This class was my favorite class when I took it. I learned to love science because of the enthusiasm Bro Moore brought to the material. As long as you pay attention and do the homework he assigns this class goes well. Bro Moore answers all questions and is always available to give extra help if needed. Do your part and he'll help as much as he can

He is a really great teacher and enthusiastic about what he teaches. He makes sure you understand. If you are having trouble staying awake, that could be the time of day you are taking the class, or you just aren't paying attention. To stay alert and awake, I would suggest actually listening and taking notes. Great class and teacher. :)

Doctor Moore is a great teacher. His lectures are easy to follow and understand. The schedule is tricky to understand at times, but as long as you follow it you're good. There is weekly group work, but it is often just to meet and study. 3 exams. Just pay attention and you'll do great.

I took this class as a senior for reasons i will not go into. But i found the reason people don't do well in the class is because they don't listen and don't do the work. So they then blame the teacher for their own stupidity. Bro. Moore speaks very clearly, and is good at dumbing down the complex material. And he cares that you understand.

He's very merciful and if he sees that your willing to work hard he'll work with you to get an A. He requires a lot less than other teachers. I would take it from him again.

There is a lot of coursework(reading, quizzes, short essays), but its all pretty straight forward. I loved the class and him as a teacher.

I think that the online tests are a bit hard to understand sometimes. I am working hard in the class and still sometimes struggle with them, in the future being able to go over answers would be good. However, he is very clear and engaging to listen to in class. I have enjoyed his class and you can see that he loves what he does and his students.

Professor Moore is a good teacher and loves what he teaches. The homework load is not that bad, its an easy study assignment before each class and an essay(only 1-2 pages) about every 2 weeks. His tests can be a little brutal, but if you do the homework and pay attention in class you will do fine.

His tests are pretty tough, and there is a lot of reading, but if you stay on top of the work the class is worth taking. There are sometimes attendance quizzes.

There is a daily reading to do before class that you will be tested on every morning. He is really caring and tries to make sure that every person understands the topic. He knows almost everything that you could ask him and is really good at explaining it in whatever way you will be able to learn it best.

These aren't boring lectures though- He creates his own visuals using body language, helping me to understand at my level, and remember the info. When he answers questions, he's thorough and not afraid to dive in. He knows his stuff!

The homework assignments are your chance to learn more about the subject and the tests are multiple choice based on what is taught in class. If getting an A is all you care about than this class is easy, but I much more appreciated his thought provoking questions

I actually enjoyed going to class because he taught really well and I was interested in space and we learned about space for the first half of the semester. He is super nice and I would love to have another class with him.

Professor Dan Moore loves what he does and shares his passion with his students. His lectures are always interesting and his power points are visual. The homework he gives are readings done before the class period. Before the lecture starts, he gives a three question quiz, fairly easy, to count your attendance and your preparation.

I was able to learn a lot, not only through the lecture itself, but the responses he gave to his students when they would ask questions. Doctor Moore is a great teacher, he made what was boring before actually pretty interesting. A couple of times he blew our minds with cool facts about the universe. You have to write a paper every couple weeks, but it's not bad. I enjoyed the class.

The only thing I didn't like is that for the tests he doesn't give you a study guide. Your study guide is the prep questions you have before each class but then none of that was really on the test itself. You have enrichment activities (papers to write) but they are really simple and an easy A. Iclicker quiz every class gives you attendance points.

He helps you gain a greater testimony through science which is amazing! The best way to prepare for the tests are read the assignments and answer the questions provided! Bro. Moore is smart! The most important thing is to go to class. He gives a lecture the whole time but also involves the class in discussion, and has cool object lessons. If you miss class your grade will suffer. The test questions are based off what you hear in class so take good notes if you want to review because there are no reviews for tests.

Brother Moore knows a lot about astronomy and geology, but he cares more about being an avid learner. He believes in lifelong learning, so most of his assignments are an attempt to get you interested in the material covered in class. Be careful though, because he shuts off the lights quite a bit in class and it gets really easy to doze off.

Dr. Moore is probably one of the most educated science professors at BYU-I. He 100% knows what he is talking about and if you aren't on your phone or laptop the entire time during class, you can really learn a lot. Dr. Moore is also amazing at opening up your eyes to new ideas and perspectives. One of the best in the science department!

Doctor Moore was a really inspiring teacher. I have never had much of a desire to learn about science, but he taught in an interesting way, while still being respectful of the gospel. His tests are a pretty difficult, but he gives the study guide questions in the daily reading. You need to come in to his class with an open mind.

Very willing to take and answer questions and concerns of all sorts. very excited about what he teaches and knowledgeable about field as a whole. 4 tests (no final) and 8 small essays make up the majority of the grade. Essays are a pain but not too difficult, tests have a few tricky questions but nothing too mind-boggling.

Brother Moore is a genuinely gifted teacher whose excitement for the subject matter was contagious all semester long. I loved every class and only regret that it couldn't have lasted longer. Danger Dan Moore is a real whiz on geology and chemistry and the gospel. I recommend him. Go to class, that's expected for a good grade. Put in the work and you'll do fine because he cares more about learning than what grade you have. Been known to sprinkle magic dust on your grade at the end of the semester if youre a good student.

Doc Moore was one of the best professors I could have had my first semester. He opened our Science 101 class by addressing an issue many students struggle with: the compensation of science and religion, and how they fit together. I didn't think they did until I took his class. His lectures are clever, mind-blowing, and homework is very simple.

This guy really knows what he's talking about so if you show up and listen you will learn. Get ready to write. there are 800 word essays due almost every weekend. Don't worry to much though as long as you pass the 800 word mark and semi talk about what you are required to you will be fine.

He is an amazing teacher, and his lectures are fantastic and thought provoking. But, if you don't go to class, or do the quizzes, you will struggle on the essays and the tests. He does put the powerpoints online, but the test are a lot about what we discuss in class and aren't really on the notes. No question is a bad question.

I loved GESCI101 from Dr. Moore. He developed the course so he knows the content extremely well. Very engaging class. I was excited to go almost every day of class. He spends a lot of time answering questions. He is very articulate, so make sure to ask Qs because he'll answer them well. Very friendly and enjoys getting to know his students. 10/10

I love this teacher. He is super nice and caring about the success of his students. He's also way enthusiastic, it was pretty adorable. The class, however, is not easy. You definitely have to work for your grade, but that's normal for college. The study guides he gives, also have exactly what's going to be on the test, which was helpful.

DAN MOORE KNOWS HIS MATERIAL VERY WELL, I ADIVZE SITTING IN FRONT ROW AND ENGAGE WITH HIM, ASKING LOTS OF QUESTIONS EVERY DAY, AND TAKE NOTES, HE GIVES AMAZING LECTURES. THIS WAS A VERY ENGAGING, FUN-FILLED CLASS. I WILL MISS HIM AND SEEING THE WORLD THROUGH HIS GLASSES.

This class is a class that sets you up for success as a geologist. Dr. Moore gives a lot but requires the same effort in return. You need to do your best to come to class! It's incredibly important because so much is covered each week! He is a great teacher and a great mentor and wants every student to succeed! It's hard to fail this class.

He is a great teacher and I enjoy his classes and is amazing at giving lectures, he knows his materiel. The tests are fairly hard but if you do good on the pre class quizzes and pay attention you'll fine.

Bro. Moore was a good professor if you like lectures. He teaches the class with an open mind and I enjoyed learning from him. I would not say he is not bad or great but more average. Overall the content of the class was good if you stay on top of the readings.

Dr. Moore is AWESOME! I loved 351. Dr. Moore is the type of professor that will stop class to make sure that you understand a concept. He wants you to succeed. This class is really hard, but totally worth it. Get ready to put in the work. Dr. Moore is hilarious, brilliant, and extremely kind. I would take this class again just for fun. He rocks!
