I love Paxtons class most of the time .... the tests are kinda ify though

Mr. Paxton was a very interesting professor who is very knowledgeable in the area of Psychology. I enjoyed the way that he interacted so well with students during our class time.

He was very friendly. He gave us plenty of real world examples. I learned a lot about myself in his class, because he does a lot of personality tests. I really enjoyed his class and hope to have him again in the future.

I came into this class expecting a pretty boring class with the typical monotone lectures, but it really turned out anything but that. I really enjoyed the class and Mr. Paxton uses many real world examples and is one of a few teachers that I actually enjoyed listening too.

Paxton's cool - too many personality tests though. They got really boring and stupid after the 50th one. Hardly spent that much time teaching the material. I guess you were supposed to learn the material through the personality tests. Yawn.

I enjoyed the integration of studying one's self with the social and psychological aspects of scientific study. It made learning the material easier to understand where I might fit as an individual.

Very interesting class and instructor made it a lot more fun. If you can take his class I recommend him.

Mr. Paxton is a great teacher!! I had to take this class since it was required for my major and did not look forward to it, but it ended up being a fun class. Mr. Paxton told us lots of stories that related to the topics we were covering. I would highly reccomend taking him if you have the chance.

He was a great teacher! Very helpful and understanding. I really did learn a lot. I had low expectations from the start because I'm not a psychology person.

I thought he was a good teacher. He came in the middle of the semester and at first I was a little worried about having him as a teacher, but he was very thorough with what he taught and his study guides were very helpful.

Mr. Paxton is an absolutely fabulous teacher. I enjoyed taking his class, and as a result he gave me an 'A'....or I 'earned an 'A', whatever. Anyways, Mr. Paxton, you rock!

I enjoyed his class and I thought that as long as you studied and paid attention you did well in the course. I highly recommend him if you can read the chapters and still understand things.

what was dissappointing was that he spent too much time having us take various 'self test', and not enough time clarifing the material.

I thought that he did an excellent job, and i hope that i am able to get him for other classes. The only down side to his class is that you have to be willing to do the study guides and read the book.

I thought that although Mr. Paxton seemed to know what he was talking about, there wasn't any fun to the class at all. We sat there while he read the slide he put on the overhead. There wasn't any class activities related to the subject and the class was just dull, with no enthusiasm from the teacher at all.

Job well done Professor Paxton!! You did a great job considering you intercepted our class partway into the semester. I learned much more from you in one class than I did from the previous professor after several classes with her. Have a great holiday!!

Should emphasize lectures instead of class demonstrations. Professor Paxton provides the class with a group of questions for each test which are similar to the test questions. This serves as a study guide for the class. The instructor is very helpful in replying to any questions asked regarding the study guide. He replies quickly to his inquiries.

He did try and keep the subject as interesting as possible. Jokes were lame, but he did try to keep us interested.

Encouraged class participation. Very helpful to those who needed. Helped make the subject very interesting. Handed out study guides that were very helpful for tests. Did activities that directly related to the subjects. Very easy class as long as you showed up.

The class was very interesting, and the subject matter was well taught. The exams were definitely the kind you need to study for, but other than that, it was great.

He was my first college professor, and i was nervous at first, but after having the class there was nothing to worry about. He is very leniant and flexible. The class was interesting yet very basic.

The class was fun and he is very helpful by giving you all the right tools to get As on the papers if you use them correctly, come to class, and pay attention in class.

This was agreat class. Dan was completely willing to meet outside of class, before or after to help student's understand the material. He could be a little **** at times though, which I found frustrating. Overall though, it was an enjoyable course because he made it fun to be there. I'd take his class again in a heartbeat.

He did very well considering he was thrown into the class when our other instructor became ill.

I have never had a professor that was able to hold my attention like he did. The class was interesting by iteself, but he made it different by applying it to my everyday life. A lot of teachers will tell you to read the book, and come in and take a test. This class was what I would consider to be ideal for academia.

Dan was a great teacher. He had a very organized class and gave us easy assignments to help boost our grades. He was very fair on his tests and even gave us a study guide to help prepare. I would not hesitate to take another class with him.

he was a very nice guy he was able to keep my attention but there were some days that it was a very boring class and all i wanted to do was leave.but over all he was a good professor and was helpful in somi will say he will be able to keep your attention.

An easy professor and an easy class. You still need to study, but this is a good class to take early in college.

Great teacher, funny, helpful, only problem, don't take it at the end of the day, it gets much too boring. all in all though, great class.

the class was boring at the end of the day, but paxton was very funny and knew the material well. he was a very helpful professor...if you had questions he would help you out. for the tests..make sure you study the study guide and read the book and you will get an A. overall very good teacher

He is a great teacher...his methods are not those of a standard classroom, but you will come to understand the material better and more personally. Test study guides are provided and using them will insure your good grade. Very fair testing and grading. His choice of texts was also AWESOME!

I really enjoyed being in Dans classed. I leanred a lot more then I thought I would. It has even made me think of taking some classes that I don't need to take in the future. I would really enjoy it if I could have Dan as a professoragain. He's a really great guy who takes the time to expail things that you don't understand. Thanks for the help.

I loved his class! I didn't think I would do so well, but I managed to get an A. I loved his quirky humor although I don't think a lot of the other students quite 'got it.' I am definitely going to sign up for another one of his classes!

Super nice guy and witty as can be. provides you with study guides that go along with the tests exactly. memorize the guides and pay attention in class and you'll be fine. his voice is really soothing though, so don't forgot to bring a cup of joe.

Take this class if you plan on attending, reading the book, doing your paper and completing all 4 study guides. Attendance is a must for extra credit points. Tests can be slightly difficult--as you have to apply what your learning and know the term. Prof is big on using the Angel system. Great Class and I was glad I took it with this prof.!

Really nice guy, interesting and keeps the class fun and entertaining, the class allows you to look at your self in a different way, super easy gives study guides that are nearly identical to tests, come to class for easy bonus points from time to time, large paper involved, otherwise all things good, highly recommended

Class was boring. Lecture was straight from the powerpoints and all of his tests were online so they were easy. Communication was good though!! Study guides and powerpoints were on Angel everytime. Easy but boring

Very good teacher, you get points for coming to class(do a summary at the end) and they add up. Reviews are similar to tests, so do the review and study bold terms! You'll get an easy A that way. A lil boring but that's to be expected. Dont copy the powerpoint, not worth writing! highly recommend!

Let's see: He's amazing, I'm taking him for the next two semesters as well (and PSYH isn't even my major), he makes the class extremely easy (only idiots could fail), he posts the reviews on Angel and he uses that site frequently to post material we covered in class!!!! I will continue to take his class and you should try one (or all)for sure!!!!

A GREAT teacher!Go to class and you get points for writing a 5 sentence summary at the end.Read the chapter before class so you understand what is going on, follow the powerpoint(I used to take notes on that and not worth the hand pains and unecessary).STUDY the review!!!!Review,read chapter and bold words and you will get an A-B easily!

Great instructor! This was one of my first college courses taken. Subjects were explained thoroughly. Instructor made class interesting and was clear in his expectations of you. I hope to take another class with him again.

One of the BEST profs I've ever had! Easy class, tests were all online and pretty easy, and a very nice guy! I never did any homework or read the book except while taking the online test and I still got an A. I wish I had taken him for Intro to Psych. Fantastic prof!

Great teacher, class gets boring because of the powerpoint being the entire focus of the class when not watching videos. Show up to class to get points everyday, and extra credit is offered quite a bit (first day of class even) and tests are VERY easy if you do his online study guides right before. Great for the kids that show up, and for the lazy

Awesome teacher. Tests were all online and you had a study guide ahead of time with pretty much the whole test on it. Fun and entertaining in class, though some lectures were dry. Very enjoyable class

He is by far one of the best teachers ever. He understands that some people have test taking anxiety so he makes all of his online. He trusts that you won't cheat and use your book, but honestly, if you do the study guide and pay attention you will do fine. He never throws in trick questions and I'll only take his psych classes now. I love him!!!!

Yes there is a quiz each week but if you are the type to find the answers fast in the book..well here is your class! I took several classes with this teacher and got an "A" every time. Very nice as well. I took online if that helps you! I would say take his classes if you can. Very easy if online.

Great professor, knows his stuff!! You do have quizzes every week and exams once a month. If you read the book and pay attention to PowerPoints you'll do just fine. He has fun in class, but can be serious as well. Don't bring phone to class! It's a good thing if you take this class seriously.

If you show up to class, pay attention, and take the quizzes and tests you will pass this class. This is a very straight foward instructor. Knows his stuff and is willing to help.

This instructor is the best for this class, I am saying that because I had people who told me and I am in this class as well. I would reccommend him to anyone because he makes learning easy and he is very intelligent. Take him!

Great Professor. Most of class is online but don't let that scare you away. Its easy to figure out and he helps you if you can't. He's very understanding and a cool entertaining guy. suggestion: read the book and you'll get an A.

Professor Paxton ties with Dr. Abraham for the best professors at LCCC. Wants to see you succeed, and makes it easy for you to do so. Took Human Growth and Development online, great experience! Multiple chances at each quiz and exam. Very helpful. Couldn't have asked for more!

Highly recommend! The layout of his class is so cut and dry and easy to follow! Very organized. Posts PowerPoints along with each chapter. Quiz due every Sunday, can take up to 3 times although the questions do change some are the same. If you read the chapter or power points you will do great! Discussion board once a week, easy points.

Probably the best online class I've ever taken. Every week you have two 20 point quizzes but you are given 3 attempts. There are 5 discussions during the length of this course which are worth alot of points but pretty easy. You also have 5 exams, worth 100 points that you get 2 attempts on. I highly recommend taking this course.

Dan, or John, Paxton (goes by either, so it got a little confusing during scheduling). Took Human Growth and Development. A good professor, but all you need is the book and your computer. You'll read the chapters, take tests on each chapter (3 chances each) then a module test every 4 chapters (2 chances each). Not an "easy" A, but not a hard one!

He was a good professor. He gave one to two quizzes a week along with a discussion post some weeks. He was very interactive in the discussion post. He gives extra credit start of the class. The exams are very straight forward. Many word problems.

Very good, he was very helpful and would respond fast to any message you send. Extra credit opportunities.

Prof, Paxtons class was rather easy to complete. All you need is a little bit of common sense, a computer, and your text book. 1 discussion post and 1 quiz per week. Exams were not difficult.

Online course. Was very simple, you do the discussions on time, you get a good grade. If you dont do the work it will be terrible, but if you just do youre work it will be very simple and minimal and carefree. Would take again, seems like a cool guy.

Expects effort and communication on discussion posts. Gives multiple quiz attempts and provides clear, organized sources. Expectations are clear- just participate. Be an adult about your work and you'll do fine. Course was on Canvas early, which made it easy to plan ahead. No complaints!
