pretty easy class. go to class everyday and take notes and study from them and you should have an easy A or B. perfect for getting that science part of graduation out of the way and also good for the biology lab course.

He is the best Biology teacher ever! Science and me do not get along, but I passed his class with flying colors. If you take notes and listen in class, come time for the test, all you have to do is ACTUALLY study the NOTES and you will do great. He is an awesome guy with a great personality and cares about his students! Wonderful, wonderful!

I took this class because I needed to fulfill my Bio req... and he understands that, in fact, he flat out says "I know most of you are here because you have to be." He's a cool teacher, the tests and quizzes are not hard if you just pay attention and review the notes. I barely even did that and got a solid B in the class.

I really can't imagine anyother teacher making this class any easier. He provides you with outlines for the information you need for the tests and study guides. I got a solid B without much effort. Recommended instructor.

Nigro is an amazing instructor. His teaching methods are great and he has a way of explaining biology in a context for everyone to understand.

He is such an organized teacher. He hands out an outline of the notes you will take in the semester, so you just fill them out. He is very friendly and has his little jokes. The test questions are right out of the notes.

I took this bio class as a general ed class and he made it great for me. I learned so much from his class because he is very clear and knowledgable. I really learned to love science from his class, tests are not too hard aand niether are the quizes. If you study the notes and answer the q's from his reviews youll do great. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

cool, funny, helpful teacher. i bought the book but didn't use it. i just studied my notes. 10 question on quiz-very easy. 50 quest test and 3-4 short answer quest. there's a 2 page report due-also easy. overall fairly easey class and he explains thing very well- i actually found some of the topics intresting

Excellent professor! Gives great lecture notes and his tests/quizes have no surprises as long as you go to class and get all the hand-outs and lecture notes. The textbook's CD is also very, very helpful!

He is an exellent teacher. If you study and take good notes you will do great in his class. Any questions that you have he will answer with total clarity. One of my favorite teachers at LBCC. He is very proffesional and encourages his students to do well at all times.

GREAT TEACHER! It's not an EASY class, but he breaks it down well. He is very friendly and is always willing to help. Go to class everyday, take good notes, do the practice questions, keep up with reading and you'll be okay. It takes a lot of studying but there's usually no suprise questions on the tests, everythings straighforward.

An amazing professor. He's clear on what he expects and is always willing to help students. The tests require a lot of studying to get a decent grade but he does offer a good amount of extra credit. There are also a few field trips which are pretty enjoyable. Overall a fun and awesome class.

i took his marine bio class (bio 20) and i LOVED it. hes a great teacher and very interesting. he keeps class fun and the field trips are very interesting. this class serioussly made me think about changing my major! it was amazing i highly recommend taking this class.

I LOVED THIS CLASS! Professor Nigro was amazing! He has a few assignments but they're not too difficult at all! You also have an insect collection to do but it's so much fun! He's alwyas willing to help and he's so funny!

Mr. Nigro is a great teacher. He excepts a lot and so you do have to work to succeed. But he tells you exactly what you need to know for your exams. There are four exams, three fieldtrips and one paper. The class is interesting but I'd recommend his Bio 30 class over this one.

Nigro was great! the class started a lot harder than it turned out to be. it's time consuming, but he's very straight forward and offers a ton of extra credit. if you have to take biology, take him.

Mr. N is such an amazing teacher! It's definitely a challenging class, but he's extremely helpful and did everything he could to help me. Professor Nigro covers A LOT of material, but he does everything he can to make sure you know it. He has a good sense of humor, which helps because the material can be dry at times. The tests can be pretty daunting if you don't pay attention in class and study. Just keep up, do the projects, and you'll be fine.

Took spring12 and got a B all bad comments are from lazy ppl. Alot of info to learn and cannot get by w/o studying but its worth it. Great professor very organized and won’t have anything unexpected. Insect collection due I hated bugs but now I am always looking around trying to identify them. If you like nature and animals you’ll love this class

Bio 30 is a difficult class, not an easy A and a lot of material on exams but he explains things so well plus his notes area amazing. Anyone complaining that it is too hard just was not trying. I really liked him......as a teacher of course haha there is just something about a rugged man that enjoys animals and nature.

This class was amazing and provided the inspirtion for my minor. I loved studying for this class, and I never study. If you put in the time and have an environmental interest, you'll love this class. He is super informative and easy to listen to. I still remember the majority of what he taught and it's been several years since the class.

The lab is super easy if you do the correct work in the lab and study off of the lab sheets. He's a cool teacher too.

Professor Nigro has been the most amazing professor I've had yet. This class was incredible! The labs were fun, everything we covered was interesting and the notes required for the class covered absolutely everything you needed for the exams. This class and professor Nigro inspired me to go back to my original major.

Great teacher, helped me get over my fear of insects. If you have even a tiny interest in wildlife you will enjoy this class. Gives you all the notes which are very detailed. Looks at exam results and removes questions if he finds them unclear/ unfair. Good sense of humor. Field trips are fun and interesting.

I really enjoyed having him as a professor. He is very nice and really flexible. He's willing to work with any class related issue you are having. Everything you need to pass is either in the class notes or in the labs. Reading is also helpful. There are field trips but they are local and will only cost a few bucks. It's an easy class if you study.

GREAT teacher and great class! If you are dreading human bio then take this b/c it's fun and interesting. Lab is attached to class to make schedule easy. It is a lot of work but everything you need to know is in the special textbook-no surprises. Lots of extra credit options too. Highly recommend this class!

took his marine biology class! was a seemingly intimidating workload until the first test but stick with it and the material gets easier and funner as course moves forward. learned a lot and got really into the subject. went from being my hardest class to my favorite last semester.

so nerdy. the field trips were cool. he loved my insect collection. TONS OF MATTERIAL TO MEMORIZE! he gives a lot of extra credit, which got me from a c to a b. the tests are on the difficult side, but I like the style of both scantron and a practicum.

Professor Nigro has an extensive knowledge of Marine Bio. He has a pleasant attitude and his enthusiasm for the subject is adorable! He is a fair grader and his tests are not as challenging. In order to do well, you do have to dedicated a lot time to study. Other than that, just attend class, pay attention and read. Take notes!!

Professor Nigro knows what he is talking about! Wilderness bio was very interesting. Although the subject has nothing to do with my major (took it for lab credit), I really enjoyed it. He knows that most everyone is taking it for lab credit so he teaches his class to where anyone can understand. Have to study the terms to pass exams. Fun fieldtrips

Hes great ! I was actually sad when the semester ended. Even if u are not a Bio major, he'll make you fall in love with animals and science. Really have to study for the exams, and the map if you take wildlife !!!Study exactly what he covers in class, and try to get the most out of the labs. LOVE his wildlife bio class! I got an A in the class and all you have to do is study, study and study. I did so many flashcards but it was not boring and did not drag to do the extra work. I'm a bio major so I most likely found it more interesting than most but the whole class loved him and he was definitely the most genuine teacher I've had.

I really enjoyed his class even though its not an easy passing class, you have to work for a good grade. His test are not that hard if you spend some time studying. His test consist of walking around the room naming pictures of animals or body parts & a regular paper test. Also you have to memorize a world map but to me it wasn't a problem.

I don't like Bio. I'm a great student, but this has always been my tough subject. Dan offers an inspirational Wildlife Bio class. and is remarkably passionate about his subject. I certainly learned a lot in his class, which inspired me to spend more time outdoors. This was a fantastic offering, which I recommend to everyone.

Took this class Spring 2016, and it was my favorite class last semester! I took his Wildlife Bio class, it can get hard if you don't pay attention. However, stay focused, ask question, and STUDY and you will be just fine. He is an excellent professor and really cares about his students! I would recommend this class to anyone!

Professor Nigro is the best. There's so much he can teach you about biology that makes everything so much more interesting. He's very good at keeping his lectures enjoyable and keeps you focused. I absolutely love Professor Nigro! He is one of the best, most inspirational professors I've ever had. The class is easy, although there is a lot of memorization, it's still a very simple, fun class. Professor Nigro made me want to change my major to wildlife biology. He was extremely passionate about it and he was also funny. He is very helpful when someone needs it. His grading is mostly based on exams and practicums. But there is also a big insect collecting project that was worth a lot and 2 field trips. I would most definitely take again!

Marine Bio is already interesting but Dan Nigro makes it even MORE fascinating - if that makes sense. He's super passionate, cares about your grade, and gives out a ton of points for extra credit. He's a real gem.

Dan, is very passionate about Marine bio which captures your attention during lecture. Lab part of his exams are challenging b/c a lot of details & memorization is needed. However, extra credit is offered. Chapter 7(exam 2) was the hardest! I would recommend him, but youll have to work hard for your grade. BEWARE OWN RIDE NEEDED FOR FIELD-TRIPS

Really great professor, loves his job and it shows. Class is extremely straightforward. The class has a lot of information so the tests are usually around 150-170 questions, but it's mostly just straight memorization, nothing really hard to study for. If you're good at taking tests, you can do minimal work on projects/field trip and easily pass.

This class was honestly not that bad. Lectures aren't too boring. Lab time is easy and quick. Rarely gives homework. Good amount of assignments throughout the semester. Tests and quizzes are tough just make sure to study. 4-5 field trips, most on Saturdays. Makes you work for your grade, but does give a lot of extra credit to help!!

This professor is very respectful, takes the time to answer all your questions, knows a lot about the subject, and really seems to enjoy teaching. It is a lot of information in a small amount of time, but he knows his stuff, so ask many questions. The practicals are tough and really make you think so study.

Prof. Nigro has a good sense of humor, is very engaged/passionate about marine biology and encourages students to join his marine biology club (which is also very fun). Easy assignments, study his lectures/study guides. I would definitely take him again, I have learned soo much as he was very organized & lifting through this draining Covid-19 year!

Professor Nigro is amazing. I took Wildlife Bio online and he made the class super fun. His lectures are super interesting and he has a great sense of humor. He also responds to emails incredibly quickly. The one downside to this class is I do not think he gave enough time for tests and quizzes. For a 10 question quiz we had 10 minutes to complete.

Loved this class! Professor Nigro made wildlife biology more interesting to me personally and the lecture slides and the material were easy to understand. Quizzes and tests are timed in a specific way to make up for the fact that everything is online, but as long as you study and take notes it's not too difficult. Would take it again!

One of the BEST professors Ive experienced through LBCC. 10/10 would recommend taking this course with this specific professor. Not only clear with instructions and expectations throughout the course but will take the time to go over tests and quizzes one on one.

Take Professor Nigro. This class is a breeze and the professor offers help and always responds to emails. He lectures from slides that are also posted online. He is one of the best professors i've had. As someone who wants to go into the field of marine biology, it was nice to have an invested teacher who helped me learn more about it. Not much homework, labs are not difficult, lectures are really interesting, and there are field trips you have to go to. He explained everything clearly and was caring.

really cool professor. explains things in detail and answers questions. labs were mostly group work and were interesting. his exams were very difficult. 150 questions, 75 of them are basically identifications of organisms and locations that you have to memorize, other 75 q's are standard exam form. 3 field trips and extra credit help ur grade a lot

This professor was amazing. The class work was easy. Let's you leave early if you complete the work. Lectures weren't very long. Only Two "field trips," both about Thirty minutes away from campus. No homework. There are four lab practicums and four lecture exams, with approximately 75 questions, easy if you pay attention to lecture and study notes.

Loved taking this class and learning so much about wildlife , lectures were always so interesting only thing to know is to study before every quiz and exam and you be good !!

I just finished Marine Bio with Professor Nigro. The class was very fun and interesting and Professor Nigro is very kind and completely setse you up for success. The tests and quizzes are mildly challenging, but as long as you study, they shouldn't be an issue. You go on field trips and participate in fun lab activities.

I really enjoyed this class and he made me really love marine biology! His exams have 2 parts, 75 questions so 75 points each. He'll let you know which information to focus on b4 the exam. We also had 2 field trips that were very fun. Aside from the exams, the classwork was super simple and easy and he offered extra credit. I recommend him!

Professor Nigel is amazing! He is so passionate about the subject. Study for his tests, do the assignments, and attend class because he has in class labs that are worth points. Do these things and you should pass easily! I would 100% recommend taking this class. This class made me fall in love with marine bio.

Professor Nigro's marine biology class is super fun and engaging. Attend class, study the textbook, and take advantage of the extra credit to easily pass. The exams are challenging but manageable with Unstuck ai and study sessions.

Professor Nigro was one of the best professors I have ever had. The exams were a lot of memorization but as long as you were comfortable with the study questions you will be good. The quizzes were not too bad they were doable as long as you did the questions at the end of the lectures. Please take any of the classes he offers, he is the best!

I truly loved this professor, and his class taught me the most I have probably ever learned in a class. I will say you need to study a lot for the exams, but everything on the exams is provided by the professor before the exams. The field trips are fun and get you to do things that you wouldn't normally do in class.

Professor Nigro is passionate about his craft. I took his Marine Biology class, and as difficult as it was, I had a lot of fun. He has an intimate amount of knowledge in whatever it is that he teaches, and he makes sure that every student is entertained and motivated to learn; you will have many positive takeaways at the end of the semester.

If you want an easy A, this class is not for you. This was a real time-consuming, high-effort class, but it was great! I used to dislike science classes until I had this professor. Because of his class, now I like science! There are 4 exams, each 100 questions. They require A LOT of memorization and studying. You also have to buy his packet, $28.

D. Nigro is an amazing teacher who really supports his students. The class will require you to be present and to study the material, but if wildlife is something you really want to learn about then I would definitely recommend this class!
