He was a great teacher. One of the best. I loved his class because it gave me something to think about. If I had not taken History already I would take his as well.

He is a great teacher. Mr. Camilli doesn't really follow that much out of the book so you need to show up to class. The tests are super easy if you review your note. He is a very politically liberal person so if you are ultra conservative you will hate him. I loved the class and had a lot of fun.

Camilli is an awesome teacher! I never liked history, but he makes it so interesting. His way of teaching is by lecturing so be sure to be in class 90% of the time. I never even had a book the whole semester and achieved an A. With the book and reading what he teaches, an A should be attainable. This guy RULES at his lectures though so if you just take good notes and study them you should be able to get an A that way too, don't buy a book!

I absouletly loved this teacher. I like history to begin with but he made it so interesting. He is very passionate about history, government, and teaching. I reccomend him completely! Most of what you need to know is in the notes but the tests can stray away from the notes from time to time. Reading the book wouldn't hurt.

If you hate politics, do not take this class. But if you do it is the place to be. You can actually talk about things that affected this country in its history, and how it relates to the present. When you complete this class you will be one of the few people in america who has read the constitution and know your rights as an american.

S.C.C. needs more teachers like Dan Camilli. His brilliance and knowledge of the subjects that he teaches astounds me. He is very passionate about politics, and likes to compare the past with the present. He loves to hear the opinions of others, but if you plan to disagree with him make sure you do the reading and make valid points.

Very smart guy and Harvard educated. He is brave to teach this way in FL. Yes, he is liberal minded but I live for politics. No matter what class you take of his, you will get powerful information for the politically involved student. Information that could reshape a mind. Really makes you think and question everything. Very good proffessor tests are easy as long as u attend all his classes and take good notes it basically a give away. finals are all tests combined in one. which was good. very nice understanding highly recommended. and i took him over the summer.

Very entertaining class. The one thing I will remember about him is the discussions he had about current events. If you take notes about everything he writes on the board you will get a good grade. His handwriting is a bit sketchy but you can make it out. Everything on the tests are right from the notes.

Very easy teacher. Grade is all based on tests. Tests come straight from his notes and some book. Make sure to pay attention to the notes on the first day because they are on the first test. As long as you take down his notes and study those it is easy.

This professor seems to push his progessive/liberal view/agenda down the throats of the naiive students. You can't get a word in edgewise or voice your opinion, because he is so strong about his own. This class is a History class, but you'd think it's a class on Politics! He is so far to the left, he's falling off the edge.

Very awesome professor! This was one of my favorite classes of the day. He is very much against Republicans, but that was fine by me. Don't take the class if you can't live with that. Besides that, very easy to talk to and tests are from notes. Very easy to pass the class with a good grade.

His class is very interesting, but extremely opinionated. I didn't learn much about history. The class was supposed to be to the present time, but we didn't even get to WWI! However, I did enjoy the class and it's an easy A. He does NOT use the book at all, so don't waste your money buying it! Also, he bashes Christians a lot. =/

He is very opinionated and really doesn't get to "present day." Regardless if you share his opinions or not, he will open your eyes.

To put things frankly, Camilli is probably the best professor I've had so far. He has a certain passion for his job that so many are missing, and he legitimately enjoys what he does. Might offend some babies, but he manages to turn what could easily be a dull class into a genuinely interesting experience. I highly recommend him, needless to say.

Professor Camilli is such a wonderful educator. He is very passionate about teaching and the subject, and it clearly shows through his work. I took him for U.S. History 1 & 2 and I loved him. He may be a bit opinionated, but the fact that he speaks his mind and doesn't sugar-coat the world and its surroundings is what makes him phenomenal.

I really did NOT like this teacher. If you are taking him for Fall 2012 I feel extremely sorry for you. He is VERY opinionated and extremely anti-republican. I had to mentally prepare myself for his class. I was glad it was over.I will NEVER take him again and wouldnt recommend him either.

Bostonian. Harvard alumnus. Every lecture goes far past the given material and ends up being more a healthy, broadened dose of intellectual stimuli. Receiving something so invaluable every day, for 5 months, is a gift for which I am quite grateful. It is because of this course that I now own several books on U.S history for personal reading.

He is an excellent instructor. I was interested in how our country got in such a mess. He cleared all that up for me. You will get an A if you go to class and take good notes, because his test are based on his lectures. I loved his class, and felt I really got my moneys worth. He is by far one of the best instructors I have taken at SSC.

I took this class twice before and failed with another instructor. All I did was copy his notes and actually listen to what he said. I didn't even have to study for the tests because he made everything relevant. I didn't even have to study for tests and the only test I didn't get an A was the first one because I decided to cram for it the day of.

Quality teacher. Interesting stories and really ties in every lecture so that it is applicable or least understandable. Class is mandatory but I didn't mind because it was truly so enjoyable. Didn't even buy the book so just go to class, take notes and you WILL pass. Also NO HW which is always a plus!

I wasn't sure about taking a history class that started from the late 1800's to present... but two weeks in I was happy with my choice. There were 3 tests and 2 papers that came with the tests and a final exam. The textbook is helpful but it's not necessary to pass the class. I'm taking another class with him.

Easy easy easy. Go to class, take notes, and do the papers that go with the test and you will sail right through. Don't write everything he writes down or it will be insanely overwhelming. If you are taking him for 2020 don't expect anything past the 1930s and no wars were ever talked about. Easy class but he missed the good stuff.

Did not like him at all. He will not keep his very biased political and religious views out of the classroom. We didn't even make it to the end of the course. We ended with FDR. Will never take another class of his again.

Camilli is the man! He keeps the discussion involved. Attend class, take notes and study them. If you still need to take a history class, then really try and get into this one or another taught by Camilli. He is an interesting guy and the class is pretty easy as along as you write the simple essays for the first couple of tests and pay attention. There really is no reason not to get an A and not learn something about the US at the same time.

In all honesty, he's a bit overrated. People said he's an easy A but I got a B even with A's and B's for test grades. He can become a little bit obnoxious at times with his "know it all" attitude. As a person one on one, he's pretty cool to talk to. I would probably not take another class with him. This class felt more like politics than history.

I went into this class HATING history so much that I waited until my last semester of college to take my mandatory history credit. Professor Camilli taught history in such a way that had me ENJOYING history and his lectures were unique, interesting, and hilarious. His entire unit on Native Americans was my absolute favorite. Unfortunately, spring of 2017 was his last year at Seminole state but prof. Camilli was a great teacher that inspired his students and taught you how to connect history across all timelines. He spoke a lot about MAssachussetts but he was very funny and outspoken about his political views.
