First off, if you didn't get an "A" in his class, it's only because you're a flake. The class is very easy as long as you put in a minimum amount of effort into the class. As for him, he is very friendly, approachable, and funny. Extremely nice.

This is an easy class if you do the work. You really learn a lot from Dubray and he's really such a nice guy. Take this class and you'll see what I mean. It is very hard to get a B and impossible to get a C.

If you hate public speaking like I do, then take this class. You'll still have to give speeches but Dan makes the experience bearable. He uses interesting games and techniques to show how different groups of people interact with each other. He loves teaching and it shows.This is one of the best classes and teachers I’ve ever had.

Dan is a great teacher! He does lecture through powerpoint but he tries to make it fun. His Group Discussion class is great. There is one major project that is worth alot of points. Easy class. All tests are on-line. One major project and several small in class assignments, all of which were really easy. He speaks well (hope so for a communications professor) and is always in a good mood in class.

His class is pretty easy although there are about 5 to 6 tests and assingments; only 3 stand up presentations and you are allowed a full page (back and front) for notes to use during tests. Attendance is mandatory but don't worry time flies in this class (allowed to miss 3 times before her starts deducting points).Esy A

Wow! What a great guy. Dr. DuBray is so helpful and sincere. What a great person to have on the faculty. He is always pleasant and smiling, even when he is sick! In order to really succeed in this class, one MUST do all the homework! I'm glad I did, as I got the second best grade in our class, 4 points from the leader! Work with him, he is amazing!

DuBray is an excellent teacher. He is very open to students and tries to help all the time. One of the most optimistic/enthusiastic professors on this campus. This class is slightly demanding. Six-Page essays about every two weeks. Online quizzes and exams. But, nonetheless, I recommend this teacher to the fullest. Great teacher.

I took Professor DuBray's class for interpersonal communication. Right from the start he was so kind and easy going. I think it is safe to say that he is VERY easy going. I was absent a few times and he was so understanding and he was really generous in making reasonable accommodations. Participation is HUGE, though. He likes class conversation.

Fun and kind professor. Assignment and quizzes are not hard if you read the book and review the lecture slides. Group discussions are often in class.

Super easy A. 3 online exams taken directly from the study guide, very easy grader on speeches. Can miss 4 classes; any more results in a deduction of 25 per from your participation. Must attend speech days in case you have to give feedback, which counts for grade. Final was a 2 minute, no note card recitation of a short story of your choice.

Intercultural comms with Dubray was a breeze. Grades on attendance, participation in online discussions, a few short papers, and online exams. Show up, listen and follow along on lecture handouts, and do the few assignments and you'll easily pass!

Its not about getting an A as a grade in this class. You actually learn a lot from him. You learn not to be nervous when speaking in public. You learn to write an outline. You actually feel good about yourself after his classes. Isn't that enough and better than getting an A. By the way you can still get an A dont worry.

Professor Dubray is one of my favorite professors at CRC! He's the one you want to take if you're hesitating to take a COMM class. I learned a lot about how to work with my stage fright when presenting and how to write a good outline. It's easy to pass if you attend, do the outlines and present, and participate in other's speeches.

SUCH an easy class! I reccomend this prof, he is funny and is clear on what he wants. He gives you alot of time to complete assignments. The book was only helpful to me when I took the online quizzes (which I think there are only like 4 or 5.) Attendance is HUGE, I would have gotten an A if I didn't miss so much class.

Excellent professor! Anyone who does not take him for Comm301 is missing out. He is very clear in what he expects out of each assignment. Tests were all from the study guide he provides. Show up to class everyday, turn in all assignments on time, do all your speeches on your assigned day, and you will get an A in the class.

Taking this class really helped me improve on my speech skills when writing/organizing speeches and taking the nervousness out of it. Prof Dubray was really caring and strove to help his students any way he could. Speeches were easy and just had to follow the organization formats. Had some boring lectures but overall it was a great class to be in.

If you really like to learn culture, please take this class. Great lessons and quizzes are very detailed and you will do it, if you just follow the lecture videos. The questions are in the video and come in the quiz and exam. Really a great class and a great professor I encourage you all to take his class and he is really supportive and helpful....

Professor DuBray really tries his best to make the environment of the speeches as comfortable as possible. I've always been afraid of public speaking but his lectures really give you the advice you need to be more confident. His constructive criticism after your speeches is also very helpful and sincere. He truly wants to see you do your best.

TAKE HIM. By far the best professor I've ever taken. You can tell he cares about his students. He's very lenient with grading. He provides an open and safe environment. He gives great words of encouragement. All the quiz and exam questions come from review questions that you get from watching videos. 3 speeches total. HIGHLY recommend.

Professor Dubray is so encouraging and caring, and facilitated a comfortable, supportive environment. Absolutely who to take if you're nervous about public speaking! The feedback he gives on speeches is so helpful, too. I really felt I learned and improved. If online, you also only present for about 6 other students rather than the whole class. :)

Seriously the best professor ever. I've taken many classes at CRC and I've enjoyed many of them but after taking Prof Dubray this summer, he truly is the best. He is so empathetic and kind, there is no one better to be an educator than him. He makes giving speeches less nerve wracking and feels more fun than like an assignment.

Professor Dubray is one of the best professors I have ever had. He is so genuine and understanding. There are a couple of speeches throughout the semester but they are doable. No discussions. Quizzes about the readings and that's pretty much it. Truly enjoyed this course. Take him, won't regret.

I took him for fall semester online and he was the best! The kindest and most caring professor I've had so far! There were 3 big speeches and 2 small speeches. The 3 big speeches needed an outline but it's so easy to do! He also provides great feedback that for sure helps you improve for your next one. He's such a memorable professor so TAKE HIM!!

Professor DuBray makes you feel comfortable and gives lots of tips to overcome the fear of public speaking. In total there are 5 speaking presentations. He does have a required free online textbook. His classes were online, however starting next semester (Spring 2023), he'll be teaching on-campus classes only. Highly recommend him.

I was so lucky to take this class. He is so nice and precise. He is a great motivator and is able to instill confidence in your speech presentations and compositions. You learn so much. This is a great English class and you will enjoy it.

If you want to pass take professor Dubray! There are a lot of quizzes and discussion boards but they are easy. Just do the work and try your best. You will pass!

English is not my first language and I was so scared to take Public Speaking. Professor Dubray is so caring and he made everybody feel comfortable. He provides study guides for quizzes. Quizzes are soo easy. We've done 3 speeches so far and my next speech is in a week. I think there are 5 speeches total. If you are an English learner, take him!

The classwork was easy and not time-consuming at all, the study guides for the quizzes are easily answered by skimming through the video lectures he posts. Even if you don't attend class, the content is easily accessible. Never worried about my grade for this class, everything was easy and took less than an hour to complete, I'm gonna miss him.

A very nice, well-respected professor. He had quizzes each week (which are easy if you pay attention to the lectures). He is very understanding, but strict when it comes to turning in assignments on time. Overall, he is caring and his lectures are interesting.

Professor Dubray is a super nice professor, and he will always help you if needed. Some of the homework may take awhile, but it's not too bad. Whenever you have a speech, he makes sure you feel comfortable. Whenever you are done, he always gives good constructive feedback. I took prof dubray during the summer course, and I thought I would be bombed with homework, but we would only have online tests every week on the lectures, textbook readings, and 3 major speeches. If you have to take any comms prof, take his class, he is very accommodating and gives great lectures, even if they are sometimes a bit long-winded.

Amazing professor who really makes students feel seen and works with your anxiety. I avoided taking a Comm class for years but decided to take him after hearing so many great things. There are 4 Exams, 4 major speeches, and no homework! I took the 6 week course, it was such a breeze! Truly a great professor for those nervous about public speaking!

Overall, I'd say Mr. DuBray is a great professor and quite a layback one at that. He doesn't assign much work nor tests/quizzes, and is very lenient on classwork. However, the one thing that bothered me the most was the repetitive nature, you basically learn everything by the 4th week and repeat it all throughout the rest of the semester.

This Professor is very nice and understanding. His workload is very manageable and it may look like a lot at first but it is very easy to manage. He himself is a very good person. He is flexible and caring to his students. The most important thing in his class is doing your speeches when they are due.

Professor Dubray was great! I loved his class and would take it again if I could. There are a lot of group participation sessions so attendance is very important, but if you show up you're almost guaranteed to pass. All content in class is also posted online and quizzes are also online.

only "negative" was attendance being mandatory and affects grade (allows 2 EXCUSED abstinences needs proof) grades super easy but turning in assignments and attending class matters doesnt take late work without an abstinences tries to make course fun and id take the class again

There's lots of lecture videos + textbook reading a week for weekly quizzes (always based on lectures/readings). There's also speeches that need to be performed. Prof also makes note of too many small details requiring unnecessary reading for assignments. Other than that, he's helpful, nice, & resourceful to strive for us to do good in his class.

Prof Dubray is good but over-organizes modules: types too much info-makes it confusing. Theres weekly reading/lectures to look into for weekly quizzes. 40 points, 10 questions, can take 2x; takes higher score. Abt 3 speeches to present; presented w/ small group of people. He provides outlines for each speech; pretty straightforward w instructions.

Dr. Dubray was the best professor I had this semester. He made learning so much fun and he really cares for his students. If we needed help he would always put us first. Professor DuBray is a good teacher to have. This was my first summer class. I thought his class was going to be hard because college is different in high school. The textbook reading takes time to get used to in terms of pacing. You presented in your assigned groups. Professor DuBray gives good feedback for your assigned speeches.

Easy class, really nice and lax, you only have to attend meetings where you have to do a speech. You also get most credit just from attending to do the speech.

He was kind and understanding, he gave chances to makeup speeches, but they aren't guaranteed so don't plan on missing speech day. There is a decent amount of reading but you have over a week to do each section.

This professor was the best for communication. Hands down the most caring, kind, and soft spoken I would say. I came in the class not being confident and not wanting to present Infront of people online. But overtime, from his lessons and criteria, it gives you ease to do the presentations. Overall, take this professor if you need a COMM class!!

Prof. DuBray is amazing and very welcoming! If you're someone who's nervous about public speaking, take him! There are five speeches, but the rubrics are clear and you get amazing feedback. The tests are directly based on the readings and lecture videos. This class is easy as long as you try on the assignments and presentations.

Super easy professor. There's not a lot of homework. There are 5 speeches and 3 exams. He grades easy on the speeches and the exams are easy if you use the study guide, read the chapters and watch the lecture videos. There are a lot of lecture videos but he gives you a while to watch them. Take his class 100%

It's a good first summer online class to take to get into college culture. He is a good professor that teaches well in his lectures. The quizzes are easy as long as you take good notes in textbook and lecture videos. He gives good constructive feedback on factors you do well and need to improve in your speech.He's always willing to help his class.

Dan is best professor I've ever had. He's understanding, uplifting to all of his students, and easy going. The beginning of the class is slow, but the speeches pick up after the first few weeks. 4 easy speeches total. You can use videos in your speeches, which makes the talking time shorter! All exam answers are in his lecture videos and textbook.

Calming tone. Very organized, class materials are very informative and helpful. Exams comes with lots of materials but relatively easy. Textbook used is free. Feedback is always helpful, specific, and encouraging. Very understanding and kind. Gives you lots of time to prepare for presentations and speeches honestly. Just GREAT.

Very great Comms professor, there are exams but he provided great lecture videos to the answers. There are 4 speeches but very easy as well, as long as you show up and present you would get a good grade!

Dan is such a great teacher! In the beginning, his classes might be a bit slow and boring, but you will get used to them and his lectures are very informational. He gives feedback and answers any questions. If for example you can't make it to a certain date to present your speech, he will give you another time.

Where do I even begin to start

I took his class over the summer in an 8 week course and I thought it was going to be difficult considering it was supposed to be more fast paced. It ended up being very manageable and he was great on how he organized each speech very simple and easy to follow. I would highly recommend to take it, even as a 8 week course!

This professor is actually the easiest class and easily the best teacher! There are a total of 4 speeches, three are the main ones where you just present and the last speech is the final speech around 2-3 minutes about your career. The first speech is 3 mins max, 2nd is 5-6 mins max and 3rd is 7-9 mins max with videos ofc. Take this Professor!

Very kind professor! There are 4 speeches and each one has easy guidelines. The class was very comfortable for me to speak in and he gives great feedback after every speech. His communication is good and he is very flexible to do make-up speeches when you can't make it. The exams are easy and based off of provided video content. I recommend!

This professor is awesome. His lecture, homeworks, the way he grade. Everything is good. You can take grade A very easily. He is so kind, and answer everything by patience.

Take Professor DuBray! He makes public speaking online so easy. 4 speeches: inform, persuade, relate, and concluding. He is a yapper, but his lectures prepare you for when you present and the monthly quizzes. You don't have to come to lecture unless you are presenting or it is a lecture day. It's honestly a fun class, and he's a funny professor.

Professor DuBray is an excellent professor and a wonderful person. I took COMM С1000 with him, and even in the most boring speeches, he always found something positive to praise. I was nervous because English isn't my first language, but he is very supportive, helps with everything, and always encourages students. Highly recommend!

I took COMM C1000 with Prof. Dubray and he was a really easy professor. We had 3 speeches and 1 reflection speech. Each speech varied by length but he's a lenient grader. We also didn't have to go to class unless that day was our assigned speech day. Speeches were done in groups of 5-8 people. If you struggle with public speaking take him!!
