He is a very good teacher. Laid back and relaxed when it comes to homework, he also drops your lowest test which is GREAT! He is ALWAYS available to help which is a very good quality. I would definiteley recommend him for this class.
He is a really good teacher very nice and extremly helpful. He believes in his students and if you show effort it pays off. One bad thing about him is the tests dont really match the review but his reviews give you the idea not the exact answers. he is a great teacher and not too bad on the eyes.
Mr G. is the BEST! Trust me, I've taken other stat classes. He really wants students to progress. Always available for help before/after class. Returns calls. Too bad other teachers arn't like Mr. G. Makes class fun. Others don't compare. Helps on tests. Some tests are mult-choice. Do h/work go to class, you'll pass with A.
He is smart, quirky, & very personable. He wants his students to do well and acknowledges that stats is NOT an easy course for most people. Also, you do NOT have to buy the Grossmont edition of the text! The subject matter was very difficult, but that really isn't his fault.
I strongly recomend this teacher if ur not strong with math. I only passes with a C but hey that works!! He is very understanding. Homework can bring you up alot.
kinda upset that over 60 people started in my course and only 13 took the final and he still had the nerve to give me a D+. nice enough guy but you need to get out of class help to pass his course for sure
Good teacher..He explains good, works with you and helps you if you need it. Do the homework, use the Math Lab and look at the math solution manual, and you will be fine. Do the homework and study for the test and you will be ok. Don't let the material scare you away. He works with you and has everything scheduled out. Great teacher.
Mr. Greenheck is an extremely personable guy, but if I hadn't met with a tutor 3 times a week, I would not have passed this class. Make sure you do the homework! It's 15% of your grade. Test questions also come from H.W. Also, Greenheck does not explain things well, he hasn't found his teaching style yet, so he uses the book and nothing else!
Nice person, terrible teacher. Means well but doesn't seem to have a handle on the material, somewhat unorganized.
He's a wonderful teacher, helpful, nice, and cares about his students. He always takes extra time to go over a problem after class (4rm HW or to answer ur math ?s). Math 180 is a tough course for summer, but if u put 4hs a day and see tutor at least 2hs a week you should get B+ or A- easily. I tock his summer class and I got A-. He is the best in
Mr. Greencheck is one of the best calculus instructors at Grossmont. He is kind, helpful, and he loves to see his students succeeding. He keeps eye on smarts and encourages other students by curving everyone’s grade if the class average is less than 70%. I had his calculus 180 class during summer 07 and I got an A. I can’t believe that I learned
Take this course with Dan, and get help after class. Both will be the best decisions you'll ever make.
GREAT TEACHER! Is willing to help anyone no matter how long it takes. Makes everything very clear. Super funny and down to earth. Stays after class to help people. Easy quizes, will help with answers on exams. Highly reccomend him!
He is one of the best math teachers I've ever had. He's kind, funny, encouraging, and supportive. He is always willing to help, and due to his attitude and helpfulness, in part, I believe I will pass his class, and may even earn an acceptable grade! Not an easy task when you have math anxiety--stats is a difficult subject.I HIGHLY reccomend him!!!
funny
A personable and fair minded teacher. He won't put you to sleep. He knows the subject well. If you show him that you are putting in an honest effort (let alone above and beyond), you will be rewarded accordingly. Recommended.
Great teacher. Class is pretty easy if you put in the time and do your homework assignments. Ask questions after class and he will be more than willing to spend the extra time with you to help you out.
Mr. Greenheck is a wonderful teacher. He doesn't make it harder than it already is. He is very helpful and positive. I would have left the class the first month in because I struggle with math and it wasn't coming together. He helped me stay positive and keep at and it started to come together. Doing the homework and coming to class is a must.
First of all he is very handsome and he is a really good teacher, he explains well and his funny too..You should take him. Good luck
Take him for business calc! He is a great teacher & funny! He let us use MymathLab & this online tool is helpful. Easygoing & ended up giving lots of extra credit for extra quizzes. Grades very easy (sometimes wont even mark off points if u dont put an answer but get close to it). Can use notes on each test. 4 page notes/Calculator on final.
Professor Greenheck's good qualities are that he is friendly and an easy grader. Aside from that, he was very distractible and difficult to understand. He regularly spent over 20 minutes of class time talking about things completely unrelated to math, and made mistakes often when demonstrating problems on the board. He comes across as very lazy.
THIS is by fact my favorite teacher at Grossmont he is the best he super easy and his test are not hard all you have to do is the homework and you will be fine but honestly professor greenheck is amazing hes very caring and super easy grading if you tell him you think you lost points on a test for no reason he will give them to you. TAKE his class
He is such a great teacher!!! Super caring and really knows his stuff. He tends to go off into small tangents but it was never a problem. He gives 3 test and one final. Quizzes are usually 1-5 problems and he reviews the problems before hand. Real easy and fun class! Do the hw and you'll be fine
Mr. Greenheck is a great teacher. He is very helpful and kind, although sometimes the lecture can be a bit boring.
Excellent Teacher. Class is easy, and he helps you if you have any questions. Many times will stay after class if you have any questions. Is funny and teaches the concepts well.
Greenheck is great. He wants you to succeed, and will take so much time to help you and make sure you understand. He will beat each subject until it is ENGRAVED in your mind. The homework was online and made it so much easier to understand course material. TAKE HIM! Best option for pre cal by A MILE!
Best teacher I've ever had at grossmont college. Explains things very well and he genuinley wants all of his students to succede! Do all of the homework and it will cushion any poor exam scores.
AWESOME Teacher! Mr Greenheck was the best math teacher I have ever had. He knows his stuff and makes it easy to understand. I really appreciated how he stayed after sometimes to help students that had questions. The only thing is that you have to attend every class and finish all the homework, you don't need a textbook. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!
He was very helpful, and don't be shy to ask him questions about homework, or exams. I'm glad the textbook was on mathxl. I like how he stayed after class if anyone needed help. Work hard, do all of the homework, study, and ask questions. Also don't be tardy, or he'll put you on blast.
The book and homework is all online and easy to follow. He really enjoys his job and wants you to pass. Is overly willing to help in any way he can. He's entertaining and funny and a really good person. If you're taking stats, I recommend him.
DO NOT take him for statistics. He is completely useless. Taking his class was a horrible mistake. I had to learn everything on my own & ended up re-taking the class. Hopefully he stopped teaching this class.
Professor Greenheck is very professional in his approach to teaching math. Very pleasant personality; always willing to help out students with any problems. I like how he would stay after class to cover any questions we had with the material. Awesome professor. I would highly recommend him to anyone. Other professor's should follow his example.
He is honestly a great teacher and super funny. The homework was online and that was awesome but sometimes I would have to teach stuff to myself. Some people would leave half way through the class so youre gunna get some stupid people in this class. But if Greenheck knows your working your ass off in the class he'll get you through.
The class was a bit tough, but he is a good teacher and fair grader.
This guy was very nice very helpful. I had a question on the hw and he was willing to stay after class and walk me through the process of solving it. very very helpufl
Had him for the Summer School. He was a great teacher and was very humorous with the students. He took the time to help everyone out individually. He doesn't use scantrons, which is better because he gives you points for trying and doing the work. I highly recommend him, especially for the upper division math classes.
funny down to earth guy. very helpful. lots of patience. highly recommended. very cool.
Professor greenheck is a legit teacher. Very helpfull, He is in it for the students, willing to help out any student who needs it before or after class. Watch out hes a comedian. He will have you cracking up while taking notes so pay attention. He seems to want to teach the students who show the most interest in the subject at hand. WRITEITALLDOWN.
He is one of the wonderful math teachers at Grossmont College. He is very helpful, and he explains the materials very well. Also, he gives you a review before every test. fair grader:) I took him for two semesters. I highly recommend him. Do your homework, study the review, pay attention in the class, and you will get an A . He is Awesome !
this dude is awesome. really funny and definatly someone you'd grab a beer with and talk smack. if you met him outside of class, wouldn't pin him to be a math teacher, lotta personality, maybe a sports writer or sumin. you won't feel stupid asking him questions in class he addresses whatever you don't get, and very encouraging n I'm no math wiz.
He is an awesome dude and he is really funny. I took this course over summer thinking it would be easy, biggest mistake I have ever done. This class has been stressing me out. He makes his tests seem like they are easy but really they aren't. Yiou have to be good at math
Took the class over summer. he is horrible. doesn't care about student's learning. he is 20 minutes late every day (i know, says a lot about him)and gives 20 minute break. dismisses the class 40 minutes early (every single time) because of that, he rushes through the martial, He has no office hours. I failed the class simply bc i didn't learn.
Explains concepts in an easy, offhand way. Stays after class to answer questions. He grades fairly; your grade will reflect the effort you put in.
This professor is by far the most amazing and understanding professor I have ever had. He is hilarious, caring, and knows what he is teaching. He wants his students to succeed more than any other professor I have had. I took a 6 week summer course and he made it a hilarious and fun lecture as well as making sure we understood what he taught.
Greenheck is a nice person, but I did not like how he taught. He was very scattered and I never knew what was going to be on the exam. He does not give study guides, nor clarity. As a person, he is very sweet, but as a math teacher I would not take him again. Not to be recommended.
Professor Greenheck is hands down one of my very few favorite teachers at Grossmont. His lectures are not boring, he knows how to keep the class alive but makes sure he teaches everything at the same time. He cares so much about his students and offers help whenever it's needed. TAKE HIM! You won't regret it. He's the reason I like math now!
i've Aced every class until now. you have to teach yourself, ton of hw, test 60% Quiz 30%. makes test way harder then they need to be. 1/2 the class dropped by the 2nd test. I study 15-25hrs week, and i may not pass. no one finished the exam 3 on time. he gets ans to study guide wrong, and it doesnt prepare you for the test. avoid this class.
his great, but you have to do a lot of home work. make sure to read the chapter before class. his fast pace but will work with during his office hours.
He my best teacher in this semester. You just need to do all the hw and garantee you will easy to get A. Almost the test, the quiz is taking from hk. Some people are so lazy to do hw and always complaint. But for me, Daniel is great in his lectures, also he's very funny. The way he grade the test is gentle. If you want to be good in Math, take his!
Professor Greenheck is super approachable and willing to help you learn. He explains things clearly and is extremely nice. Class was still rough but he is a fantastic teacher.
He is definitely understanding of a working student and grades fairly.
Took the class during the summer assuming it would be a challenging and tough course. By the second week in, nearly a quarter of the class dropped due to how much homework, quizzes and tests he was giving us in a week. He does care about his students and very funny, but for taking Calculus in the summer, I DO NOT RECOMMEND HIM!
Dan is a great professor and is very passionate for calculus. His quizzes were fairly easy which help your grade and he knows what he is doing when he teaches and is very helpful if you have a problem in class. I wish he taught calculus 2 because I would definitely choose him again.
This professor is the worst professor I have ever had. I took the summer session with him and it was the worst decision I had made. The questions he puts on the test and quizzes are very involved and when you get a portion of it right, he doesn't give any points for it. Not to mention half of the class was wasted with his unnecessary rambles.
Mr. Greenheck will always hold a special place in my heart. I had a family emergency come up the semester i took his class and would have completely failed and burned if i didn't have such a caring professor. He went way above and beyond to help me get through the semester and pass this class i needed for my degree I would take again in a second
Dan is an awesome professor as he has a no nonsense approach there was these annoying fresh out of high school girls that would be rude and he would call them out , I regret not taking him for my 298 math because his professionalism as a college student is priceless and will be taking him in near future . clear and straight forward a professor.
HANDS DOWN WORST TEACHER EVER!!!! makes calc way harder then it needs to be literally the only reason why this class follows through is because of the math center that they have so avoid this class. Im not unintelligent, I guess my 3.7 gpa does mean something but avoid this class especially if your a biology major!!!!
Lot's of regret taking him. WebAssign really sucks and it's a lot of work to keep up with the homework & the lectures. He basically encourages to skimp out on homework and follow the book. Plus his lectures are too quick. His quizzes are incredibly hard to finish on time, and the questions are too detailed and uncovered. Same goes for the exams.
People here are saying that the homework is too much and the quizzes are too hard, but I think it's just a matter of time management and studying well. His teaching style is relaxed yet rigorous because of how fast he can teach when we fall behind. He's the reason I changed my major from CS to Math. Hands down best math professor I've had.
He would give the class a study guide instructing to study the material on it. When the test comes, the problems will be significantly harder than the ones on the study guide. Within a 90 min class, he couldn't explain all the material in time. Expect curveballs coming your way. If your not a walking Albert Einstein, do not take this guy!
He is the best Math teacher I have ever taken. Sure, he gets off topic sometimes. But overall he is very kind and teaches Math very well. He will help you a lot fo you ask, and he is in the math study center a lot, so take advantage of that.
I took math 180 with him and he is great. I learned a lot. Im ready for calc 2 now thanks to him. Awesome guy, really funny and makes everyone learn. If you don't come to class of course you won't pass. So go to class and do the homework and thats all it takes. wish I could take him again.
Amazing man and human being, but his teaching style isn't up to par. Confusion at its best.
Greenheck, what a chad. This man cares about his students once he gets to know them. He is very easygoing which is hard for him to do especially because its a calculus class. His personality is amazing and he makes jokes all the time that don't interfere with the overall class. 10/10.
Prof. Greenheck is an awesome guy. He genuinely cares about his students and will help you if you ask. He is very good at teaching and even if he goes on a fun tangent (which happens often) it doesn't detract from his lesson, sometimes it even adds to it. He is just an awesome guy and professor if you can definitely take him!
If you are good at math you would do fine in one of Greenheck's classes. Personally, I struggled because he assumes everyone understands what he considers "basic math". I taught a lot of the material to myself which resulted in barely passing test scores. He is a bit unorganized and doesn't clearly explain directions. He does have a good heart.
Worst teacher ever! Basically says to skip most of the homework because there is too much and it doesnt match his "lectures" which are really him rambling on about softball. Tests are way harder than the homework and the practice tests and he is just mean overall. Would NEVER take another math class with this guy. Simply should not be teaching.
He is a funny person, but is TERRIBLE in lectures. It is good to go to class though, because he remembers who goes and who doesn't. But if you want to actually understand the material you HAVE to go to his office hours. The exams are pretty much your class grade and he is a TOUGH grader, so if you suck at tests I would absolutely not take him!
Easy A took math 180 for the first time ever and he made me want to learn. Great teacher take him for calc 1 and you'll do well. I believe he is a good man that cares about his students. The class isn't even hard, some students complain because they don't know how to factor. unfortunately they take it out on him. He is a good teacher over all
Isn't the greatest professor, but clearly cares about the success of his students. Lecture's can get a bit off topic, but in all situations the material is covered and the students should be prepared for the exams. If you need a prof. who will hold your hand and spoon feed you information, he is not your teacher. If you are self directed, easy A.
He is the best guy in history! His lectures are great and should be appreciated.
I took math 280 and his lecture is okay. Exams are harder than the practice and the homework. In addition to, he is a tough grader. I would never take his a class with him.
He doesn't explain very well and gets distracted REALLY FAST!!, he also takes forever doing easy problems and then in the last 10 min of class he's rushing or as he says he's "hauling ass". Don't take him unless you plan on learning 98% of the material on your own. WORST teacher EVER -.- !!! If I could rate him negative numbers, I WOULD!!!!
Great teacher!
Amazing personality, truly funny and caring guy but the class was difficult. Lectures were long and sometimes off topic. Very lecture heavy with no worksheets to help. In lectures, we would jump all over the place, inconsistency make it confusing for me.
Mr. Greenheck is super funny. He laughs at his own jokes. He will answer any questions you have. Expect lots of quizzes!
I took greenheck for math 90 and loved his class so much I came back now for math 160. Definitely a good guy and made math understanding. Took other math classes here and most other teachers dont care an just are there for you to be a body in a seat.
10/10, I always tell my friends I wish he could teach all my classes. He is such an inspiring and caring teacher, I never cared for math but I've learned to love it and I actually do well thanks to him. Took him for Cal I and II; Truly one of the best teachers I've EVER had and I'm so devastated he's not teaching Calc III. Such a cool dude all arou
He knows what he is teaching and entertains the class at times. He speaks the reality of things. Hes not my type of professor because I a power point or something but he teaches good, fast, takes his time sometimes but you do need to be writing all the time. average prof
I would take him again, He made it a lot easier for me to understand math 280 than math 180, the only way to pass his class is to read before class, do the homework, and work as many problems as you can before quizzes and exams.
Mr. Greenheck is an amazing professor that is great at lecturing! He respects all the students and doesn't scoff at you for making mistakes. His mid-lecture side tangents are the best and they keep the class interesting. If your looking for a funny calc prof this is your guy!
Pre COVID, Prof Greenheck explains everything thoroughly and engagingly. This carried true into online transition, where he pre-records his lectures and spends his class time answering/explaining any questions. There are 9 quizzes (lowest dropped), 4 exams and a final (lowest exam replaced by final). HW is graded by cumulative average. A must take!
Great Professor. There is a quiz every week, but they are very short and pretty easy if you do the homework. He prerecords his lectures and then uses class time to review examples or answer questions. Attendance is not mandatory except for the first few weeks of class. Very understanding and will reopen homework if you get behind.
Professor Greenheck is the best math professor I've had here at Grossmont. Lectures are prerecorded and class meetings are for review and going over any new material. He lets you know what section the quiz will be on along with tests. He changed homework dates if you fell behind. Overall, great professor and would recommend taking him for Calculus!
dont take him he keeps you longer in class which means he goes 30mins over and exams are not what he says it is he tries to lie and say is the same as the study guide. avoid at all cost you will regret taking him. the reviews on here is 10 % of people who barely passed which accounts 90% who failed .
way too much homework extreme tough grader he always makes a lot of mistakes during lectures which makes learning from him confusing very inflexible instructor never again go with someone if you need calculus.
Very Unorganized professor! Notes are everywhere in a single piece of paper which makes it confusing to understand. If you do not have other classes and ready to learn on your own by using YouTube, then you can take his class but not recommend. Worst I ever had is this professor!
I would've enjoyed this professor had it been in person probably. He makes you feel like you should know all the material beforehand. If you're not good at math don't take him. Expects quizzes to be done in 20 mins. your test work should be exactly like the notes apparently.
He is tough to understand, if you aren't a math genius, good luck kiddos.
this professor expect you to know Calculus right away and he wants test to be exactly like the notes . he gives us less than 20mins for the majority of the quizzes and the test is nothing like the study guide and he is very picky when grading a test or quiz . take the risk you will regret taking him . find another professor
Mr. Greenheck provides videos for you to watch before class. In class, he covers the material and pertinent examples. He will meet with you in office hours for extra help. The tests are straight forward, similar to the homework. He is kind and considerate. Follow directions and work hard. You will succeed. Don't believe the negative reviews.
Professor Greenheck is a good teacher. Calculus is hard, if you put in the work you will succeed. He really likes when people participate and ask questions, and he is a very fair grader when it comes to quizzes and exams. Don't listen to the bad reviews, if you're ready to put in the work, you will do perfectly fine in his class.
Highly recommend taking professor Greenheck, gives great feedback, always willing to stay after class for extra help. Has office hours where he will also help you understand concepts. He also may postpone due dates, so you have extra time. He is always cracking jokes throughout class! I cant say it enough, you wont regret taking him! The best!
Amazing professor! As long as you make an effort to learn, he will go out of his way to help you understand! I have taken him for two classes and look forward to more. He is the most patient professor I've had, meaning he will exhaust every learning strategy he has to make sure you understand. 100% would recommend Mr. Greenheck.
Professor Greenheck was an absolute gem. I took him for Calculus in my last semester at community college and he made it easy. There was a lot of work but he made the lectures engaging, helped with any questions, and overall made the class enjoyable. I would take him again if I had an opportunity and hope other math classes are like his.
You may see a ton of horrible reviews, but those are from ppl he kicked out for cheating. His courses are rigorous, but very fair. Calculus is hard stuff, and the reason why you haven't gotten your quiz/test grade back is because he's trying to give you every point he can. He is AMAZINGLY helpful if you go to office hours. All around 100% awesome.
Great professor! All lecture videos were posted at the beginning of the semester and in class, we would go over more problems to better understand the material. The amount of homework was reasonable and relevant to the course. Exams and quizzes were exactly as expected and easy if you put time into studying. I highly recommend taking Mr. Greenheck!
Professor Greenheck is the best! I don't think I could have passed calculus with anyone else, and I ended up doing it with a B+. He is not an easy teacher, but this is not an easy subject, and I needed someone to challenge me so that I could feel confident to move up to Calc 2 and 3. Also, he uses some pretty great colloquialisms.
Professor Greenheck is a great teacher and youll be super ready for calc 2 if you take his calc 1. The lecture videos posted online were amazing. The homework (practice makes perfect ) was thorough, and he had plenty of office hours to ask questions. He gives all the tools you need master calc1 and cares about students success.
I took professor dan this spring. His class is very well organized and expectations were clear throughout the entire semester. His exams are very fair and if you have been going to lecture and doing the homework you should have no problems. He gives partial credit which is super important for a calculus 3 class where the devil is in the details.
Professor Greenheck was one of the best teachers I've ever had. He really had my back when I was struggling. The pre-recorded lectures were very in-depth. There was not very much homework. Unlike many professors at Grossmont, Mr. Greenheck actually answers his emails.
Professor Greenheck wants all his students to pass the class. Gives enough notice before an exam/quiz. Mentions what will be on the quiz. Goes over review sheet for each exam and shows step by step. Very understanding about outside factors and pushed back hw assignments when students asked. Also, has great stories to share. Take if you can!
I would never recommend this teacher. don't wast your time on him, he is really unorganized and extremely hard grader, the class average exam score are really low, if you already take his class, good luck on you, if you did not take it yet, my recommend is go find another professor instead of him.
I recommend professor Daniel Greenheck strongly. He was one of the best teachers I ever had. He has pre-recorded lectures for all subjects clearly. He gives good grades to students who are trying and hardworking. I was never afraid to ask a question because I knew he'd explain it to my understanding and never make me feel stupid.
In my opinion, he's not the most efficient with his assigning homework. For example, he'll assign all the odd questions in a chapter for hw without looking at what questions are basically the same. Be comfortable with derivatives and u-sub integration as he won't hold your hand. Overall a good professor if you are willing to participate in class.
Provided lecture videos for each lessons that could be accessed before the in-class lecture. Was willing to move homework deadlines for students. Most homework problems had answers in the book, so you can check if you are getting them right. Tells what to study for quizzes. A formula sheets was allowed on exams when needed. Fun personality!
Professor Greenheck's classes are not easy. That's because math is not easy. To understand it and get good at it, you have to put in the work. Professor Greenheck does a great job at making sure that you really understand the concepts, which helps immensely when you get to upper division classes.
Highly recommend taking professor Greenheck, he is an amazing teacher really cares about his students and always willing to stay after class to help you out if you didn't understand a topic in class. I don't really see were all the negative comments are coming from, I took him for math 178 and math 180 and he was a awesome teacher!
I wouldn't recommend taking his class if you're not a Math Major. He is pretty rude sometimes and expects everyone to get everything fast, he assumes everyone is cheating during the exams on zoom and puts anxiety on students. If you're not that great at math I don't recommend taking him. Find someone nicer.
Look hes not too bad in regards to teaching. Sure he expects you know things and wont review them. Sure he makes blunt comments that can be perceived as rude. But he explains things well for the most part. Unfortunately hes very right leaning and feels the need to drag it into his lectures. I dont care what you believe, but you teach math only.
As a stem major, I have encountered some pretty difficult classes. However his class began to affect my mental health. If you have a busy schedule do NOT take him. If you have plenty of time then go for it. He seems to forget we have a life outside this math class.
I am a big fan of math and feeling challenged by material. However, the structure of his class makes it impossible for students to process and learn. He makes homework sections due the week AFTER he has discussed it. This means the week that you finally get to the homework, he's already 4 sections ahead of you. It can be overwhelming. STAY AWAY!
Professor Greenheck is a very tough grader. He tends to assume that everyone just gets everything right away and doesn't take the time to work through problems step by step breaking each one down. He also works at an extremely fast pace which is very hard to understand. If you aren't a math major or anything related. I would stay away from him.
is a difficult math teacher to understand. He does not always go in order when it comes to teaching math sections, it gets very messy and confusing. Not to mention he can teach up to 3 sections in a one and a half hour class. ALSO,He makes controversial comments thats should not be made for a math class. teacher is very overwhelming. DONT TAKE HIM
Professor Greenheck is a great professor. His class is tough and requires students to spend a LOT of time on the course. If you are a math prodigy, this class will be a breeze. Otherwise, try harder according to him. His exams are not like the homework questions or study guide but apply the same concepts (kind of).
Is he the worst teacher? Not necessarily. His lectures are recorded and he expects you to watch them on your own. Theyre about an hour each. be warned HE GIVES A LOT OF HOMEWORK and itll be on sections that we did a long time ago. Not very organized. I wouldnt recommend taking him. Choose a different professor.
precalculus and I took it online. Honestly, he is an amazing professor. You need to put in the effort and you shall receive back gratitude and marks and he will notice your hard work. He explains things very well but can be somewhat quick. He teaches in a way that goes back to why it is the way it is. He will be harsh if you do not care/attend. :)
He simply expects you to show up, do homework, and the study guides. Math isnt easy, but he cares about students who care about their education. If youre not committed, then thats on you. He deserves a raise, and I hope hes treasured as a professor. TAKE HIM. FYI: he never veers from the problems he assigns (unlike other horrible professors).
Clear and concise. Exams weren't overly difficult. All in all pay attention to the fundamentals of each section and you'll succeed.
Really enjoyed second semester with Prof Greenheck! Definitely recommend. Nothing tricky in his class. Exams are very manageable and he's willing to work with you if you show some effort.
He's not that bad of a guy. My problem is he goes very fast when lecturing, can cover multiple sections in one meeting. For quizzes, he will tell you that they will look similar to certain problems, study the ones near them. Exams are challenging. First problem is always hard. There is a lot of homework. I did more work in this class out of all.
Professor Greenheck is very caring professor he good at conveying information. he let you know what exactly going to be in the test. and he is very helpful in his office hours.
He was an extremely helpful and a caring professor. The course is challenging but with his guidance it is definitely doable. Put in the time and effort and you will get through it. I would recommend him as a professor since he genuinely cares and goes out of his way to help out.
This class was very difficult compared to previous classes I'd taken, however the professor explained the concepts in a very clear way and quickly answered any questions posted in the chat. In addition he also graded assignments fairly and included partial credit on quizzes and exams for questions that were incorrect but followed the correct steps.
This class is no walk in the park. I am not the best at math, and while I certainly had to struggle for my grade, having taken this class I feel that I have a much deeper understanding for the concepts in calculus. If you have any questions make sure to ask, he is very willing to stop and make sure every student fully understands.
What I like about professor Greenheck is that he doesn't spoonfeed you all the things you need rather gives you solid guidelines on what to learn which awards to a deeper understanding of the material. Lectures are concise and well-organized. With this, I can optimistically say I am ready for Calc2.
Easy grader, will ask you to lay out everything you know in order to add you points. Great choice if you're willing to learn Calc in order to progress further in harder Calc classes. I'm glad I had him as a professor.
Dude is not a nice person, constantly accuses you of cheating if you look at your computer screen for too long and all around doesnt give a crap about students and their mental health. I have to retake this class because he wouldnt respond to any of my emails that i sent him when i was having a hard time and failed the last two exams.
Professor greenheck is the best, he is so caring and will tell you what is important and what is not. I was in his calc 2 and calc 3 classes, and I would take his classes if I could, if you did great on your homework you should be fine in the tests.
As long as you pay attention to his lecture and engage in class activity, you will be fine. He is funny and very thoughtful person.
Mr. Greenheck knows the material really well and teaches in a way you can more easily understand. I took this class from another instructor and she could not explain the concepts well. I am so glad I took his class, I feel well prepared for Calculus II.
I really enjoyed Mr. Greenhecks Calc III class. His class strikes a good balance between understanding the material and success; he wants you to learn but does not expect you to be a Math major in his class. He prepared us well for our quizzes and exams and gives plenty of partial credit on all problems. I learned a lot in his class.
Best math teacher I ever had. Straightforward. Tests questions are just like the examples in class. I plan to take him for calc 3.
Awesome teacher. Always willing to answer questions and offer help. Never condescending. He breaks down the topics so a preschooler could understand. Does many examples in class. The exams follow the lectures. Take him!!!!!
I really learned a lot from his class.
Professor Greenheck helps you understand the concepts. If you ask a question he works with you until you get it. If you want to get ready for the next class you should take him.
I really liked his teaching style. He explains things in a way that helps you better understand.
If you want to get ready for Calc I this is the class to take.
You need to do the homework in order to understand the concepts. He grades fairly, gives partial credit for all your work. I enjoyed his class.
I wish I could take all my math courses with Mr. Greenheck, he's understanding, encouraging, and a great teacher. I hope hes able to get back to in person, I really looked forward going to his lectures when I attended his classes.
I took calculus over the summer having never taken it before. It was very work intensive but he teaches the concepts extremely well. If you put in the work you will get a good grade.
Great teacher. Took him over the summer for math 180. Clear and concise explanations. Very kind with a sense of humor. I would definitely recommend him.
This man is super goated, by far the best professor I've ever had in my academic career. Come to class, participate and give good effort, you will pass the course. Man is super nice and insanely funny.
Professor Greenheck is an okay professor. His online lectures don't really connect with the assignments given. He grades very hard and sometimes changes your grade weeks later out of no where, which I find very unfair because if you grade something, you should not go and change it 3 weeks later. If something is not ready, do not grade it.
I ended up dropping the class. Greenheck is very nice and respectful, but if you are not naturally good at math then his teaching style prob isn't for you. Most people who didn't seem like natural math people dropped the class even before I did. HW isn't reflective of what's taught in class and on tests. Moves very fast through material. Not for me
Greenheck is a great professor. Sometimes he went off-topic but it was fun to interact with him. I was able to pass the class while working 30+ hours a week without having to take much of my own time going over the sections. He has office hours four times a week and has a study guide based on all the questions from the exams including the final.
Prof Greenheck is a very respectable and knowledgeable teacher. He wants students to do well and understand the concepts. During lectures, he will tend to skim over proofs and certain examples but he provides in depth video lectures on canvas for clarification. Get the book as well as the solutions manual and you will succeed. An overall good guy.
Guy doesn't come to class prepared and goes on many tangents. Assigns inconceivable amounts of homework and only lectures over the books. The homework does not match the tests and he give a pretest that looks nothing like the test. He really try's to lead you astray and use lingo to make questions more difficult on exams.
This is a guy who really cares about the success of students. You can tell through everything he does and says.
The best professor in Grossmont
He is the best professor I ever had. Gives what you need exactly exams are easy
His explanations in class were clear and easy to understand. Anytime I had a question, he would take the time to answer that question. The questions on the homework are different from the content of the test. Therefore, the key to doing well on the test is to reflect on the lessons and to understand and properly digest the content of the unit.
Great professor, the work may be hard but the support is there. Study well and you will do good, his stories and strategies are great and he is able to apply math problems to real things and that can help so much with understanding.
I had Greenheck for math 176, 180, and 281. I was very glad I had him all 3 semesters. Very good at explaining concepts, especially in office hours, which I utilized. Test are based off homework and will test your knowledge. He does care about your grade and wants you to pass, as long as you put in the work and effort. He will help you learn!
Great teacher, would recommend. Advice would be to go over the chapter before lecture and to do the every single homework. I slacked on the homework and easily fell down the cycle.
I live 30 minutes away from Grossmont and only chose Prof Greenheck for the summer because the ones in my area were pretty bad. And It was worth it! He cares about you passing and doing your best in the class and is always helpful when you ask him questions. Of course, doing summer calc 2 in six weeks isn't easy but you can do it if you have him.
FANTASTIC professor! He really cares about you getting something out of his class not just doing well on exams. We had 4 exams and 10 quizzes. Homework was reasonable and you NEED to go to lectures if you want to do well. Prof. Greenheck has funny lectures and will always help if asked. If you don't feel confident in math, he will get you there!
Professor Greenheck is so laidback! The homework and quizzes were online but class met in person. Keep up with the schedule. You can also turn stuff in late but with a tiny penalty. He kinda covers information from the homework/quizzes, but in class we didn't do much. We were meant to have 4 exams, but he listened to what we said and cut Exam 4!
This professor was super dope! He really connected with his students and was a very fair grader. 10/10 one of the best professors I've had.
Mr Greenheck is one of the best if not the best math teacher I have had in my entire life. First of all, he teaches in great depth. So much so that class time is not nearly enough. He's very understanding and welcoming especially during his office hours. We would crowd his office and he would still welcome us. Show effort and you shall receive.
Mr. Greenheck is one of the best teachers I've ever had in terms of his ability to convey topics in a way that's understandable. However, this class is very challenging. His quizzes aren't bad, but the tests are really difficult. You'll do well if you put in the time. Very accessible outside of class and willing to help during office hours.
I have taken this class before and when I took Bus Calculus with Greenheck he accused me and the entire intersession class of cheating and using outside sources. He threatened to report us if happened again even though I only used notes from homework. Horrible Professor, a bunch of students dropped out immediately after this altercation.
Taken in fall semester of 2023. I was struggling with a d and helped me with any homework assignments. Curved tests when needed wants to see you pass. The homework needed to be purches through a website that was kind of difficult but listening to the lectures will help you overcome it.
He accused the entire class of using AI, so he's collectively making us all suffer. He accused me of using AI, and I never have; he graded my last exam a 0 with no explanation. Terrible professor, don't waste your time!! It's a math class. He will accuse you of AI!!! Don't take him and let him ruin your academic honesty. It's not worth your time.
this guy is the toughest grader I've ever had. do not take him no matter what, drop out of college before u take this guy. trust me. he would take points away for the smallest mistakes. he has a miserable life and takes it out on his students. DO NOT TAKE THIS GUY
Lectures were pretty well constructed and really takes time to go over problems with students. Gives good feedback. Class was at 7am but still managed to give everyone a laugh or two here and there. Students can really thrive in his class if you stay active and engaged. Was pretty reasonable when asking for any kind of extension or compensation.
Math 120 is a tough class with a professor who is not very helpful. Lectures and textbook don't seem to align with tests. unstuckstudy was a lifesaver for preparing - much better than the professor's materials.
His classes are fun and you actually learn a lot, he always makes sure you understand and if you don't he is always available after class. His quizzes are always easy. There is a lot of hw but you need it if you want to understand better. I love this professor and I would take his class again if I could.
Be prepared for ALOT of work. As a professor he is really nice and sweet and will let things slide in order for you to get a good grade, but there is a lot of homework assignments in this class and the EXAMS are TOUGH, everything is graded as you submit it. Advice is to do really good on the homework assignments just in case you do bad on the exams
His assignments, quizzes, and exams are not bad just time consuming. You must show your work the way that HE WANTS to see it. I didn't understand some of the ways he did math so I would use youtube to help, which ended with me getting a 0 on an exam bc it wasn't written the way he liked it and dropped my grade 2 letters. He's ok, GoodLuck!
Professor Greenheck is very kind, lenient and knowledgeable, however his teaching style is not the best for a beginner core class like calc 1.I never really understood the example problems we did bc the steps were never clear. exams are extremely hard because you are teaching yourself the material and never know what to expect. communication is key.
Professor Greenheck gives “chill dad” vibes in his classes. He is so laidback and very caring. If you ever need to ask a question he takes the time to answer them. The lectures are pretty chill and he is a great grader. As someone who is horrible at math, this class was super easy and easily comprehensible. Highly recommend him!
as a person he's very chill and funny. when it comes to lectures beware of how unorganized and messy things can get. (i need clear step by step) lots of homework. regular 4 exams and final. weekly quizzes. i had to teach myself this material because he sucks at teaching clearly. never would i ever take him again. save yourself
Awesome professor who made math fun to learn. He understands the difficult concepts of math and explains them in ways that are easy to understand. He gives students multiple opportunities to pass this class even if they are failing. If you fail his course, it's solely due to a lack of effort as a student and not him as a professor.
Greenheck was a really awesome professor and his class wasn't very difficult. His exams were tough but overall, it was a good class. He lets you take quizzes after class if you missed or were late. Shows that he really cares about you passing his class. I would recomend him!
Professor Greenheck is very understanding when it comes to students. Coming from someone who isn't that good at math (especially calculus), he helped me understand it better. He encouraged students to come to office hours if they were confused and would even give points back to improve your score. Coming out of this class, I learned a lot.
A picky & tough grader. Accepts no work that is not done exactly as he taught, despite us all having different math backgrounds. Lectures are long & often don't feel related to the homework or exams. He expects you to dedicate your whole life to his class alone & dissects every single move you make; he must have too much time on his hands.
He's a great teacher! A majority of the time, he simplifies concepts to make them easier to comprehend during lectures. A critique I have is that sometimes he gets so invested in a problem, and it can make you feel lost. Outside of that, he's funny, and his conspiracy theories are fun to hear.
He wants you to do well, it can be tough as many other math classes are but if you put in work and show up then you should be fine.
RUN AWAY. He's your typical old man professor who can't teach clearly. Super unorganized and hard to keep up with
Hes a great person, lots of homework but honestly its good study material. As long as you pay attention, do assignments on time and speak up when confused youll do great
Great professor for Math 170. Very helpful and always willing to explain concepts until they make sense. The lectures are clear, and the examples really help with understanding the material. I learned a lot in this class and felt much more confident in math by the end. Highly recommend taking this professor.
Genuinely the worst teacher, This man just liked to talk. If you want to learn and do good please don't take him. He was very unorganized and a bad grader, most people failed his class, He should not be a teacher. He always managed to get politics involved while teaching, although I share his political view, I find it inappropriate in a math class.
