This class is easy but anly if you do the small but consistant amont of daily work required. He knows what he's talking about and has a lot to share. Go to class and pay close attention and you'll do fine.

Great class (Fundamentals of Scripture Study), easy work, and really simple open note quizzes and tests. One of the easiest Religion classes I've ever taken, from a funny and very knowledgable teacher

He is a GREAT teacher! He is so good at being funny when appropriate and then transitioning into serious mode when he needs to. He is very knowledgable, very helpful, and very personable. The quizes he gives are easy, but you are still able to learn what you need to. I have never heard a complaint about him.

Sturm is the bomb diggity! No mid-term and optional final make life that much easier during the busiest times of the semester. He loves his students and you can tell through his teaching. He is also so smart and has great insights that he adds into the lesson to help you understand! I strongly recomment him!!

Loved this class! Bro. Sturm has a great way of drawing his teaching from what interest the students & then taking it up a notch. He is incredibly knowledgable & very engaging. I always had a great time in class. Loved the grading & homework format. I never felt burdened with the workload but make sure you're in class & take really good notes!

Bro Sturm (rimes with term) is an EXCELLENT teacher! He really knows his scriptures well and he is a very good teacher. I highly recommend taking him :) He knows what he is doing and he teaches you how to look into the scriptures more. The only book he asks you to have besides you scriptures is a dictionary, and you can use ones online too.

I LOVE BROTHER STURM!!! I learned so much in his class...He's is really great and wrote some of the movies we used to watch in seminary. I would sign up for another one of his classes in a heartbeat!

I keep taking his classes because I feel he knows really understands how a religion class should be taught in a college setting -not too overwhelming with too much homework. He just wants you to do the reading you should every day anyway. He also really knows his stuff and has corrected me on so many things I thought were true for years.

Brother Sturm is a wonderful teacher. The only issue I had with this course is that it was more on the historical side and less on the spiritual side (he didn't usually tie things back to spiritual matters). Light workload and easy final, though!

His class is wonderful. His mid term is to meet with him for 5 min so he can get to know you while you eat cheese its. For Christian hist it's a little more work than his other classes because you have to answer questions with every reading but you get unlimited tries. It more of a challenge to fail his class than it is to pass it

Love this guy. He has a unique teaching style, Imagine the biggest nerd for star wars getting paid to talk about star wars to a class and that is what his class is like. He knows his stuff but comes off has humble anyway. Easy coursework, finished the homework for the entire semester in the first week. Would recommend to anyone.

THIS IS HOW ALL RELIGION CLASSES SHOULD BE. Do the work and show up to class, you get an A. No tests, but there's an EASY final paper at the end of the semester. Overall, he is very generous with grading. I think it is more points for completion and reflection honestly, which is great because I feel like being actually tested on religion is lame.

This teacher is awesome! He is super understanding. He really knows his stuff and teaches it in an interesting way. I like the way he grades the reading responses on how we interpreted the reading, so its based on your personal experience with reading. He has quizzes every two weeks but take notes and you're fine. I love this class and I got an A!

I LOVE BROTHER STURM. This is a great class. I learned a lot, but the workload isn't horrible. Reading and a short response due each class, and an optional final worth 5%, but he gives out so much extra credit I didn't even need to take the final, and I still got a high A! Great lectures. Quizzes every 2 weeks, take notes and you'll do great!

Brother Sturm is amazing. I took his Jesus Christ and the Everlasting Gospel class and absolutely loved it. You have quizzes every other week, but they're open note and really short. The midterm was a five-minute meeting with him in his office so he could get to know you, and the final is just a reflection paper. No other tests. Take his classes!

Brother Sturm is a great professor. I truly feel the spirit and learn something new each class. He is very personable and willing to work with you. There is a small reading and journal due each class, but it is very easy. Just show up and you get an A. No test: the final is a 5 minute get-to-know-you interview with him. Great professor!

I loved Brother Sturm! His class was extremely helpful and taught me how to improve my scripture study within realistic boundaries. He was very spiritual and inspirational, despite the fact that lectures were sometimes a bit dull. Attendance is mandatory, and there are weekly assignments, but not hard.I would definitely take another class from him!

Brother Strum is awesome! I really enjoyed his class. Typically when I am in a religion class I just want to get out and go on with my life but when I was in his class I really felt a desire to learn. This is how a religion class should be.

His lectures are great, I learn so much every time. Really wants to get to know his students. Assignments are always pertinent to what we are learning, and while it can be a lot of reading, it's all good stuff. If you don't miss a day you get an extra 3 percent added at the end. Mid-term is eating cheez-its.

He is so fun, humble, knowledgeable, openminded, fair, lead by principles, inspires with his teachability, is straightforward yet easy going, loves inspiring laughter here and there, offers spectacular insights based in doctrine, always invites the Spirit, truly caring and loving, honest, truth-seeker, loves family and the Gospel, cares about us :)

Absolutely loved this class. Brother Strum is a great teacher. I learned a lot. Homework is easy and plenty of extra credit is offered. However you can't be lazy either. Would highly recommend to anyone who want to get more out of their scriptures.

The easiest religion class I've ever taken. There is not much of hw. You do have to write an insight. You'll be required to share your insight on a certain topic during the semester. He knows the gospel so well. He'll recognize your face. His insights are all very great. You don't have to take final if you turn in your hw on time and go to class.

The best religion teacher on Campus. Insanely Smart, most likely a genius. Really understanding a laid back when it comes to problems that might arise. You have to do a little reading and insight, but super easy and not demanding. Probably spent a half hour max outside of class prepping. I would take him again in a heartbeat.

Brother Sturm is just an all around great guy. His lectures are incredible, and his insight is unparalleled. His knowledge of scripture, and his way of teaching it can interest just about anyone. He recognizes his students outside of class, and he really cares about what he is doing.

Bro Sturm is funny and has a lot of good things to share. Class was easy. You write a final paper, you have to share a comment once and respond to readings every class. For the midterm you meet with him for 5 min. He is very accommodating and I liked his lessons/discussions.

Brother Sturm is a great teacher. He helped write the curriculum for this class which is reassuring to know that he knows what he is talking about. He really cares for all of his students, and will get to know all of their names, even if he has 300 students a semester! Great guy!

I took Strum for 3 semester because of how much I loved him as a professor. Amazing lectures and super funny. He's wanting you to pass so he's willing to work with you any way he can. His quizzes are in class and he always gives extra credit for them. Take notes, read, and email him and you'll do great! I highly recommend him!

If you want a great teacher, take Brother Sturm. His lectures are really interesting; I learned a lot. He's very enthusiastic about what he teaches too. The homework is pretty easy, just do the readings and write down 150 words on your thoughts for each day. Quizzes in class aren't too difficult either, just take some notes and you'll be fine.

My word, Brother Sturm is the equvilant of a mission president without the actual title. He's one of the most qualified, informed, and experienced professors in the religion department and he has some of the greatest discourses and lectures I've participated in at this University. His assignments and quizzes are pretty easy. Just be sure to do them

Brother Sturm is amazing! I learned so much about the Gospel that I didn't know. His class is always interesting and he is pretty funny. He genuinely cares about all of his students and makes an effort to get to know them. There is quite a bit of reading for the course, but just as much as a normal religion class, and it is totally worth it.

I gained so much insight and valuable knowledge from this class and Brother Sturm is the perfect teacher for the course! He has a lot of experience and is more concerned about the students learning than just getting a grade which makes the homework very insightful. Totally recommend this class!

Brother Sturm demonstrates his love for his students each class period. He says the most important assignment of the semester is to have a short meeting with him in his office, in order for him to just get to know you better. He is incredibly good at teaching with the spirit, and is very entertaining.

Definitely the best teacher on campus. Entertaining, inspirational, and downright hilarious at some moments. Every moment in his class is engaging and intuitive and he clears up misconceptions while expounding upon concepts and doctrine know one hardly knows about. He has my upmost respect, being as qualified as he is. He is a must take professor.

Attendance is important, but class was so interesting I didn't want to miss. There was a quiz every fourth class on the lectures so take good notes. The quizzes aren't too bad tho. This is my 2nd semester taking religion from Bro Sturm and I wish he taught all of the religion classes! Very good lectures, very organized, and very knowledgeable without going into "questionable" material or rambling on like so many other religion professors do. Homework is generally easy, and wants to see that you've learned and paid attention.

I've taken multiple class from Brother Sturm, he is one of my favorite professors. He's super funny and his lessons are amazing. I always felt the spirit so strong in his classes. He's very clear on his grading criteria, and is super understanding. He takes the time to get to know every student personally. I wish I could take more classes from him!

Profesor Sturm was actually my mission president!! He is a very caring, nice man!! He loves the gospel and the Bible. We would do devotionals every week and I learned so much from him! He is a naturally great teacher!! He is very passionate.

Brother Sturm is seriously one of the best teachers at BYU-Idaho. He will motivate you and help in any way that he can. He has a great sense of humor, he is always smiling, and he genuinely cares about his students. He always testifies of Jesus Christ, teaches directly from the scriptures, and focuses on letting the students teach! I recommend him!

All classes are lectures, but his lectures are easy to understand, he doesn't teach over your head. You have to write 2 150 word reflections a week on readings (which aren't huge). You can take notes on electronic. He's funny and I enjoyed the class. Would take again.

Fantastic teacher, always enjoyed his classes and taught things about both our church and about other churches beliefs as well. which we don't normally talk about in our church. He grades on attendance as well as having around 2 assignments a week which are about reading the BoM. The quizzes, are very simple and he has an easy final and mid-term.

He will mark you absent without warning if you use your phone or do homework in class and that rubbed me the wrong way. But overall, I really enjoyed having him as a teacher and would take his class again.

I've had some pretty mid religion professors at BYUI, last semester in my Book of Mormon class we opened the Book of Mormon maybe three times. Brother Sturm gives you enough historical context to understand the text in our day and doesn't turn it into a history lesson. His focus is on what you get out of it rather than making sure you read x amount

This is the easiest and most enlightening religion class at BYUI. I like his teaching style and he hasn't said anything that's felt low key not true. He gives easy and unexcessive homework. Attendance is important, but you can miss 3 classes without problems. Take notes during class to do well on quizzes. I would take a class from Bro Sturm again.

This professor is easy-going and very kind. You can't miss more than 8 days, but that is not a problem. Also the first 3 days you miss don't count against you. The prep for classes are also very easy and take a short amount of time.

Brother Sturm has been one of my favorite religion professors and professors in general! I don't think he has a mean bone in his body. He cares about getting to know the students. Read from the book for HW and take the open book quizzes. Only one project which was fairly simple. Loved that he was very light on HW! (History of the Bible Class)

Brother Sturm knows how to do a religion class right. His lectures are engaging. The homework is two 40-minute prep assignments a week. The structure of the assignments encourages the students to take initiative in scripture study. I think it's not too much and not too little. I definitely would recommend his class to anyone.

Brother Sturm was one of my favorite professors. He does require 45 minutes of preparation before each class period. His knowledge about the scriptures and doctrine is incredible. He never made me feel dumb for asking questions and made each of his students feel valued!!

He is so smart. He knows so much about the scriptures. If you have any questions about doctrine he is the guy to ask. His classes are all lecture based and they can be quite interesting. There are weekly readings and a couple of easy quizzes. I learned the doctrine so much deeper than I knew before.

Brother Sturm really killed it! I always walked out of his class feeling motivated and enlightened. He knows how to bring the Spirit, get us involved, and I just felt so comfortable in his class! He is also crazy knowledgeable in the scriptures and is able to give pretty solid answers to our questions even if the answer is "we don't know".

Dr. Sturm is a great example of what a religion teacher should look like. He is unbiased and very knowledgeable about different religions and teaches in a very good understandable way. He has a quiz about what we learned every once in a while, and graded readings, as well as a final paper but it is an overall excellent class.

Brother Sturm teaches the class well and sets his students up for success. The material is pretty easy, and I wish we were a bit more technical in our application.
