Awful, Awful, Awful. He has a way of taking interesting course material and making it dreadful. He is so tedious with grading it is impossible to achieve a decent grade on any paper. He calls everyone kids & expects perfection from his students.I received a B in his class but I worked so incredibly hard at it I did not have time for other classes
First of all he is VERY animated and at 8:00 pm it is too much! After about 15 minutes I am over it. But the class content is very interesting. Grades hard on paper but tells you that up front. Tests are not easy but study and read the text and you will be fine.
Professor Farr has high expectations for his students, but at the same time he is eager and willing to help. Your grade will consist mostly of three exams and a paper. The exams are moderately difficult but if you study you can do well. The paper is assigned early in the semester so you should have no problems. He's challenging but worthwhile.
Fair and very interesting! I'd take him again. Attendance is required--and important if you want a good grade! But if you put the effort, he is willing to help!!
First, I would like to say that this class should be challenging (it's an upper-level college course). With that being said, it was quite easy to make an A in this class, as long as the right amount of effort was put in (reading, studying, coming to class... the basics). Super funny/helpful guy and extremely interesting content.
Took his deviance class online. The material is interesting, and he seems to really love the subject, but he makes assignments way harder then they should be for sociology. One of the hardest graders in the program, and his quizzes and tests are really difficult. Even the syllabus quiz! Not easy.
Please do not take this class especially if you're taking all online courses. You're only allowed ten minutes to take the quizzes that are really hard. You don't even have enough time to think.I promise this is the hardest online class I've ever taken. I'm making A's in every class but this one and I've spend more time in this class than the others
He really is a great professor. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. He has a great sense of humor and makes the class fun. However, he does hold you to a standard for your work ethic and tests are quite difficult. NOT a class you can pass by doing the bare minimum. He challenges you but it will make the grade worth it!
This class was online & was enjoyable @ the start of semester. Prof. seem like he was into the course but then towards the end totally just dropped off the face of the earth and we heard nothing from him... never even got our paper grade...still and semester has ended and finals are turned in! Take someone else if you like to know your grades.
I don't usually have any problems with grades and online classes. I have taken more than 15 online classes and make pretty good grades... and this class is way to hard to keep up with. It's not too bad but I probably would never take this professor again.. His quizzes are ridiculous and don't even make me mention his tests.
Took his deviance class online. Smart professor, really knows his stuff and is passionate about what he teaches. As long as you read the book his quizzes really aren't too bad. His tests on the other hand are quite difficult and stressful. Worst thing about this class is the papers. Very tough grader when it comes to papers
Still unsure what to think about him. He knows the material, and he wants you to prove you do too. However it seems like if he has it out for you, too bad. He made a comment about my writing at the beginning of the semester and even referred me to the writing center. I've made high A's on all my UL papers in the past. With him, I made C's.
Step 1: Get the book. Step 2: Read the book. Step 3: Participate in the class discussions. Basically, the class will not go well for you if you don't show up prepared. It is not an easy class, but for those wanting to learn, there is no better place. The class revolves around a lecture and open discussion. The tests come mostly from the book.
You pay extra for a class and you get little, and I mean little input from him! He takes forever to grade things, and when he does grade them he acts like a tyrant instead of a professor. This class is not worth the extra money for a professor who clearly doesn't care about his job!!! What a joke!!!
Eh, he's a hard grader. Very nit picky. I was advised to go to the writing center as well -_- He's ok. This is one of the classes you have to actually read the book and NOT hope for the best with tests from power-points. You'll have to study too in order to do good. I'd take him again if there's not like a REALLY good teacher instead.
You have to work for your grade in this online class. If you do your readings in the book you will pass the quizzes and test. One or two quizzes a week. Test every 6 or 7 chapters. the test are a combination of previous quiz questions. And discussions are an easy way to get extra credit. I would recommend if your not lazy and willing to learn.
I took Professor Farr for an online course. The most frustrating thing about his class is that he takes sooooo long to grade. I have turned in my final paper before receiving my grade for the midterm paper. He says expect two weeks to grade, but its been two months. The class is basically just quizzes and discussion posts.
Where do I start he's not mean or anything like that (at least not with me) but he does not make time for his students I took him for an online class and if u try and reach him through emails he takes AT LEAST a week to respond so if u need clarification on an assignment that's coming up don't bother messaging him Also SUPER SLOW grader
He thinks he is GOD. I would never take a class from him again. Should never be a prof. very slow grader waiting over a month for midterm.
I would not suggest taking Professor Farr unless you are an EXTREMELY independent student. Any grades that aren't automatically graded, such as quizzes and multiple choice tests, will not be received until the end of the semester. Overall, the class is easy, but if you need feedback throughout the semester, don't take Professor Farr.
I have taken Daniel Farr for multiple classes (co-op, social dev., among others), and my experience with him has been pleasant. Beyond pleasant, He is very understanding and I didn't have too much trouble contacting him--he does have a life, like all of us do, but he always responded within a reasonable amount of time. Do the work. You'll pass.
Great teacher, really knows his stuff. He makes the lectures really interesting, class was never boring. If you try and actually do what's expected of you and do the reading an A shouldn't be a problem, if you are a slacker, like me, and don't you still should be fine as long as you try in class and take notes, watch the films and participate.
He's the only professor available for internship which is unfortunate because he is awful. He overloads you with unclear instructions on how papers should be written and will take off points for any and everything. He was nice when I met him in person, but he's very harsh through emails. His feedback was not helpful at all. Avoid him if you can!
He is a great teacher, but his tests are extremely hard. I had him for Sociology of the Family and we only had 2 test & 2 papers no inbetween assignments. He grades really hard on everything, and the midterm was from Chap. 1-7 and the whole class failed. In my opinion it was really hard I personally ended up dropping it. Its like he makes it harder
One of the worst profs I have had at KSU . Directions were often vague or unclear. I would never take a class from him if you can at all avoid it..... tough grader, little feedback, seems nice at first but later in the semester turns rude. I would change majors to avoid his classes.
Professor gets off topic very easily. Lectures are really broad. If you don't purchase the book and teach yourself you'll have a hard time passing. We only had 4 assignments; 2 exams (midterm and final), 5 page research (almost has to be perfect, hard grader), and another 3 page paper related to your research paper. Definitely wouldn't take again!
I had Professor Farr online for Sociology of Gender and would not take him again. He acts as if his class is the only class you're taking. He is rude over email. He takes FOREVER to grade yet has a no late work policy. He is ridiculous when it comes to papers and tests are extensive. Avoid if possible.
I took Professor Farr during Fall Semester. Easiest A that I've ever made. There is a quiz every week, and he gives you TWO chances with a paper that is merely about what you learned throughout the semester. His exams are super easy. He was always willing to help me, and maintained a courteous, friendly manner throughout the semester. A+, indeed!
Great guy who really cares about the students and is easily accessible. Make sure you read, because he relies heavily on the textbook and discussions. Stay on top of the course and be involved. Be aware, he grades very roughly on the project and doesn't give much instruction online... But its an interesting class.
By far one of the hardest class I've taken so far. Tough grader, no study guides, exam are ridiculous, if you fail one you are pretty much done!! DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!
You would be crazy to take any class taught by him. Worst professor I've had and a joke when it comes to caring about his students. He is so pompous and arrogant it is sickening. Tried failing me because of a grammatical mistake on a paper & got to spend 3 months appealing that. Save yourself the hassle. Wouldn't take his class if you paid me.
Class is tough
I took the 4 week long online course so I was expecting the large amount of work and fast pace. Nothing was graded after the second week until a few days after the class ended so I had no clue what my grade was going to be. He doesn't really give feedback on the assignments he does grade. The textbook was pretty interesting, though.
THERE ARE SEVERAL PAPERS, POSTER, PRESENTATION, AND OTHER SMALL ASSIGNMENTS HE GIVES. THIS IS FOR AN INTERNSHIP GRADE AND HE MAKES YOU WORK FOR ITTTTT!!! GREAT TEACHER, BUT HAS HIGH EXPECTATIONS. PLAN FOR THIS TO BE A BIT TIME CONSUMING. YOU CAN DO IT, BUT PLAN TO WORK HARD. I RECEIVED AN "A". I WORK FULL TIME, DID THE INTERNSHIP, AND OTHER CLASSES
Easy class and easy A. Only reason I did not get an A was because I did not finish the essay that's worth a large portion of the grade. Quizzes are easy and tests are based on the quizzes. He responds to emails quickly and drops many of your low scores. You have to watch documentaries and write on them, but they were all interesting. Recommend.
I've only taken Dr. Farr for online classes, but I just don't like his tone of voice. I did receive an A in his class, but it was A LOT of work. Like more than I think was even necessary. If you can avoid taking him I would do so. It is not impossible to pass his class, you just have to follow his rules and do the work. But it's a lot of work.
Gives vague how-to directions (e.g. write 8pg paper on intern site) for your work, but doesnt specify WHAT (e.g. give *in-depth* detail on intern site, work environment, social theory, etc.) to do, then condescendingly chastises you for whatever he doesnt like about it. Easy-ish A or B, but he isnt in this for you to learn or grow from anything.
He is a comemierda, he doesn't care about his students. Even though he gives EXTREMELY vague instructions, he grades super harshly. If I didn't have to take this class with him this semester in order to graduate on time, I wouldn't have taken him. TAKE LITERALLY ANYONE ELSE.
He is very clear about his expectations for the class. Also very helpful and accessible outside of class if you have questions. 2 discussion posts and quizzes per week, exams are hard but not if you are prepared! This class was more challenging than I expected, but as long as you have any work ethic you'll make it.
This was my first online class at KSU. It was by far the worst class I have ever taken. I am a transfer student from GMC and graduated top of class, and I could not please this man with my discussion posts. He gave me 3 0s; said I plagiarized(1sente). The test were hard, and he doesnt give extra credit. The 2nd test avg was 69%; he barley curved.
Hard? Yes. Snarky at times via email? Yes. But not as bad as so many reviews claim. He's clear about his expectations and gives great instructions (and examples) on how to properly complete assignments. He's a tough grader, but cares about the subject which is admirable. Just stay on top of your work, follow instructions, and you'll do great!
Dr. Farr is a fantastic professor. He is knowledgable in the content (even if it is an intro course) and genuinely wants the class to participate and learn. He was kind and respectful to all the students, and even asked for pronouns on the first day of class to make sure everyone felt comfortable.
Loved Dr. Farr! He is so inclusive and respects all people and their values. I learned a lot from him mostly because his discussions are engaging. Lectures are straight forward, but he expects you to read the chapters from the book beforehand to have a better discussion. The material is relatively easy to comprehend and grading is clear.
100/10 recommend. He's a cool prof for taking intro-level classes and he is very skilled in being an online professor. Made class discussions fun and interactive and actually relates to his students.
This professor was exceptionally difficult. The quizzes are ridiculously difficult. I would need to read the material multiple times to pick up on the small details that would be in the quizzes. The midterm and final were a culmination of those minute details making them nearly impossible to score well on, and they are heavily weighted.
He was a very tough teacher. Graded super hard and was mean about make up work or trying to work with a student.
He is a good professor other than his exams and papers, his paper requirements were insane, taking any ounce of passion you had in it out of it. I have cried over this class countless times lmao his quizzes and online stuff isnt bad and the exams and papers in theory arent hard but the papers are so difficult to write to his standards
Discussion posts and quizzes (open note) every week. I almost always got extra credit on posts. Just be creative. If I didn't understand the prompts he gave I would create one. I think he likes creativity. Tests were average. Study the quizlet/study guide and you will pass. It is long but the learn feature helps and I didn't read much of the book.
Professor Farr is a great guy, but he does not teach much during the lectures. Expect weekly quizzes and films to watch. You will mostly be teaching yourself through the online textbook. If you put in the effort, you can still get a good grade, but you have to be an independent learner.
Great prof, as long as you do the work, its an easy A. Tons of extra credit and Farr is super funny. Openbook quizzes and online discussion. Understands that Soci is not everyone's major but a prereq. Didn't like Sociology until I took Farr's class. Very informative and super engaging. It's not designed to trick you, just do the work, its an easy A
I love professor Farr! You can pass the class with an A if you put in the effort and work. Quizzes are open notes, while the test is with a lock-down browser. There are 4 exams, he will drop the lowest grade. He gives so much extra credit. Study the chapter key terms for the exams. He gives extra credit randomly if you attend class. Don't skip.
There were plenty of chances for redemption for your grade. Your lowest grade for each quarter in each syllabus category was dropped. His lectures were interesting and he was a very sweet and caring guy. A lot of movies to watch and weekly assignments make up your grade (open-note). Attend class if you want (not necessary)
He was a pretty good professor. You don't have to attend the lectures to pass, just go over the powerpoint. He drops the lowest discussion posts and quizzes. It's an easy class to pass.
Dr. Farr is EXTREMELY organized for an online class! He made it so easy to access course information. You MUST read the textbook chapters because the quizzes directly correlate with them. I learned that the hard way with the 15 minute quizzes! There were weekly quizzes and discussion boards, so time management is important. I loved the course!
Dr. Farr is a great professor who makes his class very accessible to first semester students. He is clear with deadlines/grading scales and knows how to use D2L very well. Plenty of chances for extra credit + he drops a few grades every quarter. There's a decent amount of reading and films to watch, but none of the assignments were super in-depth.
The professor was content-heavy with required readings for discussion, textbook readings, papers, and difficult in-person tests. The professor's multiple forms of gradings for discussions, quizzes, and tests were hard. The test is made of questions with multiple "right" answers. Be active, don't procrastinate, and attend class, he pays attention.
I really liked Dr. Farr! His lectures were so interesting, and I learned a lot. The amount of assignments that he gave was fair, and he gave a good amount of extra credit. Participation does matter in class so make sure you show up and answer a few questions. Great guy and very understanding. I would definitely take him again.
He was a good professor but there were many questionable lectures and often felt eh with him trying to be so relatable. His grading is pretty clear and assignments aren't difficult. The films are really interesting and I enjoyed doing the discussion boards. I studied the bare minimum but this class is definitely a good level of difficulty to pass.
His class was very easy, would recommend taking the hybrid course. He dropped a grade from every category. Always offered extra credit for exams, and one of the exam grades gets dropped. Does require discussion boards but you can get 115/100 and only have to do 4. Quizzes were at home, open note, and 10 questions and directly from powerpoints.
Great teacher overall. Fun and quirky guy, makes lectures somewhat interesting. This course is really easy if you just do the work. The work is always the same thing and he lays out due dates EXTREMELY well. If you miss an online assignment it is 100% your fault. Never studied for a single test in that class and averaged a 78. He also drops stuff.
you have about two discussion posts a week w response, tbh the discussion posts are pretty easy and dont take much time. I do feel like the exams are a little harder than necessary but you shouldnt struggle to bad to get an A or B. Offers extra credit
If you can, take someone else other than him. weekly quizzes and discussion post (some about articles) that don't weigh that much on your grade, feels like a waste of time. you need the textbook to pass the 3 exams. there's 1 paper apart of the course that requires a hell of a lot. he makes the course very difficult to pass.
I am a nursing major and this is my first B I have ever received if that tells you anything. Usually two discussion post a week + quizzes. They are not hard to do but they do not weigh much either. In all other categories other than test I had 90-105 and my test category was a 80 and I got a B. Test are lockdown browser with camera.
Take him, if he is your only option!!! He is a really nice professor. He grades really fast, his exams aren't hard if you study well for it. Most of the questions in the exams come out from the lecture slides and practice quizzes. you will have to do a discussion post and reply with not less than 150 words to at least one person per week.
I have been at KSU for a couple years now and this is my first review. This has been the most torturous experience I have had with a professor so far, he is meticulous and focuses on things the average professor would not even think of. Unless you ABSOLUTELY have to, do not take him, I regrets taking him every day I wake up and see the sun.
This professor is the worst! I've never withdrawn from a class or left a review before, but he's just awful. He watches our tests on lockdown browsers and strictly follows the rules. I think he's just trying to ruin our lives. Please run from this man. As I said I never done this before but I have to warn you guys.
As a last option, this professor isn't bad. Don't take him if you have a choice, he is very meticulous about grading and punctuation, if you get one thing wrong with editing or formatting he will try to fail you. He accused several students of cheating when they had not been, and overall has not been the most considerate, although he claims to be.
Great professor! Kind and personable. 1-2 quizzes weekly along with weekly discussion posts with replies. Interesting discussion topics and straightforward grading criteria. Films once per quarter, but you can get away with skipping them as long as you do the film review study guide. Quarterly exams with lockdown browser required. Highly recommend!
Dev/soc/con only class I ever withdrew from. Unfortunately the only internship coor. Take study abroad. Tough grader cause he cares? All lectures prerecorded from 2019 & syllabus recycled with wrong dates. felt like he'd rather be working on his research than grading our things. Passive aggressive comments instead of actual constructive criticism.
If i could give 0 stars I would. Do not take this professor if you want to keep a good academic standing. Hes known for reporting students to SCAI for no reason. Feedback isnt really helpful at all. He claims hes understanding but gives sassy/smart remarks when asking for help. If you want to keep you sanity take any other professor! Run dont walk.
I would think 3X before deciding to take this course. He is overly persnickety about cheating repercussions and creates excessive information on the syllabus to remember for the syllabus test. Take an alternate class if you can. I SENSE that he may be a professor who is looking to find fault on tests and accuse you of cheating.
Do not take this professor if you don't have too !!!!! He is veryyyyy strict. He finds any reason to assume that you are cheating. Not very understanding or accommodating. The reviews are bad for a reason!
Seems as if he purposely wants to fail students. If you don't mind a tough class then this is the perfect course. Very little room for mistakes as well.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFFESSOR! He is very lecture heavy and the tests are hard and hard to study for.
Dr. Farr is amazing and deserves a raise. Don't take this course if you're not willing to try or if you're used to breezing through classes, but he genuinely cares about the learning and success of students and is very helpful if you ask for it. He's helped me in the class and with college advice in general and is very accessible outside of class.
tbh i don't get the hate, professor is funny and very accommodating. i believe he truly cares for his students based off my personal interactions with him! there are chapter quizzes once a week (super easy and open note), you should have 4 exams (one being the final) worst exam grade is dropped and same with worst quiz grade from each quarter
I don't get the hate. Many of these reviews seem to be from students who think they shouldn't have to try in classes. There were 3 units, 4 quizzes per unit, and 2 discussions per unit. The lowest quiz and discussion grade per unit was dropped. There was a final paper, but he gives you all the resources for it. No final test, just the unit 3 test.
Nice guy, attendance not necessary, easy quizzes, the only issue is the test were just so impossible for me personally to pass with high grades. I recommend going to study sessions.
Literally went to two lectures, did 0 extra credit, got 70's on exams and still passed with a decent grade. He's a cool guy and it's an easy class I would just make sure you focus on studying for exams.
Dr. Farr is a great professor. There are many chances for extra credit, although it is a work heavy class. There are a lot of quizzes, exams, events that you need to write papers for, and about 11 documentaries that need to be watched along with textbook chapters. He does have a very liberal bias on topics like feminism if that matters to you.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!!! He is VERY strict when it comes to anything grading. He will go out of his way to accuse people of cheating. Apparantly using grammarly spell is cheating...Tests were UNNECESSARILY hard and impossible to study for. There is no room for any mistakes in the class. Basically sabotaging kids who have good grades.
This teacher was very complicated. I studied for weeks, but his test was always complicated.
Dr.Farr was pretty great! You really just need to make sure you stay on top of all the assignments but the assignments themselves are pretty easy. Also, just study for the tests using quizlets and his powerpoints and you should be great! He also is very quick to answer questions online.
Professor Farr was a pretty chill guy tbh. I did the absolute barest of minimums- never really came to class, studied for exams the night before, and still maintained an A the entire semester. Biggest critique is he once dripped sweat all over my scantron because he had to run around the entire lecture hall verifying our IDs. Content is vocab-heavy
I barely attended class and did well. There are no quizzes or papers just tests, which are basically vocab tests. It's really important to pay attention to the key terms. 2 KSU based activities, he offers a list and they do not require that much effort. You can get by without watching the movies. But he does offer extra credit based on them.
Just a normal class nothing too hard, but some general effort is required to do well. Quite a few of your lowest grades get dropped so it's okay to not do as well on some assignments.
Had quizzes every single week. I never attended class because I felt like they were a waste of time, often not actually going through the chapter so have to go through the powerpoint by myself anyways. However, attendance wasn't mandatory. Good if you want a class you don't have to participate in person. If you actually do the work you'll be fine.
DO NOT TAKE THIS GUY ONLINE, he's probably a good prof in person. It seems like this guy has enjoyment in holding students' grades until the very last minute, and has an extensive history of accusing people of cheating when they have not. I should've just dropped the class when I saw that he somehow made his syllabus quiz out of all things hard.
Easy class, horrible professor
Not sure why there aren't good ratings for him. he's super chill and funny and the class is not difficult whatsoever. Attendance is not mandatory and you can definitely get an A without going much. Lots of extra credit and exams are very similar to the quizzes. Also gives practice quizzes that don't count which is a great study tool.
Dr. Farr isn't that bad. Does he overly monitor online exams? Yes, but it's for good reason. As long as you put in a decent effort each week in studying, you should at the very least get a B. He drops your lowest exam score, is really caring and accessible out of class, and has a clear passion for the class.
This class has been an absolute nightmare . The professors goes out of his way to accuse students of cheating . Spending more time on finding issues with students than trying to help. Very passive aggressive and snarky comments . I regret taking this class everyday to the extent that iam considering a transfer to a different university
1. Be prepared to be accused of using AI or plagiarism if you're an overachiever 2. Be prepared for passive aggressive and snarky emails 3. Prepare for retaliation for when you try to defend yourself Probably not a hard class but this guy puts more effort into cheating accusations and making you miserable rather than doing his job… Worst professor
So the class itself is easy, but the professor seems to make it his lifelong mission to accuse you of cheating. Get a good grade on an exam, and he'll want to have a meeting with you about a "concern". Attempt to do the extra credit, he'll accuse you of using AI. I think he may be doing this in "good faith", but is executing this in poor judgement.
He spends a lot of time making sure you don't cheat, you must do a special environment check and set your phone aside along with turning it off. A little over the top but a decent professor overall.
This class has been the worst experience of my student life . Never have I seen a professor who is so casual about accusing students of cheating . I was online so it was pretty much a self -taught class and the material wasn't hard atall , what made this class a misery is the way he treats online students .i regret taking this class every day
He is such a genuine professor and makes class engaging with his sense of humor. You have to try, but he does cares for students. Provides lots of materials to support learning. 10/10 recommend!
Dr. Farr is one of the better professors at KSU. He responds well to emails and is very kind and wants the best for his students. This course was a little more difficult than average, but if you study and actually read the material, it's fine. Yes, he is strict about cheating with lockdown browser, but if you follow his directions you will be okay.
All of the other reviews are 100% spot on. His main priority is cheating and you will be accused at least one or two times throughout the semester when you haven't. There are many other classes and professors to choose from and I do not recommend this one.
Each day of the semester, I regretted taking this class. The only assignments, which are quizzes, tests, and discussions are weighted so unfairly, so even if you do well on everything, your grade is demolished if you do bad on one test. He is also very strict with cheating and spends so much time worrying about that, rather than the class itself.
This is the worst professor i have ever had in all my time of college. He made everything so difficult for his students, from requiring the discussion boards to be uploaded to youtube, to the specific exam requirements that no other professor does, then accusing everyone of cheating. He is awful and he should be fired, never take his class.
Waited until every grade was finalized to give my two cents: he sucked, really bad. Constantly tried to find a reason to assume I was cheating until I was able to prove to him multiple times that I wasn't. Excessive proctoring, passive-aggressive comments, and just an overall detestable person. The class is easy, the instructor isn't.
Very very tough at grading, he accused me of cheating even when I hadn't. He only graded and gave feedback for my discussion posts at the end of the semester, which provided no help.
I like the class itself, as well as the opportunity to submit videos as a form of discussion responses. However, like many have already spoken on, he has accused me TWICE of cheating (using AI) when I simply hadn't. The class invites creative thinking and open discussions, yet the Professor Farr insists that I cheated when I genuinely hadn't.
Class is constructed of discussion posts and quizzes. Be prepared to be accused of using AI even if you hadn't. He's also kind of snarky with his emails, and is overall a tough grader. Waits until grades are finalized to give any kind of feedback, so there's no way to really improve. The class is easy, but pls use AI checkers to avoid being accused
I have dropped 2 of Professor Farr's classes so far. He is one of the toughest graders I have ever had, and acuses you of cheating on EVERYTHING ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE WELL VERSED IN WRITING!!! and will threaten to report you to SCAI: Lockdown + Webcam on EVERYTHING. Only positive is that he is very kind if you reach out in advance with an issue
RUN FROM THIS TEACHER!! Do NOT take him by ANY means. He will accuse you of cheating, get smart with you in emails, then report you and make you go through a long process of saying how you DIDNT CHEAT. He does not care about your well being, I don't even know how he still is a teacher here.
Pros:The work isn't hard, just make sure you're completely locked in. Cons: he grades very hard! I was falsely accused for academic misconduct and got an academic warning on my record for using Grammarly. Feedback is also very bunt and sometimes rude. Believe the reviews, they are very accurate. I wouldn't recommend taking this class…
talks to much about his personal life than actually teaching, never gives clear instructions on the assignments, feedback comes back as rude, and isn't easy to get in contact with.
The class is pretty easy. All you have to do is do readings and then do the quizzes afterwards. If you study the vocabulary within the readings, you'll pass the exams. He has you do community stuff so that's iffy, but you only have to do 2. However, when they say he will accuse you of cheating, he will. Just got 50 points off because of it.
Mr. Farr is by far the worst professor I have ever had in my entire college career. He is an overly tough grader and loves to accuse students of cheating even if you are not. He seems to be on a power trip and never satisfied with students work or effort. I do not recommend taking this class or professor.
Worst professor I have ever had! If you have a chance to avoid him PLEASE DO! I was accused of using AI on my paper and even in a video discussion, despite showing him my time stamps. If you do happen to take this class, download a screen recorder or record yourself! DOCUMENT EVERYTHING!!
DO NOT TAKE HIM! Talks a lot about his personal life, but shows no care for students. He claimed that I said smtg probably in spanish during my online proctored exam, and seemed like I was talking to someone, when he COULDNT hear my audio. I was repeating the question to myself quietly. He will accuse you of cheating and is rude. RUN FROM HIM!!!!!!
Took him in the spring and it looks like he hasn't changed one bit, so I'll also leave a warning too. This guy seems to be obsessed with trying to catch people cheating even when they aren't, and will grasp at any straw imaginable to accuse you. Run from this class.
These reviews shocked me but maybe my experience was different online. For me, this class was relatively simple. Do the quizzes, the 2 activities, and the exams, and you'll be fine. Sometimes questions on quizzes throw me, but other than that it's not hard to do well at all. You literally just have to do work which is what school is lol.
Run....don't walk away from this professor. I had him last semester and I see nothing has changed from these reviews - he waits until the final exam and then will accuse you of cheating on the exam, threaten to fail you in the class, and turn in videos. Please note the department head is easily reachable Barbara Combs - bcombs2
Do not take any of his classes! I should have listened to these reviews. He definitely has a weird obsession of accusing people of cheating. I got A's in all of my other classes this semester but he failed me. If you are registered for his classes drop them now. I reported him to the Sociology head Barbara Combs.
Tried to accuse me of cheating on the final because of a “suspiscous activity in my environment” and fell flat when I proved his little theory wrong. Absolute joke.
