Everyone is rippin on Mr. Benton, but it's probably bc no one ever gives him a chance. His teaching method is a bit different, but he is totally willing to help!! I think is he great, and with extra help he actually made me understand trig. do the review and you will pass the tests! he also interacts with students and cares!!

You take five tests (16% each) that are 80% of the total grade, homework is 15% of the total grade and quizzes are 5% of the total grade Tests are easy he gives you credit for trying and showing work even if you get the answer wrong. If you turn the homework in you get full credit. Take college algebra before this class and learn to use a TI-83/84!

he understands the material very well. homework is online, and very dull. he does a test reviews before each test, and the test is almost exactly the same as the review. hes willing to help with any problem you may have. although attendance doesn't affect your grade, its extremely helpful if you go. its college, you have to put some time in studyin

Great teacher for pre-calc if your not a lazy student who rather be texting then writing lecture notes. Took a bit to get used to his method of teaching but I learned a lot especially not I am in calc

Daniel is great his class is easy.He explains the material well. He also has some great jokes. Just show up to class and do the work.

I struggled all through high school with math classes, but did very well In Mr. Bentons. I thought he was a fun teacher who knew what he was talking about. Definately would recommend this class...

Benton is great! I can see how some would say he has problems relating, but after one semester of the same subject with a teacher who could barely speak the english language, he's WORLDS better. I highly recommend him for college algebra, he breaks it down and shows you the easy ways to get the job done.

Benton is an excellent teacher! I've always had trouble with math, and his class surely helpes me TONS. He shows you step-by-step how to solve a problem, he evens shows different approcaches to a problem too! He is really helpful and clear. As long as you pay attention and take good notes, then you'll score an A.

I can see how his teaching style could be considered confusing, but just ask and he'll show a different way to go about solving the problem. If you are having a problem with something just say "I don't understand" and he will help you. Great for trig.

Professor Benton is a great teacher and very understanding. I had a flat tire and emailed him. the next week he still took up all my missing work. His teaching technique i like he teaches the hard stuff first so you can understand the easy stuff easier. Overall great sense of humor and not boring

Go class on time, do homework questions. Tests very close with homeworks, easy get A. Sometime he go so fast, just stop him ask questions. You don't have to read textbook.

Great Prof. Always helped when needed. Would work with you if you missed a test or homework. Didn't focus a lot on folders as long as you got the homework done.

Very good at explaining things. Very funny and interesting. A lot of Star Wars talk. Need to understand the math completely in order to pass tests. Do not need textbooks, but must do online homeworks on time!

Very easy class, even for someone who does not like math. He will work any problem you need and his test are exactly like the reviews and very straightforward.

this was my 3rd time taking algebra and he made it so easy. explained everything very well. im usually bad at math but he helped me understand it.

He's very intelligent and moves quickly, but he is always more than willing to give extra attention to students when they ask. This is a class you will need to attend and try for, but if you try you will learn a lot. It's tough material, so maybe not a good choice for the lazy or stupid.

He is very knowledgeable when it comes to math. He is more than willing to help and explain more if you ask him to. Sometimes he may not explain things we'll all you have to do is ask and he will show alternate explanations. I do not recommend missing this class, falling behind is easy. Mainly used online book

Mr. Benton's class was super easy. Just keep up with the homework and come to class and you will be fine. He is more than willing to help if you have questions.

Good professor, very approachable (he will even extend due dates for assignments if asked). He goes over the information clear, and he makes he practically gives you the test to review. I am also fresh out of high school so I have primitive knowledge of the subject.

BEST teacher ever! SUPER EASY class. Make sure you put in the effort to do homework assignments, quizzes and memorize study guide. Study guide is exactly like the Test. No textbook needed. All grades posted on Mymathlab.

Good professor, he goes really fast so it's kind of hard to follow him sometimes. But he was funny and was very helpful if you needed help outside the class or right after class. Study guides are basically the test so study those well!

Benton is one of the best teachers I've had and really helped me to foster a love for math. He can be "slightly" scatter-brained, but offers tons of time to help students in his office, or on the white boards in the math lab!

Hes good at what he does and if you pay attention, the class will be easy to pass. He does give a bunch of homework, but its somewhat easy. Missing his class will bring your grade down a bit though.

Prof Benton is the best math teacher I have ever had. I have tried to take and pass this College Alg class 3 other times and dropped it all 3 times because i wasn't going to pass. I'm now making a high A with 3 weeks left and will finish the class with an A for sure. Do all the homework and ask any questions and he will help you figure this stuff o

His class is full of in class assignments that are pre-cursors for the test. If you dont do these assignments, you wont know how the test is formatted. We took practice tests the week before and they were identical to the real exams. Go to class! He doesnt lecture much and makes you work with your peers, which was just fine. Take this class!

He truly cared and it was very obvious. There is quite a bit of work but it's all very manageable and easy in fact. This was my first college class and I don't regret it, I enjoyed all of it and would take his class again.

Math's always been difficult for me; I was dreading this class. It was 100% online and Prof. Benton responded quickly when asked for help. Each section had growth mindset activities to help create and maintain a positive attitude about math. You realize through these that you're NOT the only one who struggles. Highly recommend this professor.

I did rent out a textbook but I do not believe you will need to. Benton does a great job in providing resources for students to learn the topics, on his Moodle Slides. Sometimes I felt like there were a lot of problems but nothing compared to high school assignments. He is always trying to tell his students to reach out to him. He wants to help!

Probably the most non-stressful, most helpful math class I've ever taken. If you don't take this class for your math credit, then you're doing college all wrong. I highly recommend this class.

I took Calculus 1 online for an 8 week course. It has been easiest math class I have ever taken. He responds so fast to emails too. If you're wanting to do an 8 week course and this class is a requirement for you, take his course!

His functions and modeling class is amazing, even if you struggled at math in high school like I did. He responds to emails promptly and gives frequent notices about assignments and tests. There is no reason to do badly in his class unless you aren't trying.

This is my first semester in college and out of all my teachers I feel as if he cares the most. I feel like I can go to him for any questions. I also think he's really funny and enjoy the conversations. I will admit he's got a different way of teaching but if you follow instructions you will learn instead of just getting a grade.

The people saying "had to teach myself" did not read the hawkes lessons or read the feedback that professor Benton gives you if you get a question wrong. Professor Benton gives you multiple attempts to get the questions right. In other math classes I have taken, if you get it wrong, you get that grade. He emphasizes if you need help to contact him.

Highly recommend, I have always struggled with anything math related but Professor Benton was very quick to answer any questions and was always helpful. He is very understanding with assignments as well. There is a good amount of work, but it is spaced out very well so as long as you are participating, you should do just fine!
