and he's very lenient with regrades, which makes the class a lot less stressful. You can tell he genuinely cares about his students' success.
Professor Dale Simpson is a man that cares deeply about the subject of Anthropology. He isn't overbearing and he cares about how his students do. The only reason that I have received a lower grade was due to my own negligence, he is a great professor and puts his expertise in the field to amazing use.
Prof. Dale is a super fun teacher who really cares about what he teaches! This online course was in a condensed format, but it felt like an entire normal semester and all of its work was squeezed into 8 weeks instead of being modified for a shorter course. Be prepared for a lot of schoolwork, especially if you are taking other classes or working!
Dr.Simpson is an extremely easy and great teacher, He is really easy to get in contact with, and will explain everything in detail if you're confused, He organizes the class very well to where you know what is due and when it is, Extra credit is always provided, but does assign decently long videos/playlists that you need to write reviews on
Dale is a very dedicated professor, he truly loves the topic but he's not going to hold your hand. He is very flexible which helps for anyone who has a "difficult" work schedule but if you need help, ask for it. This class isn't "easy" it requires a lot of reading and for you to challenge some of the biases you may have from what you think you know
Dale is a good guy who you can tell cares a lot about the material he is teaching. there were lots of extra credit opportunities, and the required course materials are clearly labeled. I took ANTHR-1000 as an 8 week online course, and the amount of work for that time wasn't excessive. overall very positive experience!
Great class, though the online format makes procrastination an easy trap to fall into.
Very good teacher. Cares about students.
This man truly just wants you to learn intro to anthropology. The unit deadlines are decent and you can work as far ahead as you want. At least 1 opportunity for some extra credit in every unit. I'm definitely looking forward to taking any other courses that I can with him. Instructions for assignments were clear. Some unit videos were lengthy.
very straight forward and just wants you to be successful !!
Dr. Simpson is one of the best instructors for any course I have ever had. He is super relatable and really cares about the success of his students. He has also made himself available to assist with questions I have had about anthropology and archeology in other courses I have taken outside of his own. He goes above and beyond!
very descriptive grading criteria
Aweosme class,very lenient with deadlines
Dr. Dale Simpson is a very good teacher. He truly cares about what he is promoting about Anthropology and I think everyone should learn from him, especially about the Pacific region that people need to protect and preserve. There are lots of extra credit options and the course material is laid out perfectly.
This class is all about home work he expect you to do two weeks worth of homework within one week. and not only that he is also not helpful I emailed him once and I all he did was send a screenshot telling me the wrong info. I would not recomend this class if you have a life or other classes cause this class require your full attention.
Professor Simpson makes it easy to understand what is due and allows time to complete assignments.
This was my first anthro class and I have found it very interesting. You can tell he is really passionate about teaching.
Professor is enthusiastic and clearly loves the subject. This class had the hardest tests I've ever taken, some answers will feel categorically wrong but are correct for the test. This class sapped all of my own enthusiasm for anthropology and the pacific islands. If I could do it over I wouldn't take it. Professor is 3/5 for vibes but class is 0/5
Tests made me want to rip my hair out, some correct answers were things I literally learned the opposite in other classes, just study. Plenty of extra credit that as long as you do the work you should get an A. The professor is great and it made me realize how little interest I had in the subject matter. Most work I've ever put into a class.
He was very understanding and did a great job giving lectures! It was clear what needed to eb done and he gave extra credit too! Overall, this was a fun class and recommend taking this course with this professor!
good teach
Professor Simpson is great. He's very passionate about what he teaches and that shows throughout the layout of the class and also in some of his lecture videos. He also emails back really fast and is always there to help if you need it. Plus lots of extra credit spread throughout the course.
Dr. Simpson is clearly very passionate about his job and anthropology. Some of the quiz questions are a bit confusing, sometimes the answers seem subjective and simply not what I read in the book. It's a lot of textbook reading but if you pace yourself and use your resources in this class, Dr. Simpson makes it pretty easy to be successful.
Dale is a professor who has a very clear love and respect for the area of Anthropology. This class wasn't too difficult, but required a 3000 word minimum term paper by the end of the semester. Weekly modules are expected to be completed, but other than that, the class isn't too difficult.
He is a lenient teacher and understanding as well as supportive. Would take again
I took Intro to Anthropology with Dr. Simpson and I had a great class experience overall. As an online class, it's very homework heavy, but manageable if you have the time. Dr. Simpson is very passionate about the subject and this comes through even online. I fully recommend taking a class with him!
Dr. Simpson is a great professor, this is the second class i've taken with him. He gives you all your class work on the first day so you can do it however you want, only downside is no due dates tends to make me fall behind. There is a lot of reading but it's really interesting information and a short test every week, final is a 3000 word paper.
Dale is one of the most understanding professors I have ever had in my college career. His class is self paced but he provides a lot of opportunity for success through an abundance of extra credit that he offers. I would highly recommend taking a class with Dale as he is incredibly experienced in his field and makes it worth taking the class!
Work isn't hard, but it takes time. You get a lot of time to do the work, so it should be an issue
DDSFJ is a fair grader. Expect a lot of work, but also expect to learn many things about your course material. He provides tons of extra credit, so your grade truly depends on how much effort you want to put into the course.
I normally fall behind or become uninterested in school, especially with online classes, but I really enjoyed this class, was always excited to learn, and enjoyed the format of the class.
I think Professor Simpson did a great job being my professor this semester, assignments are heavy but I appreciate the amount of effort he put towards this course and his experience. I like him as a person and teacher!
Dr. Dale is an amazing professor. He's super passionate about the discipline and he makes it really fun for students. There is a lot of work, but he really wants his students to do well and has a lot of opportunities for extra credit. He communicates well and responds to emails right away. Work hard and get your work done on time and all is good!
work not super difficult but lo0ts of it. can get tedious
Definitely a very good teacher, very flexible, and if ever in doubt he has no problem helping you do the best you can! So don't feel afraid to reach out and ask questions even if they seem easy to understand he will not make you feel like your not doing anything. Very informative class also definitely recommend taking if you like learning a lot
We have a lot of busy work and course materials to get through. You can complete everything at your own pace, which is nice. The professor is understanding and makes his lectures funny and enjoyable.
It takes a lot of work
I have taken two of Prof. Simpson's anthropology courses, and they have been enjoyable due to his engaging teaching style, clear presentation, and passion for the subject. He uses real-world examples, encourages thoughtful discussion, and genuinely cares about students' success. As long as you stay on track with coursework, you'll do just fine! :)
Very organized and transparent teacher
I would recommend this professor to others because he is caring and inspirational, and he also reminds and instructs you about the next assignment.
The professor's professional abilities include teaching style, ability to convey material clearly, and giving good feedback.
He is a very calm, energetic, and eager teacher. Just do the work he assigns and you will be successful in the class. He will provide engaging lectures and make it feel fun to learn about anthropology. Well Respected Teacher!
He is really chill professor with lots of information
This professor is fair, supportive, and truly wants students to succeed. The lectures are long and the course moves quickly especially in the summer so be ready to put in the time and stay disciplined. He offers plenty of extra credit and checks in regularly, Grading is clear and consistent. Highly recommended if you're willing to work hard.
Given that this was my first introduction to anthropology, I enjoyed Professor Simpson's class and the experiential knowledge he had to offer. There is a lot of reading and writing as expected, but it helped me to better retain each module.
This professor is good to go with fair grading and feedback.
You can tell he is very interested in the material he teaches and it helps to engage the student in what you're learning about. He provides great feedback to students and provides it quickly and answers emails fast. Modules take some time, but they clearly show the material you're learning and it's very interesting. Great professor!
Fun class, the professor is passionate about the class, which is good it makes the class feel fun and if you do your assignments, you do fine in the class.
Professor Simpson is clearly very passionate about Anthropology and his experience in the field makes the class much more interesting than just a regular gen-ed class. I really enjoyed the content of the class and learned a lot more than I expected.
Professor Simpson is a dedicated and approachable anthropology professor. He respectfully corrects students and goes the extra mile to ensure concepts are clear. His course modules are well-structured and very easy to understand, making the class both engaging and manageable. Will I take this class again? Definitely YES, a million times!
Very good teacher, felt like he was with me every step of the way even tough it was an online class.
I found the presentation of Prof. Simpson's materials to be flawless, he really has created a wealth of resources for the online student and creates an atmosphere of inclusivity. His experience and knowledge abound, as he talks passionately about the subjects discussed. Great Teacher!
Dale is very nice and understanding! Dale is very passionate about what he does. His class is pretty straight forward and if you have a questions very easy to access him via email. Took him this summer for the 2nd 5 week course. A lot of course work but not hard at all. I would most definitely recommend him!! Take Dale for any type of Anthropology!
Dr Simpson was awesome, very passionate about what he's teaching.
Good teacher but be prepared to read a lot for a 3000 word end of course paper.
His assignments were straightforward, organized, and engaging. There's a decent amount of assignments, but they're pretty simple. Plus, there's plenty of opportunities for you to get extra credit. He gives great feedback and grading criteria is clear. You can tell he's very passionate about what he teaches!! Would 100% recommend taking his class!!
Very friendly professor, who you can almost relate to alot in many different sectors. With that being said, his class is also very straightforward and simple. You will have to put effort, but as long as you try your best, its almost impossible to get anything but an A. He structures the class in a way to helps you focus on learning and not a grade.
ddfsj is a great professor. He is clearly enamored with anthropology and it translates into his teaching methods. You will have to do lots of reading and watch lots of content but that should be a given when taking a course about the study of humans. The content is interesting though! He is very accessible and very understanding. Do the work!
Just do the assignments and don't procrastinate. Great Professor and made the class enjoyable.
Such a great instructor! He is hilarious and has the type of personality that really ties you in. He also offers lots of extra credit!
It was a lot of work but I learned a lot. If you're taking the 5 week class, do not procrastinate. It goes by really fast, and it's worth learning all the modules.
He was good. Always gave you a chance to improve if you didn't do well and a million extra credit oppurtunities. It's really hard to fail this class if you actually do the stuff he asks.
good professor, very clear expectations just don't start the term paper late.
Awesome teacher and learned a lot about the subject but honestly it was more work than it should've been for a required gen ed class. I did more work for this class than my honors classes.
Even at the beginning of the class, I feel very at ease with the workload. The information provided is very insightful and I look forward to learning more in this class.
This guy is awesome! Not only is he super funny, but insanely smart too and a pro in his field. I took him online so I could pace myself. As long as you read what he is providing you and do the modules you'll pass with a high grad easily. Highly recommend him!
The easiest class you could take!! The teacher is passionate about what he does. He has videos to help you with long assignments. I struggle so much with keeping my grades up, but as long as you do it on time, you're good, and the due dates are like every two weeks. Take it!!
He is a funny and great professor who will respond to you. There is a lot of work, but that is expected. I have learned a lot so far and it is by far one of the most interesting classes I have taken. Take him!
Great teacher!
Dale is a great professor! His lectures are easy to look through and you can tell he clearly loves what he teaches :)! I would definitely take his class again!
Although this class was online Dr. Dale did not make it boring. Some of the videos were a little long but he definitely tried to switch it up. I liked that sometimes he would include videos from his YouTube channel which I found very interesting. He had a variety of discussion question to choose from. Everything was organized and easy to read.
Dr. Simpson is great and always responds positively to emails while grading assignments quickly. The course has 14 modules, each with 1 MC test, 1 discussion, and 1 video review. You'll do well if you complete everything by the end of the semester. EC can boost your grade by over two letter grades. Dr. Simpson genuinely cares about student success.
Hours of lecture notes every week (a total of 14 modules consisting of discussion posts, essay notes, and regular notes). Dale wasn't a crazy hard grader but just had a crazy workload. Easy class if u have the discipline.
Professor is enthusiastic about the subject, thought I was going to dislike anthro online, but the videos and his announcements/memes are entertaining. Not biased, appreciates good discussion and writing skills for this class. Pretty cool teacher also when it comes to archaeology and anthro topics! Highly recommend.
Overall, I thought this class was amazing. The expectations were laid out clearly. Professor Simpson was very flexible with assignments and timelines. The class is a little reading heavy but overall manageable. It was a different approach to anthropology. I have a better understanding of the cultures, histories and importances of this region.
You can tell that Dr. Simpson is very passionate about the subject. He is also extremely flexible with assignments, as all of them are due by the end of the course. The structure of the class isn't difficult, but even if you're not initially invested in the assignments, you can't help but actually learn and take something away from each one.
Dr. Dale is a well organized, quick grading, anthropology guru. His online module structures are consistent, so you know exactly what needs to get done to get an A. His grading system is quite interesting in that you have autonomy over how you will get your A, which I appreciate. Thorough and understanding professor; definitely recommend!
I never though I'd be interested in anthropology. When I took this course I didn't think I'd enjoy it that much but it was actually really fun. Dr. Dale seems genuinely interested in see his students succeed which is great motivation. He is mostly flexible with due dates, but plan accordingly because the will creep up on you. Overall, great!
Professor Simpson is great and is really passionate about anthropology but his course has a lot of material to cover. just be consistent
DDFSJ was a good professor to have for online courses. All of the assignments were pretty straightforward and clear. Some of the videos we watched were on the lengthier side. I'm talking about you, M13. All in all, quick and easy class, don't slack, it'll be really annoying trying to catch up.
Class isn't have bad, you have to a discussion post, quiz, and and video description paragraph every week which is doable. Professor has tons of extra credit opportunities aswell and is really really good with due dates and is very preferable. Would definitely recommend.
He gives many opportunities to grow.
