Dr. Bender is by far the best Chem 401 teacher at Sac City. Assignments were not difficult, tests are easy to study for, and if you do your homework, and his handouts, there is no way to not get an A, but you have to go to lecture and take notes, and PAY ATTENTION!!! He is very entertaining also!!!

I am so thankful I was able to take Bender before he retires. He is AMAZING! Class consists of 3 exams & 1 Final, Lab, HW & Quizzes. I did A LOT of studying outside of class and received an A. I've seen ppl not really study go to class and still get a C. You get what you put in. Take him ASAP cause like i said hes retiring soon!

He doesn't give you extra credit at all. He is an awesome teacher, tells you what will be in the test he want's everyone to pass I would definitely take him again. He is almost retiring . Homework is not mandatory but attend to all his lectures and be on time. He gets annoyed by late people.

he had seen some people cheating and yet he was not that strict (student accidentally use SIRI during the test once hahah). He only tells you what is important and exams are not hard as long as you study your notes and lab paper. I was comfortable with him and very approachable and makes the class not boring. What an awesome dude. Thanks Mr Bender

I wish I could express how good of an instructor Dr. Bender is through an interpretive dance, but unfortunately I can only give him a rating on this site. Dan is the man! Easy class if you can keep up. If not, you're screwed. I highly recommend him. Some day I will dance, some day.

Would take again

I am glad am taking him just before he retires. He is really nice and approachable. His lectures are easy to follow. He is more like a high school teacher he looks like he cares about his students. He focuses on most important topics and mostly works problems on the board and put handouts for practice in his website. His a great professor.

Wouldn't take again

He look like a nice guy. But he is very disorganized and hard to follow. His syllabus and lab schedule is typed wrong. He doesn't use power points, worksheets, homeworks, to prepare you for the exam. His exam doesnt look hard but you won't have an idea of it. His way of teaching is not clear and misleading. He is tricky.
