He is a new professor and is AMAZING! Each lecture he goes into depth and gives really good explanations on everything. He uses real life scenarios. Makes the class really interesting and enjoyable to learn. He gives extra credit and adds to lowest test grade. Tests are 35 questions and if you study you'll do great. TAKE HIM HES AMAZING!!!!
He lectures everyday from the PPTs. After each class, there's a Tophat question that you wouldn't get right unless you showed up. His tests were STRAIGHT out of the Powerpoints he posted, but a majority of his questions were insanely in detail (like there would be a question about one bullet point on one slide out of 40+ slides). Overall he's easy
In his first semester, he was exceptionally good at presenting the basic concepts of Risk Management and Insurance. It is clear that he came from a career in the field before teaching, and gives a ton of actual examples of all the theory. He's very open to helping students and is easy to talk to, even if not specifically about his course.
He's a great professor. He's kind, straight forward, and wants all his students to do well. He made this class interesting. Highly recommend
He was one of my favorite professors I have had in college. One of the nicest guys and really got the information out well. His test are pretty difficult but they are doable.
He is one of my favorite teachers I've had so far in college. He gives great lectures and is super relatable in class. Really nice guy and is very helpful. As long as you go to class and pay attention, you should get a good grade.
Show up because attendance counts, tests are pretty straight forward, study his power points thoroughly. He's an excellent teacher and will answer any question you throw at him
Lectures from powerpoints that he puts on eLC, but he often puts questions on the test from videos and topics not in the powerpoints. Very funny and relaxed professor, and has worked in the RMI field so he understands how everything works from a professional standpoint. Loves when you ask questions, and can always answer them.
Professor Brown did a great job of teaching the material as a intro level Risk Management class. He is knowledgeable of the topic and is willing to meet up with you during office hours to help you out! Powerpoints were useful and lectures were very interesting.
Really hard for an intro class. Tophat brings everyones grade down because its for accuracy and making an A on the test is almost impossible. He does give extra credit and the final replaces a test grade
One of my favorite professors at UGA. The tests are very straight forward and easy to make an A if you paid attention during the lectures and took notes. He gives a lot of examples from his work experience in insurance which makes the lectures interesting. I am taking him again for RMIN 5100 b/c hes such a good professor.
He has been my favorite professor at UGA thus far. He's extremely engaging during lecture, so they really fly by. Show up to class, study, and do the extra credit and you will make an A. Really great class.
Our grade consisted of 4 in class tests, an optional final, and one top hat question following each class. During lectures, Professor Brown was sometimes engaging and sometimes seemed bored. The material is complicated and there's a lot to study (3 to 4 20-40 slide power points per test, usually 30 slides, no study guide except for the final).
If you go to class and listen, it's really hard not to do well. There is a decent amount of information on each exam, but the questions are very straight forward. He posts his powerpoints and all the information on the tests is pulled straight from these. Easy A and i highly recommend.
Hes the best professor Ive had at UGA. I took this class for an elective, but Im switching my major to RMIN now.
Excellent professor. He really knows what he's talking about and does his best to make the subject interesting. 4 tests make up the majority of your grade along with in class tophat questions. The first two tests are easy but the next two are harder. Easy enough A if you study and pay attention in class.
I made the mistake of not trying at the beginning of this course which made it difficult to get a good grade, but an A is very attainable. Your grade is pretty much all tests. You take 5 and the highest 4 count, plus tophat and extra credit opportunities. Brown is awesome, really nice and has worked every job you can in insurance so he knows a lot.
Professor Brown was the best professor that I have ever taken at UGA. He cares about his students learning the material. The powerpoints help A LOT when studying for the tests. I never used the book and found his lectures to be very clear and well thought out.
I had no interest in studying risk management before this course, yet this was still my favorite class at UGA thanks to Professor Brown. He is absolutely hilarous and engaging in his lectures. No homework, TopHat for attendance, and 4 tests, and extra credit paper. Tests are straight from the notes. PLEASE TAKE HIS CLASS, you won't regret it.
Professor Brown is a great guy. He really cares about his students and wants them to learn a lot. That being said, I struggled with the content in this course. The content all sounds the exact same which makes studying difficult. Brown is great, but pick another elective. Its not an easy A.
Mr Brown gives amazing lectures and his tests are very fair. Take good notes on the lectures and you should be fine no textbook needed. Seems like a down to earth, cool guy I liked him a lot
I really enjoyed this class. Prof Brown has very entertaining and interested lectures. The tests aren't bad if you study. I would definitely recommend taking this class!
By far, my favorite class i have taken! The stuff you learn in this class WILL help you in real life and teaches you things that school should actually be teaching you. The class is not hard at all! He is so sweet and funny. His lectures are not boring at all. He does randomly call on people, but I wouldn't let that stop you from taking this class.
Decent teacher but when classes went online he made accusations of "widespread cheating" and tried to circumvent the academic honesty policy to scare students into admitting to collaborating on a test by threatening their future careers/graduation. Do not take this professor if you don't like being threatened and accused of cheating
Great professor up until classes went online. He accused the entire class of cheating on an open note ONLINE test and said that we have to turn ourselves in or else he will report us to the academic honesty office. I'm about to get a 0 for a test I did NOT cheat on which tanks my GPA and threatens my scholarship. So take him if you're into that!
Good professor until classes went online. Threatened the whole class of cheating and utilized scare tactics to get many to admit to cheating when they did not. Results in a 0 on an exam and to take mandatory final, or risk a failure in the class and reported to the academic honesty council. Who wouldn't play it safe and admit? Very manipulative...
Do not take this professor. After classes moved to online instruction, he accused many of cheating on an OPEN NOTE exam. He then strong-armed people into confessions by making an announcement threatening a 0 for the exam and that you must take the optional final. Loved this guy at the beginning but the handling of this was not right. 0/10
Started off really enjoying this class and his clear passion for the subject. He then accused most of the class with cheating on an OPEN NOTES test and threatened to give anyone who did not admit to using the online notes (yes lmao) a zero for the class. Should have been more clear in his expectation. It actually said "Open Notes." What a joke.
Professor Brown has been one of my favorite professors at the University of Georgia. Just go to class, study, and you should get an A. I have a lot of respect for him and how personable he made his class.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. After classes went online he accused hundreds of students of cheating due to ambiguous rules and used people's future jobs/classes to threaten them into confessing to things that were never specifically outlawed. If you enjoy stress and panic attacks take this professor
People make mistakes. Although I wish things were handed differently at the end of the semester, I still really enjoyed this professor's class. The information I learned is very useful. He's super engaging during lectures and even dressed up as Harry Potter. I am still going to sign up for his other class. Just know he does not play about cheating.
He handled the academic honesty thing a bit poorly. Don't let it stop you from taking him. Also, he doesn't like cheating obviously, but you wont need to. I really did start studying the day of the exam and made an A on every exam, even non-open notes in person exams. (covid-19 shifted classes online). The How to get an easy A is also my review.
Easy A if class is ever back in a physical class, but if online stay away. He will not let you cheat and if you do he will scare you until you confess. Evil online, but fun in person
Enjoyed this professor all year up until we had to go online because of Covid-19. After the last test online before the final he posted claiming academic dishonesty and gave students the chance to turn themselves in. Look to r/uga on Reddit for more info but this is a pretty interesting issue and is yet to be resolved.
Cheating is his big pet-peeve. The parameters of online testing guidelines during corona weren't entirely thought thru; a human mistake. Still the most knowledgeable and articulate lecturer I've had at UGA; this course encouraged me to add a RMN major. 4 tests, no HW, TopHat, optional final, would recommend, show up and you'll get at least an A-.
I really liked Brown up until the cheating scandal, but this quickly changed that. I did nothing wrong, but it caused me an incredible amount of stress. If youre that against cheating, then try to stop it beforehand. Waiting til it happens means you just like catching people. And stick to university procedure. Very disappointed.
Highly recommend! He is seriously a great lecturer and passionate about what he teaches. Tests are easy if you take good notes on examples he talks about and study powerpoints well! The only grades are tests and tophat and an optional final
All the 1 reviews are because of this whole cheating thing that happend. But as a teacher he is great. I would highly recommend the class itself too because it teaches about things you will definitely use in your real life. It's a class a feel like everyone should take just for the content too!
Tests are fair and lectures are engaging. He does call on people at random in class, but I wouldn't let that stop you from taking him. He is a great professor and tests are easy if you study powerpoints and notes! I would recommend him
Professor Brown is an excellent lecturer and human. His explanations are so clear and he's incredibly patient with questions. He makes himself very accessible. Probably the best professor I've had. I made sure to get him for 5100 next semester. The cheating thing was difficult, but he made it right in the end, and I have a lot of respect for him.
I think all the people who have a problem with him and this whole cheating issue are mainly people did have something to be worried about (not all of them). I agree it could've been handled differently but seriously take this professor if you have the chance!! He such a caring and down to earth guy. The class is useful and easy if you do your part
Easy and interesting class. Prof is funny and interesting. 4 tests, lowest one replaced with final, tophat points. No hw or extra assignments
Awesome dude. he gives great examples in class to help you understand the material. There are 4 tests plus an optional final. I would recommend attending class bc of tophat and his lectures are useful for tests. Dont try to answer tophat if youre not in class. He can see that and will give you a 0 for tophat if you try to pull that
Before this class changed to an online format, I really liked this professor because he was very straightforward with what was expected.. Due to COVID and after the change to online classes, this professor turned into a NIGHTMARE. Won't ever take him again! He was very unfair and not clear in any lectures or what was expected.
real nice guy and tests are easy. no textbook required, but definitely show up to class if you want to get an A
Easy A if you go to class and pay attention. 4 tests with an optional final that can replace your lowest grade as well has tophat grade
I really liked him. Just don't cheat and you'll be fine.
Tips for Professor Brown's RMIN4000 class: 1) You will be called on in-class to talk. If you have a fear of speaking or getting called on by a teacher, you might want to look into a different professor. 2) TopHat is a dear friend of his. Actually show up to class. 3) Do NOT even think about cheating. Overall though, I liked Brown. Hilarious guy.
4 exams and an optional cumulative final. Had a lot of respect for him until how he handled the whole cheating scandal. Lost all respect for him even though I still signed up for a class with him in the Fall because he is a great teacher. He took certain powerpoints off ELC just to cover for himself when he was trying to accuse students of cheating
One of the worst professors I've ever had. He's a nice guy, but just very strict as a professor. I like to either be able to learn at my own pace or have a class that is well structured so I know what's important. This professor gives you a mountain of information and then tests on very specific details.
Not worth it for an upper elective. He is so vague about what is on the exams. His tests require a lot of memorization of everything and its smallest detail. HARDER THAN ACCOUNTING 1! I don't recommend
I have taken lots of difficult classes, and for some reason this was the hardest to keep up with. His powerpoints are awful, his lectures are long and extremely boring. His homework questions are at a 4th grade level. His tests are straight memorization and extremely tricky. He doesnt curve at all and is a super strict with proctoring. Dont take.
homework, 4 tests and a final. You can drop one of the tests or the final. TopHat questions are easy, just remember to do them before Sunday each week. Professor Brown is nice and provides insight to the insurance industry. The class was interesting and I am glad I took it as an elective. The class is not too difficult but you will have to study!!!
Professor Brown is a patient and cool dude. Can be boring sometimes in my opinon, but it was probably because he was teaching to like 4 students and the rest were on Zoom. All I will say is pay attention in class and if he posts some kind of article, READ IT. You will see details from the article on an exam I guarantee it.
While Professor Brown's class was very lecture heavy, he did a great job making his class enjoyable. He was very knowledgeable about class information and gave many personal examples which made concepts much easier to understand. Tests were fair and were over class lectures. Additionally, he gave many opportunities to help improve your grade.
Solid, likeable. Class is not too difficult
If youre a RMIN major Prof. Brown should be your only option. Amazing knowledge of the insurance industry; he knows from firsthand experience what he teaches. 4 tests, top hat questions every week, and a optional final. Pay close attention to what he lectures and tests should be easy. Also, he is very accessible outside of class. Take him!
Solid option for RMIN 4000. He is clearly knowledgeable, and he makes insurance as interesting as possible. 5 exams, the lowest is dropped. Pay attention to things he says in lectures because they tend to show up on tests. Studied the slides and notes from lectures the night before and made A's on all of the exams.
Very solid choice for RMIN. Lecture heavy and weekly HW on tophat. Exams have small details from class, so go! Overall had a great experience.
Nice man. Likes to engage students in class. Test questions are extremely specific and all memorization based. Question wordings and answer choices are designed to trick you. If you don't know every exception and gray area of insurance you won't get an A. Obnoxious about proctoring tests and the possibility of cheating. Would not take again.
He's definitely a good choice for RMIN 4000 and 5100. Study hard for the tests because they're tricky but I think he curves them 5-7 points. He gives extra credit opportunities that can actually make a big difference in the grading scale. The group project is hard, takes a long time, and you have to do a lot of reading so don't procrastinate.
Professor Brown is cool, his lectures can be a drag sometimes though. The class is easy.
Professor Brown was super nice and available. He usually curves and provided several extra credit chances. Class was really easy for the elective, and you learn some basics of insurance.
Took his class in the Fall of 2020. He's willing to help his students. Class consists of 3 exams, 5 quizzes, weekly packback posts, and the business case study group project. He tells the class to go ahead and get the textbook but I barely used the textbook to study so I found the textbook not very useful. Case study project is long so start early.
Prof Brown teaches this class really well. He does daily TopHat so you basically have to go to class. He has a lot of experience and will answer any question you have. Some of the material is good sleeping sound but he's always a positive energy.
Professor Brown is a great guy. Tests were pretty easy, but you should pay attention in class and study before tests. Daily TopHat questions are worth 20% of your grade and the other 80% is 4 tests with an optional final exam to replace your lowest test. Not the easiest class you'll ever take but if you put in some effort you can get an A.
This class has 4 tests each worth 100 points and easy attendance questions worth 100 total points (the whole class is out of 500 points). There is also an optional final that can replace your lowest test grade. The class is lecture heavy but you just need the slides. You don't need the textbook at all. He is a try hard teacher but very easy.
His test are manageable if you actually study for it but they are hard. Even if you memorize the information it doesn't matter cause you actually have to understand the material to answer the questions. Exam one is pretty easy so you should try scoring as high as possible in that, exam 2 is hard, exam 3 is the toughest and weighs more.
He uses TopHat, so go to class, if you pay attention in class you don't have to study as hard. he goes over the material well. He cold calls on students sometimes but its not too bad. He is approachable and nice. He cares. There are 4 exams and the final was optional. He gave extra credit opportunities, they are easy, DO THEM.
Professor Brown can stretch the lectures for longer than they need to be but makes sure that every individual understands the concepts and is a great professor and individual. Attendance is 20% of your grade through TopHat so it is very important to show up to class, but aside from that pay attention and look back at powerpoints before tests.
Good class with useful information, but it got a little boring. Mostly just gave lectures from PowerPoints, and there were few assignments.
Prof. Brown is a very good teacher. Class is based on tests and attendance but he offers a good amount of extra credit. His tests are straight forward based on lecture. Was not interested in risk until I took his class.
First off, I took this class as an in-person maymester so I'm not sure if his regular class is the same. Calls on everyone in class at least once a class period, tests are straightforward, 4 tests, in class tophat questions are graded, extra credit opportunities, overall a very interesting and useful class. Best prof I've ever had!
He will call on you in class, does TopHat but is very straightforward in lecturing. Talked to him at the end of the semester if he could open up a seat for me in 5100 bc I liked his teaching that much. He's awesome
I really like professor brown and this course. He makes his lectures interesting, however, this class is very difficult for me. The tests do not line up well with the slides gone over in class. I have never gotten below a B in a class and I currently have a C in this class. I study for hours and go to class and still perform poorly.
Awesome professor, would take it again. Super nice guy.
Professor Brown>>> He's super nice, and yes, he cold calls, but it's honestly nothing to worry about. This class is pretty much just like LEGL2700; just attend the lectures and take notes on the examples he uses. There is a textbook, but it's not really needed. I recommend you take his class if you're looking for an Upper Division elective.
Like everyone else has said, he does cold call but in a way that is not intimidating at all! Trust me, I hate it in other classes but I really looked forward to coming to his! He also explained the topic in a very digestible way and in my opinion the tests were pretty straight forward. He says exactly what is expected of you.
Prof Brown is really cool. His lectures can be slow at times but he knows so much about insurance from his job experiences and hearing about some of his experiences is the coolest part of the class. The tests are not easy by any means but if you go to class and study hard you can make a good grade.
Dindt think insurance could be interesting but it was such a useful class, Dr. brown taught many things that are actually applicable outside the classroom in the real world. Tests are based on his slides and he always makes it clear what is expected from you. Lectures are great cause he does a really good of explaining difficult concepts.
Wth with the stupid tophat??
He's a really sweet man and does a great job explaining concepts and giving examples. I also learned a lot of helpful information applicable outside of the classroom. Exams really aren't hard. Just reviews slides and remember examples he gives in class. There's tophat everyday so go to class, but his lectures are engaging so it's not bad.
surprisingly interesting class. He's really nice, and explains difficult concepts well. no homework, tests aren't too hard just study the powerpoints and in class examples. he takes attendance for a grade so go to class.
Simply put, he is one of the nicest professors you will have and will do everything in his power to help you succeed and engage with the material.
Professor Brown will hands down be one of my favorite professors I'll have at UGA. He is SO nice & his lectures are very interesting. He wants you to understand the material and he is so knowledgable about the subject matter because of his past experiences. He does cold call, but I don't mind because it keeps you engaged. Great guy & class overall
Prof. Brown is great, it is extremely lecture-heavy but manageable and straightforward. 5 tests (including final), lowest is dropped. TopHat for attendance. Lectures are solid and thought-provoking. Prof. Brown knows his stuff and doesn't intend to make the course/tests harder for no reason. Great course, recommend for upper div electives.
Go to class; tophats are easy and show up on exams. Brown is nice but cold calls. It's predictable b/c he goes down the row; I was lucky and he hardly called on me, but it's okay to get answers wrong, he never makes it a point to embarrass you. Take notes from slides & his examples to study for exams and this class is easy; made me an RMIN major!
Awesome guy! Great accessible notes, and graded by participation and then 4 split up tests. Final is optional and can replace a test grade. Show up! The slides are all on ELC but he'll usually talk more in depth about stuff and learning that helps a lot on tests. Tests are MC and fairly straightforward. Really great prof!
Very organized class but tests feel like they come up quick. Lot of content is covered but none is to stress about. All application but Dr. Brown gives a lot of examples and makes the class very interesting. Hope UGA gives this man a raise every year as he deserves it.
I loved Dr.Brown!!! Your grade is based on 4 exams and an optional final( can replace lowest test grade) and participation via tophat. He is super helpful during office hours and care about his students a lot. Pay attention and take detailed notes during class and study for the tests and you will do great!! I loved this class, HIGHLY recommend!!
Easy but interesting upper division Terry elective - grade is comprised of 4 exams (optional final) and TopHat attendance (a few extra credit opportunities were provided throughout the semester, too). Professor Brown is incredibly knowledgeable and engaging; he cold calls but not in an intimidating way. Take detailed notes, and you'll be fine!
Loved Brown. He made me like RMIN as a major. His lectures are heavy but closely correlate with the tests. He tells you what will be on the test so its not a hard class. Minimal math.
Brown really made RMIN enjoyable! This class taught me a lot about insurance and how to prepare for risks. Brown was fair about grading and tests, but he calls randomly in class. The course is test-dependent. Come to class and be prepared for him to make use of class time, but he makes sure you understand and leaves room for questions.
It was an easy class as long as you listen to the lecture and take notes
He knows his information well and this is a good professor overall. There are 4 exams 20% each and Tophat participation 20%. He shows videos and gives examples in class that aren't in the slides but on exams, he cold calls in class, and the Tophats weigh heavy on your grade. No homework, exams are somewhat tough and you have to study a good bit.
His lectures are interesting and he is a great professor. He cold calls, but does it in a less intimidating way. You are graded on exams and tophat only (5 exams total including final, but lowest one gets dropped), so each weighs 20%. His tests are easy if you listen to lectures and study hard, its all memorization. Take him.
Prof Brown is really good. Content is easy to understand and his lectures make sense. Only thing for me was that there are 5 total exams (lowest one gets dropped), meaning a test every 2.5-3weeks so it can feel like you are always studying for a test. Overall fine class
Took this as an upper division terry elective and it was kind of just a pain. You are only graded on exams(33 MCQ) and top hat attendance. The exams were like every two weeks so I felt like I was always studying. He cold calls too. But, if you are required to take this class for your major, Brown was a good teacher and pretty engaging.
I found the class interesting and manageable, but you are only really graded on tests and TopHat so you definitely have to put in the effort. I loved going to the lectures because prof Brown is funny and personable. Overall, loved this class and would definitely take from him again.
I took Professor Brown last semester. He is hands down one of the best professors I have ever had. He gives you all the resources you need to succeed. You will do great if you go to class and read your textbook! Definitely take Brown!
Professor Brown's RMIN4000 class is engaging and manageable. The grading is fair, with exams and TopHat participation. I found Unstuck ai and the detailed notes from class helpful for acing the tests. Overall, a great upper-division elective!
Don't buy the textbook it's useless, he's a cool guy but definitely serious and never lets class out even a little early. IMO he takes his job way too seriously and cold calls, but the class is not that bad and a decent upper division elective.
Could not recommend this class enough. Very important life info and he delivers it in a way that is super easy. Others complained of exam frequency but exams required fairly little studying, maybe an hour or two per test. Calls on students at random but 90% of the time he asks you something anecdotal or the answer is on the board. best class fs
Not gonna say this class is a guaranteed A but you'd be crazy if it took exorbitant amounts of effort to get one. frequent exams but he tells you exactly what tripped students up. Great lecturer with experience in the field. Cold calls in class but we're all adults so that's no issue, right? Definitely would take again if I wasn't graduating
He was a great professor! Really important life information in this class and you can tell he really knows his stuff. Class was all lectures but engaging. He cold calls but its not scary. Class is mandatory but it is really helpful to go. There are four tests not including the final, and you have to study but they aren't too bad. Hes awesome.
He is awesome, the topics are relatively interesting and good to know in general. Tests are not horrible but not great, he also cold calls but most of the questions are common sense. He makes his lectures very interesting though
Pay attention, he cold calls a lot. tests are not bad but progressively get harder
Brown is SO easily to follow along with, he does cold call but he always makes sure you know the answer when its your turn. He is so funny and personable and kept me engaged so easily. Tests are not too bad and he gives extra credit on 3 out of 4 tests. He is awesome!!!
TAKE HIM!!! He is such a good professor, and the content is super useful for everyday life. He keeps class as entertaining as possible and gives you all the resources needed to succeed
Prof Brown is a great professor, but also just a very good person in general. He gives out 3 whole percentage points of extra credit. Tests can be tricky, but go to class and ask questions, and you'll be just fine. He cold-calls, but in a non-intimidating way. He shared his life story with us in one class, which nearly made me shed a few tears.
I loved Professor Brown! He understands that people take this class for both their major and for an elective credit, so he makes the class challenging enough while also giving lots of extra credit. He is very engaging, funny, and approachable. Go to class for TopHat credit. Would highly recommend!
Overall a great class. I learned a lot about risk management and found it super interesting even though its not my major. Great choice for an upper division terry elective. Dr. Brown has great stories too
Amazing professor! All of his lectures are super engaging and the class is easy if you pay attention in class and study the notes for the tests.
Very engaging lecturer, covers lots of material very clearly. Grades are just attendance with top hat and 5 exams (including a final) with the lowest exam dropped, so you can skip the final if you do the first four. Be prepared to get cold called during lecture, but they're usually easy questions
Professor Brown is great! He's an engaging lecturer and makes the content easy to understand. Attendance is mandatory, 20% of overall grade (tophat). 5 tests (including final) and he drops the lowest one. He also gives a fair amount of extra credit, up to 3 points on your final grade. I'm literally taking him again for another class next sem lol
Do not take this as an upper division elective. 4 mandatory exams and an optional final. Prof Brown is a good lecturer but the content is so boring and repetitive. This is like a legal class but in insurance terms. Way too difficult for an "introductory" course. Exams are hard and all scenario based. I had like 25 pages of notes for just one exam.
Mr. Brown was great and recommend him for 5100S. He offers a ton of extra credit which saves you, do everything he offers. Test are hard but manageable if you study, recommend reading the book. They get harder each time. 6 surprise quizzes but they always happen when you finish a chapter so you can estimate when they will be and there is a drop.
great lecturer, funny and nice guy that knows his stuff. go to class as all tests are based on lectures, can be somewhat difficult but not really if you take good notes.
So fun and really knows what he's talking about! The only thing is, is you are only graded on tests and attendance and the tests are extremely difficult. Only take this if you need to take it because it's not the blow off class or common sense material that it seems like at the start.
Brown is in the right profession. He knows his stuff, keeps class interesting, and explains everything in detail. His course structure is very well designed and easy to understand where you stand. Could not recommend his class more; you learn lots of practical life knowledge about auto, life, health, and homeowners insurance among other fun topics.
Professor Brown is the GOAT!! Learned a ton in his class at a very reasonable difficulty and he is awesome. I can't recommend him enough
Professor Brown is THE BEST professor I've ever had at UGA. It's very obvious that he cares about teaching. His office hours are very helpful and he also provides guidance for things like interviews and internships. He gives LOTS of extra credit, has 6 pop quizzes throughout the semester - and there is a huge group project. 2 big tests and a final.
He's a great professor. He'll stress at the beginning of the semester that the class is really really difficult, but it's honestly very reasonable. TONS of extra credit. The group project is intimidating, but as long as you start early with a good group you'll be just fine.
The class was bit difficult but he gives out a good amount of extra credit to make up for it. He's also a professor who encourages you to learn rather than just to memorize the material which I liked. As long as you stay on top of the group project you should do fine, just do not fall behind or your grade will tank.
