Dr. Bergman is pretty much the hottest male teacher I have ever had. Besides him being AMAZINGLY good looking he is an awesome person. Very laid-back and patient. The quizzes for 291 were standardized and he gave us pretty good clues as to what was on there. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN.. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
This is a hard class, but Dr. Bergman does a great job. If a lot of people miss a question on the exams he throws it out. He is very approachable if you need extra help. His good looks don't hurt either :)
He was very helpful and very clear on what he expected you to know. His test were kind of challenging, but as long as you reviewed the notes and understood the lecture, you'll do good. He is almost always availble to answer your questions, he know's his stuff, and gives easy extra credit. One of the best profs that I've had here.
Dr. Bergman does an outstanding job with this difficult class. The material is challenging, but he presents it in a manner that makes it very understandable. His exams are challenging, but fair. Take him if you can, I highly recommend him.
TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN. One of the best teachers I've ever had at GV. Extreemly helpful, down to earth, and his lectures are fun. He uses gret analogies and fun vidoe clips to change things up, help you learn, and keep your interest. Plus, he's not bad to look at. ;)
Very difficult. Did not like.
Great Prof! Very Helpful!
Okay teacher. I found the book extremely helpful in clarifying a lot of what he lectured on. Exam Q&As also lacked clarity in verbage - made it hard to answer correctly...
Obviously Human Physiology is a challenging subject, but Dr. Bergman makes it understandable and fun. His exam averages are pretty high and he throws out questions that are unclear. I really enjoyed him as a professor.
Dr. Bergman is one of, if not the best professor that I have had at GVSU. Physiology is a difficult course, but Dr. B present the material well and is very willing to help students outside of class time to further understand the material. I highly recommend taking Dr. Bergman.
Very helpful and will sometimes add points to a test if you visit him during office hours and go over it with him. Uses interesting examples (Stuff on YouTube, The Simpsons, etc) to illustrate points.
I'm not a science major, but I found this class to be much more interesting than I ever thought possible. The class can be a bit challenging, but Dr. Bergman made it interesting and fun. Highly recommend taking his class.
Professor Bergman is a really nice guy. His quizzes are generally easy, relating more to the anatomy and the tests on applying physiology. When he says know how to apply the concept, KNOW application of it. His tests are worded funny but ask him questions during the exam and he will ususally restate it so that you can understsand it.
I thought Bergman was mediocre. Many girls thought he was thought, but Im a guy and didnt think that helped his teaching. He is pretty boring along with the subject, but he does try to spice it up with pop culture and sport references which I liked. My problem is that there are 8 exams for one class which i thot was very stupid
Being his first time teaching the class he did an awesome job. He used references from movies like Youtube and makes it easier to relate it to other things in the real world. You have to put some serious study time in to do well though but I think that has to do with any anatomy class you'd take.
I absolutely loved his class and learned a ton. He really teaches the material so you can understand it. Take him if you can.
LOVED this professor! Did a great job explaining everything. Got A's on every exam. Just study his power point slides and you'll be fine. Go to his class though because his slides are fill in the blank while he is lecturing.
Good quality professor. Memorize notes and you will do fine on exams. The best way to succeed is to slave over your notes for the exams. No homework other than studying. Quizzes are relatively easy if you come to class and are coherent. Bonus question is offered on every quiz and exam. Tough course, good professor, I would suggest taking him.
Bergman rocks! His class is interesting and entertaining. I learned a lot more than I ever expected.
Very helpful prof! Makes the material undstandable and interesting. Bergman is willing to work with you if you don't understand something or need extra help! Take Bergman if you can!
Read the notes. Reread the notes. Attend class and you'll do fine. Great prof, though sadly he doesn't answer emails (I sent him several during the semester). Good teacher though, definitely recommended.
Very helpful prof. He was outstanding at explaining lab material and connecting it to lecture. Considering all of the stuff Bergman had going this summer (baby, surgeries, etc), he was still there to help much more than I expected.
I had this class once before with another professor and didn't like it, but this time with Dr. B I felt I really learned the material. He expects you to learn the material well enough to apply what you've learned on exam day, so just don't memorize stuff. Tough but fair teacher, plus his classes were fun and interesting.
If you want to learn something in this subject, take 290 with Dr. Bergman. Great teacher and great class.
Great guy! Had him for lab and wish I could've had him for lecture. He's tough but super nice and approachable which makes all the difference to me especially with a tough subject like this. I learned way more from him than I ever did with my lecture prof.
Dr. B's capstone was fun. We did a series of case studies, which was cool and a nice practical application of what I've learned at GVSU. Good class. He graded participation in class, our presentations and a paper at the end.
He just READS his power point slides, doesn't explain physiology at all, but the exams are all about understanding physiology. The test will also have questions about something he never mentioned in class. I truly would not recomend him, I have nothing against him, he might be a smart guy, but his teaching sucks big time...
I've heard he's good for lab, but I had him for lecture and it was bad. Exam questions are just insane, however his teaching style would make you think that he would be little easier, bc he doesn't explain much. I would suggest to take someone else, otherwise expect tons and tons of material in very short period of time and veryTRICKY EXAM QUESTION
Dr. Bergman is one of the best instructors that I have had in over 120 credits of college. He is genuinely interested in the subject matter and his students. Always available for additional help outside of lecture. His exams are challenging but I thought very fair.
Great guy, good class.
This prof really seemed to care about his students. I liked him. His tests can be difficult, but I expected it for this class. The class averages were actually pretty good on the exams considering the difficulty. STUDY!
He tries to make boring material interesting. He loves his crayfish experiments and talks about them a lot... so it gets kind of boring. But, he's a nice guy and the class wasn't too bad. I had him for lecture only and he was always really cool. He'd give extra cred. sometimes when there weren't many people in class that day.
Awesome Prof. Taking 310 with Dr. Bergman was a lot of fun. His notes were excellent. The exams were tough, but the class averages were high.
Absolutely excellent prof. I was always entertained and learned a bunch in his class
fun guy makes class easy just go to class takes notes. i played phase ten on my ipod all semester and got an A-, just take notes as you go and then study
He is a great prof.
Good prof. Makes you think not just memorize. Fast paced. Put in the effort to really learn material - it will pay off later in more advanced courses.
If you have the chance, take Bergman for 290. He is outstanding. Lots of fun and a very good teacher.
I wish BMS would show who teaches their classes because Dr. B was great. His class is very challenging, but also very well taught. So if you ever know what section he's teaching, try to get in his class.
Great prof! Super helpful and encourages students to visit office hours. If you attend class, take notes, and study you will do well.
physiology's a hard course but dr. bergman makes the course more interesting and entertaining. uses fill in the blank notes, lots of youtube clips, very patient with students and grades fair on exams. dr. bergman = hottest male prof i've had at GVSU, which made the course more enjoyable and definitely want to take his other courses.
Love him, love him, love him! Greatest class at GVSU. His pictures and stories on pathophys are great. Learned a ton in his class so far and highly recommend.
Took over my biomed ethics course as an emergency replacement and I liked him a lot. Good guy and did a nice job in our class.
Great professor! Interesting and uses fun examples in class. Nice to look at too :) Definitely recommend this professor for BMS courses!
Not my favorite professor. He just kind of went through the motions, basically reading us the powerpoint in lecture.
No complaints here. I thought the class was challenging but was well taught. One of the better profs I've had in BMS.
GREAT PROF! 290 is a tough course and he expects you to apply what you learn, but he's great at teaching the material.
Absolutely great prof! Loved his lecture style. Get in his section if you can.
I'm currently taking medical phys in my MD program and let me say that the course is mainly review thanks to Dr. Bergman. His class always made so much sense, in fact he puts my med school prof to shame. Anyways, if your planning anything in the health professions, try to get in any of his classes, especially 290.
Best prof at GVSU. Cool guy and really really smart.
Just took patho with Dr. Bergman and really enjoyed his class. He recorded his lectures, which made it really nice when studying. He's funny and very approachable.
Very good prof! Clear and concise. His exams make you think. Just memorizing the facts won't help you much. I had him for both phys and patho...would highly recommend him.
I took Professor Bergman for BMS 290 and now have him again in BMS 310 and must say I love his classes. He knows so much and is fun to listen to as well. If you ever get the chance, I recommend taking a class with him.
He is amazing! I didnt read at all and did really well on all of the tests. He gives the powerpoints to be filled out and that is all you need to study. So funny and helpful. His looks make it a lot better too:)
Best prof I've ever had at GVSU. He will challenge you, yet be fair on exams. I was consistently amazed with what he knows in this class.
One of the best science professors I've ever had. He knows what he's talking about. His lecture notes are very clear and orderly, and the tests are very reasonable. Very helpful in office hours, so if you have a problem, talk to him.
Take this class with Bergman. He's not easy, but not impossible if you study.
I had Dr. Bergman for 291 this past winter. He was great! The quizzes and exams were extremely straight forward, and he was very clear and helpful when I asked for help on stuff. He also was a lenient grader on those long lab assignments. I think he understands how tormenting they were
Tests were hard but not impossible. I had to read the book in order to an A on his tests. The quizzes were nice because your lowest one was dropped. Overall, one of the best professor for this class.
Dr. Bergman is by far the best professor I have ever had here at grand valley. He really makes sure that you are actually learning the material and not just memorizing it. He does a great job in lecturing. Not just reading off of the powerpoint slides, but really explaining the material.
The class is a tough class but he does a good job teaching in. Great speaker, funny guy. Knows what he's talking about but his exams are tough and are very conceptual. Have to put in a lot of work and study time to do well! But that's college in general! I'd take him again
Outstanding Prof! He records his lectures on iTunes which is great. About everyone still goes to lecture though just to listen to him in person. Smart and funny.
Professor Bergman needs to teach 251 all of the time. I am so happy to have him instead of some of the other BMS profs. Funny and always trying to make sure we know our material.
Clear notes, records lectures on iTunes, responds almost immediately to emails, only need to reference textbook for extraneous questions. Straight forward exams easily finished w/in the allotted time. Very funny guy!
Professor Bergman really knows what he is talking about. He kept class fun and interesting at all times and is extremely knowledgeable. Sometimes I felt like he knew too much, to the point where it confused me and a few other kids in the class. Overall, amazing quality professor. One of my favorites so far at GVSU.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Professor Bergman has dynamic lectures and is always very clear when presenting the material. He provides study guides for his exams which are challenging, but only because they make you apply the information instead of just reciting definitions. He's extremely attractive, so that's an added bonus.
Dr. Bergman is great! Best Prof at GVSU that I have had. I can see why he is the new chair of BMS. I really hope to get him in patho this year.
I went into the lab course with low expectations, thinking I would hate an 8:00am lab, but the Professor Bergman made it enjoyable and I actually liked going to lab. He was really effective at making concepts easier to understand by relating them back to real life situations. I learned more in lab than I did in lecture all week.
Dr. Bergman was excellent at explaining even the most difficult topics in the class, which cleared up issues I had been having with both lecture and lab materials. He explained multiple ways and prompted us to think.
Dr. Bergman was a superb and enthusiastic lecturer. His presentations kept everyone's attention and I enjoyed coming to lecture. He also posts his lectures on iTunesU, which was a great tool for studying and I wish all professors posted their lectures on iTunesU.
One of the best profs I have ever had. His knowledge in the field is incredible, and he does a great job of teaching it to students.
Wonderful professor that managed to involve and interact with everyone in a large lecture hall. He made class entertaining and had a balance of funny and serious with the subject. I sincerely wish I had studied a little harder to receive a better overall grade, however if I ever decided to retake this class I would go out of my to take his section.
Very personable, friendly, and knowledgeable. Overall great professor.
By far the best professor I have had at Grand Valley! He is extremely smart and was able to use his intellect to teach the material in a way that could be understood by all. He also presented very interesting topics in the real world that went along with the material for that day. I am very happy I had him as a professor.
He posts his lecture online but gives extra credit for showing up to class. A lot of work, but it helps a lot to read the book, even though it's huge. Focus on the lectures, but use book for background details and clarifications. Talks fast and talks the whole class time, but makes it interesting. He's funny, very smart and very good at teaching.
Dr. B gives the appearance of helpfulness, but talks over students asking questions, test questions are misleading/poorly worded, and lecture notes are inaccurate/don't match the book. We didn't cover many diseases we requested to cover on the first day. Criteria given for EC but he doesn't always count it. Expect to work very hard in this class.
Most dope professor I have ever had
He was a DOPE professor. Dr.B is very funny guy and very inspirational.
Bergman is the best BMS 290 prof that GVSU has to offer. However, there have been situations throughout the semester that have not been handled well. We are always days behind the material that is presented in BMS 291 which makes lab much more difficult. We are also behind in the material at the end of the semester yet it will still be on the final
Professor Bergman was a great prof and I hope to have him for another class in the future. Definitely take him if you have the chance.
It was a pleasure to be in Dr. Bergman's human physiology lecture. He is probably the most enthusiastic professor I've ever had and it definitely shows. He gives relevant examples and cool little fun facts mixed in his lecture. The material itself is very dense and can feel grueling. It took me over ten hours of studying per exam to get a high A.
Lectures were awesome. It was fascinating to listen to him and learn about the material. He did an excellent job teaching the class. I thought the lectures were entertaining and outside examples were interesting! I am really glad he posted the lecture online as well. They were very helpful for studying.
Professor Bergman is arguably one of the most intelligent professors I've heard lecture at GV. His lectures are extremely interesting because they are given almost flawlessly every class period. His exams are pretty tough but human physiology should be a challenging class. TAKE HIM
Dr. Bergman was unlike any professor I've had. Not only did he engage the entire lecture hall in his lectures, he made them entertaining. He has a great sense of humor and seems to have a strong sense of what students struggle with, and how to help. The fact he recorded his lectures proved to be very beneficial.
Probably the smartest prof I've ever had & also one of the best profs overall as well. Dr. Bergman made physiology very interesting & doable. The subject is pretty challenging & requires a lot of time but if you put in the work, you will succeed. Tests are hard, but not unfair. He is definitely your best shot at succeeding in BMS 290.
He's very knowledgable, but I found him a bit hard to understand. He isn't always the best at explaining things because he often assumes students know things that they do not. Exams are REALLY hard. Good news is there is extra credit if you attend class! Really nice guy, powerpoints are clear. I think physiology in general is just hard.
Prof. Bergman was an amazing professor! His lectures are all posted online and were so interesting. The material is tough, as to be expected, but he teaches it in a way that makes a lot of sense. This prof is very well respected and liked and I would highly recommend taking him.
He keeps lecture interesting and records every lecture in case you couldn't attend. He's extremely knowledgeable and you have extra credit opportunities for showing up. Also..... he includes memes in his powerpoints so you should take him.
Great guy who really knows his stuff. He gives good, funny, detailed lectures which he posts recordings of. There's extra credit and online quizzes to boost your grade. He is your best option for this class, however the lecture is consistently behind the lab throughout the entire semester and that makes it extremely hard to do well in lab.
I selected 'tough grader' as in, he sure wasn't kidding when he said he can write a tough exam question! He wants you to truly understand the material, even if it means being behind from lab. He's really good at explaining and tells plenty dad jokes. Highly recommend reading the book & doing the study questions he puts out for an A. Extra credit!
Exams were very challenging so a lot of studying was required in order to do well on them. Basically your whole grade is comprised of exams, however, he does offer a decent amount of extra credit.
Great teacher. Very funny. Gives so much extra credit you have to try to get less than a B. Book is helpful but honestly, I never used, and a lot of my classmates didn't either and were doing just fine. BIG, BIG TIP, study quizlets you may find while taking your quizzes like crazy. I'm serious about this one.
Dr. Bergman is an amazing professor, his lectures are super interesting and he always throws in some golden dad jokes. He pulls flash cards with names on them, and if you are present you get extra credit, many other opportunities for extra credit as well. Test are difficult but possible if you put in the work. 10/10 would take him again
Dr. Bergman is a great professor. Little homework. No quizzes, papers, presentations. Offers a lot of bonus points. Exams are multiple choice and common sense. He uses powerpoints every class, sometimes gets boring. Probably could have passed if you skip every class, uploads ALL lectures to blackboard.
74 on exam 1, 94 on exam 2, 88 on exam 3, and 91 on final and got an A in the class. He is the best prof i've ever had, but you need to STUDY a lot. I have never studied so much in my life. he gives a crazy amount of extra credit and offers amazing explanations when you go in to ask questions. online quizzes all on quizlet
Doctor Bergman is truly amazing: smart, funny, and generous with extra credit. However, if you don't read, you will not do well on the exams because they are very comprehensive. It is a difficult class, though, so it is not really his fault. He loves to joke and he is very nice and fun.
Professor Bergman is one of the best professors I've had at Grand Valley. His exams are really hard tho, but gives out so much extra credit that it makes up for the exams. They are multiple choice, but still make you think a lot. He is willing to meet with you before and after exams too. He really knows philosophy and makes it interesting to learn!
Dan is a stellar guy. Let me put that out there first. However, if you really want to pickup a lot of knowledge, I'd take a different prof. I KNOW Dan knows his stuff, but his lectures are overly simplified. Lots of tangents watching youtube clips and memes. If you want an easy A, sure. If you want to learn a lot, ehhh...
He's a great professor. I had him for BMS 290, lectures were pretty good. He pays attention to his audience well. He knows when the class needs a break. Study the slides as if they're notecards and you'll be fine. He gives you all the info, you just need to be able to apply the concepts.
A legend.
Dr. Bergman is easily one of the best professors I have had at GVSU. His lectures are super engaging and to the point. He gives extra credit for attendance and was helpful when I went to office hours. Definitely take Bergman if you have the chance!
One of the best professors. His powerpoints are detailed, easy to follow, and his jokes are really funny! Plus there are SO MANY chances to earn extra credit - in class, outside class, and even on exams. And his tests are straightforward. He posts recorded lectures so you don't miss anything and makes reviewing material even easier. TAKE HIS CLASS!
Professor Bergman tells jokes or stories during his lectures. He is an overall great human being and tries to entertain the class as much as possible. His lectures are very BROAD, so you need to read the book in addition to going to class. Pathophysiology is hard and covers so much material but he tries his best to make it fun.
Good professor, very intelligent. Talks wicked fast during lectures but content is clear. Exams are hard and test your critical thinking, so you have to do more than memorize the material to do good. To do good, you have to study consistently to retain all of the material, and look up extra information when studying. Fair grader, no buffer points.
After the switch to online, he had us use the lockdown browser, which I understand, but he became so consumed with catching people who cheated that that appeared to be his main objective and he even made an exam extra hard on purpose (as stated through his email). I believe that is unfair with what is happening today and caused a lot of anxiety.
Great prof. overall. He definitely won't hand out A's, you'll have to work for it but it is do-able. He gives a very generous amount of extra credit. I ended the class with an 89% but with extra credit, I ended with a 93%. Highly recommend him.
Professor Bergman is one of the best profs Ive had. He explains things in a way that makes it interesting and in a way I can understand it. With same dad jokes among the way. His exams arent bad if you study the material. I enjoyed the class. Take him !!!
professor Bergman was such a nice and funny guy! the information was fairly simple but the exams were always hard. Also, the power points seemed pointless because you had to read the book in order for them to make sense. I think he gives so much extra credit to make up for it. I ended with an B but with extra credit got an A- (5%)!
Great guy and very intelligent. Tests were quite difficult considering how little information he provides in the powerpoints. You should read the book to get a clear understanding of material. Quizzes are open book/note which can really help boost your grade. Tons of extra credit, which is always nice.
Take Dr. Bergman for any course that you can because he teaches multiple. I learned a lot in his nutrition class. He's excellent at lecture and really nice too. You have to study but he's super chill and clear. His exams are pretty straightforward.
Hardest class for me. Use the book- everyone will say not to worry about it, but it will help you understand more than what is given in lecture, you need both to do well in this class. This isn't a class you can do lecture and be done- you need to put in a lot of extra time, even if it seems easy. GO to office hours, he will help you out.
The Goat. The Tom Brady of Professors. Take him, you won't regret it trust me.
Professor Bergman tries to trick you on exams. Studying did not help me feel prepared for any exams. His lectures are long and he takes long explaining, and expects you to cover everything he doesn't get to when lecturing, which adds another 2 hours into his class, plus 2 class periods a week. Take a different professor. He drops lowest quiz.
LOL! That last review is kinda funny because Professor Bergman's exam averages were always like a B-. It's not a overly hard class, just gotta study a little. I just studied his notes and attended his class and did fine. Hes really really good at teaching! Plus its a 300 level course, so expect it to be at least a little challenging.
Dr. Bergman was a good professor. Exams were tough, but averages were in the B range and there were lots of other points for the class. Slow talker. Gives extra credit and drops low quiz. Tries to teach at the pace of the specific class, but crammed a lot of info into the last week. I went to office hours and he was very helpful. Very responsive.
Professor Bergman was nice and his lectures were entertaining, but his exams were tough. He likes to ask questions about things that he mentions in class but are not in the note packets. He does try to help with giving extra points which is nice.
dr. bergman is a really nice professor who makes sure to add a lot of fun videos and jokes throughout lecture to help keep students entertained. the exams were a bit hard, but the amount of extra credit he gives makes up for it 100%. the only grades in the grade book are exams and quizzes
I did not think that I would care about or get a whole lot out of this class, but he made it exciting to come to every class. It ended up being my favorite class at GVSU! Fun, interesting and helpful class! Great prof!
Yes, he's a very nice & funny guy, his lectures are super interesting. However, the exams had a fair amount of unnecessarily hard questions. Make sure to study extremely small details if you want an A on them. I don't think he goes over what he's giving out. Prepare to be disappointed after receiving your grade, even if you've studied hard.
I some how did better in patho than in this class. He purposely tries to trick you on exams and focuses on the small things that he barely goes over. He always goes over the lecture time and tries to rush through things. He talks very fast during class and he is hard to understand. He is bad at responding to emails. Attend class to get extra credit
Awesome prof! His exams are not very hard if you study a little. He does expect you to apply the material on exams but the class averages on all exams were at least a B-. He does really know his stuff so if you are doing anything in health fields, he's the best by far of anyone I've had in BMS. Super helpful and useful class.
I though all of the material was fair and the exams weren't bad if you take the time to study. I liked him for the most part but he would always keep us over class time. He also would make us watch lectures outside of class if he did not get through the material that he wanted to. Overall good class but some of the content was very rushed through.
I have mixed feelings about Dr. Bergman. His exams were based off of powerpoints and side comments he made during class, so you must attend class to do well! His lectures are long, and he moves slow, but he does his best to keep the class entertained. Lots of extra credit. Most people get high C and low B on exams... very difficult to get an A.
Dr. Bergman makes this class fun and interesting. His lectures can feel a little long sometimes, but they are really good and packed with info. I recommend asking him questions because he is fountain of knowledge and it slows him down to dive deeper on topics that I liked. The quizzes and review guides were helpful for getting ready for exams.
I took this class hoping for a standard nutrition class. BOY was I wrong. Ended up being much harder than any core BMS class I have taken. Long boring lectures, very specific exam questions, would not recommend unless you want to waste a semester memorizing information.
As a nursing major this was one of the best classes that I have ever experienced at GVSU. He takes time to make sure students understand the information, asking questions and going at a reasonable pace. He uploaded lectures online which made it easier to study, though he encouraged in-person attendance by giving extra credit in class.
This was a great class, and I'm disappointed Dr. B doesn't teach anymore Nursing-curriculum classes! The material was interesting and he kept it light and funny! His DJ Ileum pneumonic is stuck in my brain! He was always available after class for questions and office hours. The class was set up for success, and I'm thankful for his flexibility.
Overall great prof and great guy! Seems like he cares and wants us to do well. Take him over anyone else.
I really really enjoyed this class and I was very sad to see it end. I suck at physiology in general, so I thought this class would be difficult for me, but I became super interested in the subject and whenever I didn't understand something, he took the time to explain it thoroughly. I loved this class and I would recommend it to anyone!
As a nursing major his exams were difficult! I would study 15+ hours for each exam and still get 70%, the questions were hard to understand and would be things we never talked about in lectures or the book. Offers EC by pulling cards with your name on them if your in class. 7 quizzes and 4 hw which are easy, but I never feel prepared for the exams
Dr B is a great prof! He's one of the best teachers I've had. He does a lot of real examples in class and likes application questions on the stuff that we learned in class on exams. I had to put a lot of effort into this class to get an A, but his exams were fair for an upper-level class.
Straight forward class. Easy 8 quizzes drops the lowest, easy homework assignments and 4 unit exams. Extra credit for showing up to class. Exams are very easy if you study. Dr. B does a good job at making his lectures interesting. Just go to lecture and study and you should be chilling. Easiest BMS course I have ever taken.
If you have the opportunity to take a class with prof Bergman, DO IT. He is by far one of the most fair professors I've ever had in my time at GV. He also adds little dad jokes to lectures which is hilarious. Would 100% recommend, do not miss out.
Professor B keeps the class interesting with real-world examples. Exams are challenging but fair if you attend lectures and use the textbook and tools like unstuckstudy. Straight-forward grading, with extra credit for participation.
Overall, it was a great class that was very reasonable, so I would recommended others to take this course with Dr. Bergman. He gave plenty of opportunities for students to earn points and anytime he thought something was unfair, he would turn it into extra credit. I wish more professors would do this.
Dr. Bergman is a nice person but not the best professor. He never grades assignments and it's taken him 2 months to grade them, and he also never responds to emails. My classmates have also experience him not responding to emails. He also writes the exams and I found them medium difficultly; he does write some odd questions that weren't covered
Dr. B's nutrition course was by far the most engaging and enjoyable class in my college experience, and I never expected that I'd feel this way about a nutrition course. I found myself looking forward to his class every week. Dedicated and passionate about teaching students.
You can tell that he is very informed on what he's teaching about and he's a nice guy. He presents the material in a fun and interesting way. A couple online, open anything quizzes, some homework, and four exams total. The final isn't cumulative either. He also has notecards with students names on them that he calls on for questions. Would take him
SO GOOD! Knowledgeable about the topics, made lectures engaging with creative PowerPoint. Gives lots of extra credit. Homeworks are long but there are only a few.l Quizzes are open-note and online. Cares a lot about the subject and the students. Truly just such a great professor and guy
Seriously, outstanding class! Dr. B keeps things super interesting and actually makes learning fun, which is rare lol. It did feel a bit rushed toward the end, but he turns most of that into bonus stuff so it's chill. Honestly, if you see he's teaching - take him. Best prof hands down!
He's very nice and a cool prof. His exams can be a little challenging but if you study and pay attention, the class isn't too hard. Learned a ton from him as he's really smart but not intimidating. He seems to want his students to do well and gave extra credit when he fell behind in class.
Great prof! Even though I took the class online, you could tell he cared. Kept us on track with announcements and made the class interesting with lots of real-world examples (even TikToks).
Dr. B is awesome! Super interesting, easy to follow and he has a great sense of humor and is very good storyteller. Honestly one of the few professors I looked forward to hearing lecture. He seriously needs to make TikToks because what he says in class is gold. Definitely take him!
Professor Bergman was such a fun professor for this class! The class was super interesting and he made it relevant to real-world events. He offers extra credit which is so nice and is overall a great teacher!!
