Had him in a small class, he was very helpful, very generous in grading

Very smart and a very nice guy, the essays are hard but if you show him the drafts and ask questions you'll get an A. Plus you get to rewrite one of the essays in the end of the semester and he'll count the higher grade.

I think Bender was a great teacher. He picks favorites, but if you are one of them, then you're in luck. Just do what he wants, and visit during office hours.

He's a really sweet guy and eager to help. Young and still seems to enjoy teaching. Participation and enthusiasm is key to your grade.

He is a great techer if you are willing to work. He doesn't give midterms you only have to write 3 essays. He is an excellent teacher, and if you take writing and organization seriously this is the course for you. I learn how to write well in his classes.

Dr. Bender is an awesome prof. He is very interesting and will never bore you in his class. I def reccommend him for any kind of eng class. I wish he taught 212 because I would definitly take him again!!

I had Bender for an upper 300 level Lit course and his class was a breeze. All you have are three papers and these extremely easy quizzes. If you attend class and those quizzes are easy. The papers are easy if you go to him and get help, he's a nice understanding man.

I thought he was great and I have to be dragged kicking and screaming to any english course. He gave freely of his time and he was down to earth.

I thought his class was cool. I'm really not the analytical type, but his class made me think outside the box. He seems to like you to participate often, so my advice would be to those thinking of taking him, read up on the texts and participate often. If you need help just ask him, he was nice.

Great teacher!! He is so understanding and he really just wants to get to know everyone in the class. His tests were a piece of cake as long as you read the plays. He would give us the answers to the questions that would be on the quizzes 2 days before the quiz. Greatest teacher I have had at Pace..plus there is something so sexy about him! :)

He is so chill! When you go to his office he is more than willing to help u out. He is also understanding, so if you talk to him and he sees you're trying, you will get an A!

Easy!!! (word lit)You take four quizes, which you have all the answers to. Midterm is paper and final you have the answers to, but you have to find them on your own.

Professor Bender is the greatest and whoever thinks the opposite needs to get their heads checked! He is so sweet and understanding. He teaches class like a real professor does...there are too many college students who dont deserve to be in college and he puts them in their place...it's about time a professor stands up to slackers! :)

He is very understanding and willing to work with you. His classes are usually ridiculously easy quizzes (b/c he gives you the answers) and three papers. You HAVE to talk to him about the papers to make sure you are on track, when you do, then you're golden! Take him!!!

Dr. Bender is the man!!! he is so easy going, and understanding. His quizzes are easy. Essays aren't bad, just make sure you are clear with his instructions!!! He will explain anything and everything until you understand it!!!

I've found Prof. Bender to be an excellent teacher so far, he's been able to reform and strengthen my writing style tremendously over the course of only a few months. His classes have a tendency to drag occasionally, and he may be a tad quirky, but the education he provides is accessible and enlightening. Highly recommended.

It was a mandatory class and I got a good grade. The key to success is to attend and participate in every class and stop by his office for questions from time to time. He is happy to help and interesting to talk to.

Great teacher. LOGIN TWICE A WEEK. HW/participation is blackboard posts and these posts are basically research for your essays. Its an online course. You need to be able to stay on top of you work. Set aside alotted times for this class just like any online course. Follow instructions, do the required work and this class will be enjoyable and easy.

A good professor. Attend every class and stop by his office for questions. As far as you stay the course and do the work you'll be for fine.

His class is manageable and not super hard if you're organized. If you submit an assignment late YOU WILL FAIL THE CLASS. He is super nice just follow the directions. Most of the low reviews are from people who never attended class or submitted assignments and thus failed. If you're a student who wants to succeed you will succeed in the class.

I really don't understand why Prof. Bender gets such a bad rep. Personally, I loved his class and adored him as a professor, but I also did take his class online and async as a Classical and Medieval Studies minor. He even inspired me to pursue medieval studies for grad school. Just do the work thoughtfully and you'll do fine!
