A very funny guy and he makes learning easy by putting some humor in the subject. He makes fun of weird people in class but he's actually a great professor although, didn't have enuff time to explain or clarify Chapter 8. He curves really good too.

Really funny teacher. Gives fairly long tests but grades them with a big curve. Goldston really tries to make sure students understand the material. Probably the best calc professor at SJSU

Goldston is an excellent teacher. He is very fair to his students and makes the lectures very enjoyable and informative. Gives random pop-quizes, takes attendence. Very lax on homework. Midterms are a mixed-bag. VERY RECONMENDED, I am taking him again!

Starts with sections that most people have already done, HW isnt too bad. This guy is hillarious, prolly the funniest math teacher I've ever had.

Excellent teacher - focusses on method when handing out partial credit when grading, rather than exact answer. Homework is a joke only if you expect credt for it - it helps create dialogue with the students so he knows where we need help.

Class is too easy - may be a good or bad thing. He skips over anything that might pose a problem. Loves what he does, is good at what he does, and can be quite hilarious at times. He hands out practice midterms, which are very similiar to actual midterms

He is the first professor that does not care about grades. He would pass a student if he thinks that student has study hard enough.

Mr. Goldston is the greatest teacher because he knows how to teach and he cares about his students. Its not even that hes easy, is just that you understand it so much better because he teaches so dam well. He is WONDERFUL. YOU CANT GET NO BETTER THAN MR GOLDSTON. HES THE FU***** GREATEST!!!!

this teacher will cap on people if they make fun of him, but on grades he's really cool, he makes the hardest math class seem easy only if you study hard, he'll teach you the skill to pass aslong as you take notes. A on final means A in class no matter what you got in other tests.

Best teacher I've had my 4 years on campus.He's very casual but probably one of the smartest math teachers in the world(solved a theorm that no one could solve for years but he's real shy about the issue).If your a dork and annoying, he will make fun of you. He's funny,ez going,&lenient~Math32!:-(

Great class! 3 midterms n a final plus homework (which he never collects) Tells u exactly what will be on the midterms n final and if you complain enough, he'll make it easier. BIG curves. I got a D on a midterm, it became an A. Very reasonable. Class very amusing, you won't be bored. He's a funny guy with his purple backpack. Always 5 mins late.

any of his calc classes are easy with him teaching. once he bet $10 to a student to draw a circle on the board without making it squeak , and without lifting the chalk off the board. he lost and paid...take his class..

Excellent teacher. Lectures are very easy to understand. Midterms are easy. Just do the homework and you'll be fine. I know it's a lot of problems, but it's worth doing them. Read the text and examples. I receieved an A in his class.

he's really nice b/c he talks very funny! he's the best professor ever! his exams are easy only if you do the practice exams (they are very simple), but he usually does some tricky questions in the real exams!ps. he brings his daughters twice to the class, they are really cute and funny too!

Very Easy! doesn't lecture much b/c he goes over hw more. midterms R very easy w/ extra curve! some ppl do fail his midterms, but if you attend the classes, then it is easy to get an A in class. no need to do hw b/c you can still get an A without doing it. test are easy. he basically goes over every problem possible for the test. just study hard and youre gonna pass this class. oh did i mentioned, u can use like 4 cheat sheets for the test i know this rocks. this subject is hard but if you take it with this guy and you have to pass the class. oh and he also has big curves. take this guy. trust me.

probably the easiest math 70 youll ever take. he lectures slowly so you can understand and curves alot. he can be funny at times and i didnt even need to use the book. easy A in this class

He is one of the best mathematics professors I have ever had. attendance is extremely important he goes over problems that later on appear on midterms. extremely helpful and a fair grader. take him if you want to learn!

good professor. 3 midterms, 1 final. DONT BUY THE BOOK!! u wont use it. homework is OPTIONAL! gives u the answers, tells u what is going to be on the next test.. and u get cheat sheets with you. he cares about attendance and passes around a roll sheet. jokes around, funny and very nice guy, take math with him! i recommend GOLDSTON.

Being a 1st year made me nervous about this class. EASIEST class of the semester!only 3 midterms and a final. your allowed to use cheat sheets. copy everything on the board and use cheatsheets and you'll do great. didn't do any homework and got a B. close to an A. i didn't try too hard.funny guy. Best prof!

If you can get this teacher, do everything you can to get in. Curves every test including final. I got C's and B's on all test, ended up with an A. :) Also, he has a great sense of humor, oh my god, its actually entertaining to go to class. Don't BS the class, text, or sleep, and you will get an A. Seriously, I was shocked how easy the class was.

Goldston was okay for me. Provided lots of study guides for the exams. The tests themselves were straightforward with a couple of curve balls. The only problem was that Goldston seemed like more of a comedian than a teacher and some lectures got boring quick but if you are looking for a good grade take him. Huge curves on tests!

He's the funniest professor I had so far in college. He makes jokes right on the spot so the class is never boring. He curves like crazy on his tests. I got a 75/90 on one and it was a solid A. He gives you 2 midterms for previous years and the solutions to them to help you prepare for the midterms. The midterms are practically the same.

A really gool guy. The matirial is pretty wack, but he tries to make it understandable and fun. He really cares about the students and whether or not they understand, and will pretty much hand you your midterms and finals. (Just FYI, his finals are almost exactly off of the midterms you take, and you get half a million cheat sheets!!)

Didn't really understand the class at all and still passed with an A. Just look over the midterms he hands out and finals and then use those problems for examples on cheatsheet and you'll pass with an A. Take him he is cool and he gave us homework and I never did it.. Instead I would just grade the hw and get extra credit.

Ok!!People who get less than B with this professor are not fit for college. Curves like crazy. I got 72/87 and it was a solid A. If you get A on the final you get A in the class even if you do not do HW or show up regularly to class. My attendance was probably 70% and I got an A because of final;-)

my favorite professor in college so far.....he is hilarious and the class never gets bored. you dont even need to do hw, curves like crazy 74 out of 118 was an A, for some reason i learn the stuff really well in this class maybe because he keeps u interested in and awake....i wish he was teaching calc 3 and other classes....

I didn't like his teaching method. HE solved textbook problems without lecturing on chapter first. He lectures pretty fast too. That said, no professor is perfect and most times then not you have to teach yourself and get extra help to do well. I managed to get a B due to his nice grading. math 31 isn't that hard at all, contrary to what people say

Ehhh quite an entertaining guy who teaches u how to do calculus. The way he lectures was really different from other professors. Anyway, his grading curve is ridiculously strong. Basically, a 50/100 is a C :O However, I did not learned much from this professor, but it was a great experience.

Professor goldston is entertaining to watch and pretty easy to learn. His methods are a bit weird but it works. He gives you old midterms a whole week before the actual one for you to look at and the old one is basically the same as the actual midterms.

One of the best math professors at the university. A very intelligent man who really knows mathematics in and out. Explains all concepts in depth. Study guides are extremely helpful for tests. Nice grading curve. Very funny and extremely entertaining! All around great person and an even better professor. Take his class!

This professor is hilarious! Whenever he sees the class is bored with the lecture he tries to make jokes or silly things like graphing off the white board and stuff like that. Dr. Goldston is a pretty cool guy, decent lecturer. Gives online homework, but not that much. Tests are straight forward and resemble homework and text problems. If you want an A I would recommend spending some extra time working text problems and you'll be set for the tests. Has a large curve so even if you don't do well you'll probably sill pass.

Best math teacher hands down. His humor and personality keeps the class interested. He literally gives you the problems to the midterms the class before. His curves are double bell and it is impossible to fail his class. Easiest A I've gotten in math hands down. Make sure to go to class because he tells you whats going to be on exams.

Goldston is a goofy and smart teacher. His hw is just Webassign and are not due until the last day of the semester. He has a HUGE curve when he grades depending on how the class does. You could manage to get extra credit with the ridiculous curve he has. One of the easiest teachers to have. Would recommend. One last thing: Cheat Sheets Galore.

The class isn't hard at all, but if you're confused about anything, feel free to approach him during his office hours, he'll be glad to help you figure out anything you might be confused about. He is absolutely brilliant, but sometimes he gets sidetracked and talks about other funny stuff.

This was a math class that I actually looked forward to. He explains it well and often makes class fun. Professor Goldston is pretty much a genius. His practice exams are very similar to the actual exam and his curves are amazing. It's pretty hard to not pass his class.

Goldston was one of the best professors I have ever taken. There was 3 midterm and one final. No quiz. He has amazing humor every day through his lecture are kind of fast. His curves are amazing and definitely recommend him for calculus for easy grade. He usually gives practices test If I ever had a chance I would take him again.

I remember I was signed up for a Calc 2 class before the fall semester started. I am a first year, so I didn't get to pick a professor, until some spots opened up in his class, I jumped at the opportunity. Goldston is HILARIOUS and awesome at what he does and I am so glad I was able to be in 31 with him! Take him if you can! You won't regret it

Daniel Goldston is an awesome guy and an amazing math teacher, his knowledge on all range of subjects in mathematics spans far and wide in his field. He is incredibly funny and in general, he is a wonderful teacher, his tests are straightforward and fair.

One of the best teachers out there for any math, super cool guy and super lenient about extensions on homework/etc. Lets you choose what you want on your test...I need not say more
