his down to earth witt makes up for the crappiness of the course. the exams are really hard, but some of questions make you laugh. Word of advice though--next year spare your class the story of you and your daughter's gastrointestinal virus--i meangross

Nice prof, has good examples and keeps the class interesting (has a new joke for every class). Plus funny exam questions, one time he even uses the "f" word on the exam, that was a first. But you do learn from him, he's not all fun and games.

Extremely funny guy. I laughed at his exam questions. You can totally tell he was a badass in University. The course can be challenging. Don't listen when he says not to read the textbook 'cause you can do well without. BIG FAT LIE.

While the class started off a little shaky, Prof. Meegan got better as time went on, and turned into a pretty good teacher. However, he stuck to the text waaaaaay too much and it was kinda pointless to go to class.

Really fun course. His stories were hilarious, especially if they involved swearing. I didn't buy the textbook (he told us not to) and the course was SO easy! Just read his notes and you'll do fine.

Great professor. Funny, and interesting.

Good prof, very personable and down to earth, not wildly funny but shares his funny experiences once in a while to lighten things up. Overall he can be on your level a bit more for the upper year courses. Assignments are often open-ended, non-APA papers which stress opinions and critical thinking.

GREAT prof but most boring course I have ever taken in my life. Class is boring and textbook was even worse. Couldnt even read the textbook for exam because I kept falling asleep coz the text was so dry. The course was BORING!!!

He is totally rock and roll. He's very smart but I think he gets bored teaching and rather be doing his own thing. It's alright though, because you can see how smart he really is.

love him...only class i actually pay attention in. whoever put that he posts the readings right before the exam is an idiot, his exams are almost completley lecture based so if you pay attention in class you shouldnt even have to read the text book. oh and hes definatley HOT.

What a great prof! He is a young, enthusiastic, engaging, funny guy who makes the lectures entertaining. I now have a passion for cognitive psychology. There is not much work in the class either. 3 exams, and they are all non-cumulative too!

I love this man! If he was the only prof teaching 1100/1200, there would be a lot more psyc students at Guelph. Very smart, enthusiastic, engaging, and funny. And hot, naturally. And I don't know why people dont like his stories, they're hillarious! One of the best profs I've had. Go Meegan!

Ohh no not the 4 letter word! please... who cares? if meegan wasn't making his exams interesting, you would be complaining for that reason. Meegan rocks! The examples on the exams are hilarious, making the exam fun to write. His lectures are very interesting, clear and complete. I am not even a psyc major/minor and this was my favourite course.

Awesome class and a great prof! About the only class that I remember information because he makes it interesting. I love his exams...cant wait to find out what Jim Bob and Billy Bob are up to next...haha

Meegan rocks! I did not do well in his cognitive class, but I loved this class. He is an awesome professor, and I honestly enjoyed going to class. I am not normally this enthusiastic about a professor, but I have to say he is a very fair, intelligent, and funny professor.

Dan Meegan was an extremely good professor, explaining things not only in interactive and educational ways, but with personal examples and fun stories to really help put concepts into a more easily understandable perspective. READ TEXT ASWELL AS ATTEND CLASS FOR BEST COMREHENSION The exams were fair. Study concepts rather than definitions. =]

AMAZING PROF, Loved every lecture

In all honesty, I spend more time looking at him than I do paying attention in class. Talk about a distraction!

Although it's not required to go to class to get a good mark, I honestly have no idea what woman, in their right mind, wouldn't want to.

He's a really cool guy. I recommend attending the lectures because they're short and is important for the midterm/exam. But the textbook is really important. Mostly focus on bold words and understanding the concepts and you'll be fine. Oh! Lastly, try to take advantage of SLGs, they're really helpful!

Cognitive psych great course I found it interesting but not everyone did. Lectures are pretty interesting. However, its basically all textbook material on the test, midterms are so easy if you do the readings and study a little bit the night before

Great prof who understands how to teach an introductory psych course. He makes it easy to get a good grade and makes the lectures interesting and meaningful.

Good professor and a BEAUTIFUL man! I went into psychology thinking I would hate it but I was wrong. He makes the lectures interesting. Unfortunately he doesn't teach much info directly from the text book so studying for midterms and exams requires a lot of reading!

He is easy to listen too in lectures, but the material is not relevant to what you're tested on. His midterm and exam was completely random, he will take a tiny trivial fact and throw it in. Anybody who says his test are easy got really lucky by studying the right random stuff.

Awesome prof! intesting lectures that were applicable to every-day-life. both lectures and the textbook were used equally, so if you want a good mark i suggest using both. what a university class should be like!

Difficult to get a GREAT mark in his classes, but if you actually study you shouldn't get a bad mark in it either. A bit workload heavy, since you need to read the text AND memorize lectures... But great prof, and he does give marks back in re-grades if he really sees that you did know the material.

Favourite professor ever! His lectures are very interesting, he's a great speaker, and seems like generally such a good guy.Just keep up with the readings, and know you're stuff. But yeah, the lectures are great, and he's funny. Oh, and ladies...he's so hot!

Best prof I have ever had. Exams are tricky, but he tells you ahead of time exactly what to expect. He made me actually want to go to class!

I loved this Prof! He's so interesting and he makes the course doable. He made me interested in taking more psych classes as electives later in undergrad :)

I found the lecture was repeating the book but he talks you through some of the trickier parts so you go from pretty much getting it to really understanding it. He's really funny and tries to keep the class light.

Professor Meegan is excellent. Because my class was a three hour night class it could get a little boring at times, but he always tried to keep it interesting. You should get good grades if you study hard using the detailed study guides he provides for midterms/ finals.

Charismatic professor. He always kept it interesting and integrated relevant documentaries to his lectures. Exam was quite fair in my opinion. You definitely have to read the textbook thoroughly, as a good chunk of the exam is from the text.

Meegan was a great professor going into first year. The lectures were really long, but his humour made the time pass quickly while still staying on topic and making the material clear. The videos he uses for class are relevant and interesting. He is a pretty easy going guy and I would gladly take another class with him.

Great prof. Explains things in a way everyone can understand and gives good examples. Weekly quizzes keep you on track and aren't too bad as long as you can google and find things in the textbook quickly. No long essays to write!!!!! Exams are fairly easy. He's a really cool guy and wants to help you, loved having him as a prof.

Meegan is a funny, engaging professor who is really clear about what he wants from you. We were marked on weekly online multiple choice quizzes, a multiple choice midterm, research participation, and a multiple choice exam. The quizzes aren't hard as long as you did the reading and he is very clear about what he expects on the exam. Fun class!

He also gave us a midterm and exam review that pretty much told us exactly what each question would be based on... Super helpful and definitely wants to see his students succeed. Recommend for sure!

Meegan is a great prof that really cares about his students success. his lectures are stimulating and entertaining, he can even make the boring topics interesting. I will definitely be looking to be in more of his classes in future years.

The midterm and final are mainly based on textbook material. He gives a very detailed exam study guide that says which textbook chapter or lecture each question will come from. He's funny but the lectures themselves can seem a little dull since they're similar to the textbook readings.

Dan is a really great guy who, despite being american (jkjk), manages to make himself feel really one with the students, campus, and school. What I mean by this is that he makes himself available to the students, and his lectures are always stimulating and memorable. They are based off of the textbook readings, BUT going to chis class is important.

Really funny, interesting professor! Lectures were always entertaining and he adds videos and activities to break things up. Easy to do well; there are weekly quizzes based off the readings, a MC midterm, and a MC final exam. He made question by question study guides for them! Definitely a prof to take again.

Gives super fun lectures! He doesn't just reiterate textbook material, he chooses topics he finds interesting and gives us examples. Workload isn't too bad, weekly quizzes and textbook reading. Glad I was in this class!

Dan is an absolutely amazing professor. His lectures are engaging and doesn't just reiterate lecture material. His midterm and exams are fair and he gives a detailed breakdown of each. If you read the textbook, do the weekly quizzes, and listen in class you are guaranteed an A. I'd take this class again if I could :)

Dan is the best prof ever. He is so funny and makes all the lectures interesting. He connects with the students and always trys his best to help us out and make things fair. I would highly recommend having Dan as a prof if you can.

I really enjoyed this class. The only real criticism I have is that its very reliant on the textbook and less on what he teaches, but thats pretty common for a first year class. He gives detailed exam/midterm reviews that help immensely while studying. I probably attend 60% of lectures and finished with an 80%.

dan is the best prof you will ever have!! he is extremely understanding and caring towards all students and makes sure all quizzes, midterms and finals are fair. his lectures are always interesting and he is hilarious making you want to attend every lecture. his midterm and final exam review was extremely helpful. the best prof ive ever had!!

Really chill prof. Yes, you have to do readings every week, and your participation in group discussions in class matters, but we're in fourth year. He provides every reading & doesn't make you pay for any textbook, and the readings are always interesting (sometimes podcasts too). Hilarious guy, and clearly cares about his students.

great prof I honestly loved him, 8;30s Monday morning was rough when attendance was mandatory but as long as u stay on top of the readings and work it was not a difficult class. but it is expected for a fourth year psyc course that is mandatory. didn't give lectures it was more discussion based which I rlly liked. such a nice guy

Daddy Dan is the best!!!!

Take your capstone course with him - took it with another professor and had to drop because it was awful, so i was originally apprehensive about this class, but he's genuinely a great professor. Very easy-going guy and very understanding.

Dan is one of the best professors ive had. He's a great professor overall, he's so helpful and the way his classes are structured make them super enjoyable. he assigns readings that are engaging aswell as projects that are interesting. My class with him was a full credit, we had an issue paper, group projects and weekly readings.
