Prof. Berney is great. He is funny and makes class enjoyable. He is also a great dancer.

Took him for Dance Appreciation. All you do is highlight, memorize, and write up critiques. If you do it, you get an A regardless - it's that simple. A lot of busy work. There's a lot to memorize for the tests (all 2 of them) but it's very easy.

Anyone who doesn't like Mr. Berney is crazy! Thisis a great class with a fun teacher.

This class is all about moving. Just keep up! It's mostly up to you to keep it clean, but be careful! If you aren't clean, it will be much harder to move fast. LOTS of balance work, natural posture and floorwork will definately improve. FUN!!!

Summer 2005, turned out to be really hot when I took this class for a fun education while earning a few more units. If anyone wants to take Mr. Berney, please do so, for he's a great teacher and he's highly refcommended!

Berney is so funny & so nice! I LOVED his class. It was pretty easy and soooo enjoyable to be in. I had a great experience ~ he's the type of professer that you know you can always to go and if you ever see him after the semester he's just as friendly!

very easy class. tells you exactly what's on the quizzes and tests. he's very helpful and funny. if you miss a test or quiz he gives you 2 more classes to make it up. everyone should take this class.

this guy is awsome!! I wish he could teach accounting, econ and all of that other stuff. He has alot of energy and I promise that you will get a kick out of his class. The class seems boring in the cataloge but he shakes it up and practically highlights what is on the test for you. very straight forward and highly recommended!!!

Instructor spoon-feeds his students. No discussion after required lab work. He allows students' presentations to exceed more than 10 minutes. High school atmosphere.

Mr. Berney is a great teacher because he really cares about his students. His ballet classes are not very good, he doesn't teach basics he just throws stuff at you and lets you figure it out for the most part. More skilled people wouldn't enjoy the class very much, it's not based on strong ballet, more on tricks and making things look hard.

the class is very easy. he believes in giving students respect even when they don't deserve it. students talk when others are talking and he does not make them leave class. if you are an older student or a student who is serious about learning in a professional environment, don't take this class. If you just need the units, this class is for you

I recommend taking both classes together if you need both classes. Much easier. Lots of extra credit offered. Only write one paper & extra credit for both classes. This class couldn't be easier.

He's a great teacher. Quizzes are easy. There is one concert critique and no other homework. Easy going and great, and should definitely take him for your general ed classes.

He's a good teacher. He will go over the whole chapter w/u and tells u what 2 highlight and the quizzes are EXACTLY what he said it will be. The final could be a lil overwhelming since it is comprehensive, but the class is comfortably easy.

Mr. Berney is funny and helpful. He tells you what to highlight from the text and what will be on the Quiz and Final. Its better if you wirte all the dancers and styles on flashcards to go back and memorize because its necessary to know them all for the final. Highly recommend :)

Berney is awesome! He gets you excited about the material. The quizzes include, multiple choice, true/false, and short 1-2 sentence 'essay'. You also have to do a concert critique and report/presentation but it's fun! The final is short essays. You want to go to class not only because it's fun, but he tells you exactly what to study for the tests.

this is probably the one of the easiest classes at el camino if not the easiest. he gives you the answers to the tests and as long as you have half of a brain you can get an a.

Very easy class. He gives you the answers, you just have to write them down and study them. He tells you the essay questions for the tests and you have to do one really easy presentation to the class.

I took his online class. It was very easy as long as you did the work. Make sure you do all the extra credit(watching dancing with the stars)because it will help you in the end. Its hard to fail because you have a week to do all the assignments and the tests are open book. I enjoyed it and learned alot. He is also very helpful and funny.

ah man, Berney is one of my all-time favorite prof. he is hilarious every single class. hw is occasional with extra credit available occasionally as well. tests are not that bad as he tells you what to study for. the final can be a slight pain as it is cumulative, but still not that bad... the secret to berney as he tell you is DARK CHOCOLATE

Took this class online. He is a great teacher. Gives all of the assignments the first day of class and you have to complete them by the due date. The class is an easy A if you stick with it. He offers a lot of extra credit and he makes it fun. I have also taken his Dance3 at ELCO and that class is just as easy and great too.

I took Berneys online class, first of all its SUPER EASY & he will always email you back asap. You will have to attend 2 dances but besides that you are guarenteed to get an A

Online class - Easy A, but requires you to read from the textbook & you have to attend 2 shows on campus. He offers a lot of extra credit to make up for a missed concert/written critique. I hear he's a nice guy, so if you're into dance why not take him on campus?

Easiest class in the world. Buy him dark chocolate bars as often as possible. Buy him an ice cold can of coke if it's hot out. His teaching methods are easy, and I got an A in the class without trying. Must visit 3 concerts, do a video critique.

EASY EASY! He's funny and helpful. One presentation, 5 quizzes, 2 part mid-terms, 2 part final. He gives you notes and basically memorize it. All test are based on the notes. I dont know how people fail = slackers.

Whats with the hate? This guy was friggin hilarious since day one. He is SUPER easy and I don't know anyone who can lecture as simple as he is. Berney is to the point and doesn't spend a lot of time talking in circles. He is actually nice. Just don't give him a reason to be upset at you. You respect his class, he will respect YOU.

Mr. Berney is pretty cool. Easy A but, you must do good in the quizzes, follow up with the concerts, & come to class. -5 pts everytime you're absent, 2.5 if you're late. You will need the book for quizzes, b/c its open book! Although I didn't take the class online, I recommend that you do since everything is submitted online. Lots of ex-credit!

Incredibly easy class! Gives tons of extra credit. Ended up w/ 120%. Attend class or u lose points. All notes r posted on etudes, which is also where everything is submitted, so open-book tests and quizzes! Tricky part can be the essay questions. They can be hard to understand what he wants exactly and also bc his lectures r not the best. Take him!

Professor Berney is genuinely nice and helpful. Tests and homework assignments are mostly online, so try to keep up with them if you want to do well. Took this class over the winter but still enjoyed his teaching style and personality so much! Take him if you ever need to fulfill your GE requirement!

Mr. berney is a wonderful dance teacher. he is often really funny and helpful. he does have textbooks depending on your level of ballet but usually your only assignments are dance critiques and quizzes. at the end of the semester, you perform a final which is so much fun. I recommend this dance teacher to anyone who wants to dance!

Berney is that type of professor where by the end of the semester you have a super close friendship. He is fun and hilarious. I had him for FYE Cohort and we ended up having a concert! I truly enjoyed dancing and going to class. He is a great professor.

This is the easiest class I've ever taken in my life. There is so much extra credit, it would be hard for you to not pass. I missed 3 assignment and still had over a 100%. You need the book to get all the answers. The assignments can be time consuming, but easy.

This class is easy to get points in the class. You will have to make sure you turn in the assignment before the date that it is due and it is easy to forget however there are many opportunities for you to get the grade that you want in the class and his class was great. I have never had a class that was like his class and I really like his class.

His dance 101 is easy. He gives extra credit like crazy! Just show up because he is always finding so way to give out extra credit. You need to participate and sometimes you have to go in front of the class to give a mini presentation that is less than 30 seconds. Such an easy class and cool professor!

I do like his Dance online class. The assignment is clear but you do have to remember to turn in the assignment before it is due and it is interesting how we get to do a extra credit assignment on Dancing with the Stars every week and it is interesting and I do recommend to take his Dance online class and you will think that it is interesting.

He does make his Dance online class interesting by letting us do extra credit on Dancing with the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance. You have to keep up with the work every week and then you will be fine however it is easy to forget the due date for the assignment that is due for his Dance online class and you have to go to the concert.

easy A if you do as you are supposed to. Extra credit helps a lot, but if you miss more than 4 days or a concert grade will suffer.

This was my second time taking a Dance online class with Professor Berney and I have to recommend definitely take a Dance online class with Professor Berney and the online class has a clear grading criteria and you have to stay on task doing the work which is due every Monday but very enjoyable class and definitely the best professor.

Love his class and he tries to give every extra opportunity to pass his class and make sure you do every extra credit. His class has to be one of my most favorite classes that I had in college and definitely will miss his class.

Very straightforward class. Every week you are assigned to answer discussion questions from certain chapters and complete quizzes. All you have do to is pay attention to the deadlines and complete the assigned work and you will pass. It's almost impossible not to get an A in this class. The book is necessary.

Ok Teacher and Okay Class! I think it's a bit much for an online class about Dance Appreciation. A LOT OF WRITING! Has a "7 part" FINAL! Weekly Reading and Tests/Quizzes are not overwhelming (there reasonable). Not really the most enjoyable class. If you want to pass, you WILL WORK FOR IT!

I took this class as a high school student, and it was my first community college class. I was incredibly scared, but I have no complaints! Professor Berney was great. The assignments are not hard at all if you read the chapter. The quizzes are easy as well. The extra credit comes in handy. The curriculum is also interesting!

Took the class online during a winter course; very easy A if you stay on top of the work. Just quizzes and discussion posts for each chapter, 1 concert critique, and 1 dance video critique. The book is needed for discussion questions, but older (and cheaper) editions will work just fine. Some extra credit if offered.

Berney is an interesting and timeless soul. If you are taking Dance 101, it is likely because you were forced into it. While he makes the "final project" sound scary, at the end of the day it is a simple performance. Berney will NOT guide you along the way however, and that is his downfall as a professor for this class. But, he is a caring man.

Anyone who failed this class was just lazy to do the work. He gave a lot of homework but he would be such an easy grader about it. I took him online and on top of that he gave A LOT of extra credit.

Easy A all we realyl did was a discussion a week. He offers extra credit and its just watching So You Think You Can Dance and you write a paragraph on what you liked. You do have to go to school at least once to view a show for credit, but it was cool I even made a friend. If you're gonna take dance take his class you wont regret it.

There is so much extra credit, you would have to try not to do well in this class. The assignments are all pretty simple. The only thing is that the final has several parts, including a paper, but part of the reason he gives so much credit is to cushion you a bit on the final, so it evens out.

He is a nice professor, does not have a hard test, and he will give lots of extra credit. You need to have the textbook, or you can't do anything in his class. Make sure you read and do the assignments, then everything will be great.

Professor B is my favorite professors! First I took Dance Appreciation class and since I loved his teaching so much, I also took two more classes from him. Professor is truly kind and nice! He cares about students! He is passionate about dance and teaching! He can dance! So open minded with amazing class structure and assignments! Pro &Perfect !!

I enjoyed Professor Berney's class. It was easy to follow along, and a good choice for the beginning months of COVID. I learned quite a bit about Dance History that I was not previously aware of as a professional dancer myself.

He is a respected professor. He cares about his students and does a lot to see his students succeed. There are many extra credit opportunities. He will work with you, but please don't mistake kindness for weakness. Please do your best on doing your weekly homework, and reading and you will pass. I would gladly take this course again! 10/10!!!!

EASY A! LOTS OF EXTRA CREDITS. I took this class in the summer semester. Even though you can't get full points on your assignments and quizzes, you are fine because every week has the extra credits! And believe it or not, I got 40 points on the extra credits lol. So I recommend taking him. I wish I could take his class in person.

Professor Berney is such a great professor. His lectures and the way he use Canvas is a bit different than how we normally use it, however the instructions on how to do assignments are very clear. He gives you 2 weeks to complete assignments before the due date. All assignments are due Mondays by 8pm which is different than the usual 11:59pm.

easy A as long as you show up to class. all grades were based on in class participation so if u were absent there was no way to make up the points from that day. offers a few easy extra credit opportunities which can really help bring up ur grade. a few quizzes but they were all open note and taken at home so they were not too hard.

I took this over the winter semester so everything was jammed into a 5 week course. Professor Berney is extremely clear and communicative, so it's really hard not to do well. There is a good amount of homework assignments, but they are super easy and just take some time if anything. I also learned a lot more than I had anticipated. 10/10 recommend
