I love this guy! He is awsome. This class is pretty easy, two tests and a project. Do the extra credit, it brings your midterm up one point for every excersise you do.

I have actually taken classes I don't need because he is teaching them. I know that whatever he is talking about will be interesting. And everyone is right, he is totally HOT! in a geography dork kind of way.

I took 2 of his classes b/c he is just such a great teacher and person. He cut me major slack when I forgot to do my final project (I stayed up all night and turned it in a day late for a full grade) He helps you and wants u 2 do well

Super tearcher. He is very helpful and wants you to learn. Didn't really need the book, but it will help you understand if needed. He really makes the subject interesting. I recommend taking it even if you don't need the class just because he is way cool.

Come on Professor Walsh you have to stop writeing things about yourself, you make it too obvious that you have been putting comments up about yourself. Mr. Walsh is a good teacher and if you want to learn something about Geography he's the way to go. He's also a fair grader.

What can you say about a teacher who asks what he drives on the final? I enjoyed his class because he makes it interesting and fun to learn about geography because he compares it to orange county and places we know. Be careful and don't tell him you like the OC or Laguna Beach. He is not a fan!

I had a blast in this class! A great teacher who does what he can to make sure you are interested. On top of that, he's easy! Only 3 homework assignments and I aced both the midterm and final. I learned a lot, and use what I learned all the time. Pay attention and take notes and you will do fine.

Love Danny! Who doesn't? He's the raddest professor ever and I actually enjoyed science which is a shocker! Take his class!!! He's a great guy who really wants you to learn and enjoy it! He'll keep to entertained and if you go to class and work for it you'll do really well.

I think Dan is a wonderful professor. He is very clear and will help you if you ever need the help. I got a 'F' in the class because, I screwed up this semester and slacked off on the final paper which is a huge part of the final grade. I plan on taking Dan again. He's a fun for what he teaches.

Dan is the man, I had him for the class and then the lab. Dont take anyone else, he is a funny guy and makes things easy to learn.

He is very easy as long as you are a good student and turn you paper in on time. His class is also very intresting and he lets you out early almost every day.

Walsh is a great teacher. Really engaging, shows you lots of pictures so you can see what he is talking about. Loves his animated graphics a little too much. I've taken him for two geography classes and highly recomend him. Show up to class, you'll have fun, and you'll pass if you take notes. His jokes aren't that bad either. Plus he's HOT!!!!

Dan Walsh might be one of the best teachers at Saddleback. His classroom environment is the perfect blend of structure, order, and fun. Lectures are interesting. Extra credit opportunities include a field trip to the beach. Tip - work hard on the photo essay! His slides of the world are interesting - fun class! He’s a dedicated and noble educator!

Walsh is an outstanding guy, full of neo geo anecdotal wit and brilliance. Gives great lectures/presentations. Midterms and finals are easy if you attend class, and read along in the text, even if you're only half-conscious. You will walk away with newfound appreciation and care for your earthly surroundings. my favorite class. dr walsh was so excited about the strangest things. he will go over your papers if you ask him.

He is awesome!! If you need to take Geography class, because of IGETC or whatever, take his class!! I bet you'll LOVE it!! But, here is an advise. His test is not easy, though I don't say hard. It's not that hard to get a B, but hard to get an A.

Excellent teacher! Interesting lectures, stories, and personal photographs. Very funny guy. He made it very easy to sit through the classes. Tests are a little tough, but just take notes and skim along in the book and you'll be fine. AND DO THE PROJECT! It's kind of a fun project anyway. He's the best!!

Dan is an awesome professor! His lectures are entertaining and informative, he uses power point and makes most of them available online. The tests he gives are straight foward and he provides a study guide. He has one semester project that if you stay on top of it, and dont wait until the last minute it's a piece of cake.

Alli reccommend is that if you dont love geography i wouldnt take this class period. Walsh is a great teacher but who knew geography was freakinghard! or if you do decide to take it dont take an easy ass geo teacher, yah you wont learn anything and ya you may get an A in that but your FAIL the lab. too hard.... go take chem or soemthing.

Among the best professors at Saddleback--extremely concise and just a cool guy in general. The class itself is cool as well--learn about the world you live on! I found the class pretty easy but I also found the material interesting... if this subject bores you than you might find it difficult to absorb given the amount of detail.

Dan is a great teacher, very friendly and willing to help as much as he possibly can. There are 2 tests, 1 quiz, 1 atlas assignment, & 1 paper to turn in. His Powerpoint presentations are always a fun way of showing his students the world without leaving the classroom. Follow instructions & ask for help if you need it & you should do fine. His class is what you call Applied Geography.

He is an amazing professor and just a fun person; you can't help but smile while listening to his lectures. I would recommend this class to anyone. It would be interesting to anyone who has ever thought about traveling.

Dan's a good professor. He's very enthusiastic about geography and always willing to answer any questions, no matter how absurd they might be. Class consists primarily of PowerPoint lectures with a few in class assignments included. 1 mid-term, 1 final and 1 photo essay project - all of which are fairly easy if you take good notes during class. A+

Very humorous teacher, made learning geography very enjoyable, he knows his subject very well and its very interesting hearing about the various geographical places he mentions. Pay attention to his lectures and study concepts, and the photo project seems difficult, although it is fun once you get started, field trip photos help.

i loved taking his classes. he is a great teacher and is cute is his own nerd way. he can relate almost everything to alcohol. someday I hope to travel to all the places he has.

Its a really interesting class, but he tends to generalize everything. The project is lame, yet disgustingly easy. Tests are all easy also.

I loved this prof! he made geography really interesting. The two tests were kind of hard but if you review your notes and his posted power-point lectures you'll do fine. Sometimes he went a little fast but going over the power-point afterwards helps.

Funny and makes the class entertaining. One midterm and one final. One big project that you need to do over the course of the entire semester.. DO NOT WAIT TILL THE LAST MINUTE. Powerpoint lectures explain material well. If you study your notes you will do fine on the midterm/final. Take him for geography!

This teacher is kinda unprofessional, but very helpful. He makes geography fun, and interesting, which is not easy to do! There are 2 tests, the midterm and final, and 1 HUGE project. (but the project was fun too!) If you are taking geography, definitely take him. You will have to pay attention and study hard for an A, but this class is worth it!

I dont know why the person below said not to take his class, because if youre going to take geography you NEED to take it with Walsh. He gives TONS of extra credit opportunities! He is very funny! You dont have to go to class but you should if you want to pass. The class is bases on lecture and note taking. Photo project, mid term, and a final. Lectures are boring but if you take really good notes and go to class you should be fine. It was somewhat hard for me but I wouldnt mind taking this class again.

Make sure you take a lab course and the full course concurrently. Walsh was a REALLY nice guy and was always in a joking mood. His tests were REALLY difficult and he expects you to learn each lab in and out for the exam. The exam is full of stuff you dont expect. Offers a measly 5 points of extra credit. Take the lab class with sum1 else!

Walsh is a really fantastic teacher. i took him multiple times because you can tell he really loves what he does. He also has many first hand experiences that make the classes so interesting.

Had fun in his class and learned a lot. This professor is a very unassuming and genuinely caress for his students. Work in his class is not very hard if you do not procrastinate and get with it.

Was farily good as a teacher. Gives a project and 2 test for the class grade. Test were fairly easy, but the project is another story. Requires you to go around the OC and take pics of different things and then give a description of whats going on, and doesn't like it if you take stuff from the book.

Have to study, go to class & always take notes to get an A. played jeopardy for review, very helpful. Project wasnt too bad either. sometimes watched educational films on culture.

The best professor i've had in a year and a half of classes. It's like if Anthony Bourdain taught a class. He's not afraid to offend anyone, and it really makes the class entertaining.

Dan is a surprisingly passionate teacher who really wants you to learn and be interested in Geography. He teaches very well and has amazing stories and tells good jokes. Never a dull moment in his classrooms, and if he taught more classes I'd take every one of them.

Take this class for your physical science if you are just trying to get general ed done, or if you need to take geography in general. He LOVES geography and it helps greatly in his teaching and clarity. You take a midterm and final, and there's a photo project. Go to class and study for the tests and you'll pass easy.

Awesome class! By far one of my favorites. Walsh is extremely smart and funny, he uses personal experience in his teaching which keeps things very interesting. Work load was a minimal but I still learned alot.

Taking professor walsh's class made me more interested in geography. He's super funny and makes the class go by fairly fast. The work load is minimal and the tests aren't too bad If you study. I would highly recommend him. You will learn a lot of interesting things you never knew that happen everyday.

Keeps the class interesting with first hand pictures and a interesting power point. Well articulate and explains everything detailed for complete comprehension.

Walsh makes everyone interested in the subject. You have to do one big project and you have the whole semester to do it. After taking the class, you find yourself seeing the things that you learn in the class.

I did not like this class but the professor was very nice and his lectures were okay. He was fair in his grading and was always helpful. He never took role but if you miss the lectures you will have a hard time as the tests are on his lectures mostly.

I am not sure how you get a bad grade in this class. EVERYTHING on the test is in his lectures. Funny man that Dan.

Cool guy but i don't recomend taking the class. The tests are way harder than they need to be and I didn't find his study guides to be helpful at all for the test.

Professor Walsh is the best Geography teacher, his lectures are very informative, he answers your questions, very helpful and humorous, he takes you on a wild ride all around the world, he gives extra credit, his lectures are very helpful, just make sure you take good notes from the powerpoint. He is a great teacher. His lectures are very interesting and cover everything for the quizzes and exams. He goes off of his lectures and not the book. Not on blackboard but emails all of the lecture outlines. May not drop people but if you do not come to class then say goodbye to good grades on any test. Not a lot of homework and one project.

Dan Walsh is by far the best professor at Saddleback. He makes the class fun and has lots of interesting/funny/cool stories that relate to the material. I've taken his World Regional and Physical Geography class and would recommend both.

Professor Walsh makes a pretty boring subject so fun and entertaining. His humor is the best and he made me laugh in every lecture. Your entire grade is basically one midterm, one final, one big project. Tests are tough and not much of a study guide, take notes and show up for Geo Jeopardy. Tough grader on the project but he's really fair.

At dinner on days when I had class, my parents were like, "Tell us what you learned in Geography!" They had so much fun hearing about it. This was one of the most fun and interesting classes I've ever taken. As long as you take good notes, know everything on the study guides he provides, and give yourself enough time for the paper, you'll be fine!

Dan walsh makes some of the most boring stuff on earth (literally) exciting and fun to learn about. Great humor in the classroom, easy to talk to, office hours if needed. My best advice is to go to class ( VERY mandatory) take detailed notes and study for midterm and final. Ended with a B, but I worked for it. Final project is graded hard!

Professor Walsh almost convinced me to switch majors. I actually took another class with him as an elective because I liked him so much. Hes a great guy; super interesting and funny, and just a REALLY good teacher all around. I wish more teachers cared about their subjects the way he does. 10 years later I still remember him. Professor Walsh is awesome. His sarcasm and sense of humor makes his subject interesting. He offers clear grading criteria and his project help you learn a lot (just do 1 picture a week and you will be fine). He does not take attendance but you need to attend to pass and take notes. His exams are from his slides. Over all great experience.

I had so much fun in this class! You can tell that Prof. Walsh really loves what he does. Attendance and note taking is VERY important in succeeding in the class. If you do this, the tests aren't actually too bad. Start early on the photo project and you'll be fine.

Dan was probably one of the best professors I have had. I. There is virtually no homework with the exception of an eight-page term paper due at the end of the semester, but it is really easy work. The only downside is he doesn't use any online so if you miss a lecture, there is no way to get it other than from someone in the class.

Professor Walsh Is such a quirky character! Despite his dad jokes and condensed power points, he made geography really fun. Just show up to class, take notes and do the jeopardy. The Spy journal is fun, the geo web game is addicting and that's all you get graded on. Tests are multiple choice and the answers can be pretty obvious.

Prof. Walsh is such a funny guy and honestly made this class very enjoyable. Attendance not mandatory, but it does help to be there and take notes on his lectures. No homework is assigned. Grade is 1 midterm, 1 final, and a photo project (which I would DEFINITELY recommend you get started on asap because it takes time). Easy A if you try.

There are 3 major grades in the class; midterm, final, and a paper. Attendance is not mandatory but it only helps to show up. His lectures were more humorous and reminiscing than boring. Take good notes and actually study for the tests and you'll be fine.

Grading is determined by a mid-term, final, and project (with a few small assignments sprinkled in). The lectures are very interesting, and clear. Coming to class is also very beneficial to getting a better understanding on the topics. To get an A on the tests you definitely have to study.

He is a fun guy that is full of dad jokes! Attendance technically isn't graded, but the lecture slides aren't on canvas. So if you don't ever show up, you're out of luck. Only 3 big grades: Midterm, Final, and Final Project. 2-3 small assignments, but those aren't a big deal. There are also a few opportunities for extra credit.

Dan is very kind and genuinely loves his work. His lectures are important to pay attention to because they comprise everything on the exams. He does not use Canvas, so if you have any questions you'll have to email him through MySite/Outlook. Highly recommend this class.

Professor Walsh was amazing! His lectures are really engaging and he loves to include personal anecdotes to make things interesting. He sees the inner geographer in everybody! He is SUPER understanding if you ever have problems with the class or need help. Easy A! You definitely need to go to class to do well, but he makes that super easy!

Absolute gem! I took his class for my major, and it is one of the easiest A's I have ever received. He makes very interesting lectures and makes a lot of funny jokes to keep things interesting. All you need to do is participate and study a little to get an A. Highly recommend.

There is not enough space to talk about Dan as a person and educator. He acknowledges that this is the GE level, so he puts a lot of emphasis on trying to educate and connect with students rather than UC grad-student jargon. Dan's lectures are fascinating and honestly binge-worthy, he infuses them with his personal experiences and witty humor!

Prof Walsh is an amazing teacher. had the online geog 3 class was fantastic. He kept upbeat interesting lectures, was like being in the classroom live. A fair grader if you do the work. attendance is a must. if live class, take notes. read. listen. you will always walk away earning something from his classes.

EASY class. Each Week: just watch the lectures (1hr at most) and do the quiz (you can do them twice and see which answers you got wrong).sometimes there are small assignments but they're easy. Trust me, this was a nice easy class. Which I admire because you still learn alot. Proves that you can have an easy class and learn alot. Great lectures!

Makes online class fun and engaging!! He lets you take the weekly open note quizzes twice and all of the answers can be found in the lecture videos! He has so much personal experience in the places he is talking about! I recommend this class to everyone!

Prof Walsh was very straight forward for GEO1 its a lot of lectures but very simple you watch them you will be able to get an A no problem you have two attempts at the quizzes which makes it even easier, be aware you cannot look things up tho he is very specific from lecture to quizzes

This class is a good choice if you're looking for a lab credit course. Prof Walsh has very good online lectures where he shows off his witty humor and amazing life adventures. There isn't much work besides weekly quizzes and a few papers.

Professor Walsh is a fantastic professor. When he speaks about each area on the map, he speaks with enthusiasm and personal knowledge. The guy has been everywhere. I like that he throws in personal experiences from his travels. Plan on a couple of hours of lectures a week. Not boring at all, just a lot.

Dan Walsh is an all around great professor. The guy knows his stuff, and really cares about the subject he teaches. His lectures show him and his first hand experience around the world, making them very engaging and interesting. He makes jokes every class and is pretty witty sometimes. Class is not difficult! Just a few quizzes here and there

Very chill teacher and class.There are not a lot of assignments and the coursework is pretty easy and interesting. Mr. Walsh is very enthusiastic about the course and wants his students to succeed.

Professor Walsh loves his subject and that made all the difference. He was enthusiastic, witty, and showed pictures of himself someplace cool in every powerpoint no matter where on Earth we were studying that day! I genuinely enjoyed learning in his class. The quizzes aren't too bad! Take notes, study well, and you'll pass fine.

If you're looking for the best professor for a Physical Geography class. Dan Walsh is the best pick for this area. His lectures are really understandable, the guy clearly loves this subject, and I actually enjoyed this class because of how interesting he made it. He's not too hard on you either in all areas of a syllabus! HIGHLY RECOMMEND A+

He is very funny and his lecture videos are amazing. He is rather helpful and does offer half credit for late assignments. Participation matters in this class if you want an 'A'.

Prof Walsh's GEO1 class is engaging and interesting. His lectures are entertaining, and he clearly loves the subject. With some diligent studying and use of resources like Unstuckstudy ai, getting a solid grade is very doable.

Simple class with clear instructions. Walsh gives good lectures that are to help prepare for the weekly tests. There is an assignment that you have to travel for but he gives you plenty of time to plan and prepare. Overall nice guy and good class.
