Does anyone know anything about this teacher? she is teaching a night amh2010 class and i was considering her but i dont see any comments on here. please let me know ASAP!
She is clear with her teaching & fair. She covers alot of what's in the chapter, so if you take good notes in class, you pretty much know what the ch is about. There are assignments & essays you have to do but she gives u plenty of time to complete them. I would take her again & recommend her for any history class.
She is a great teacher, very clear and really cool. I'd highly recommend her to anyone looking at a history class. The homework is pretty easy and basic, and the essays you have plenty of time to complete. I really enjoyed the class and am taking her for LAH2000 which will be a great class!
Great knowlege of subject. Clear about assignments. Helps whenever asked. Little homework. Two tests (Midterm/final). Practically gives you the answers. Two book reports. (Good Books) Take the notes down and you will be fine. Pretty easy A if you do the studying and show up for class. Great Teacher!
She is the best teacher I've had @ FCCJ. She knows what she is talking about, and makes u love the subject. Easy A, just take good notes, do little HW, and ATTEND CLASS. 2 exams, and 2 essays, but she gives planty of time... study for the 2 exams and You'll be fine.... I recomend her, and I'll take her again.
Great teacher, fun subject. Little extra work, but worth it for the grade.
Great Prof. Great knowlegge of subject and she likes it and relates it to things going on now! She is available for help and always respectful. 2 tests 3 Hw's 1 group project and 2 papers If you dont like to attend class this isnt the class for you as attendance will affect your grade good luck I enjoyed this class immensely. Good Luck!
Very good teacher! She makes class interesting and is actually enthused about teaching History! She puts all your grades on blackboard so there is no waiting for days to see how you did on a test or homework! She is also big on movies, and not the old fashioned stictly informational ones! They are all really modern and most have some funny actors a
I don't remember the code but I had her for both parts of american history and her class was fun, the only part that wasn't great was that we read 2 books a semester and have to write a 1000 word essay on it but we get to choose a question to answer and you have plenty of time to do it. and the midterm and final are pretty easy
She is a very good teach. The class is overall really easy.
Fun Class! Everyone interested in Latin America should take it. Professor Logan makes it interesting and I enjoyed her teaching style.
I really loved this professor! She does lecture with a smile and enjoys what she teaches. She uses powerpoints to present her notes. One word of advice, make sure you read your syllabus! I would take another class with this professor!
She was a great teacher, and very passionate about her work! You can really learn a lot from her. The only negative aspect of her class was the abundant note taking! Other than that, I would recommend her to anyone!
Prof. Logan is very easy and nice. She will stay after class and help you, and all the tests are easy. She gives the entire test (practically) ahead of time for a review, and then gives you all the answers before the test. If you go to class and take the notes there's no way you can fail. Quizes are easy if you do the homework.
Professor Logan is very good at what she does. Not to mention the big smile she always has on her face. lol
She is a good teacher, but half of all her tests are essays. She gives reviews, but you do not know which are essays. Give yourself plently of study time and you should do well. She is a stiffler on grammar when it comes to papers.
If you do your homework and spend the time like you are suppose to. You will pass her class, She gives you all the answers for the tests in the study guides. Its up to you to study.
Professor Logan knows her stuff, and you will too after taking her class (and showing up, of course) She creates an environment for thinkers to flourish, and her lectures are absolutely fascinating - she'll have you eating out of the palm of her hand ... very profound Historical insight. I would trust no one else at FCCJ with teaching me History
the class consists of 4 homework assignments and 3 tests. She is very helpful. she gives a review sheet and goes over it before each test. If you study you will pass her tests. If you have to take history take her. She is very educated! She's a nice person too. Attend class punctually for notes/lectures!
She's nice and if you take advantage of her office hours she will really help you on any subject you are unsure of
Professor Logan teaches a very fair class. If you do your share of work, you will get an A. Extremely responsive to E-mail questions (unlike others), even late at night. Goes above and beyond to make sure that you are capable of reaching your potential. Uses Blackboard for grades throughout classes and offers extra credit. Highly recommended!!
Professor Logan is very organized and clear in her lectures. She assigns several homework assignments, couple extra credit opportunities, and three exams. She reviews the test material with the class. Very knowlegdable in hisotry and professional. Great Professor.
This is by far the most challenging class I've had in college, but it's very worth the work! She is an execellent teacher and she really loves History!! I will take her again for LAH.
This professor is by far the best professor I have had a FCCJ. She is always willing to help and is very easy to contact. She almost immediately responds to e-mails you send. She has a strong passion for what she does. I would definitely take her again. She teaches with such excitement that even if you don't like history you will after her class.
She's great! Very knowledgeable, very organized, and very helpful. She also makes class very interesting. One of the best professors I've had at FCCJ.
prof. logan was great! its hard to find professors that actually care enough to learn your name. she is extremely helpful!! take her, its only 2 tests, as long as you study and show up to take notes, you will be fine.
I will admit, she is a good teacher. She knows what she's talking about and she is helpful to her students. You have to show up to class to take LOTS of notes, which means lots of lecturing. Be prepared for a lot of "uh's" and "um's" during her lectures.
Logan is so awesome. I loved her! The class was interesting and I lerned a lot. TAKE HER!
Prof. Logan is very knowledgeable. She lets you know what is expected of you up front. She requires a lot of work, but as long as you show up for class and do it you will be fine. She constantly reminds you of deadlines and is easy to approach. There is no excuse to fail this class as long as you attend and put some effort into it!
Professor Logan is the most amazing person I have ever meant. I had absolutely no interest in History before her class and now I am a history major.
She is great. If you take notes and show up, you will do great, if nothing else she wont fail you if you try.
I wasn't interested in history one bit before taking this class. Professor Logan made the class very interesting with group activities, lectures, and movies. Highly recommend this professor for anyone taking history! With studying and coming to a class, an A is achievable.
Prof. Logan is a really nice and well-experienced teacher, also not to mention she is very cute too
There is a lot of participation quizzes, and if you attend all classes then you don't have to take the final. There were 2 essays, and plenty of opportunities for extra credit. There is no reason not to pass this class. She is dedicated to teaching, and is easy to approach.
This was a very easy course, she explains the material very well and she very helpful. You only have two exams and she gives you studyguides for the exam.If you do not miss any classes, no final. There is only two papers as well. Highly recommend if your not fund of history because she makes it very fun and enjoyable.
Great teacher. Knows what she's talking about. Very helpful and explains things clearly. If you have perfect attendance you don't have to take the final.
A really good professor who makes the classes interesting!I learned a lot and it was one of my favorite classes!
Professor Logan was the best History professor I have ever taken. I hated History and she made it so enjoyable that I want to take all of her classes. As long as you show her you are trying she will do all she can to help you pass.
I took Prof Logan for US Hist to 1865. Most of her class is lecture so being there is a good idea. She makes her own tests so follow her study guides and you will do well and actually retain something. Her assignments are relative and worthwhile. I would strongly recommend this teacher if you're looking for a balanced workload and a good class.
she was a very good teacher. Her class was easy and straight forward we had four tests and 5 HW assignments and she gave extra credit too. she would give you a study guide for the test and it was basically the same thing on the test.
PROFESSOR LOGAN WAS VERY HELPFUL AND UNDERSTANDING. I WOULD SAY SHE IS ONE OF THE BEST TEACHERS I HAVE HAD; FROM CSU SACRAMENTO, U.C. DAVIS AND NOW ASHFORD UNIVERSITY, I HAVE HAD MY SHARE OF PROFESSORS. YOU WILL BE PLEASED WITH HER!
Very knowledgeable about history. You take notes and do group questions but if you don't like history you will be extremely bored. Write everything down she has on the pwerpoint because when you have study guides all of your answers are in the notes. Would I recommend her yes for knowledge and understanding but if you want a fun time not the one.
She does mostly lectures & she is pretty clear at telling u what are on the tests, BUT she gives WAY 2 much work for the amount of time that we have. We had 6 quizzes due in 2 weeks,i feel she doesn't understand that we have other classes we have to work on. ALSO u have to read a book throughout the whole semester along with ur textbook. The books
She does most lectures & she is clear at telling u what are on the tests, she gives WAY 2 much work 4 the amount of time that we have.i feel she doesn't understand that we have other classes we have to work on. ALSO u have to read a book throughout the whole semester along with ur textbook. The books page average is 900 pages. I do NOT recommend her.
Wonderful teacher. In class lectures are interesting. Study for the tests! Outside of class there are a lot of quizzes and a book review. She is more than willing to help and there is really no excuse to not do well in her class. I definitely loved this class!
History was never a class that I enjoyed but Professor Logan helped me to finally appreciate it. She is very knowledged in the field and it shows. Her lectures are detailed and always engaging, although ther is alot of writing. The films have lots of exciting material. This truly was an awesomely enriching class for me thanks to Professor Logan.
This class is mainly lectures and online quizzes. Her exams are easy if you study. Requires you to read a historical book and do a book report on it. She makes class interesting and fun. Do NOT be absent or tardy or you will miss a lot. Lots of note taking but they are very useful on the exams. Strict classroom procedures.
I took this professor for three different history classes and loved all of them. As long as you take good notes on her lectures you will do good on every test and paper. It's all right there in front of you.
I have taken her for both of the American History classes. The class is extremely interesting. Take the notes and do your study guides and you should be fine. She is willing to help with anything you may be confused on or need assistance with. come every day and you don't have to take the final. =]
If you do not study and do the work you will not pass. She is very knowledgable in the subject she is teaching. This is not an easy A class but if you work hard you will pass.
This is the most amazing teacher I have ever taken. I recommend her to anyone. She is so easy to listen to when she teaches.
Prof Logan is AWSOME! I've taken her for 3 different history classes and they're easy as long as you pay attention and do the work. She gives you an outline with EVERYTHING that's going to be on the tests. Anyone who complains about her is just lazy. She gives you everything you need to succeed in the class. Trust me, you want to take this class.
During this class I have learned so much, not about what year things happened but how those events shaped today! She has been an amazing teacher who is very knowledgeable and obviously passionate about her department! Open note quizzes make this easy but the exams are a bit more difficult. Study and show up...that's the key to an A!
Excellent professor! If you don't show up and do your part then you won't pass. If you show up and do the work, it's easy. Absolutely no reason not to do well in this course. It's what you make of it, and whether you think you like history or not, you will find this class interesting.
Professor Logan was an amazing teacher! Her lectures were very clear and NOT boring! She was willing to help with whatever you didn't understand! Everything you're tested on is on the study guide! It's an easy A. Come every day and you do not have to take the Cumalitive final! Take this clas!!
She is an amazing teacher! If you have questions at all she answers them asap. She grades all the work on time and gives you everything you need to know for her class. There is some reading from the book but its minor stuff and it's really easy stuff. Can't wait to have her again for her other class!
Alright Ill be honest. She knows her stuff but is very strict. If you dont pay attention you will be lost. I wouldn't say her class is easy at all. There is no way to relate to her. She's a typical college professor that just doesn;t care really. I do not recomend her to you. If you do, you'll remember this post and what I told you!!
I really didn't like this class. Professor Logan is a great teacher, but she's very strict about work. Quizzes and notes is all we did, no projects or presentations. The only interesting thing is watching documentaries. Other than that, her quizzes & exam questions are very tricky so always pay close attention. I wouldnt recommend her to anyone.
She lays everything out for you from the beginning, she is very clear with notes and it translates exactly in the quizzes and tests. Your grade is up to you just read what she tells you.She is amazing and i enjoyed her class. I got a high B and it was 100% a reflection of my effort
This was not one of my favorite classes. The teacher tells you at the begging exactly what is expected of you. The lectures seem to go on forever, but she does tell you exactly what to study but its a lot of work.
She is a quintessential organized college professor that goes by the book. Taking notes, as well as reading the textbook and doing well on tests and quizzes are your only hope for survival because there is little to no graded classwork. Luckily, she gives amazing outlines before tests and if you do poorly, that's your fault. Highly recommend her.
Good teacher boring class! We had a quiz almost every class on the chapters from the textbook which were kind of hard because you never know what kind of questions she was going to ask. She is not lenient when it comes to work especially her exams
Good professor! But, will need lots of computer ink and paper cuz some assignments have to be printed out. 2 exams; perfect attendance exempts the final. 4 written papers and 5 online quizzes. Very doable class but have to put forth the work load!
A very good professor. She's a bit tough, but it's worth it in the long run. If you get perfect attendance, you do not have to take the final exam. She loves essay questions, so be prepared to write when its exam time. If you're in class everyday, you shouldn't have a problem with the quizzes and exams. Quizzes are open notes, but exams aren't
Professor Logan is fun, but she means business. History is her thing, and she presents it clearly with enthusiasm.
Professor Logan is very good at what she does. Her tests are all multiple choice. She knows a lot about history and is a great help to me.
She is an Awesome professor. You will enjoy this class. It is so easy....
Are you kidding me! She is so easy and her class was so easily done. I'm talking about simple as ABC. Took her last summer and we had a picnic. I'm talking about multiple choice & essay questions.she been teaching for seven years now and she is so bright but obvious. Just borrow a book and a good copy of the constitution and you will make a smoothA
She uses mcgraw-hills learnsmart modules. Perfect attendance no final. Huge project at the end. Tests are multiple choice and she provides study guides. Funny, interesting, and class flies by because she includes videos and group activities with the lectures.
Well, while I find Professor Logan extremely good looking, she is also an excellent teacher. She is extremely organized, she makes it clear what she wants.SUGGESTION! DO THE LEARNSMART MODULES!They're not that bad and make a huge impact on grades. Good Balanced class. Not too difficult. No pop quizzes. 1 to 2 hours study time before an exam.
I highly recommend taking ANY course with this professor.
Prof Logan is an awesome instructor. No final if you are in every class!! Teaches material so it is not boring and adds video's and in class group work to break up monotony.Pay attention, do the hw and take some notes and you will do fine!! Would take her again if I needed any additional hist classes!!
Great Professor IF you want to work. Her tests are not easy so study, and there is also a very big project at the end. I did pretty good in this course so if you're looking for a professor who loves what they do and will challenge you she is a great one to take!
Very nice and down to earth teacher. She's relevant and makes learning history fun. She knows a lot, and the class isn't too hard. Just a few tests and a project. Just follow the study guides and pay attention in class and you'll do good!
This is not an easy class, but its not hard either. The online quiz and test are not hard at all, the projects in the other hand are a little harder but manageable. HER peeve is grammar, she will hit you on your projects for grammar keep this in mind when taking Her class. I would take her again for AMH2070 or LAH2000
I WOULD NOT TAKE HER EVER AGAIN! You are only allowed to miss one class, DO not be late to her class no more than5 minutes but she don't ever get there until class time! The 1st test is 100 points then the other two go up to 200 points which is so stupid. And the project SHE IS VERY PICKY! your grades are based off TEST, PROJECT AND ONLINE STUFF!
Prof is awesome. Lectures the material, goes over power points thoroughly and makes it fun and interesting. You do some online work and a project. Three exams and you can be exempt from the final if you just come to class! Easy to make an A if you do the work, study, and make an effort.
She is an awesome professor! She gives you 10 online quizzes from reading select chapters, a 2-part project and 3 tests (with no final IF you attend class). I'm not saying she's easy; I aced everything EXCEPT her tests and I was struggling to pass. Make sure you study! Overall, I would still recommend her though.
She is a good clear professor. It wasn't easy nor hard. She always had a study guide before test. If you have near prefect attendance you get a 100 on the final. Be prepared to keep up with the syllabus. There are online assignments that are auto 100 if you do them but she absolutely will not remind you of them. Overall, I would take her again.
I thought this professor was fantastic!. She is pretty clear on what she expects. This was a 8 week course and im not going to lie it was pretty demanding but it was manageable. Do the work and you will be fine.
She is very fair. If you do what she tells you to than you will do well.
She's a great professor and is very passionate about her work. I definitely recommend taking her class. If you don't miss a class you'll also be exempt from the final.
She is more than willing to answer any questions. She goes into great detail with each topic. And if you don't miss any classes, No final exam!
She gets excited about talking about history
I goofed off with assignments but did what was requested. I loved her lectures. Her packets are well organized. Just answer the questions off of the videos you watch. She can be a little inflexible but not too bad. If you have perfect attendance, you get out of the final (and get full credit for it).
She makes History a lot more interesting that I thought it would be.. She really knows what she is talking about, and can answer pretty much any, and all questions you may have. She is a fabulous professor and would recommend her to anyone :
I thought this class would be like my last, which was very boring but after a week, I found this class interesting. She presents the lectures with power points and a little fun facts every now and then. She gives instructions that are clear cut so as long as you follow them, you'll do fine. I recommend her HIGHLY.
Professor Logan is awesome. She seriously is one of the best teachers I've ever had. Do your work and listen and take noted and you'll pass with a breeze. She's very helpful with anything you don't understand and her lectures are fun and aren't boring.
Good lecturer. Very knowledgable with amazing stories to tell. She gives a packet to follow for class and gives a review sheet before each test. She offers extra credit by visiting an approved site. Plus, if you don't have more than one absense then you get to stay away for the final and get FULL credit. Class research projects are clearly defined
She is an amazing professor. I really enjoy her lectures. I wish all my classes were as entertaining as hers. She is a tough grader but I think as long as you try, you can get the A. You have to do the work in order to pass though. It isn't a skate course. If you do all the assignments you shouldn't have any reason to fail!
I did not like her because she would discuss things going on in that time frame like how the living was and the inventions etc but the tests and quizzes would be over the wars and governments. Also her voice is very annoying.
The quizzes and project was very easy even though the quiz take a couple hours to do she give you to tries on the quiz its easy the exams are tough it's very tricky but if you make A's and B's on your quizzes and projects you will still pass remember there is on 4 exams if you come to class everyday you are exempt from it and you will get 100
professor logan is a great teacher I was afraid that I wouldn't do well because I hate history I never understood it but I just finished the course with a B she gives out extra credit and if you come to class do not worry about a final.
Professor Logan is an amazing teacher, her lectures are interesting and the work is easy. Pay attention and take notes and you will for sure pass! She's one of the best teachers I've ever had and this is the second time I've taken her! I highly recommend taking her class!
Took the online class with professor Logan and it was amazing. 8 weeks, discussion almost every week, not hard..., and a mini test at the end of each chapter consisting of 10 questions. gives 40 points extra credit if you need it and is willing to round your grade at the end of the course if need be, definitely recommend it and would take it again.
Professor Logan is passionate about topic & makes it interesting! Easy reading quizzes boost grade, she gives you study guides for the exam, power points on blackboard, & she gives extra credit! You will need to study to to well on exam; be sure to take notes during lectures as well. She never makes you feel stupid for asking Qs! Enjoyable class!
I dread going to her class, but she's not a bad teacher. She smiles A LOT, and she's willing to help if you just ask her. She does a lot of group participation type work, so it would be best to sit by people you actually like. If you zone out while she's teaching, you'll miss A LOT of notes which are EXTREMELY NECESSARY for you to pass.
You have to do the study guides if you want to pass her tests, and make sure to pay attention during lectures and the films she shows. She's a nice professor and gives help if you need it but you have to work for your grade.
I've taken Logan for both my history classes and she's honestly one of my favorite teachers. She makes history really interesting and doesn't just go over the same boring things you learned in high school. She lays out very clearly everything you have to do to get an A, and gives a lot of extra cred if you miss something. Fantastic teacher!
One of the best professors I've ever had. She honestly wants the best for all of her students and makes sure to thoroughly teach ever section. GREAT CLASS/PROFESSOR, I would recommend to anyone.
The class was very structured, a quiz every week and a three part course project and three tests. If you have perfect attendance she doesn't make you take the final either. She gives examples for the project and gives helpful study guides for each test. You have to work for your grade in the class but she's also there to help you.
This class is an easy pass. There are quizzes on blackboard once a week, and four take-home essay tests. If you only miss one day of class you are exempt from the final exam. Only complaint is that you can't really work ahead because the tests are given out only about a week before it's due. I'd take her again, she's a great professor!
Mrs. Logan knows her subjects. I have taken extra classes just to learn from her. She assigns papers but allows you to turn in a rough draft and if you use her feedback you will do great.
Dana Logan is an awesome professor! She is very knowledgeable and great to deal with. She is very clear on what she wants and a fair grader. Enjoyed talking to her as she is just a nice lady. I definitely recommend her.
Professor Logan was amazing. She makes her syllabus clear and concise. As long as you participate in the discussions boards with a good posting, read the material for the posting and the quizzes, take your time with the course project, you will receive an "A" in the class. I highly recommend professor Logan for AMH 2010.
Powerpoints, readings, quizzes all on blackboard. One big proposal & research paper. Her lectures are informative & study guides are helpful. SHOW UP TO CLASS so you don't have the final. Make sure to jot down key notes she writes on the board. All around interesting and cool person so you wont be bored and don't be afraid to ask question too!
She is the best history teacher. She offers extra credit. I thought I would fail my research paper but she was really lenient. Her study guides are helpful because that is literally your test but read your readings again because she adds some few questions. She makes the fun class and interesting. If you go to her class every day, NO FINAL EXAM!!
She was great! If you fail this class then you didnt try, and this class is very easy. She is a fair grader, one weekly quiz which is open book or she gives you the reading. 4 test and if you come everyday then no final! All you have to do is come to class, copy whatever notes on the board and do the quizes. The study guide resembles the test too!
Took her for AMH2010 & AMH2070 attendance isn't mandatory but one or no absences exempts you from the final. Grades tough on grammar. Also, if your unsure about passing i recommend taking her quizzes; the key to that, is to open the quiz, copy & past it in a word doc & as you read the reading, the answers to the quiz are in order. DO EXTRA CREDIT!
She is the best history teacher I have ever had! I learned so much and would definitely take her again for any history course. I took AMH2020 and AMH2070; made an "A" in both. If you miss one class or less then your exempt from the final. Also, DO THE EXTRA CREDIT! Great teacher!
Tough grader. Doesn't matter if you follow the rubric, she gives you a poor grade anyways and her reasons aren't clearly defined. She doesn't seem to want to see students succeed, which is sad. She's very well versed in her area and an intelligent woman- but do yourself a favor and avoid this professor. (Online student).
Took professor Logan for an 8 week online course this semester. My advice would be to not take this 8 week class if you are a full time student juggling other classes. She is a tough grader and is particular about grammar usage. Discussion post must be in MLA format with cited reading and on time for full credit.
Professor Logan is the most passionate professor I've ever met. She loves her job and loves history. She makes history fun and interesting. She doesn't teach just the same stuff everyone has heard of growing up, she gives almost all new interesting information and makes learning really enjoyable. There are some long at home quizzes but NO textbook!
Amazing lecturer! Actually knows what she's teaching and enjoys the subject. Doesn't use a textbook but has sections you need to read. Can take quizzes twice, highest grade goes in so take advantage and they're straight from readings. Tough grader with the only paper you have to do. Tests are hard to get an A on. Do extra credit
One of the best history profs I have ever had.
Very good professor. She has lots to read, but has it all kept very neat for you. Im taking a second history class with her next term. Great professor!
Lots of lectures but she is good at giving them. She is very passionate about history and is great at teaching it. There is a lot of reading, but how else are you going to learn the material? She shows lots of videos as well. I would definitely take this professor again.
Professor Logan is one of the best professors at FSCJ. She is funny and excited about her work. No textbook is required but take very good notes during the lectures. All work is explained clearly on what she expects and she grades very fairly. Easy class if you just do the work and take good notes. Take her!!!
Professor Logan has been one of my favorites at FSCJ. She teaches a lecture based lesson, but she's absolutely amazing at it and makes everything interesting. Her outlooks and view points are also very unbiased when talking about American History and I learned things I had never learned before! Awesome professor.
Professor Logan is the best, I would take her again in a heartbeat for any class. She is intelligent, respectful, kind, and fair. If you do your work on time and put in the effort, it's not a hard class.
Solid Professor. You can tell she cares for her subject and for her students. If you don't miss more than one class you are exempt from the final. Work is pretty straightforward. Read material, answer questions, discussion boards, etc.
I really liked her a lot. She was quick to email me back if I had any questions. The syllabus was straight forward. I took her in the 7 week class and got an A. Just book work and discussion boards weekly.
Professor Logan is probably the best history Professor in FSCJ. Gives you historical documentaries to watch and answer questions. She gives you enough extra credit if you are struggling. The key to getting an A is just watching the films and reading the documents carefully. Make sure to have at least 2-3 hrs on your hand. I learned alot. Must take.
The professor overall was decent. She was a tough grader in terms of Discussion. she wants details and elaboration, and it was difficult. There was three exams, and the forth is exempt if you did not miss more than one day. Also, there was 4 discussions and a presentation. This class is not easy and you must study in order to get A. Not Easy@all
Take plenty of notes during and outside of class. Class was hybrid so the homework and tests were due online. I learned so much in this class! Ive never liked a class so much that I discussed it regularly outside of class. Makes learning easy
A very engaging and fair professor. She's very knowledgeable and passionate about US history! A couple of lengthy writing assignments with relatively strict criteria, but she's willing to help you out and point you in the right direction during office hours. No textbook, she provides readings. Quiz questions come directly from readings, not hard.
I took her online for summer 2020 and I dont regret it. We did not meet virtually, but she did send weekly emails on what the assignments were. She is very nice and easily accessible by email. She gave until every Sunday (11:59pm) to have all assignments done. It is a lot of reading, but its history! She gave GREAT feedback on writing assignments
Professor Logan is discouraging. Assignments took over 3 hours; this doesnt include the time it took to read the chapters. Assignments were posed as 45 questions however, those were levels. You had to answer 10-15 questions to move to the next level. Time consuming and unrealistic.
Dont take her if you dont want to drown in stress. Her class lectures are everything. There is no book and the exams are on the lectures and the homework readings (which are always super long). Its super hard to make a good grade with her.
Really great professor, took her AMH 2020 and 2070 - loves what she is teaching about and it shows. No late assignments allowed.
Professor Logan is a great history teacher. Her class is a live online class. Although I didn't like the fact that it was online and we had to participate it was not that bad. She interacts with the students. Whenever you need help she will always be available to respond.
Professor Logan is a solid choice for a history professor. Her class is about the normal level of difficulty. I took her for two classes and there were group projects in each. Her lectures are informative, but can get boring sometimes. There is no textbook required. She provides reading articles. Thoroughly fill out the exam study guides!
I took a class with Professor Logan a year ago and I loved her class. She was so informative and detailed. I learned more about Florida in one semester in her class than I have in my entire 20+ years living in Florida. There is a lot of materials to cover and her lectures are very important but if you do the work, you should have no issues.
I've taken her 3 times, for US History 1 & 2, and for History of Florida. She is very clear on how things are set up. I did take her all through of pandemic so obviously things were online, but apparently she normally has her exams online and they're all open book. Definitely take her! I hope she has a 4th class for me to take.
Took professor logan for AMH2010 online, by far one of the worst professors I have ever had. Horrible grader, cant site anything including the text even though she wants you to use the text. So much work and writing heavy, expects you to only worry about her class. Would not recommend taking her at all!
I took her class this year for AMH2010 she was such a good teacher. She really took her time to explain the material and her notes where really amazing and easy to follow and they really help on her exams.
I've never had to work so hard for a C in my life. She is super kind and truly cares about her students and them learning history, but she is a very hard grader. I didn't do too much extra credit because there was a lot of work for this class to begin with so it was just overwhelming for me. Be prepared to work really hard to get your grade.
Professor Logan is really passionate about her work. She explains the material thoroughly. In order to pass her class you will need to read the assignments she give as they will help you with the quizzes she assigns. Showing up to class for lecture is key in order to understand the subject. She assigns 3 tests, quizzes and extra credit.
Professor Logan is a great teacher to have. I had a hybrid 7 week course so we condensed tons of info but the things I learned were extremely interesting. I never found any of her lectures boring but there were 2 or 3 quizzes a week with a reading assignment. There were no tests, nor papers. We saw a few films and learned about supreme court cases.
This was my first class in over 30 years and I loved it. Professor Logan gives clear instructions and great feedback. She answers any questions efficiently and allows for extra credit opportunities which I believe rewards hard work. I took the accelerated online class which required lots of reading but I expected that. Great class!
I highly recommend this professor. She is extremely fair, very clear on expectations. She made learning history super interesting. I truly learned quite a bit from this class. Again highly highly recommend her.
One of my favorite professors. She is very patient and understanding. Her class is easy as long as you show up and do the work.
Professor Logan is AMAZING she is very helpful and he teaching style is great. Possibly my best history class ever. Taking another class of hers this semester. If you get the chance to join her classes, do it .
Excellent professor, this was my second class with professor Logan and it was very informative, fun and easy. There is a lot of group work in class so you are not just sitting in class with your face in a book or laptop. The content is rough but what part of American history isnt? Definitely recommend this professor.
Incredibly boring class with an obvious agenda. If I didn't have to take this class required by the state of florida, I wouldn't. There's really no point of even having a professor since all you do is Perusall and quizzes from a text book. It's not a hard class but just a class you wait till the last minute to do.
All assignments are open book. The class is just an excessive amount of busy work. Professor is friendly, but has an agenda. If you do not pander to it well enough she will dock you points for it. CTRL+F test, meet the requirements for Perusall assignments, and pander to her ideologies in your essays, and you will make an A in this class.
pretty good alot of busy work tho
There is a lot of material that is graded and you can rack up a lot of points. The home work itself is not bad and she is a great lecturer and is very thorough. She is kind and cares for her students. The test are open book (timed) and the quizzes are also open book and are not timed. Attendance does matter as you lose points
Her lectures are engaging and she's very nice. Lots of busy work. None of the work is hard, just tedious. Go to class because you'll lose points on your overall grade if you skip. As long as you go to class and do all the work, you'll be fine. Beware though - she teaches with a very obvious agenda even though she claims otherwise.
On top of every positive comment here (and I agree with them all), Professor Logan is also compassionate and accommodating. My father became ill and passed away in the middle of the term. I simply don't have enough room in this comment to truly express how appreciative I am of the way Professor Logan handled the situation. She's a wonderful person.
Firstly, Prof. Logan is awesome. She makes history fun. I enjoyed her lectures. The in person class is based mostly on lectures and in class notes. Also bonus extra credit if uori group wins the pop quizzes. (Just for fun if not). The Homework consist of quizzes and interactive readings. This class is great GPA booster if you just do your homework.
I love Professor Logan! There is work every week, but honestly, I found it so easy. Her courses are hybrid or online so it makes sense there would be more work. For the tests, she tells you everything you need to know. They're online and you're allowed to use your notes. I took her for every course I could. She's passionate about history!
she does alot of perusall discussions, quizzes and homework (one or both due every week), i did the hybrid class and her lessons are very straightforward she tells you what you have to know, midterm and finals where both open notes and online. shes funny too! she does a good job at preparing you for the mandatory state goverment exam
Professor Logan's AMH2020 class has a lot of busy work, but the material is manageable. The open-book tests and quizzes make it easier, and Unstuck ai can be a helpful study tool. Attendance is mandatory, so engage in class for the best results.
I feel like yes I passed this class but her teaching style just wasn't skillful. Majority of the times im lost because all she does is write on the board a key sentence or word and docent explain why she wrote it, she mostly talked and the perusals were so boring and consist of long reading where we would have to spend a long time for full points.
Her written assignments are not long and very doable when reading the textbook. She uses the Perusall readings too, which are honestly much easier than just reading textbooks. Weekly quizzes that were easy and could be retaken 1x. Offered a few extra credit opportunities. I would take her course again any day. She also provides help for the FCLE.
Easy workload and very manageable except for grading on reflection assignments. While I thank her for expecting the best of us, this isn't a writing class, Logan was more worried about grammar than history content and wasn't shy to leave multiple snarky comments. Other than that great professor with easy workload, would take again.
Overall, this class was fairly easy other than her harsh grading. I submitted my assignment and recieved half credit because of reasons that did not match my work at all. Her comments on my work were contradictory, so the smart remarks provided no help at all. This was done to me along with many other peers, so I would not take her again.
This class was pretty homework heavy, be prepared for a lot. However, Professor Logan gives you all of the information you need to pass. She also really prepares you for the Civic Literacy Exam which was sooo helpful!
I took African American History with Professor Logan. I highly recommend taking this course with her. She is knowledgeable and gives tons of extra credit. This course should be mandated in all colleges.
I took Professor Logan for AMH2093 and it was a wonderful class. I learned so much from this course and in terms of workload, it was very easy-going. No research papers, no essays, and no final. Just participate and earn credit. Unfortunately, they are removing this course from Gen Ed requirements, so PLEASE consider taking it as an elective!
Although attendance is not mandatory, there will be a 10-question quiz in each class, so missing class is detrimental to your grade. There is also a somewhat hefty midterm and final. This wasn't the worst class, but her lectures are all over the place, so notes get confusing.
She gives a 10 question quiz every class, but you get terms ahead of time and can use notes. The lectures are organized and build on the homework. It's a hybrid class so you will have a few hours of work on your own each week. Study guides provided for midterm and final. If you do the homework, you'll pass—and getting an A is possible.
Don't take Logan if you plan to sleep through class or just rely on AI. She expects participation, and the group work in class actually makes you think. She explains course content in a way that make sense and review days help a lot. Great prep for the civic literacy exam. You'll actually learn and stay engaged
Thought I was gonna dread taking this elective, but it actually turned interesting. Have a pen and paper ready because you'll be taking notes in every class. She doesn't get too technical while teaching history, which what I think kept students' attention.
I loved this class and in the past, I have disliked history classes the most. The Perusall assignments were engaging and helped me with knowing the material we were learning about. Tests are proctored but you are allowed 2 pages of notes to use. Professor Logan gives quite a few extra credit opportunities. This was an easy and great class!
I throughly enjoyed Professor Logan's American History class. She kept an online class very engaging and interesting through videos, podcasts, and special reading materials. The reading was heavy at times but manageable. All terms for wuiz
Quizzes and tests are all open note and the professor is very transparent about what the content will be on them. Attendance itself isn't graded but is required to take many of the quizzes and to take notes on content that will be on the exams. She has many opportunities for extra credit. There are group assignments; they are simple but engaging.
There is a lot of reading that you need to do but the class is easy enough to pass. The perusall assignments kinda got annoying, after a while it started to feel like it was taking more and more to actually get a good grade since they are automatically graded.
She is an amazing teacher. I hate history but she made it so engaging. The online group discussions made the readings more fun and interesting. She does require two proctored exams but she allows you to use notes on them. She also offers extra credit. Make sure you take notes on what she asks, it will help you on the exam. Take her class.
