Funny sense of humor, lets you out of class early sometimes. Easy to follow along, easy to ask questions. Test are rather easy if you do the homework. The class in general is an easy pass. I would recommend him. Just take notes and do all the homework and youll do fine.

He gives a lot of notes. As long as you do the homework, you will pass. A great teacher. I would recommend him to anyone.

Very good lectures, had notes that followed the book and made sure to ask if everyone understood the concepts. Diff Eq was a tough class but he helped and came to class early every meeting to help. Tests were also very fair and followed the book, some problems were even from the book.Don't know why he was rated poorly, whoever did probably failed

Nice guy, going to class is a must because you start a new section every class. A lot of notes are taken, but he is always willing to slow down or clarify. His tests are easy, as long as you do the homework and come to class.

Prof. Serme actually helped me enjoy math. I know that sounds cheesy, but it's just that I learned so much so fast. He has a talent for teaching those that have a difficulty with math.

I failed the previous semester with another teacher that can't teach. Mr. Hammock answers the why to the rules, so that you can understand what you're doing. I recommend him anytime. Excellent!!!

He understands that everyone doesn't "get" math like he does and patiently answers ALL questions and explains different ways to "see" it. He sincerely wants his students to learn. Very positive, never rude or downtalking.

He teaches right out of the book and is very clear on all material. Reviews are identical to the test questions and he gives bonus problems. Do the homework and reviews and you will get a very EASY A. Also, office hours are extremely helpful! Very laid back teacher, makes life less stressful.

Whats with all the beef with mr.hammock, he was a really fun teacher and nice too. I passed the state test with no problem and it's because mr.hammock told us what to do for it. I'd take him again, in fact I am taking him again next semester.

beginning algebra, was my 2nd time taking the class, i got a D the first time around, with mr.hammock I got a B and passed the state exam. kind professor and helpful, definitely someone you should take if your not that good at math.

A nice person. Notes right out of the book as he goes. It might get confusing at first, but if you go with him one-on-one, he'll help you understand it better. Would give extra credit if you the HW for a chapter before a test. HW was 10% and had all semester to do it, he said he might not do that anymore.

I'm not sure what the other precalc reviewer is talking about.If asked, will walk you through each problem. He goes over both the online & book homework if asked, responds to email promptly, is always available during his office hours & speaks math to those who don't.I only wish I could take him for calc 1,2 3 and diff eqns. He's that good.

Professor Hammock was an awsome teacher! I took precalc during the spring semester with a different professor and had to drop out cause i was doing so poorly. Prof Hammock made things so much easier than i could imagine and he teaches the material accurately, never short changes you. I would most definitly take him for any math class! i got an A!!

The funniest math professor I have came across.In my experience, math professor's tend to have that "all business" personality.Not Professor Hammock. He's super kind, and super cute. Kind of a arrogant at times, but still cool! He is very passionate about what he's teaching. He will try to help you, help yourself. And that's really all you can ask.

Prof. Hammock is a real nice and funny teacher. defanitley makes Math a little more interesting. He is always more than willing to help students.Sometimes there is an easier way of explaining things,but he uses the hard way. If you show up to class and do homework, you will pass this class.

He is a good guy. Helps you if you need it, and if you are good at math like I am, he doesn't really mind what you do as long as you don't interrupt.

Professor Hammock was the coolest teacher I have ever had by far, convinced the world will be ending in 2012 he gets straight to the point and is serious about his math. Very funny in his sarcastic ways. The only math class I have ever actually wanted to attend.

Take this professor. He will work with you and answer questions as long as you do the work and understand what you are asking. If you don't do your homework and come to class with no questions, he's going to assume you don't want to learn.

Calculus is not an easy subject, but even though he likes to make jokes he will do anything so you learn and understand the subject. Very easy going personality and knowledgeable. Attendance is important to keep up with the class and the book is also needed to do homework. I absolutely recommend him!

Algebra is a class where attendance is mandatory (because if you don't you will not pass). i am not a math person but I did the study guides he gave us and i got an A in the class. So I definitely think that if you are looking for a cool teacher take him.

Fantastic prof with an offbeat sense of humor. Jokes and chats without ever losing track of time or material. Book itself unnecessary, but included access code for the online homework and quizzes IS. Unlimited attempts at online homework, 2 allowed for online quizzes. Hard tests, but lowest one dropped. Def taking him again for MAC1105.

I strongly suggest taking prof Hammock, he is very fair and gives examples that make math relatable/easier. I am math retarded and got a B. Attendence is not mandatory but if you miss less than 3 classes he replaces your lowest test grade with your final(if it helps your grade).Do yourself a favor and take him.

Really nice teacher!! He explains things well and asks repeatedly if anyone has questions. Breaks up the tedium of math with little tangents now and then but manages to stay on track. Definitely recommended!!!

I had two semesters with Prof. Hammock and would take more if I could. He is simply amazing. His love for math is inspiring, it makes you want to do well and make him proud. Such a talented and intelligent professor. Extremely witty and entertaining too. He is a must.

Full online class except exams. Overall not a bad class, math is difficult in itself but professor responds rather quickly. Study the practices and you will do well in the course.

I took Prof. Hammock for College Algebra online, and it worked out wonderfully. We used MyLab as the digital platform, and essentially there was homework for each lesson, a few quizzes, and a midterm and final. Best of all, he set the due date for the first half of the lessons on the Midterm, second half on Final, which let me go at my own pace.

He wears flip flops with his button up and tie. Quick witted and will appreciate you speaking up in class. He's great at breaking a problem down for you without making you feel stupid.

I took this class online not really knowing what to expect but taking this class was a great experience. Yes there is homework and quizzes but you have as many times as you want to do them so you can keep up your grade. There is a midterm and final but they are not too difficult as long as you do the homework and really teach yourself.

Amazing teacher. Does a great job at explaining questions thoroughly so you understand. Does not make you feel stupid when asking questions. Tests are just like the review. Takes problems from the book, you don't need it, but it helps. You do have a lot of online homework to do in lab, but it helps you understand. Allover an awesome teacher.

I'm TERRIBLE with math, I was dreading this class, but it turned out to be one of the easiest online classes I've ever taken. Endless attempts at homework. 3 attempts on each test/quiz. You can take both midterm and final at home (2 attempts for midterm, 1 for final). You can go at your own pace, work is due right before exams. I highly recommend.

Took his class online and it was fairly easy. Barely any homework which you get unlimited tries on a few quizzes which you get 3 tries on. The midterm you get two tries on so take advantage and the only thing that is one and done is the final exam. All the quizzes and tests are at home and it's pretty self explanatory.

TAKE HIM! If you're in a class with Prof. Hammock, and you put in effort, you'll pass. HE's funny and really laid back which makes the class less stressful. I've taken all of my math classes from him and I don't plan on changing that! Honestly, the best math teacher i've ever had.

I took this class online. So there is not much I can say. He did give me a second chance to complete two quizzes that I failed. Which was cool since he never had to open it again. He takes a while to respond when you email,but he does get back to you regardless. I would take him again. His class was my first online class as well.

This is a self paced class. The discussion board is used for peer to peer questions & answer help. There are pretty much 2 due dates. One is before midterm & one before final, therefore, u can finish early. Midterm & Final are taken at home. This class was perfect for my hectic schedule, but you need to be self motivated & keep up with assignments

Took him online -loved it. Must be self motivated-only 2 due dates all semester + can work ahead. HW unlimited tries (plus points just for clicking on videos in HW) + quizzes 2 tries + drops the lowest of each. Midterm and final at home no time limit. Not friendly at all but reset multiple things for me that I messed up on. Very understanding!

Do your homework, Stay in the Lab and you will pass. He's a quick responder to emails and can be short tempered with foolishness. But overall he very good, positive and drops lowest HM and Quiz Grades. All done at home but YOU NEED TO BE IN THE MATH LAB for help!! (NO JOKE) 2 deadlines so you have to do about 1.5-2 chapters a week to stay ahead.

This class was a little unorganized (old due dates in syllabus) &the teacher is sometimes slow to answer emails. He was very laid back &otherwise great. He also gives you two due dates for all assignments (once in the middle of semester, one at the end) so you need to be disciplined to do well in the class. He lets you take final and mid at home

Seriously though, the most understanding professor I have ever had and genuinely makes the class seem fair and doable. 100% recommend. Try your best and ask for help when you need it.

Hes an amazing teacher. Theres only two major due dates (midterm and final). Homework due before midterm and final. All work is done online including quizzes, homework and tests. Take him if you can. Hes truly understanding as well!

Make sure to do all of his assignments. There were two due dates for all of the HW assignments including the quizzes and tests (2 chances per quiz/test). I had no problem completing 3-4 of his assignments per week to finish before the given due dates. He provides tutoring zoom calls once a week which is not mandatory. Loved him and his class.

The homework and due dates are extremely clear and Professor Hammock gives you plenty of time to do them. He is very understanding with situations and you can email him with any problem regarding the class that you're having. I'm horrible at math, but was actually able to pass his class. You can also pretty much work at your own pace.

Professor Hammock is honestly one of the best professors I have taken at the school. He is very helpful, provides great feedback, and gives amazing lectures. His sense of humor makes learning engaging and fun. Expect multiple quizzes and tests in the course, but they are easy enough after you get started. Utilizing the Math Lab will get you an A.

Great professor if you are good at working at your own pace. All work is through iMathAS. No honor lock, all tests and quizzes are through Canvas. He opens all assignments before the due date really great guy, but you don't hear from him much. I didn't have any issues so I never had to message him. Honestly easy A take him.

Best math teacher! I took him for intermediate and college algebra. He doesn't use honor lock, and puts all the work out so you can work at your own pace. Great class take him!

Calculus with Professor Hammock was a very approachable class. He takes time to explain the difficult concepts and will even go over ideas we are supposed to already know from a previous class. Grades based on HW, Quizzes, and Tests and gives 20% for homework which is generous. I hope he teaches the next calculus so I can take him again.

The best online course I have ever taken. the whole class is on my math lab but the examples are very educational. honestly test was an easy A i wish i could take him for all my math classes

If you like working at your own pace, take his class. I took it online. He opens the first half of the assignments for you to work on, then the second half later in the term. Provides a schedule to use so you're not stressed out. Just don't procrastinate, then you'll have like 30 assignments due in one day. Great if you need the flexibility.

I took a class with him a few years ago. I got an A in his class, and I'm not good at math. He works with students to help them do well if they put the work in.

Great professor. Almost all assignments were done on mathxl and could be done ahead of time. He gave all the resources necessary to succeed, and would help out if you couldn't understand. (This was liberal arts math, a very easy subject)

Professor Hammock's class has a great self-paced format. The assignments are manageable, and the unlimited MyMathLab attempts really help when you're struggling. Plus, unstuck AI is a game-changer for test prep!

Good professor. Takes the time to explain things even the ones that you should already know from previous classes. Not a strict grader. Just have to show up and you get at least a 40 on exams. 1 take home test. If you show up and either ask questions or pay attention when others do you will do fine

Prof. Hammock is a great instructor who makes calc easy to understand. He provides helpful test reviews before tests and adds humor to his lectures. At times, he may over explain which can be a bit confusing, but the repetition often reinforces key concepts. Hw makes 25% and you can easily cheat. Tests are 75%

Professor Hammock makes class fun with engaging lectures and interesting tangents. Consistent study is key—a minimum of 1 hour daily works well. He's flexible with homework deadlines, and his tests are fair with great study guides. I'd gladly take another class with him

by far, my favorite professor at Winter Park campus was very lenient and understanding and make sure you learn the math makes a lot of jokes and makes your day better. really values his student success. TRUSTTT take this class!
