He's such a sweet man...definitely approachable if u need help. Sometimes a bit "boring" but u'll get a kick out of his excitement in certain readings...he'll even change accents depending on the readings... :)

World Lit, grading of papers is very very lenient! He's extremely fair and a good teacher, there's a lot of reading involved in World Lit but he reviews everything about the book in class that he wants you to know for the exams so it makes it easy.

Professor Gover is a great teacher. His exams included quotes from the readings, but other than that you had an essay and ID's to complete on the exam.You don't do any outside reading and whatever he goes over in class is all you need to study for exams.

I took him for both brit lit I and II. He gets very deep into the readings, and really wants you to understand the literature. He cares very much about the students. He's focused more on teaching the material, and getting us to understand it.

I took him during the summer. Always look foward to going to his class. We read a couple books and for most of them we watched a movie. It was interesting class. Doesnt take much to study. Just read the books and youll pass the class. Only 2 exams, no homework, and easy on attendance.

Prof. Gover was a great teacher. He knows his stuff where British Literature is concerned. The only thing I disliked was his grading system. I think two tests were worth 60% of grade; students need more to work with to improve grades.

Quite simply one of the best professors I have ever had. Take this prof for every single class you can. He makes it so easy to understand and will talk you through any rough spots you run into. He is how the English Department should be throughout this campus.

best prof to have for the class. you have to go through 5 books but he reads it during class and tries to get you excited about it. test are easy. just have to know the characters and quotes to the stories and you'll probably get a great grade

1 thing I like was that he reads everything in class, no need to read at home. Things I didnt like were that he gives scattered notes... quiz, midterm, & final depend on u identifying quotes, characters, & the like, but keep in mind that he'll read over 20 poems in half a semester, so its ALOT to remember. Term paper is vague. Not recommended.

world lit can be boring, but he tries to make the class as interesting as possible. explains everything you need to know about the books in class. shows a few videos and goes over the highlights. exams are easy - quotes, identifications, and an essay. very fair grader and loves the subject.

Awesome professor! You don't actually read the entire book and he reads everything in class. I think there are only like 2 or 3 tests and they aren't hard if you pay attention in class. May be hot is your into 50 year olds.

I took Pro. Gover for Brit lit 1 & 2 and Shakespeare...This man is awesome, loves what he does and extremely helpful. Go to class and take notes and you'll do fine. One research paper required for all classes. For Shakespeare your required to write six pages and for Brit 1 & 2 only four. Highly recommended!

I took Dr. Gover for World Lit. English is not my strongest subject, but this class is a bit challenging overall. The mid-term and final exam are difficult because you have to remember so much from all eight books. Although the class is challenging, Dr. Gover will go out of his way to help you. He is very kind and a wonderful instructor!

He is so nice, and explains everything. You will hardly every have homework, and he reviews the readings in class. As far as exams they are extremly easy, and he is a fair grader.

THE BEST PROFESSOR IN THE WORLD AT KEAN UNIVERSITY!

This guy is funny. He even laughs at his own jokes. He shares experiences from his time in Africa -tying them to select readings. sometimes he rambles on a little gradually straying from the initial topic but then catches himself. This isn't a tough class, as long as you do your part for the assigned readings. Don't be afraid to participate either.

He's awesome!! Had him twice & will be taking one more class with him in the Fall. His class is never boring, he makes the subject interesting & he's very helpful. Great teacher, I suggest taking him.

Great professor but talks way too much! Always go overtime. His quizzes will have quotes from the stories/poems so watch out. It's no joke. I respect this guy for his passion tho.

He's honestly the funniest and best professor on campus imo. He even tried long-boarding in class haha! This guy knows his stuff. I really enjoyed reading his selection of poems. He is honestly my favorite professor here at Kean. He gives a lot of reading, and his quizzes are exact quotes, and ids from those readings. He is VERY into his work and really does make the class fun. Especially when you read Beowulf, I take him for any English course he teaches. He is the absolute best, if you read, pay attention you will pass!

What an amazing man! I'm taking him for BritishLit2, he reads the stories to us and the quizzes are on the poems he'll go over in class. Take him, he will go out of his way to help you. By far the best professor in the English Department!! I now old an appreciation for Wordsworth, Coleridge and Blake. He teaches out of heart while also being laid-back and understanding. I'm an English major and I have learned so much in his class. Do yourself a favor and take him. You won't regret it. Do the work & you'll get an A-/ B+

Dr. Gover is by far the most passionate and the nicest professor I have ever had. He goes over the readings in class, so don't bother reading beforehand. There is a quiz, a midterm, an in-class essay, and a final. You will sometimes need to ID quotes from readings, but they're never too difficult. I wish I could take him for every class.

Gover is awesome!! He's very knowledgeable and easy to talk to, and his class is funny and engaging; even his lectures on books I'd read beforehand were a delight to listen to. I'd recommend him especially for theater majors - he's a huge supporter of the department and will joke around with you about your roles in the shows.

Dr. Gover is exceptionally a great hearted person and is a great professor. He will go out of his way to help you. Just make sure you read everything that he assigns and take notes. He goes over every readying and pay attention to the details that he gives for each story and write down what he says. It will be very useful for exams and papers.

He is the sweetest man ever. I barley showed up to class and never knew what was read or discussed in class but I still passed. His test mostly consisted of quotes and a essay part, we would have to mach the quotes with a book and say who said the quote.

prof. Over was a sweetheart all semester. the material is covered by a few books which he reads to us in class (Buying is optional). We had about 4 tests and one essay during the semester. He is super easygoing and helps everyone understand the readings. Definitely take him!!!!!!

I've never been one to enjoy an English class but this man changed that for me. Attendance isn't mandatory but I had no issue going into class to listen to lectures. You cover 3 stories and one of them is through watching a movie. Tests are easy with matching quotes and fill ins. This class was the easiest and most enjoyable class I've ever taken.

All readings mostly are done in person in the class, if you listen or use your notes you will be fine. He gives quizzes about characters and true and false questions, short essays and he gives a midterm and final. He is adorable and so enthusiastic about the class, he dresses up or wears funny attire, he tries to engage you, he's adorable.

Sweet, knowledgeable! He cares about his students. I enjoyed his course and lectures! The quiz and exam are not very hard, but you do need to read, take notes and study before exams!

Makes World Literature easier for people who dislike reading. Makes class relatable and fun. Shows some of the movies instead of reading the books.

Such a gem of a professor, I was so nervous for this class but he makes it so fun and literally hands you the answers as long as you can make sense of his hints, actually, such an amazing class, 3 essays of about a page in length such a sweet professor who tries even with online education tries to get to know his classes as best as possible!

Professor Gover is one of the best professors to have if you dont enjoy reading. In his class we read a few pages from the book then watch videos of the book to get a better understanding. You have to write about 3 essays and the questions arent confusing at all. Id recommend him 100%

He reads the literature out loud in class and pauses to explain what he's reading. The quizzes are easy if you payed attention. He gives about 3 essays during the semester, last one is about 3 pages long and gives enough time

Gover is a nice professor and has a really soothing reading voice. He's like a fun grandpa you can chill and read with. While he did give two tests and some writing assignments, none of them were impossible unless you never paid attention at the very least to his explanation of what was read, not even the reading itself. He's very very helpful!

Professor Gover is a really great English professor. His lectures are very straightforward and the book choices are pretty good. He also is very kind and easily approachable and tries his best to get the class engaged in the book by asking questions to connect the events in the book to other books.

Gover is passionate about the texts he teaches, he is lecture heavy for most classes and goes off on tangents but I never minded it. He's a really nice guy and even if he may not remember everyone, he does acknowledge when students haven't been in class after a few absences. You can get by just skimming the books, using the movies he shows too.

He is very passionate about what he teaches, but the class in definitely rough to sit through. Very boring and drags on at times. As long as you listen to his summaries, though, you should have no problem passing.

He is just this adorable old man who reads your stories and explains them. The only thing hard about him is his exams, but I do not know anyone who has gotten lower than 80% on them. He is so sweet and caring and tries his best to make us understand what we are reading. 10/10 would recommend.

Everyone knows Professor Gover and everyone loves him! He's incredibly knowledgable of British Literature as well as the history. If you pay attention in class, his exams and essays will be super easy! He's great at explaining a text thoroughly, even with the difference in language/writing within the text.
