Very hard class cuz there're lots of writing. 5 inclass writing assignments. 1 group project but you can choose to do it by yourself. She is very helpful and gives lots of feedback on your work. Highly recommend!

you learn a lot in her class! she is very helpful and she doenst hand out A's. i got a 88% in her class. theres is a lot of writing assignments, but u get to redo them a lot to improve your grade! i reccomend her. work hard and the class will pay off.

She definately does not hand out A's, but you will learn a lot. She provides pleanty of helpful feeeback, and is not in a hurry to get you out of her office hours. So if you're not so concerned with getting an A, but need to improve your writing, take her

I am highly recommended. We all know this class is difficult, but she has tried to make the class easy for you. She is very helpful, answer all the question which you may have. She always let you revise your work, and give you 5 points if you improved you

Lots and lots of writing. But you will learn a lot in her class. I got C's on most of the writing assignments but got a B in the class because of the final writing project. She is a very nice professor and very easy to talk to.

nice lady, but her expectations are very high...a lot of writing and when u write, expect a C cuz thats all she gives...very hard to get an A, hard to get a B so expect a C...but a nice class, the easiest you will find...just do the work and u pass

Dr. Loewy is my favorite professor. Take her, and she will become your favorite professor too :)

she gives mostly C's on assignments even though you think that you did well. Don't expect her to give you A's and don't think highly of your paper because you'll probably get lower than what you believe. She is very nice but a very hard grader.

Dr. Loewy is one of the nicest professors I've ever had. I am always excited about her class even though I don't like writing as much. There will be a lot of writing in this class, but it's neccessary to improve your writing skills. Take dr. Loewy and you'll benefit from her class:)

Overall good teacher. She is a little liberal. You need to do all your work and participate in class. Class is hard if you don't like writing. Most people are in it because they can't write. You will learn how to be a better writer and be comfortable speaking in public after the class. Good Luck!

Great instructor. Not easy, but good. Do all the assignments. Do recomend the class (but you have no option). Must take class if you got a low score in your GMAT/Entry exam in writting.

She is avery good professor. make sure you go to class becasue you can learn a lot from her. Quizzes are easy. it might be difficult to get an A, but she makes the class very interesting.

It isn't my favorite class, but she teaches it very well. I highly advise going to her office to chat a few times during the semester. I got a B, but never scored very highly on assignments and turned like 3 things in late.

Great Professor!!! Class is difficult, but fair. Lots of writing, but it is a writing class. She really cares about the students and is always available to help. I hate writing and this turned out to be my favorite class. She always encouraged great discussions and picked interesting topics to ponder.

Through my college career, This is the first writing class that the instructor let us revise after grading, and give credit for doing it. The credit is not much but I have learned a lot through revising my own paper. The instructor is nice and really helpful. Thanks Dr. Loewy

Please take Dr. Loewy if you want to learn. She is the best teacher I've ever had. In fact, I am missing her lectures. She's always there to help. She is cool, nice and very understanding professor. Bottom line, please TAKE HER!!!

She's great! Dr. Loewy is helpful, knowledgeable & she cares about her students. YES, the class is tough in that there’s a lot of writing required. I’ve learned much from this class. The revising helps a great deal with not only the extra points she gives but also with improving your writing skills. She's a beautiful & fit woman so a chili for her!

Extremely tough grader, can be unconsistent at times in her grading, but gives option to revise ++. Attendance and promptness is a must if wish 2 get good grade, and recommend going 2 office hours too! If you are a female your chances of getting a "B" go up, but not for males (C likely). Overall good teacher you do learn well.

I took her over the summer and i've learned a lot in her class. however, she could be a little mean when you try to talk to her one on one. Overall, she explains the material well and the project is fairly easy. Just follow what she wants and you'll do fine.

By far the greatest teacher at CSUF.

Each student needs to do a presentation (either a text book chapter, case moderation, or news event). Four case written assignments (1 page ea) about a business subject. Research project (group or ind.) due at end with presentation. Not hard course, just lots of busy work. Assignments can be turned back in for more points after corrections.

Had Dr. Loewy in summer 2005. What bunk tht she's unfair to guys!! She's the most fair teacher I've seen. Try hard and you'll learn a lot and the stuff is useful. She's very professional and cool.

Had her a while ago, but everyting she told us is true. In my job now I totally use the stuff from this class. So hang in there. She can be tuff but she means well. Love her stories. She can be entertaining but its always related to school.

I got stuck in this grad class because I blew off my GMAT essay (4-my bad) - this class is great if you want an EASY A or are an ESL student, if not I doubt this class will really challenge you. I know it didn't challenge me or a couple of my classmates who were very disappointed with this being a graduate level class.

The graduate writing class is useful, even to native speakers. I learned a lot of new stuff. She is an interesting professor, very knowledgeable and entertaining. She's also into health and fitness. Always ready to help. She's a lot of fun too.

Demanding hard to even get a B. Does seem to be biased agaisnt dudes though and well she sucks at correcting papers, you can rewrite for more points but sometimes on the correction she'll find errors she ddin't find the first time around and docks for that wtf?

While the class and her lectures can be very boring, there is alot of information packed within it. She is a tough grader, which is for your benefit, but she also gives you a chance to earn some extra points by revising your original paper. Pay attention and learn, my current employer asked for some business writing samples so keep the good ones!!

She's a tough grader, but she explains the material very thoroughly. You can earn extra points for revising your work. If you read the book and pay attention in class, you'll know what she expects of your work. The exit exam was similar to 2 previous writing assignments. Put forth a decent amount of effort, and you'll pass.

She's a tough grader, but doesn't mind explaining everything if asked. She mostly wants to see that you put in hard work. As for her group project...she wants to see your argument, possible counter-arguments, and explaining those counter-arguments away. That is a MUST for the group project.

Good teacher. She requiress alot of effort and time. She will let you redo your work for 5pts extra which is rarely given but i guess its worth the try. Dont really need the book except for format styles but put in alot of work and u will be ok.

Great Professor. Very organized and very clear with everything she assigns. The work load is fair. 5 case analysis which are 1 page single spaced each, and a term paper. I definitely recommend her, was the best professor I had this past semester.

hard grader. revision points are barley given and DEF. a biased grader!!! try hard, and do all the extra credit. overall not a bad class. but it is a pain. try to get on her good side.

I really enjoyed this class. The discussions and presentations were intriguing and dynamic. Teacher was very helpful and well-rounded, always having something to say about the different topics. If you want a good grade, make sure to participate and to do all of the work.

Dr. Loewy is a very nice and helpful teacher. However, she's definitely a tough grader, fair or not, it depends.... This class is more like a current event writing class than a managerial/business comm class. This is probably because she got her PhD in English but Communication/Marketing.

She is a good teacher. Wants us to learn a lot from her class. You work hard and get a lot from her at the end of the semester.

One of my favorite profs; however she is definitely a hard/unfair/biased grader. If only our Student ID was used instead of our names - maybe the grading would be more fair? Lots of interesting discussions. Doesn't force participation which I really like! Don't bother revising your papers because no extra points will be given.

She is a very knowledgeable and experienced instructor. Expect to work very hard for an above-average grade. A tough and somewhat biased grader. Opinionated about the cases discussed in class. Try not to contradict her ideas/opinions in your case write-ups if you want a good grade.

almost impossible to get an A. follow the book examples and her online examples CAREFULLY when you model your papers or you will pay dearly when she grades yours

Don't know what that person's problem is. I found her class to be easy. She is somewhat tough on non-native speakers but I was grateful that she actually spent time correcting my work and giving me feedback. That's more than I can say for other professors I've had.

I gave her a rough eval for the class, but in fairness, she makes an honest effort to teach the material, I think she just considers us students to be dense, which in some cases, like me, is justified but makes me mad when I hear it. She's tough and mildly unfair when grading, but if you put in the effort and show up, you learn. Not an easy pass.

Her grading standards are super hard and no one is able to pass her class with a desent grade. She is only good at lecturing but her grading is hard.

She is NOT the professor you want to take especially if business is your major. I totally hated her grading standards!!!

This class requires a lot of work! I know some people say it is imposibble to get an A, but I do get an A- in this class. The key to pass her class with a good grade is always go to office and talk to her. For international students, you guys have to work harder. She does fail people! => 2 presentations, 5 cases study, 1 research paper (15 pages)

Well, she's not easy, but why would anyone complain about learning a lot and having to be "proffessional"??? SheWILL prep you for the worksplace.

Grades are just out. Dr.Lowey is a fun instructor and I did better then I thought. in my class we liked her.

AVOID HER IF POSSIBLE! YOU CAN FIND SOMEONE ELSE WAY BETTER THAN HER. SHE IS NOT THE PERSON TO TAKE! SHE IS NOT WORTH YOUR TIME AT ALL!!! WHEN SHE HELPS YOU, SHE WILL BE SAYING THAT THE WORK IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY, NOT HERS.

Dr. Loewy is awsome for BUAD501. She leads you to think like a manager through case studies. Her grading is hard, but there's a chance to revise. As long as you put efforts, she can tell. Very knowledgeable in business issues. Very willing to help. For those who comment her the other way, maybe u didn't show a proper attitude when u asked.

great class if you know how to write. A lot of people complain here but I don't know why. she's great.

I agree that Professor Lowey is a hard grader. But, she is a very acknowledgeable instructor. You will gain many essential business skills such as critical thinking, decision making and analytical skills. Take case studies seriously because they will prepare you for the final exam. If you are a hard worker and strive to learn, take her class.

If you're a slacker: DO NOT TAKE! If you want to learn: She's the one! I loved her, never learned so much! Read the book and follow directions- if you pay attention, you know what they are. Ask if you're not sure. Very nice and helpful. Big emphasis on in-class writing. Final project weighted most: Get it perfect! Know your grammar!! Participate!

She is wonderful! Very helpful and understanding. She is flexible with coursework to best suit her students' needs. Just talk to her if you need something to help you learn and she will be more than accommodating. I learned a lot in her class!

I based my first impression of Dr. Loewy on what I read on this site. I thought she'd be harsh with grading assignments, but she really is the opposite. The class requires a lot of writing (of course), but she is very helpful and wants you to succeed. Unfortunately, non-native speakers will find this class more difficult.

She is very nice and experienced professor. I went to her office hours and asked her for advice either for my career or writing skills. Every time she is very nice and patient to me. I like her teaching and I would recommend her to my friends.

I liked this professor a lot. She was not the most popular because she is very articulate and it can come off a little condescending. However, she is so smart and so easy to talk to and get along with. Class is not hard if you speak English as your primary language. No tests. Just a final. Not a hard grader. A really nice lady! But NOT nice to all!

The most valuable class taken so far. Unlike many professors who teach according to textbooks, she teaches you critical thinking through casual discussion. The course is hard, especially for international students. Spend a lot of time researching and writing the group project. However, the professor is so charming, inspiring and knowledgeable.
