Daniel Gore is a great teacher.
Boring material, great prof. Ask him for the Australian impersinating a Spainard, it's hilarious. Watch out on his tests.
WONDERFUL! He is my favorite college professor out of 2 years of college, he is funny and makes US HIS interesting, if you listen and make good notes you won't even have to open your book. There are 3 tests with two essays each, he also has a 7-10 page term paper, THATS IT! No busy work! He'll help you as much as possible, I'd take him again!
Mr. Gore is a great teacher, funny as hell, and hot too! What's not to ike?
This guy is the best history teacher I have ever had. He's FUNNY and explains stuff I'd never understand if he were not so great a teacher. You have to work in his class, but if you are not lazy, you will learn A LOT and enjoy yourself while doing so.
Great guy. Awfully funny. Take him.
Discussion responses were 'canned' - not personalized. Difficult to tell how well or how bad you were doing.
Good looking guy that is HILARIOUS. Greatest teacher of history EVER! Did I mention good looking?
I absolutely love Mr. Gore. He genuinely cares about your grade if you genuinely care. His class is not an easy A; however, I went to every class, studied for exams, and wrote a kick a$$ paper and received a A in the class. Most importantly he makes History FUN! Not many people can do that.
HE IS VERY VERY SMUG! Don't take his class!
GORE! Best history teacher ever. His class is hard and takes a TON of work but so worth it. The lectures are awesome; he makes history so interesting. He's super smart and knows a ton of facts. Plus he's hilarious (but not overboard). It's a hard class with the essays and research paper, but take his class! He will make it worthwhile!
Mr. Gore is a funny and pleasant teacher to study with. He cracks everyone in the class up and makes very entertaining comments. However, his expectations are way to high. I don't recommend him unless you want to be challenged with a six credit class when you should be taking a three credit class.
he was a really good teacher. his exams were hard because they were just one essay but he gives you all the questions you could get on day one of the semester so if you prepare and do good then 100% on an exam is well within reach! he's pretty young and he is funny and up to date even though he teaches history. western civ 2
Great fellow. Very funny and extremely knowledgeable about history. Seriously sexy.
Great fellow. Very funny and extremely knowledgeable about history. Seriously hot - great accent and "built".
I took his internet class, and it was the by far the best internet class I've ever taken. I usually hate internet classes because they are disorganized and confusing, but this class was SO well organized. He had something due every Friday night, and one major project during the year - very straight forward.
Having taken several of Mr. Gore's classes, I can say for sure they are not for someone with no interest in history, or someone looking for a good grade while putting in no work. They are a challenge, they are interesting, and he is a teacher commited to his subject and the success of his students. Got my $$$'s worth with each of his classes.
One of the most knowledgeable and entertaining instructors I have ever had. Taking several more classes with him next semester, as one can hardly expect a better class for the money. This guy can actually make you love history even if you hated it before.
I took the online course and I didn't like it. Too many canned responses and I felt like his requirements for discussion board postings were ridiculous. He's complain about postings not being good enough, but wouldn't give students suggestions on doing better. I guess he's too busy with his classrooms to care about his online students.
Save yourself the headache, tears, and time. Take history with a different professor.
Fantastic teacher and a very funny guy. You will learn alot! Study like crazy for the exams and for the sake of your soul, do the research paper early.
Everybody loves Gore, and for good reason. he makes history incredibly fun. this teacher is a must take if you are an English major or a History major. takes seriously the test and do the research paper early and you'll walk away with a fantastic grade.
Hated this class. It was a disappointment because I like history, but I didn't like his teaching. I walked out with an A because I was determined to keep my 4.0 no matter what, but I was glad when it was over.
Mr. Gore is one of the best professors I've ever had. This is my third semester taking a class with him. The format of the class is difficult but the way he teaches the information is very clear and he is so helpful. Take his class, he loves what he teaches and you learn so much!
Gore is an xcellent professor. Ignore the haters. They are either people who have an aversion to a little old-fashioned hard work or they're just plain crappy students. (Note the hilarious grammar in some of the negative reviews) Take his class. Esp if you get a chance to take US History 1945-Present.
Definitely the best Professor I've ever had. Gore is hilarious. You'll definitely work for your grade, but you get out exactly what you put into it. There is no room for slackers in his classes, but it's more than worth the effort for what you'll learn and how much fun you'll actually have learning it.
Mr Gore made history super fun. Another plus: he's Southern...=) Only used the textbook for the online quizzes. The in class essays were a litle tough, but if you study you should be fine.
He is a great professor! Dorky but very funny. Fill in the blank notes for essay exams and online quizzes. Don't blow off his term paper because he does let you submit it to him as often as needed. So if you fail because you got a zero on it, he really won't care. He doesn't have a filter so if you are very PC stay away. Say no to drugs.
Incredible teacher - humorous and engaging. Gore does a spectacular job of relating material and is obviously passionate about his field. Hands down the best teacher I've had out of a great number (100+ teachers). NOT FOR SLACKERS. Gore takes his job seriously and you should take his courses seriously. 350 characters is nowhere near enough.
Mr. Gore is so dope. He's halarious and his class is straight to the point. 4 test, a weekly quiz and one term paper. It's not easy but it's so worth it
He a professor who sincerely cares for his students. The class is challenging. It pushes students to a higher standard, one which can be expected of any student who plans to excel in academia. His class is engaging, lively, and requires an honest effort. Do not put off the paper and this class will be the best history class you've ever taken.
He's funny so it makes the class fun, but be warned take the research paper seriously. It really does that all the time he says it does.
I took this class in the spring of 2013. He is such great teacher and he really cares about his students. Is very funny and makes the class worth going to. Loved the class and would take another class with him.
College work load not easy if you want to slack but very funny and puts your learning in our hands while supplying you with how ever much knowledge you want.
He has a well-deserved reputation for being difficult to obtain an "A" from. He doesn't dole them out like candy as many teachers at this level do. Do the work and you'll get the grade -- simple as that. As others have mentioned, the guy is a riot. You'll learn a lot more than you might expect. The world needs more people & teachers like Gore.
Professor Gore's class is not for the meek. This is a fabulous class! Gore is hilarious! Make sure you pay attention, take notes, don't miss class, make friends, and read the textbook for online quizzes.
Gore is extremely entertaining and no BS. His notes are fill in the blank, but the meat is his lectures. I recommend recording them. My whole family enjoys listening to them. (Galaxy 3 worked great). If he sees you are giving an honest effort, you'll get the benefit of the doubt. You'll be a better writer when he's done with you, guaranteed.
Professor Gore is an extrememly entertaiing teacher who goes to great lenghts to make the course fair but challenging. He provides students with everything they need to succedd - so long as they are prepared to do the work and put in the TIME. This course DID require the five hours outsdie of class he said it would. Aslo, he's very attractive. :)
Good professor, challenging class, but very rewarding, he is very willing to help, and he knows how to teach very well in a modern and diverse classroom environment.
Professor Gore is an amazing instructor. He is literally the funniest guy you have ever met, and he is passionate about history. I definitely recommend his classes, but be aware, he isn't kidding when he says you will need to but about 5 hours in a week to do well in his class!
Mr. Gore is a riot. Very funny and his class is fun. He is a great teacher and loves history. Too much digression and getting off topic during lecture. We could have gotten more done if he stayed on point. His tests are very hard. There is a ton of material to know for each one. He is a fair grader though. Much work in his classes.
Gore's class is NOT for the weak of heart. You don't need to love history to love his class, and him. He's not only funny, but entertaining; he will be your favorite professor, hand's down. But, if you want an easy 'A', this is NOT the professor for you. If you're willing to put in the time & effort, you won't be disappointed.
Great teacher. There's a reason for all the positive comments about him here. He's definitely an expert on the subject. Too bad there aren't more teachers like this guy.
Gore is probably the best professor that I have ever had thus far in school. The way he lectures is very organized, fair and straight forward. He makes sure that you learn all of the content covered. If you follow the directions and take the time to work for your grade it is worth it. I learned more about history and became a better writer.
Best professor. Very passionate about history. Paper is difficult but if you work on it and submit drafts to Professor Gore there is no reason you shouldn't be able to pass. I think so highly of Professor Gore and his impact on me almost made me change my major.
Mr. Gore is a southern gentlemen, who will make any class seem more like a sit in at a comedy show than that of a history class. I would absolutely take a class with him again. Gore's class structure is well organized and is completely dependent on the lecture slides which he posts online. *Do not take final paper lightly.
I've taken several of Professor Gore's courses. The guy is brilliant, inspirational, funny, and all the other good things you read on about him on this site. Pay attention in lectures. Study hard. Put some genuine thought and effort into your research paper. The classes are not easy, but education should be challenging. Worth every penny.
Excellent Teacher. All assignments and tests are clearly laid out in the beginning of the semester, so there are no surprises in his class. All essay text prompts are published so there is ample time to study and you know exactly what to study. Gore is also willing to go above and beyond for interested students who want more depth in their studies.
Such a great teacher! Lectures, organization, availability -- EVERYTHING is top notch here. If you value your education, take the class. Even if you don't care about history, take the class. Yes, you have to work for the grade, but it's work and time well-spent. Be awesome. Enroll.
gives you awesome feed back and is very clear on everything! he didn't make us buy any textbook except one that was about $15.00 or so defiantly would take another one of his classes
D. Gore is a top notch professor who will definitely keep your attention and educate you to fullest. He is a tough professor who expects nothing but the best from you so be prepared to work hard. If you take pride in your education, you will take his classes. He gives awesome lectures, he is funny as hell and has a huge personality!!!!!
Awesome teacher, he makes the class fun but you have to work for your grade!
Gore is my favorite professor I've had at ACC, hands down. His class is not for the lazy or the easily offended, but he is helpful on homework, makes his expectations clear, and is a total riot. His lectures are awesome, you won't need your textbook at all, and he has fun stuff thrown into his presentations. If you work hard, you have no worries.
Gore is a really nice, fun teacher, but he is a tough grader. There are not many assignments in the class, so the assignments are worth many points. He does offer a lot of points for extra credit.
I took Professor Gore's online history class and it only included quizzes, discussions, and one writing assignment. He did not respond to a single email this semester, so beware of that. If you have any questions, they won't be answered via email.
Gore is a funny professor who focuses a lot on writing. If you take his course, be aware that he does not let you use more than one online source for the historical research paper he assigns, and that 100% of your grade will depend on studying and writing. Also know that he does not use the history textbook mentioned in his syllabus.
I loved taking my history class 1600-1945 with Gore. He provides historical facts which were not given in high school classes. He is also very funny and gives great feedback on your final paper if you give him rough drafts early. I would highly recommend him for any history class!
He has very few exams that each cover a great deal of content and require a great deal of studying outside of class. Lectures are important, but he makes them entertaining so it's easy to stay focused on the notes.
Professor Gore is hard. I was losing hair by the end of the semester. I was so stressed out. Three exams (each for 20%) and one final paper (for 40%) is your total grade. But, by god, is his class worth it. I know so much more than I did before. He made it so much fun and I really enjoyed myself. It was a brilliant class I don't regret taking.
Professor Gore is Awesome. He is very knowledgeable in history and is very funny. The way the class is structured forces you to walk away gaining a lot of knowledge on history. This class is a good amount of work, but he is a fun teacher you get great lectures. He also offers a good amount of extra credit.
The man is from South Carolina and is by far the best college experience I have had. 3 tests and a large paper(take them all seriously), and he has clear grading criteria. I have gotten a laugh out of each lecture, and he always has a story to tell about why he does certain things (usually getting screwed by high school students). Quality prof.
Hes so hard! He also scares you its annoying
I was late to one class because of doctor appointment and Uber driver couldnt get into parking lot. Was a work study student working two jobs. Got hit by a car a Sunday before class parents would not allow me to attend class that Monday. Had to change Court date so I could take test two on the test date. Missed too many day to take test again.
The class consists of a lot of interesting lectures( I usually don't like history). Then you have to write a paper after every two lectures and that's the test. There is also one huge paper due the very last day of class with a lot of requirements. This paper has 10 automatic zeros. Overall, great teacher but he makes you work for it!
Really amazing guy, the class was too much of a work load for me to handle and for that reason ONLY is why i wont take him again. He is really funny and kind but I couldnt handle the stress.
Gore is a super funny guy and is willing to work with you. His class is mandatory, but if you have perfect attendance you have the chance of retaking a test that you may have not done so well on, also his test are in essay format, but he spells out what he wants in the notes so as long as you study, its no big deal.
You have to work for your A. There are two paper options you can do. An easy 3 page paper or an in-depth research paper. The research paper is the only way to get an A. However, while his grading criteria is very strict, he will work with you to help you get the best grade possible.
I guarantee you will like him. He seems a little tough at first cause he has this policy that if you miss 4 classes he drops your grade by a letter. Just do everything he tells you to do to and you will get an A. Tips: Print out lecture notes, do ALL the extra credit he gives and study well because the only assignments are his exams.
Professor Gore was probably one of the most challenging teachers I have taken but he was amazing at making sure you know everything. In his lectures, he provides them online and in his powerpoint he shows photos of him and his family when they have travelled to the places that he is lecturing about. I would take his class again!
He is so funny. His lectures are amazing. This class is so much work but so worth it. You have 3 exams and 8 lectures and one research paper. You have 5 hours of homework a week. He makes sure you know what you are getting yourself into. Attendance is mandatory. So many notes! You need to study.
Hilarious (the whole class was crying from laughter). He appreciates effort and you can get up to 115%. I remember everything from his classes and am taking a 4th class from him this fall. I learned so much history and love his class so much. He genuinely wants to help you learn, but needs you to be willing to learn as well. 10/10 #ferrets4life
Terrible guy, very full of himself and cocky. As well as a harsh grader. Take this class with somebody else.
He is the harshest teacher I've ever had. 70% of your grade is auto-graded quizzes so you never get feedback and can't contact him because he wont respond to email or phone. He failed my paper because I put one space after each period rather than two and didn't grade till the semester was over and it was to late to fix. Doesn't care about students!
He may seem really tough at first, but he's actually a really amazing professor. He cares a lot about helping his students; if you reach out to him, he's very responsive and wants to help you succeed. Other professors mention reaching out for help (and treat you like crud for it), but he doesn't. He's receptive and will help however he can.
I'm not sure how he still has a job. Everybody told me not to take his class and now I understand why. There's an assignment that is an essay and he gives you a 3 page long list of things that will get you an automatic zero. Such as having one space in between sentences instead of two, and much more irrelevant stuff like that.
I took him for my first college class in high school, and he's not bad. He definitely expects a lot from his students. If you want help and are willing to receive feedback, he will help in any way he can. If you don't start your paper until the last day or never study for exams, nobody is coming to save you, so get your work done and be prepared.
Funny and you learn a lot in class, but treats and grades class like a higher level course. Very strict on semester long research paper. Don't take his class if you're not a history major.
Mr. Gore is by far the best teacher I have ever had. He cares about his students, gives you clear requirements for papers and gives you all the information you will need for tests. The lectures are hilarious and full of personal pictures, every class brightened my day and had me crying laughing. I would 100% recommend him!
Very funny professor who cares about your success. Grade is based on 3 essay exams and 1 final paper. Listen when he says to do 5 hours of studying per week! If you email him your essay outlines and final paper ahead of time, he will help you get 100%. An A is definitely in reach but if you dont put in the time you wont be happy with your grade.
His class consists of maybe 10 grades in total, so all the grades are heavily weighted. It does require a lot of effort from you, but if you're willing to give that effort he will give just as much, if not more.
One of the hardest classes I've taken. But not hard in an unfair way. The tests consist of basically memorizing the lecture notes and then reproducing them in an essay during the exam. The professor is funny and good at engaging students.
Best History prof. at ACC no question. Lecture heavy, but he makes sure to make them entertaining, plus you get extra credit if you attend all the lectures. Test heavy - 3 exams and a final paper but as long as you memorize main points, you'll be fine. Take advantage of office hours and feedback prior to turning in final paper - it'll help a lot!
Mr.Gore is by far my all time favorite teacher, he is a genuine teacher that cares about his students, just make sure you actually participate and attend, he cares for effort. He gives lots of lectures that do turn into rants however they're worthwhile, he's a funny guy. His essays are very difficult but easy to prepare for.
Professor Gore is a tough professor, but his class is VERY well laid-out. As long as you stick to the grading criteria and put in the work, it's easy to achieve an A. Although he's a tough grader, his expectations are very clear. He's an engaging lecturer and he's clearly very invested in student success--he's always willing to help.
The class may be on the tougher side if you're not great at writing, but he offers so many opportunities to get his help and he gives valuable feedback. Attendance is pretty mandatory if you really want to succeed in the class, and he does offer extra credit opportunities for perfect attendance. However, his humor made me want to come to class.
Although his online class is laid out well, He is a super hard grader. You can do well on the quizzes or discussions but that doesn't really matter because the essay at the end of the class is what determines your grade. He will give you and automatic 0 if you miss any errors and is very critical of what he expects. Fail this essay, fail the class.
Such a funny teacher during his lectures, really helps you remember concepts. We had barely any homework, just one final paper due. You definitely still need to study for the exams as they make up most of your grade. Offers so much extra credit, especially if you come to lectures on time.
I would not recommend this class if you want a clear understanding of material, he is all over the place, frankly rude, and is intimidating to ask for help. I withdrew due to not believing I would receive a fair grade. I don't recommend.
Hand written in class essays no notes. Final paper worth about half of grade in a format I'd never been taught before and was not taught in class. Misgendered me. Would have dropped early except he was on leave until after census date and expectations were not communicated clearly by substitute.
This teacher is not for the week. And not for true history people. He will require you to be an excellent writer but then bombard you will a 10-page syllabus. He curses like a sailor. I recommend you take any other class. he is not a teacher you want to talk to in your free time. He means well but I don't think he understands how he comes across.
3 small papers 1, 10page paper. Lectures and then provides a thesis for the lecture. At the end of 5 lectures he will randomly choose a thesis and have you write about it, no notes. The 10page paper will have strict guidelines. SHOW UP TO CLASS AND ATTEMPT ALL EXTRA CREDIT as you will need it.
Loved this class. He is hilarious. Really hard exams, hard final paper. Crammed a lot, but the course was endlessly interesting. Incredibly satisfactory class if you get a good grade. When I screwed up my final paper with less than a month left, Professor Gore answered every email in a timely manner and helped me so much outside of class. Got an A.
Gore is a great teacher! The class is hard but if you want to learn history take this class. Gore is a teacher that wants his students to learn which can make it a hard class but if you are willing to learn he will teach u. The material is provided through lectures and very black and white. No homework 4 essays over lectures.
This class was surprisingly fun! You have to study or you'll fail, but the structure makes it manageable. All tests are essays—no cheating. He allows test makeups if you fail. Don't skip class; he won't share notes. Super smart and personable, total history nerd, and often shows family pics during lectures of the historical locations has been at.
Prof. Gore is a cool and super personable individual. Class was straightforward, but it felt hard to earn a good grade. I read all the material and studied, but a lot of the questions on tests felt like trick questions. The discussion posts are harder than most classes, but Prof. Gore does a good job outlining expectations.
gore was a very good lecturer and i learned a lot. i didn't try very hard and i got an A+. i will say his class would be easy if you just take the time he asks for and just do the work rather than putting it off. overall i liked his class and it was pretty entertaining.
If you take any of Gore's classes, be prepared to read every line of the assignment like it's a legal contract. This instructor grades ENTIRELY on technicalities and offers ZERO flexibility or understanding. You can do everything right, but if you miss one thing, expect to fail. Enforces rules remarkably well, but forgets that empathy is education.
Absolutely one of the worst teachers I have ever had in my academic career. You can do everything correctly and he will still find technicalities that were not listed in the assignment prompts just so he can give you a 50% or less on assignments. Absolutely unfair grader and he does not help you learn at all. Please do not take any classes of his!!
He is very strict on following instructions. There is a lot of memorization before exams. Class is made of 3 exams and a final paper worth 400 points. Do not put off the paper, you really have to start from day one in order to finish it and not stress. Good thing is he does provide you lots of feedback and is accessible outside of class.
Gore is an AMAZING teacher. Extremely knowledgeable on every topic he covers. Hilarious and engaging lectures, will make you love history! However, he is an intense grader, but lays out his expectations very clearly and will advise you to drop the course if you cannot meet them. HIGHLY recommend his class if you love history.
