great
what an amazing lecturer!!
So this class even though it says its 100% online it is not. The final needs to be taken in person which clearly makes it not 100% online. Also you need to make a video presentation of yourself and post it on d2l. ehh not what i was looking for on a online course and i have taken many online classes!!
Great choice for Government. Very note-taking heavy but they are what you need to know for both essays and journals done as homework assignments. Had no problems. I recommend taking pictures of the notes with your phone as he does go a bit faster than standard writing speed.
Good class, easy out of class work. Chill professor.
Yo! He's the best! If you read over the chapter before attending class you'll be able to keep up with him during lectures and gave the final review weeks before exam date. As for homework, there were 5 essays and 3 political journals through out the semester, I personally didn't like the amount of writing involved but still made A's.
I wouldnt recommend taking this class. There are five 1,000 word essays and three eight page research journals. There is only one cumulative test at the end, but he does a stressful review for it before every class that includes randomly selecting students and asking them one of hundreds of questions. There are also pop quizzes very frequently.
I wouldn't recommend taking this class. There are five 1,000 word essays and three eight page research journals. There is only one cumulative test at the end, but he does a stressful review for it before every class that includes randomly selecting students and asking them one of hundreds of questions. There are also pop quizzes very frequently.
Despite the fact that he gives a good amount of work he is a very good professor. He goes through lecture slides every day during class and is really good at explaining everything. There are essays, pop quizzes, journals but if you don't procrastinate it comes out to be a very easy class. I would definitely take him again!
Professor Cooper does an amazing job of making sure his class knows about Federal Govt. However, the work load is ALOT. 5 1000+ word essays & 24 article reviews, plus unpredictable pop quizzes. 1 cumulative exam worth 25% of your grade. Everything is from the book & lecture. Class is interesting but it is ALOT of work. Dont take him if you slack.
Really great professor and knows how to teach. I personally had a good time in this class and feel like I learned a lot. But, if you're not willing to try, don't take this class. There's lots of homework (not hard at all, just time consuming) and random pop quizzes that require reading ahead.
Average professor at best. He taught mostly from his chair in the corner and didn't have a lot of in class activities (making class boring). Was unnecessarily difficult and withheld giving extra credit--even for course evals. No tests except final so make sure you learn the material throughout the semester. Teach yourself the material basically.
He was a good teacher, the essays had to be exactly 1,000 words or he would give you a failing grade. But he was a over all good teacher.
Despite his good rating here you shouldn't take him for Texas Government. His grading is all out of whack... He grades major assignments on out of 3 so if you mess up a little you automatically get dropped a letter grade. His lecturing is decent. He is a huge stickler when it comes to deadlines and gives a pop quiz almost every other class.
Work load is ALOT! He gives you time to finish your work but if you are a procrastinator I highly recommend you do not take this class. He requires you to read the textbook online before class, on the chapter he will be teaching that day. That said, he gives pop quizzes on what you should have read and are learning that day. Strict on deadlines
This professor made us write a 5,000 word essay... I did not even have to do anything like this in English II which should say a lot! The grading rubric is completely unreasonable. And guess what? I have never felt compelled to write a review about a professor anywhere till now! That should also say a lot... his class is my most stressful class
I took him for both Tx & Fed Gov, and it was not a tough class if: read chapters before class, ready for pop quizzes on random stuff from the readings, make sure essays are more than 1000 words and journals are more than 100 words. He does assign time consuming work, but if all requirements are met, it's an easy A, generous grader if so.
If you ready to write 5000 words research paper, take this class. Only the final test and its covered whole you studied. He will not understand your situation if you got trouble in life to get an excuse from him. He is the worst teacher Ive ever taken.
He requires so many journals and gives out many pop quizzes. The lectures arent exciting but the class is simple enough to pass if you read and follow along every day.
worst professor ive ever had, do not take this class.
great teacher, not hard at all!!
He is not a professor that will help you. He is a professor that cares only about getting paid and not truly helping his students succeed. Even if you explain to him trouble you had about why you kissed an assignment he does not care. He is the WORST he made an easy class hard by simply barely giving work which means if you slip up your done.
There was a lot of work to do BUT he had it all laid out and organized so you knew exactly what and when things were due. He did not accept late work so be careful not to miss deadlines. His class was easy because his assignments were so prepared and ready to go, so if you get an F, you definitely have no one to blame but yourself.
I loved this professor! Very organized and good lectures. Lots of journals and quizzes and essays but is an easy grader. JUST FOLLOW THE WORD COUNT FOR HIS ESSAYS AND JOURNALS. Enjoyed his class.
Grades you on a very few assignments. If you miss even one thing it can be doom for your grade. Quizzes and tests are very short and more detailed than the book gives you.
Thought this was going to be an easy online class. Everything is due on Saturdays at 7 am. 13 quizzes, 2 essays, 5 discussion posts, and 2 Exams and a final. All quizzes and the first 2 Exams can be done online with a lockdown browser. Final exam has to be done at a testing center. Don't miss anything because he will not allow you to retake anythin
Cooper has very good lectures, he loves to help his students and helps you study for test. And He makes the class interactive
A large portion of the learning is from reading the textbook at home. There are no class activities, but if you want to pass, you must pay a lot of attention to the lectures. He does not accept late assignments. It is never clear what will be included on the exams. There is a large number of problems with this professor.
Professor Cooper is very easy going. He lets you know exactly what you need to do to pass the class and he has mini reviews at the start of every class session. His lectures keep you engaged the entire time. There are 10 quizzes, 3 essays, and 3 tests. As long as you follow the instructions and try a bit you should get an easy high B or A.
Took Government 2305 online during a summer session. Grading wasn't terrible as long as you FOLLOW DIRECTIONS. He followed the syllabus which is important for a class that was 6 weeks long. He graded everything in a timely manner.
If you remember everything from high school gov, this class under Cooper will be a cakewalk. You won't have to open the book at all. Just pay attention to the lectures and take notes, preferably on a laptop. Only 3 absences allowed. Definitely not "chill" though. He's always late to class even though it starts at 10. Come on dude. Not even early.
Great professor! Funny, good lectures, gives mini reviews each class that help a lot. Three papers, three exams, and short simple quizzes through the semester.
He is a great professor! The way he gives his lectures makes it easy to understand, are very clear and straight forward. Before he starts each lecture he does a quick review on the current chapter that you're reading and are usually things that will be on the test. I 100% recommend him.
This class is super easy and all you have to do is read the textbook, and show up. There are like ten total 5 question quizzes that you do online before you come to class over the chapter so youre prepared. I really enjoyed this class because his lectures are great. As long as you show up to class and take notes youll be prepared for tests.
I really enjoyed Professor Cooper's Italian class. He teaches many different to engage many different learning styles. I found the class to be challenging but not overwhelming. I will take his ITAL1412 next semester.
He is inconsiderate, he does not care about his students. A tough grader, too much to read and too many homework. I regret taking his class and will not recommend for anybody. He is the second most horrible professor i have ever met.
I've never had a C in my life and I got a C because this man does not teach a single word for the ONLINE class. it's awful. the tests suck and everything is lockdown browser with webcam even though a lot of people don't have a webcam. WORST professor and worst class. Now I have to take this again for my GPA. I cried myself to sleep every night.
I really enjoyed Beginner Italian (1411 & 1412) with Professor Cooper. It is a little test heavy but that's necessary as a language class. He keeps the class fun and interesting by adding information about Italy's culture and politics. The presentations required are hard. I would absolutely take his class again.
The entire time I was in this class, I did not hear from Professor Cooper. He doesn't even deserve to be called a professor. I did not pay almost 700 dollars to be taught by a textbook. His grades revolve around two tests, and five quizzes that you have to take every other day. This is the worst professor I have had my entire two years of college.
Prob the hardest class I've ever taken in my 2 years of college. I don't know how it is in person but I took his online class-he doesn't teach a thing. Everything we "learn" is from the textbook and there's way too much material to soak up every week before the weekly quiz. He has 3 exams, 100 questions each and they're impossible. So much work.
Professor Cooper gives 3 homeworks, 1 inquizitive, a test due on Sunday each week. During the semester, there would be 2 exams, which are the midterm and final and this professor wants/requires his students to use webcam, which some students don't have. All of this can be stressful. Professor Cooper is one of the worst professors i've ever taken!!!
This professor does not teach a thing. There was no engagement with students, we only heard from him when he posted an announcement over tests. You learn by reading the textbook and the chapters are long. Exams are horrible, proctored & 100 questions each. Hw each week includes reading, Inquizitive, and 3 quizzes which are not too difficult.
I accidentally read the wrong professor when I enrolled into his class. He doesn't teach a single thing!! There's not a single lecture that's uploaded. You have to soak in every individual word in the textbook, and his exams are 100 questions each. It's ridiculous. My GPA will suffer because I'm not being taught anything. He's not worth the $300!!
This was one of the easiest online classes I took! However, there is a lot of reading to be done. The grades consist of weekly quizzes, along with 2 or 3 other assignments. Tests were about 100 questions, and he only assigned 3 (1 being the final) throughout the semester. You will be okay in this class as long as you read the chapters.
I took his in-person class. Lectures are extremely helpful, he makes it interesting and easy to understand. He does not use the standard textbook instead, he uses OpenStax which is free. Also gives an outline of each chapter, that he teaches, from the textbook. He's very organized and grades fast. Also not a hard grader. Not too many assignments.
I took a 3 week mini-mester. The professor does respond timey, he is very understanding if there is technical difficulties. The amount of hw is large but thats expected with a 3 week class. His grading is straightforward, everything is 25% so even if you bomb the final everything else will make up for it. I would take again!
I didn't choose this professor, I was switched to this professor for unknown reasons. This class was fairly easy until the final that had 100 questions. There are no PowerPoints or lectures provided to prepare for the final, so you have to teach yourself the material with the textbook and site that you have to buy access to. Find another professor.
I took this online class for the 3 week mini-mester. It wasn't completely bad as everyone else says, but not good. You can find online help for all the assignments on google. Inquisitive was required and the final was 100 questions. (Timed and webcam).. I didn't choose this professor and wouldn't recommend.
There are a lot of tests however, I enjoy how he teaches Italian. He shares songs in Italian to us and we translate it, we do memorization games, we do conversation practices. Overall amazing class because he teaches in English and Italian so that we can learn Italian better. I recommend taking him for Italian class.
this class was super easy. there's alot of assignments but all you have to do is complete them to get an A. the hardest thing is the exams but their not even that hard. they're long but the questions are pretty easy and you get plenty of time to complete the exam.
This class was for federal government. It wasn't bad. Not very many assignments. Overall pretty easy. I took the hybrid class, so the lectures were covering a lot of stuff because there's less of them. But the assignments are not bad. You just have to pay attention in class and read the textbook.
The Italian class was awesome. It was hard, but I liked it a lot. I just wish Ital 1412 was offered every semester.
This class was not easy but profesor cooper was very helpful. I had some hard thing in my life going on and he worked with me so i could finish everything. there are a lot of assingments but nothing is that hard if you read the book and ask for help when you need it
Professor Cooper has lots of lectures but they a interesting and sometimes funny. Not very many assignments, which is good if you get a good grade on them. As long as you come to class and take notes its easy to get a B. Study too and you can get an A..
Honestly I took professor cooper for Italian and government. Italian was much harder, but it was also more fun because of the subject matter. There's a lot to do, but it's like that for any language class. I learned a lot
This class was great. Profsesor Cooper was very engaging with the lecture part of the class. He made the subject more interesting for me. I didn't like government before and I still don't really like it that much, but I like it better now and I understand it now. The homework is easy and the tests are not bad if you come to class.
I liked how this class was organized, everything was very simple and easy to follow. I always knew what I was supposed to do. Some other reviews say this class was hard, but it wasn't. The exams were long, but the questions were all easy if you read the book. All the homework and quizzes are open book so it was easy to get 100% on those.
I took this class as an online minimester. I love how it was organized. I always knew what my grade was. Much better experience than alot of classes I've taken. Political journals are short and easy. Overall, great class
All the assignments were clearly organized and the professor graded quickly. I always knew what i should be doing which helped me a lot. Would recommend this professor
I really like professor Cooper's perspective on things. He makes you think about things in a new way. He's also an easy grader which is nice. There are some short quizzes for each chapter, a few exams, and some political journals. You just have to read the news and write something short about it. Easy class and interesting.
I took professor Cooper's online Texas gov class. It's more work than his in person federal government class, but it's still pretty easy. All the homework including the quizzes are open book. You can get perfect scores on everything. Except the exams. Exams are harder, but not too bad. They are long, but if you read the book, its not too bad
I loved this class, I'm Italian, so that helps. The professor made the material enjoyable and easy to pick up. Had a lot of fun in this class
THis professor made the boring government more enjoyable for me. Easy class, easy A, not many assignments. Just come to class and skim the book and you'll get an A. He gets on tangents in lectures sometimes, but it was fine
Online class. Lots of assignments, but all pretty easy. Professor wasn't as entertaining online as in person, but that's normal I guess. Not hard to get a good grade if you do the homework.
Italian was a lot of fun, but harder than I thought it was going to be. I liked this class lot
Super easy class. Just read the book and its an easy A. Not very much homework at all
Be prepared for lots of homework. It's easy, but you have to stay on top of it. Exams are harder, but they balance out with the other easy assignments. Professor Cooper responds to emails fast
Lectures were great, always interesting. Professor Cooper does a review at the beginning of each class. Some people don't like it, but I thought it was really helpful to keep all the new info fresh until the exams. Overall, easy class
This class was pretty straightforward. Everything you need to do is clearly laid out. TX Gov isn't my favorite subject, but the readings weren't bad. Assignments were easy. Tests were a little hard, but I used Inquizitive to study beforehand like Prof. Cooper recommended and it helped.
He keeps the lectures really interesting, not a boring class to take. Average workload homework wise. Tests are pretty tough and long.
Class was easy, just read the book and take notes in class
I hate goverment but he made it interesting. Some of the quizzes were kind of hard but oberall it was a pretty easy class Just a normal amount of work. you have to read the book though everythngi comes from the book
I took Texas gov. Lots of homework, but it was all easy. I've had some classes with more, so not crazy. He grades easy too, so as long as you do the homework and take the quizzes you can get an A. If you want to do no work at all, this isn't the class for you, but if you expect a decent amount of work and a good grade at the end, this is it
prepare to write political journal in this class
Great professor. Very easy just be sure to go to the class and read the textbook. Also the textbook being online helped alot! Tests are a little tricky be sure to pay attention.
If you prefer listening to lectures for 80 mins straight than he is for you. He doesn't have much assignment options because of which it is really hard to get a good grade in his class. HE DOES NOT GIVE EXTRA CREDIT AS WELL. He also will not allow you to do a quiz again until unless you have a proof that shows you have had a technical error.
He keeps his lectures interesting and fun, I found his exams to be really heavy. Make sure to study, his reviews are not much help. He also offers extra credit that can curve your grade at the end of the semester. I recommend taking!
Professor Cooper is an amazing teacher he breaks down all the material you need to know for the exams in a way you can understand. He also responds to emails in a timely manner, I emailed him about some computer troubles I was having and was able to get a response and resolution within the first 24 hours.
I am currently ending my first semester of college while taking federal government and professor Cooper is an amazing teacher who is willing to help you when asked or needed. This class is very textbook heavy so make sure you read the textbook regularly!
Ensures you have the information to pass the class
His explanations are very easy to understand, and unless you don't mind reading that LONG textbook, you better go to class and show up early.
The lectures are really good and interesting.
You WILL have to read the textbook, but most quiz/exam questions are pretty easy if you read the materials and pay attention in class. Not a lot of assignments. Reviews at the beginning of class are super helpful. Overall, good prof. IMPORTANT: there are no visuals in his lectures, it's purely verbal with only a few terms written on the whiteboard.
Mr Daniel is one of the great professors. He explain everything, and ask if students have question.
Professor Cooper is a good teacher. you will have a clear understanding .
Very fair professor, he explains the material well to a level that makes sense without going too deep in elaborate detail. His method of teaching is effective that will help you succeed in the class if you put in the required effort.
Very put together class!
He is a good professor, some may not like his teaching style because is straight lecture and not many visuals but makes content engaging and easy to understand. The assignments are pretty easy and deadlines are reasonable. assignments wise the "Hardest" is political journals, don't do it last minute.3 exams,10 quizzes and 3 political journals.
He is a great professor, and explains the subject very well. But make sure to read and do the quizzes before class starts, and he also calls on students to answer questions.
His lectures are informative and easy to follow which definitely helped me understand the topic better. The reviews done at the beginning of class are helpful as well. You will have to read the textbook in order to do well on the quizzes and exams.
Honestly this was a really interesting class to take, and one id take again. Id mainly warn for people who don't do lecture style to think of a different professor, because even though we're going over material from the textbook, he's open to conversation and questions which I appreciated. Overall workload isnt bad if you pace yourself.
His lectures are great and very explanatory, but it not accommodate my learning style.
Really chill, don't forget about the quizzes that are before class, do good in the political journals, and tests and you will be pass the class, the tests are over everything viewed on the notes and lectures too.
Great instructor, reviews important topics, but didn't really fit my personal learning style. The class is based off everything in the textbook, so as long as you read it and pay attention in class you should be fine. He also calls on people to review certain terms in the beginning of class. Overall, makes great points, slightly difficult but fair
This professor is very good, he helps with whatever questions you may need and has many different ways of learning a chapter, not just reading the chapter. He does reviews in the beginning of each class that actually help a lot.
Participation is very important for this class. It is not a difficult class as long as you do your due diligence and read the textbook and pay attention during the lectures. The professor does a lot of student engagement exercises by calling on students to answer questions.
Professor Cooper is overall a great teacher. He will call on students at the beginning of class to review what we have learned up to this point. As well as having easy lectures that toughly explains what chapter we are discussing. On top of that assignments are not hard.
The class is lecture-heavy, but enjoyable. However, the teacher's monotone voice can be a hindrance. Please make sure to identify the material in advance before proceeding. to be prepared to give a clear description of the material when the calls you out.
Great teacher and good lectures.
attendence, then lecture, nothing more nothing less.
He was a great teacher enjoyed him will take him again
Get ready to read to stay along with material. As long as you are able to communicate with the professor, he will help in any way he can if effort is shown.
Took 3 week Minimester, at first course seems heavy in work but once you get the hang of it just do the work you will pass. Professor was EXTREMELY EASY and caring. Took this course during Texas Tornado, he extended all deadlines. Thank you Professor Cooper.
Currently taking his class, one thing he does is call on random people to answer questions about what we're learning about, so as long as you take notes and pay attention to the lectures you'll be fine. The lectures aren't too boring, he teaches well and the workload isn't too much I would recommend taking this class.
Very lecture heavy class. You get participation points. Extra credit is somewhat given. His teaching style is that he stands in front of the white board and will draw arrows from one word to the next. A lot of the test material is from the online textbook. The textbook chapters take forever to read. You are given a quiz every week over a chapter.
Professor Daniel Cooper had free access to our textbooks. We had ten quizzes, three tests, and three political journals. The quizzes were accessible if you read the text, and the test was straightforward if you paid attention to what he talked about. The political journal is accessible to write, and he gives you good feedback.
This class is very lecture-heavy, but if you pay attention, you'll easily understand the topics. He calls on people to answer questions aloud to review the information we have gone over in the previous classes. One of the assignments we had to do was political journals but if you manage your time you will be able to complete them efficiently.
Professor cooper was a great professor he made the lectures interesting and easy to pay attention. This was an easy class to take quizzes and assignments were easy.
I like this professor because he is able to lecture about government in an easy to understand way. There is a "study session" at the beginning of every class so that everyone can recall what they have gone over the past couple of weeks. It really sticks with you.
Assignments are easy, he provides a study guide for the tests which are honestly pretty vague and lengthy, so I didn't find it as helpful as I thought it would be. Overall he's not a bad teacher, but the main issue I had with this class is that he doesn't use power points at all, so it's kind of hard to take note of everything he talks about.
Pretty chill class but very informative. There are short quizzes over every chapter (only a couple questions) but they aren't difficult if you look over the textbook. You'll do fine with the tests as long as you listen to lectures and go over the study guide.
the professor put out less materials focus on main point prefect for study and no boring long PowerPoint.
I felt he really cared about our learning while he was actively teaching but before and after class prof felt just unapproachable and snooty. Tests are lecture and BOOK heavy, lectures are interesting and he does a great job keeping students engaged, there are political journals that are graded lightly if you show that you care. Gives extra credit!
Professor Cooper is a very cool teacher. His class is a class where you either need to jot down notes in class or read a whole chapter of the textbook in order to be able to answer questions on the exam. At the beginning of a class, you will be required to answer one question from what he thought in the previous class so be SURE to take notes.
Overall, he's not a bad professor. His lectures are great, but can get a bit boring since he doesn't use PowerPoints or any other tools besides a whiteboard and a marker. However, he's VERY unforgiving on grades/deadlines and I wish he taught from a more neutral perspective.
Course was very fun and easy in my opinion. Theres no long boring power points, definitely lecture-heavy but he explains everything very thoroughly and good he is very open to participation and questions in the beginning of every class there is a little review where he will ask people questions about previous chapters very helpful. Grading is clear
His lectures are great, very clear, straight to the point. A quiz once a week, a test like every other month. Easy class. I
He's a great professor, take his courses!
This professor is sweet seems like your average Joe and makes class fun he is alittle timid at first but as soon as he smiles you will get his sense of humor lol be ready to read and take notes
Overall he's a pretty chill guy. Makes jokes from time to time and is reasonable. Just make sure you read the chapters and go to the lecture and you'll be great. Overall I enjoyed the class because the lectures were enjoyable and the assignments outside of class weren't crazy hard.
Really chill professor. Participation does matter. There's a textbook, but you don't have to purchase it. He lectures the whole class time, but as long as you pay attention and read the textbook, you'll be fine.
This professor is pretty laid back, doesn't grade hard. There are only 3 tests, which is including the final. There are also three other assignments that are required which are journals, but it is one is due every month of class, so not too bad in my opinion.
overall good class, as long as you attend class and get your work done and submitted on time then you'll be fine.
He reviews at the beginning of every class, and then he lectures the rest of the class. There's no group work. He lectures with the whiteboard and writes minimal words, so you have to take notes. There's 10 quizzes, 3 journals, 3 exams. He is unsympathetic with deadlines so turn your work in on time. I really enjoyed the class and learned lot. :)
Overall the class isn't too hard just make sure you turn in your assignments in on time.
He was very chill and laid back. Honestly we didn't even have homework where we would stress out.
He is fair and impartial. Though he has a standard, life happens to us all. If you're committed to doing well in his course, you will do well in his course. Top 5 for sure!
Enjoyed the class, only issue I had was that chapter Quizes were do the day we started the chapter, and at 9 A.M. Caused me issues with forgetting to get them done on time. Other than that, Lessons are note heavy, but he allows you to use a computer to take notes. Thankfully you dont need a textbook, but you do need to read it or youll fall behind
I had a great experience with this professor in the 3 week winter mini course. All the quizzes and exams are on lockdown browser, but as long as you read the material, you'll do fine. Exams with webcam, quizzes timed, but no webcam, The journals are over daily news so that's a cool addition too! I'd take him again.
Not a very good instructor as he just relies on the notes most of the time. Lots of unnecessary homework and quizzes every class
He explains unfamiliar words very well, providing clear definitions and real life examples to enhance understanding.
Overall good teacher, no actual complaints about him himself. He teaches well and is able to elaborate on students' questions. Just make sure to study for test and go over the textbook between lectures. The subject itself is accumulatively hard
Professor Cooper is one of the better professors I can recall in recent years. At the beginning of the year, he provides a review that you can fill in as you go throughout the semester. Each class period, he reviews chapters, which can be intimadating at first, but very helpful for exams. REMEMBER TO TURN EVERYTHING ON TIME. & you will be fine 9/10
Professor Cooper is a good and fair professor. When it came to participation he was fair. If you participate in class every time, he would add 10 points to your final grade. The Journals he assigns use are pretty straight forward and good points for you final grade. Professor Cooper is pretty good when it comes to grading on time.
Overall, I really enjoyed Professor Cooper's class! His lectures were engaging with students; thus, learning the material was painless. I appreciate how he stayed apolitical when explaining topics that are often politically divided. Additionally, the reviews that he did in the beginning of class were a big help when preparing for the exams.
Professor cooper does not use power points for his lectures, he lectures and writes down the important details on the white board. This class also has fewer grades so each of them holds quite a bit of weight. The three grade categories are quizzes, test, and political journals.
Very Informative/Informed. Great at articulating words. Respectful and treats everyone the same, no matter the difference. Participation matters. Well spoken.
I enjoyed Professor Cooper's class. The lectures are very engaging and easy to understand. There are reviews at the beginning of each class which can feel a little intimidating but they help you with the test.
Really great professor and really approachable and was a wonderful class.
Was a wonderful professor really approachable and great class will recommend.
Doesn't use power points but prof Cooper only writes down topics of what he's about to talk about so the rest you have to listen and just type/write things in your own words. There is a participation grade which are review questions at the beginning of class. As far as grades, there are journals, quizzes, and test that hold a bit of weight to them.
great professor make sure to do all the assignments on time because you can't make up!
This professor talks fast, but his lectures are interesting. No slides, but writes down topics and then you have to listen and word it in your own way. I struggled, not because of him, but bc of my lack of interest in the topic. Political journals are tedious but can be done if spread out.
The professor is an engaging and captivating figure, though his grading is rigorous. However, if one submits quality work, there's little to worry about. Lectures are insightful, and content is always accessible. Engagement is key to grasping the material, and punctuality in assignments is crucial. Overall, an exceptional experience.
I believe the pace of his class is perfect and he goes in depth about all topics, usually relating them to current time topics which I think shows how intelligent he is on the subject he teaches
He goes into depth about all topics and relates many of them to current world topics showing a high level of understanding and intelligence in the area he teaches
There is a lot of assignments, and he does not empathise easily when you miss an assignment even if you had a reason, but his classes are straightforward and interesting. I learned a lot and I enjoyed his class!
Professor is well a teacher, every day there is a mini pop quiz to help understand the subject, usually it goes by attendance list. Professor doesn't grade in many things, just in four categories. He is not really compassionate about grading since it isn't difficult to do the assignments. Other than that the lectures are great.
Professor Cooper is well educated and seemingly passionate about government. He encourages class participation and is happy to go into hypotheticals. It seems like he is used to classes that just sit and listen passively. He lists all the homework assignments in the beginning of the semester, but he doesn't mention it much afterwards.
Professor Cooper is definitely not for every student, but he is straightforward about how he teaches and grades. He expects all of his students to read and study on their own time, and then participate during his lectures/ discussions. The only pet-peeve is at times I noticed a disconnect between his review and textbook.
hybrid summer class taken. met twice a week in person for 1.5 hours. most information is interesting. there are about 10 easy quizzes, a couple 100 word essays and three 50 multiple choice exams. this is a super easy class and would take again for sure
Lectures are to the point and easy to follow along. Teaches only with whiteboard and writes little, so TAKE GOOD NOTES. If you like connecting with your professors, pick someone else, this one isn't very approachable. No late work whatsoever. All the stuff for the tests will be covered in lectures so don't worry about the book at all.
Great professor, lectures are long but if you pay attention and take good notes you will do good. Doesn't accept late work, attendance is mandatory, and textbook is required because he quizzes you beginning of class. Other than that, he does not give heavy loadwork, and gives you reasonable time to complete assignments.Take him!!!
He was a great professor- he only gave lectures in the class time, so it was important to show up & take notes because they were very beneficial and helped me better understand the chapters. Though, he is strict with due dates, so if you miss one, there isn't much you can do since there's no late work. Also gave a free online textbook!
He's a perfectly normal professor. Honestly, I don't know much to say beyond this? Government is a class that most people have already taken in high school, and this is just a rehash of this. The textbook is free, and he expects you to know the material... but, come on, this is stuff we've already learned.
Prof. Cooper was great! His lectures were engaging and he answers questions in-depth. He connects the things we are learning to modern day unbiased. There are quizzes due 9am the day we start a new chapter and we have to complete "politics journals" every month, due at the end of the month, and 3-4 exams, which you can take at home with a webcam.
This course involves lots of reading, he provides interesting lectures, does not accept late work, the work is very light it mainly consists of reading the textbook. Professor Cooper is a great Professor and I would take his class again if given the opportunity.
There is a free textbook, but as long as you pay attention to the lecture and take good notes, you should be fine. He does call on people at the beginning of class, but it is topics we have already discussed in class.
Professor Cooper is a good teacher. He explains the textbook in class and reviews the last lesson at the start of the next one. If you finish the assignments and quizzes, you'll do fine.
I've yet to complete my course, but overall he is very informative & passionate about his learning. the lectures are long yes, but it's insightful & helpful.
Yes and I would take the class again
The proffesor giving out clear lectures, does not take any late works, and take attendance as mandatory.
