She's the best teacher ever! I can't believe how easy her class was. I hate english, but i did so well. Take this class, but beware that she is reeeeallly ugly. if you can look past that, this is the class for you!

Dana is a very professinal teacher. She is strict on getting work in on time and goes by the dates all the time. She is a tough grader, but will give you advice on how to improve. Her class format is not to teach, but more of a conference setting in which you discuss the whole time.

She is a tough teacher but I learned more in this English class than ever before. She is clear about her expectations and will not accept anything less. As long as you come to her with enough time she will provide any help she can! She is a great, but tough teacher.

i think she was a great teacher ,for me because i was terrible at writting ,but she helped me alot. She is a tuff teacher ,but that just makes you work harder which is always good . i was terrible not that i'm the best writter now but i sure no more now and i'm greatful. she has a great sense of mind

She is a great teacher. Of course a tough grader but she will not baby you like other teachers. If you come to her for help she will as long as it's not an hour before your essays its due. I got an A straight from ESL classes so it can't be that hard. She is clear about her expectations, and will not take any less than your best. She is also very professional and will reward your hard work. She bought our class pizza.

I highly enjoyed Mrs. Bassett. Not only is she beautiful, she has a beautiful sister named Lisa as well!!;) But seriously, she is awesome! A bit tough, but fair.

not the easiest teacher, but she is fair. if you stay on top of the work, then you'll be fine, she just gets frustrated if people didnt do their work or read the hw,SO DO IT! very nice lady and funny too!

great teacher. she will get irritated with people that shouldn't even be in the class. she isn't flexible in grading essays that don't deserve a good grade. she grades on the quality of the essay not by pity. she is demanding because this is college not elementary. suck it up or you won't survive at a university.

Amazing teacher. has a lot of her own opinion that she rambles on about, but welcomes in class discussion. She's a hard grader, no lie, but i saw improvement after every essay i wrote. You can be the best writer out there, but she only gives perfect scores or A's only if you really amaze her, which is extremely difficult. loved her.

She could sometimes be hard grader, but it really depends on how much work you put in. Unlike what many people say here, I felt kinda sorry when she gave me really good grades when I wasnt even deserving it. She is very opinionated but is also open to other opinions as well. just treat your essays like refining artwork and you will love the class.

She likes to hear and give opinion. Shes an okay grader, i mean i passed. She says shes tough when it comes to grades, but shes actually not. She gives some opportunities for ec. when she gives a reading assignment, she usually discusses it or gives a quiz on it the next class meeting.

This teacher is amazingly beautiful. I took her class fall 2008. I earned an A in the class. I was probably the best writer in the class. She grades hard on essays but she gives much opportunity for advice and critique before turning in an assignment. She is very much interesting to listen to. Great sense of humor. She's young and hot! lol

Awesome teacher/awesome class. If you want to cruise through English, this is not the class for you! Dana will grade papers accordingly. If you are comfortable in your written skills, it will show in class. If you are a good writer, she will only make you better. She makes time to help her students, and she knows her students on a personal level.

she's all about tough Love in her class room she wants all of her students to be great writers and ,yes she is a hard grader especially when she knows you could have done better on a writing assignment, but over all she really dose cares and wants you to be prepare for the next level of English

This was my favorite class! With Professor Bassett there is never a dull moment... BTW, this class is NOT for lazy people... you have to WORK hard for an A, but in the end it is worth it!!

This class was interesting at times but very uninteresting at other times and off topic. Her jokes can be disrespectful and personal. but She is very helpful though when students ask for help.

Please people!!! if you want a good grade work for it. She is there to help students who want her help. She is not there to push us, we are not little kids to be push around by mommy! Yes, she is not as easy as other professors who don't give quizzes and maybe a final, but if you push yourself and motivated your own self you WILL LEARN!

Rants an awful lot about personal life and media, but is fairly concise on course syllabus. Insidiously picky with grammar, but that’s her job, so it’s to be expected. Papers are due on time, but on the flip side there’s plenty of revision time before its due. Low grade? Make it up with EPTs/quizzes. Overall a good professor.

Grades tough, gives many quizzes, and assigns tons of reading. If you keep up with your work, you'll do just fine. You're in college, get used to it!! American Lit post Civil War is what she has her masters in and she is incredibly knowledgable and passionate about it. I changed my major to this, because of her and her class! Absolutely loved it!!!

Goes off topic a lot. She's a tough grader. And very picky with grammar. DLA's and grammar quizzes will be done for extra credit.

I took Bassett for eng n 60 during spring if you do the work she is pretty easy she is willing to help when you go to her overall good professor

NO LAZY STUDENTS She is a great teacher, but you must do your work in order to pass the class. She is not like other teachers that give you many chances to turn your assignments in. If you are lazy don't take her class.

LAZY PEOPLE BEWARE. This isn't an easy class to begin with you have to work for your grade not an easy A but not hard either. Bassett's way of teaching is unique and she is picky on what she wants on essays and grammar (3 essays over all or 4 not sure) but if you meet with her she will help you, I passed with an A.

As long as you pay attention and do as she says you will get a good grade in the class. She lays everything out Barney style! She is very laid back but also has specific things she demands. Reads are interesting and essays are easy to do if you follow her step by step guidelines.

Amazing professor! Took her last spring. Outgoing and funny. She really helped me improve my writing skills! Also gives great feedback. Allows you to get extra credit on the essays and you will have one group project. Really cares about her students succeeding.

Professor Basset is a great professor if you're willing to put in the work. This is not the class to earn that "easy A." She is a tough grader and expects a lot and pushes her students to make them become a better student. The only reason I gave her a 4 and not a 5 is because at times the class was a little disorganized. Good professor overall!

Awesome woman and professor! I enjoyed her class, for the most part, but she was a tough cookie. She was very picky about certain details but a good professor nonetheless.

Bassett knows her stuff and does a great a job at explaining everything thoroughly. She offers lots of help if needed! She will be pretty blunt about your work. If she wasn't straight up about my work, I wouldn't have passed. The only way you will fail is if you don't show up and don't do what you need to do. She's great! :)

Professor Bassett is funny, intriguing and overall a great professor. She makes learning fun and gives great feedback. She is and will continue to be one of my all time favorite professors. She offers help and genuinely cares for her students. I highly recommend her :)

She is one of those people you will not exactly love at the start of the class but will appreciate after years are passed because of how specific things have to be (like MLA and all the necessary things to your future classes) She may not be the best professor for students who aren't comfortable with a rather fast paced class! FOLLOW DIRECTIONS AND SHOW UP TO CLASS. She gives very detailed instructions on how she wants your papers to be, so PAY ATTENTION. She is a tough grader, but if you reach out to her she is super helpful. Come prepared to office hours. It was a challenging class, but you get what you put in. I worked my butt off and earned an A! :)

She is a really good person. I'v never been good at English but after I took her class I learned wayyyy more in the 5 months I was in her class than I did in the 4 years I was in high school. She is very funny and understanding. She also gives really good feedback.

Mrs. Basett was a fantastic English professor in every aspect of giving the tools for her students to thrive. Her humor made her classes exciting and not boring like perhaps others. She is very knowledgeable when it comes to writing essays, grammar, MLA. I feel participation is key because she is willing to help anyone who is willing 2do work.

Professor Bassett is one of the greatest professors I have ever taken. Her lectures and what she required are clear, and all you have to do is to based on her instructions. She is also ready for helping you with your essays, and she will give you good and truthful advice. Your skills will be improved a lot after this class.

I love my fellow classmates who dole out a low rating. Its called being pushed and do your work assigned to you. She has taken the time to work and explain projects. Would take again and made me a better student.

One of the best classes Ive ever taken. She took the time to be clear with her assignments and also we were instructed what to do. I learned a few things about myself in how I prepare for classes because of her. Wish she taught more of the classes that I need. You need to take this class.

I really found this class to be important for what Im doing in my college career. Prof Bassett really got me ready for my other classes as well as hers. Also graded fairly and put forward an effort for the class and individual.

Professor Bassett is the best professor if you really want to improve your writing skills. You MUST put in the work to get an A in her class. She rewards your strong efforts if you write then rewrite and rewrite. Prepare to visit the learning center for help and tutoring. She is very accessible and gives excellent feedback.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but it is MY own, Professor Bassett was a great instructor for English 101 of the 3 classes I took this semester, only in this class did we get through all the material This is a heavy course load with lots of essays and reading, but we did accomplish a lot in 16 weeks. Complete all your assignments and you'll do fine

One of the best professors for participating students. She provides clear guidelines on what she wants in essays, proper due dates (even extensions), great feedback, and much more. She is willing to spend time to help her students, and the class is well structured, definitely for students who want to learn and are willing to put in the effort.

Her course isn't hard as long as you do the homework, and she gives great feedback and always offers her help. As long as you do the homework you should be fine. Essay 2 and Essay 4 is pretty hard but she always offers help with her office hours.

Definitely better than what the ratings are. Took it last fall and she was very helpful. Ask questions and respond to the prompt and you'll be fine. I learned a lot, she gives great feedback. 10-12 pg paper due at the end of the class but its a combination of past essays in the class so do work on time and it'll be easy to complete. Easy A for me.
