Very difficult class, but if you pay for the extra credit trips you'll get an A
Only take this class if you have the money for field trips. Medieval Times ... If you go on the field trips, you'll get an A . If you don't, you'll be lucky to get a C

This guy just passes over information when no one knows the answers in class. I took this guy twice for a challenge and got a B both times.
take him if you got $400 for the field trips and take hist 1a and 1b at the same time then the field trips count for both classes!
I took this class and got an A without going on one field trip. If you do go on the field trips and still can't get the grade you want, maybe you ought to rethink this whole college thing.
Professor Brown is an outstanding teacher with the creativity of a brillant man. Those who give him a bad rating were those who did not go to class or take advantage of the help he offered.
worst teacher ever. take him if u have hundreds of dollars to buy your grade through extra credit
Hard tests! Have to read! Can get an A but all the extra credit really insures your grade!
Boring class with your occasional random thoughts from the teacher. If you go on all the field trips and flunk every test you will get an A.
Brown is an idiot, I dont know how he is still on the payroll at Moorpark College....
hard teacher if you dont read but everything on the test is in the book, but it is just alot of information.
His lectures are a joke. He sidetracks to lame jokes all the time and it's hard to concentrate. Makes you never want to go to lecture. You can however, pay for a bunch of expensive field trips for extra credit and pretty much buy your grade.
Your grade is just your test scores. He offers extra-credit field trips that can guarantee you an A. Lets you drop 1 of 4 tests. His tests are difficult. He is kind person, but his class lacks in substance. Take him only if you need to.
Go to his office, he'll like you/give u test answers. Lectures mostly jokes but if you listen he throws in enough that you dont need to read. But its no easy A, you really need a couple EC trips + some reading/studying. he drops 1 of 3 tests.
Lectures are mainly for laughs, Tests r straight out of the book, BUT MAKE SURE U CAN AFFORD THE A COUPLE EXTRA CREDIT FIELD TRIPS, GO TO MIDEVIL TIMES AND WATCH HIM GET LOADED...
He is seriously a crack head who rides around campus on his bike all day. Pretty tough but funny in class. Give him some crack and its an "A" for sure.
Heres the dealio. Pay $450 for all the extra credit trips, and you have an A. Easy as that. You can faill all the test and not even go to class.
This is a fun guy. Knowledgable, however weak on the teaching. Test are difficult, but studying is a must. Take the field trips pay the money get an A. Do not at your own perill.
I liked the guy. He made the lectures fun with jokes and he really knows what hes talking about so you can ask any questions you want. His tests are tough, but if you study the book and go to class then you'll get an A for sure.
I liked the guy. He really knows his stuff so you can ask any questions you want. Study from the book, go to class, look over your notes and you can for sure get an A. The tests are tough so studying is a must
Good Instructor who doesn't force attendance. He breaks the ice daily with simple, yet funny jokes. The tests are tough but there's 3 not 2 and he drops one of the first two. Field trips & extra credit ensure your chances of passing
He's the best professor I've had at Moorpark College by far. He is very good at teaching the material, but he also is able to keep us interested by throwing the odd joke into his lectures. Brown rocks!!

A madman who rides his bike around campus qouting Big Lebowski. but thats in a good way. His test are hard, but he answer any questions you have. He keeps class enertaining with jokes and pop culture references
Dickhead **** that uses the class to buy his books. Can't sell books back at end of semester. Impossible to get a good grade unless you plan on attending a bunch of expensive fieldtrips for extra credit
Don't recommend at all.If you have the money for the field trips, that's good (total rip off though) but make sure he does a head count before leaving from wherever- cuz he occasionally leaves people behind, like me.
When people say you can buy a grade in his class, they are serious. Otherwise the class is a real waste.
Great guy who knows his stuff! The tests seemed hard for some people, but they were multiple choice. If you read and listen to the lectures you can get an A.BTW, check out the class trips.
This guy is the best Professor at Moorpark College..."We Care"! I have never had such an excellent & caring Instructor my whole life. "Bill" will teach u everything you ever needed to know about History. Make sure you go on the field
Best ever! Burnouts will hate him, because he makes you accountable. However, he offers options (including book reports that few lazy students will accept)and has to be the most caring, considerate teacher I've ever had. Totally cool dude!
Very good teacher. He is difficult though. Very good idea to keep up with the reading. Dropping the lowest score is very cool of him though.
fun teacher. He has the hots for Judge Judy, putting the smack down on people, and crystal meth.. Those things aside he's concerned about how his students do. If your going to take this class, my advice would be to keep up with the reading & go to class!!
He is a cool guy, Really weired but funny. Always there if you need help, and the best part is that if you mess up on the exams you can go on field trips to make it up. his test are hard but if u keep up with the reading then you will do good!
Even though alot of people talk**** about Mr. Brown, I thought he was a great teacher and I learn alot. He classes are exciting and it was always kept it interesting.
He's Cool. Go to class and take in a couple fieldtrips and you'll be fine.
Not the Daniel Brown who wrote "Angels and Demons" and "The DaVinci Code." But shhh, don't tell anyone, you'll ruin his best pick-up line. Seriously, I did well in his class because I, wait for it...read the material and studied! This

Relaxing class. Field trips are fun even though you don't get your money's worth. Lectures and videos help, but reading the textbook is essential to how well you do on exams. You will also have to read two short books written by him as well. No homework.
Even if you don't like history, he loves it so much you can't help but get into it. Study and go to class and you'll do fine.
oh man. this guy.... he is a wierdo. either you go to class take notes, study, and take the hard tests! or you never go,and go on about 3 or 4 fieldtrips do the book report and get an A or B!!! simple as that
He's really funny(reminds me of conan o'brien). You can basically buy your grade with field trips but listening to his lectures are really fun. You have to read and know the stuff he talks about on the tests, but other than that he's a great teacher.
he's a very funny teacher...i would difinetly say he's worth taking ...at least for the laughs...because his tests are extremely hard. I failed very test but went on all the field trips and did the book report and still got an A in his class.
He is really funny. His tests are very hard though, if you can handle reading the chapters and taking lecture notes you will do fine. I went on the field trips ($50 each) and it raised my grade to an A.
Tests are diufficult unless you have read all the chapters and gone to all the classes. If you do that, an A is possible. No homework, attendence not graded. So mucvh Extra Credit that its impossible not to get an A
Lots of reading required to do well on tests, however, if you go on field trips (very expensive) than you have nothing to worry about - easy A.
This teacher was very entertaining. His tests were rather hard... and I felt that they were made that way on purpose, so that students would feel obligated to pay big$$$(field trips) to raise their grades. I felt that was wrong.
DO NOT TAKE HIM! So much reading to keep up with and he prides himself on being the hardest grader at Moorpark. You have to buy your grade buy going on extra field trips. He talks a lot about his own personal life and war stories. I barely got a C.
This guy is awful!! Only take this class if you have lots of $$$! There is no homework, no attendance requirement. The only way to do well is to ace the tests (impossible), and to spend up to $500.00 in field trips. He rambles on and on. Very boring.
This teacher is ridiculous he told the class that the counslers would make complaints about how the students were not passing his class, he didn't care, field trips are $50 offers about10 of them, I didnt have the money so I failed his class take Santiago
Be prepared to buy your way thru this class
This teacher has the easiest job in the world! He rarely lectures and when he does it is all twisted jokes or videos. His tests are ridiculously hard. Unless you have $300 to blow on fieldtrips to get an A. Don't take this teacher!
Mr. Brown is very passionate about history and ignited a spark in me that helped me to study hard and become a history teacher. He's an awesome guy and brings in all kinds of cool artifacts to class. Keep up the good work, Dan!

Lectures are very light and laid-back. His controversial jokes offend some, but are not meant to. Brown is an expert in the field of History. He goes out of his way to help a student. Tests are hard!! But it is true, one can buy his grade with field trips
Take good notes and do the reading and you can ace the tests WITHOUT field trips. I did it -- aced the first 3 and was able to skip the final. Great lecturer, but a little monotone. He REALLY knows his stuff.
If you are a rich person with all the free time in the world you will get an A just by going on the feild trips that cost $50.00 a pop!! So lay back relax and pay for you A!
Prof. Brown is one of the foremost authorities for research and study on women who assisted the Nazi SS run concentration camps. He has a lot of knowledge on many historical subjects and is willing to help students in any way. His tests are hard only to those who dont read the required material.
I found this class to be very difficult.Whenever he goes over material he goes into these rants of nonsense. It's almost impossible to follow along with his lectures. If you are rich you'll do ok because there are extra credit trips that cost $50 ea.He is funny though.
you buy your grade in this class. If you want to pay 50 bucks a trip then your set, otherwise you are SCREWED.
Lectures are very boring. Doesn't take attendance, so i just show up for the tests. If you read, you should do decent in the class. Do not take this class unless u can go on field trips. Otherwise, your grade will be impacted upon.
Very hard tests, I don't think that anyone gets higher than a C. But, if you go on all the field trips you will get an A.
so damn funny. the truth is, you read the book, and show up to class, you dont need to go on the extra credit trips. easy to get a b, possible to get an A, just read the chapters before the tests and you'll be fine. party on ya'll...
I don't think this is the best teacher to take if you're going to take history. His lectures are boring and doesn't put what he tells us to study for on the test. He shows super old videos and treats the class like a hick-town. Nice man, but not very consistant. Take someone else.
He is ridiculously hard. His test are near impossible to get an A on unless History is already a studied interest of yours. 10 field trips at $45 a pop guarantee an A in class(doesnt take roll). He told class about this sight, so to Prof. Brown, "Keep representing the MC...word...GO BLACK KNIGHT!!!"
oh man if you got $500 bucks you got an A if not be happy with a D
A idiot who shouldn't be teaching.I got an A in his class, which I still think I should of taught the class because he wasn't a good teacher.
hes cool if you go on all of the fieldtrips
All he cares about is lining his pockets with the kick backs from the field trips. He knows his stuff, but could care less if anyone learns. Likes to hang with loser students who get **** on field trips. A big waste of talent.
You guys need to lay off Brown. If people cared to show up to class, take notes, and read every chapter, you would surely get an A. I ended up getting an A on my first test, skipping two months of class because he drops the lowest test, and showing up for the final. I got an A in the class.
If you go to class, TAKE notes...don't be embarrassed, and read the chapters you will do fine. Maybe a couple extra credit and there's your A. Tests are hard because he puts in random ques. and two possible answers. One of the funniest people I have ever met!
really funny guy, tells the same stories a few times. his tests have nothing to do with the reading material. go on field trips, dont bother going to class unless you have nothing else better to do. just read the chapters the day before and average a 60 test average
He's funny in the beginning, but that gets old after the first test. Try to do well on the first test, then stop going to class until you take the final. If you did well in history during high school, then you should remember enough to guess and pass his tests. The key is to go on field trips.
He is funny but his tests are ridiculous, if you want an A in this class either you fork out $450 to go on all the field trips or you study like you have never studied before. Goodluck.
He is really nice and funny guy. His tests are hard but look at in two ways, time is money. If u don't have the time to read the chapters three times and take good notes, then go on the field trip, saves u lots of time. Lectures are good, learn a few things cuz its an expensive class!
bah, if people put any effort in the class they would do fine. it's a lot of reading, but he gives you plenty of time to get through it and he goes through everything in class and he totally encourages questions. cool guy. bloody crankhead
If you don't work full time, and you have the $400 to throw at him for field trips, then you have a chance of passing this class. I have never studied so hard, and failed so hard (because I couldn't afford the field trips.) His tests are almost impossible to pass.
EASIEST CLASS-JUST BE READY TO SPEND $$ ON THE FIRLD TRIPS- GARANTEE AN A...I HEARD HIS TEST ARE HARD BUT I COULD SAY THAT-NEVER READ THE BOOK OR STUDIED-GOT AN A JUST BY GOING ON ALMOST ALL THE FIRLD TRIPS..AND DONT BE SHY-ASK FOR HELP IF YOU NEED IT..SHOW INTEREST AND HE WILL HELP!!
Really nice and funny guy, tests are HARD so either study your ass off or do a few of the extra credit assignments he throws you(there are plenty of opportunities to make up points- if you want the A, do at least one ex-cred, otherwise don't complain about your grade, slackers!)Do NOT cut class!
Great teacher. I only took 3 field trips, got Ds on all test and passed with an A. Loved the class. I would only take history with him.
he's the hottest old man ever $250.00 f's on all the tests A in the class thats all i have to say
Funny teacher. Go on the field trips to get an A in the class
funny teacher (and no he's not on crack though it is debatable) likes to have past people debate with each other even though they're dead..... LOTs of extra credit and tells you on the very first day. tends to get off topic once in awhile but it's funny. (think he does it to catch our attention)
Had him for 1A and 1B. Easiest and fuunniest prof I've ever had. I just went to class for fun, never went on any of the field trips. Just read the chapter the day before the test (come on people, not that hard) and got A's in both classes no problem. His classes are ALWAYS fun and interesting.
If you think about it, this guy is ripping you off. No study guides because he says they are "not fair," he makes you buy his books, and he gets royalties from all the field trips you go on. I studied my ass off, and got an A without giving him a dime. You have to be either committed or rich to pass
Perhaps the easiest units to ace on campus. we got 4 tests and he dropped the lowest. just read the chapters the day before class and breezed through the test. If u cant do that he offers tons of extra credit. wether he makes $$ of them or not there fun and make getting anything below a b imposible
Just read your book and take notes and you'll do fine. He gives you ample opportunity to do well and make up for test mistakes and is a really personable guy. If you got anything less than an A, you probably didn't make any effort at all. He makes it easy for you to do well, so take the opportunity.
same jokes. over. and over. and over. repeat.
Great teacher! Intelligent, witty, and extremely outgoing. Those who complain the most don't READ or STUDY! The guy's a scholar for God's sake. Just do your work, ATTEND class, and focus and you'll do well (and he will write you an excellent letter and include your class rank--this is what kills the slackers!) - Luv 'em
he is very funny, although not everyone gets his jokes. text is extremely tedious and difficults, although his books are better. field trips are a lot of fun, and a great way to make up for low test scores. he is really smart and makes an effort to see kids do well. videos in his class are also good and relevant.
This guy is nuts. I have aced every history class i have ever taken but, this guys test are insanely hard. I read for the most part and took notes in class (even though he talks about taco bell more than history)and was able to get B's on his tests. Just be prepared to dish out a hundred or so for field trips. He makes money off them
He was a really funny guy and made it interesting, but his test swere pretty hard. On the parts of the test that I actually read about in the book, I got the right, so if you read and understand what is going on its easy to get a B... if you want more than that the field trips are good. They cost alot, but the points are major!
Listen guys--the guy knows his stuff and if you go in with the RIGHT attitude you'll be fine. I had been warned not to take him, but also heard someone say at least he had a sense of humor. He is hilarious and genuinely loves history. If you try (optimum word) he will help you. Really, just read the book, go to class, and you will do well!
The worst teacher ever, I am already paying to take the class so why should I have to also pay for my grade. Money doesn't grow on trees, and I don't just have hundreds of dollars to just give to the professor for free trips that count as extra credit.
Make sure that you are loaded. You will fail the test, because most of the questions are from the videos he shows in his class. He makes you fail then he offers the field trips and his money makig begins. This guy sucks. Not recomended. There are many other knowlagable teachers out there, why pay for your grade?
It's obvious that you are expected to memorize a lot of info.in a hist.class(80 ques test)However, he doesn't ask questions that are actually significant to the event, period, person etc. that we are studying. Therefore, you have no idea what to focus on. He also completely disregards main points in the book(that we are told read)on his tests
If you enjoy History he is the Profressor for you, if you don't, this is not the class for you.
Go on his field trips and pass the cource.
There is no way you can pass his tests, but it doesn't matter as long as you go on the feild trips. I failed every single test (horribly) went on all but 2 of the feild trips and recieved an A. EASSSYYY A!!!
All I learned in his US history class was that he was a prisoner of war and the different types of drugs he took. Tests are impossible, but you can get an A if you pay $50/field trip.
this guy is ridiculous. if you have $400 laying around to pay for his field trips, you'll get an a, but its honestly cheaper to drop the class and pay for it again with someone else that actually covers the material on the tests.
This guy is a gangster! He is seriously the funniest and greatest teacher I've ever had!Tests are NOT hard, I got a B on the first one (never went to class, read book), never had to go back for any of the others. Field trips are EXTREMELY fun. It's DEFINITELY worth the money! Make sure you ask him about Kurt the ****. Moorpark College - We Care.
Listen to the non-functioning students and you'll think that "Big Time" Dan Brown is difficult. Think about it--who complains on this billboard? I never went on any extra-credit tours, never did extra-credit book reports (no money involved there--just the ability to read and think--which most MC students can't do), and got an A! Wake up!
This teacher is horrible...and a complete ****. He will make you pay $60.00 for field trips to the Getty on a bus (will not let you drive yourself) when the admission is free. Horrible class..do not take it...he's after your money and whatever else you give him!
First, let me start by saying that he is extremely funny and I think he is a nice guy. Unfortunately, the tests were almost imposible and the material on the tests were not covered in class. The only way I would have passed the class is if I were rich and had enough money to go on the extra credit field trips.
I didn't go on any of the field trips and i got an A. If you are not an idiot, willing to pay attention and actually go to class, there are worse ways to spend an hour of your day. Take notes on most of the things he says [minus the the drug, taco bell, and big labowski references] oh, and read the book, because you know....your're supposed to
Anyone that says he is a hard teacher obviously hasn't had a hard teacher before. Just because you have to listen and study doesn't make it hard, it makes you lazy if you can't do it.
You need about $300 to get an A in this class.
Mr. Brown is the****! He takes you on lots of field trips and he talks like he's from the ghetto! What up foo?
He has a great scam(no not really). You pay $$$ for his field trips to make up for your bad grade on his test. Nice guy but his test are very hard. talk to him about drinking and he'll like you.

Funniest teacher ever!! The tests are super hard but there's a trick, your score is actually about ten percent higher than what you actually get. I got around 60% on most of the tests but I actually got 70's because of his weird(give you extra points just for taking the test) thing. I just went on one field trip and I would up with a B in the class. So basically it's an easy class.
butter have money for firld trips or you're screwed. What a rip off.
Very difficult tests...you MUST do the extra credit!!!
NO NO NO....Stay away from him! You need a lot of money and he's such a waste of time....Never again...Eww
I LIKE HIM I THINK HES A COOL ASS GUY.....HES A LITTLE OUT THERE BUT IT KEEPS THE CLASS FUN MAKES ME WANNA GO BECAUSE U NEVER KNOW WHATS GONNA COME OUT OF HIS MOUTH.....U NEED ALOT OF MONEY FOR HIS EXTRA CREDIT BUT HEY I WISH ALL MY TEACHER DO THAT I WOULD PASS ALOT MORE CLASSES =)
HE SUCKS DON't take him!
he was HORRIBLE!!!! that's all i can really say!!! nothing was good. . .bad teacher, bad lecturer, bad tester. . .EVERYTHING! HORRIBLE!
Concided, immature, **** at times and boring are some words to describe this professor. The lectures are dry and boring. Grades are based on three exams and there are no ways to bring up your grade without paying for field trips. He is rude and thinks he is still living the high life of his teen years. The exams are difficult and the lectures do not cover enough material to accurately prepare you for the exams.
He's great having the extra credit helps a lot. If you don't like him you probably don't read. The class is intersesting if you can enjoy history. He's really not that hard if you read along with him. Working a little harder never hurt anyone. plus extra credit whats not to like?
500$ buys you a descent grade. How much money does your parents make? ...you may need to borrow some. He is extremely challenging, his tests are extremely hard, and he doesn't give you a study guide for all the exams. He does, however take the time to meet with you individually, and that's a positive. He is also very knowlegable!
His tests were almost in a different language, they were harder than the SAT, however you can pay $500 dollars for an A or go to his office hours where he will go over everything and give you hints about what will be on the test. It's still hardwork but it pays off at the end.
would NOT recommend taking this class...unless you only wanna show up to take the final and pay a ton for field trips. jokes are lame, and pretty much 90% of the class is either asleep, talking, playing on laptops, doing other hw, or just picking their nose. he's not interesting AT ALL!

One of the worst professors/classes @ Moorpark. Lectures are dry, incoherent, and riddled with nonsensical personal anecdotes. Tests are LUDICROUS (note taking is impossible and questions on reading are freakishly obscure). Tales of $800 extra credit are true. Stubborn. Argumentative. NO rhyme or reason to how he grades papers or oral reports.
I MANAGED A B ONLY BY SPENDING OVER $500 BUCKS. THE TEST ARE IMPOSSIBLE, YOU CAN STUDY FOR TWO WEEKS AND STILL GET NO BETTER THAN A D+....WHEN I SAY IMPOSSIBLE, I MEAN IMPOSSIBLE. PAYING THE MONEY IS THE ONLY WAY TO GET A GOOD GRADE. YOU MIGHT AS WELL NOT SHOW UP TO HIS CLASSES BECAUSE NO MATTER HOW WELL U KNOW THE MATERIAL,HIS TESTS RELATE2 NOTHIN
the read is hard but he give a lot of E.C. cool teacher.
One of the only challenging classes I've had at Moorpark. But nothing that cant be overcome with a lil hard work. Rumors about the E.C. are not true. Ive received an A on every test w.o. having to pay for any E.C. whatsoever. All it takes is some studying, something we should all get used to if we want to be successful at all when we leave Moorpark
Ok....if you're looking for easy, this is the teacher for you, IF YOU DO THE READING! If you don't want to read, cough up about $600, and you can buy your A. This has got to be THE most unethical teacher I've ever seen. Rambles on and on needlessly in class, tests rival that of NASA, even if you read all 5 chapters that each test covers.
No quizzes, no homework, nada. Just tests & field trips. I told my brother about this and he said, "welcome to real college. that's exactly the way all my profs at UCLA grade, at least you get field trips." Plus Mr. B is hilarious. His classes are so fun, especially when someone walks out early & he chases them down. Good times and well worth it!
Where to start...this is probably the worst teacher I've ever had in my life. He loves to talk about beer and how his brain's fried. He strays far from anything related to history. His tests are hard, and if you don't plan on reading and re-reading every single chapter, you better have about $500 set aside for his field trips just so you can pass!
Great professor! Lectures are very thorough and interesting. He keeps you awake with his humor and side stories. Shows films and slides to further explain his points. His tests are fair and you need to study and read to pass. Only weird thing is that he offers so much extra credit which allows some students to pay for an A. If you study and re
i thought i'd give him a "hot"-- he's funny and smart, that counts towards attractiveness, right? but about the class: way fun, i dig! the class is amazing and terribly relevant, especially during this presidency (if you can call it that) and war. he seems passionate about what he's teaching. he rides a bike.
A fun teacher, with a challenging class. His tests are not easy, which he will be sure to tell you. He mixes an otherwise boring subject up with various jokes. No homework aside from reading. Got me somewhat interested in history, and taught me a lot. Likes the darker side of history.
Great guy, great class. His tests are fair, some questions are easy while others are more difficult, but all in all, a very reasonable balance. His lectures are interesting and if your willing to put some effort into it an A or B with his extra credit should be a breeze. However, if your lazy, this isn't the class to take.
Outstanding instructor! Mostly lazy and inept students have a problem with him, but, then again, but "actual" students have problems with his detractors in all MC classes! Most students who try and read will do well--indeed, he will give those who excel coffee cards from Starbucks! So quit complaining and take someone who actually cares and real
The most influential educator (he is much more than a mere professor!) I have had in my fourteen years of school. He is compassionate, passionate, and really eager to help those who actuallly care. I think his negative rap comes largely from those who don't want much more than an easy grade and he won't compromise his standards for anyone. I tru
Lets you buy your grade. Extra cred trips are betwen $50 and $100 each. Buy them all (about $750), and you can fail your midterm AND final. His tests are based more on the lecture than the book, so pay attention. Interesting personality, fairly interesting lectures, and doesn't count attendance. Just do well on the tests (or go on the trips).
go to class and go on all the trip or same and you will pass with c, or b if you want an a read the book too.
i think hes a good teacher! many dont like his tests, but if you study and listen in class there fine. hes a good history teacher!!
I don't know why everybody is complaining so much. Get up off your asses and study. I didn't go on a single field trip the entire semester and passed with a B. If you read, and know the material backwards and forwards, you'll have no problem in Mr. B's class. I enjoyed the class and learned alot. He shows videos and slides-take notes.
BROWN!! it one of the easiest and funniest classes ive taken! of corse i paid for all the field trips but they're worth the money .. it so much fun! take the class, its an easy A! just be ready to hear about drinking and getting high :)
I love this teacher. I am going on the Germany trip with him in May. If you go to class and read your notes/books, then you will pass. He offers a lot of extra crdeit, take advantage. His tests are a little hard but he has high standards for his students. He is sooooo funny. Just pay attention in his class, you will learn a lot. He's the best!
Didn't Buy the book, did poorly on the tests, went on all the field trips, and got an easy A. He's one the best teachers at Moorpark. Moorpark College, We Care.
Brown!!! Representing MOORPARK COLLEGE. Funny teacher, talks about life experiences (worth hearing) haha and lectures. If you like history take it somewhere else but if your a slacker... GO ON THE FIELD TRIPS AND HANG WITH BROWN! EASY C OR BETTER.
Dan your a funny guy and sweet but you class is a joke. 2 or 3 people actually pay attention. if you dont read you will fail, dont skip a chapter. lets be realistic if you dont have 500 dollars for the extra credit your screwed
Cool teacher, but very hard. You have to pay attention in class and read all the chapters and assignments. Extra credit is alot of money but worth it. Long lectures all the time, does not care about attendance, you can just give read on your own and give the exmas without coming to classes.
Professor Brown is the funniest teacher I have had in a long time. He makes class tons of fun, even when it's early. The first test I got a middle B, skipped the second test (dropped) and went on two field trips, then got a high C on the final and I ended up with an A...so just take notes and go on a few field trips :)
Thanks for wasting my time. He tries too hard to be funny. He should focus more on actually teaching something. His lectures are always off topic. His tests are way too hard and is on material he never covered in class. annoying.
Great professor, as long as you communicate he'll work with you. The class still requires much work with videos and reading text.
He's a hard teacher yeah, but its certainly not impossible to get an A. Just go on a few of the extra credit trips and come to class to take notes and you ll be good as long as you study
A great person, and a good teacher, but all the work depends on the student. I enjoyed the challenge of actually having to do my own work, but when you can, he is always glad to help in any way possible. He does tend to wander off subject for a moment or two, but he knows his stuff like the back of his hand. Good class if your a good student
Horrible. You are literally on your own. His lectures are so speedy, and you must decipher through them to figure the actual useful information (about 20%) that will be on the test. Studying like you never have before is more mandatory than attendance. Forcing kids to pay over 50 bucks per field trip just to pass the class is not my ideal prof.
Horrible Professor, Horrible Teaching Skills, Does not prepare you for a test, you are on your on in this class, bad study guides, expensive extra credit field trips, won't his students
Professor Brown is very intelligent, and encourages class participation. His tests are challenging but he provides ample opportunity for you to ask him about anything. Just read! It's not too hard. For a history major you will enjoy this class. The field trips are very fun and worth the money for the extra credit.
Overall, he knows what he is teaching and tests mostly off of lectures but if you want to pass, you need to read the text. Offers expensive field trips which is unfortunate, but if you are determined and actually read and go to class you will pass.
Mr. Brown is a helpful nice teacher, but that is about it. His tests are literally impossible and the only way, and I mean only way to get a B or higher is to go on EVERY field trip, and this costs $50-75 every time. If you don't mind paying for your grade, go for it, otherwise stay clear.
I got a C or less on every test and went to 2 fieldtrips and got a B in the class. He talks kinda fast, but won't make you feel stupid for asking to repeat or asking questions. When you go on the fieldtrips, make sure you get back on the bus within 5 min. of departure time. Me and my friend were 5 min. late but he came back. Overall, cool guy.
honestly, his actual class is impossible. but if you go on all of his field trips you will get an A (but you have to pay for them and they are on the weekends, very expensive and time consuming)
Awful snotty know it all who is boring. loves the sound of his voice and would not make it in the real world. class sucks. really! does not know anything about teaching.
Super!
