Dr.Rivetti is the BEST ever!!!

Seriously, learned more about how to rock out with my****out in the real world from this guy than any other teacher at USD! Easily justified the 120K tuition tab that i paid!... and****!

I wish we could clone this guy. Had to be a standup comedian before getting into real estate. Looked forward to every class and always had a laugh

Dr. Rivetti was by far the best instructor I had at USD. I took three finance classes from him, learned a ton, and had a great time doing it. His exams give you outstanding practical knowlege that you can use in the real world. Taking a class from him is worth attending USD!

Great class if you want an easy A. Lectures are a waste of time and slightly offending if you come actually wanting to learn. He makes jokes most of the time. Read the book or power points on your own and just go to exams.

Probably one of the most dynamic professors at USD...he's all about Finance and knows the in's and out's of anything Finance related....easily the coolest professor I've had...and pay attention to his tangents and stories because those are by far the most valuable part of the class....xylitol

Great prof! I learned useful real-life financial info. Didn't make us memorize equations, tests were easy. He's entertaining and makes class fun. He's helpful in office hours.

Dr. Rivetti is the real deal. Every class is loaded with his vast experience. Those whose minds are too small to recognize the value of his experience will dismiss him. Their loss. You must teach yourself from the textbook, but he discloses this at the beginning. You will learn more about real business in this class than any other. Period.

If you are really serious about learning finance, you should choose this professor. His vast knowledge and experience makes the class interesting and learning about real world things allows you to step out of the hypothetical classroom scenario. A must take if you want to stand out.

A lot of people say you don't learn anything in class because you aren't learning out of a book. You learn in this class from Rivetti's stories and his experiences, not some boring lecture. The most interesting class I've taken here, so entertaining. You might feel like it's useless but you'll learn more than you think.

Don't be fooled by what seems like an unstructured course. He uses trending news, and if you pay attention you will gain quite a bit of incite. The case expectations are crystal clear, the final project is a bit of a bear as far are time consumption is concerned; make time for that busy wk at least 2 days... No final exam. Had a blast and learned.

Dr Rivetti is a well connected business person who believes in sharing experience gained through those connections with the class. Do not expect him to have a close looks at the assigned textbook. Usually he starts the class with recent news, opens slides, solves homework problems, then goes through slides with examples and loads of funny comments.

Don't brush off his lectures, there are pearls of wisdom there being spoon fed to you in a fun, covert way. His expectations are clear. You're either a "Winner" or your Not. Enjoy!

He is an awesome guy to listen to. You learn a lot about the world and business in general. That being said, he doesn't do much in terms of Finance and if you aren't a finance major going in you could be in for a lot of self-teaching.

This professor teaches through stories, personal, experiences, and current news. Very interesting class - my favorite in all 4 years!

In my quarter of a lifetime - I'd have to say Rivetti is hands down, one of the baddest, coolest, most hilarious souls i've ever met in my entire life. If you don't take a class with him, you will run into a USD Business Alum, and one of their first questions will be, -Did you ever have Rivetti??? - case closed.

PEARLS OF WISDOM! Rivetti is the man! He knows a lot about Finance and Real Estate and will teach you a lot about business in the real world. You won't learn much in terms of equations and text-book finance but he can help you with that if you want to. Take him, he is filled with knowledge and lenient with grades.

The class is an easy A/B with little effort. Rivetti is hilarious but class time is not spent on finance. You don't learn much and he never takes attendance. You can learn everything from the text and just come for the exams. He is a great guy.

If you don't take his class you should question your entire life. One of my fave professors at USD. His lectures are mostly off-topic, but he tells you exactly whats going to be on the midterm and final way before it is time. He curved our midterms like 20% so that everyone got an A or B. Don't screw this one up chief, take him.

Professor Rivetti is one of the most interesting and funny professors I have ever had. He has amazing life experiences and has had a lot of success in the finance world and he is so knowledgable on about everything. He goes off script for every lecture and you don't have any homework and just two group presentations and tests. Inspirational!

Show up for class, put in effort, you get an A. He tells wild stories. If you want to learn Finance take someone else. Great guy and super funny.

He does not care about teaching. if you want to get an easy A to take his class but I must warn you. I took him for Fina 300 and it crippled me going into my other finance classes. I didn't learn anything in his class and it showed. As long as you participate you will get a good grade. I failed all my test and got an A

My favorite finance teacher at usd. 2 tests an optional final (he helps walk you through parts of the tests as they are take home) and 2 case studies with group. Most people have their cameras off and not paying attention but I found this was my favorite class of the year. He is extremely smart and lectures are always interesting.

Strangest class I've ever taken, glad it was during my last semester. He is smart and has so much experience, but you don't learn much in the traditional sense . 90% of lectures are rants and stories about his life, which you should listen to as he has been through a lot. Not a traditional class, content is easy if you have taken finance before.

this man is crazy but i love him. he cares and wants you to enjoy life and do well in his class!! its true you won't learn much but if you are looking for a fun class your senior year its perfect for that

If you want to learn about advanced corporate finance, take someone else. If you want to have a good time in class and learn nothing but listen his life stories take him. Never has given below a C. No homework and only 2 exams and 2 presentations which are group projects.

Lectures about literally anything he thinks about that day but actually tells you real world advice in a super honest way/his own personal experience. Graded on 1 midterm, 2 reports, and a final that you go over in class so as long as you have a basic understanding of finance you can do well.

If you dont take Prof Rivetti while at USD and in finance you are missing out big time.

Honestly don't need to say much, this is the best teacher at USD and cares for his students the most out of everyone!! He does talk a lot about random life stories and advice, but that helps make the class interesting and engaging. One of the funniest teachers, Rivetti is the GOAT!!!!!!

Rivetti is awesome. His stories are full of experience and jokes. You do not learn anything in the class but it is an easy A. Exams are literally replicas of old ones. He tells you verbatum that the exam is exactly the same problem with different numbers so there is no messing it up.
