I took this Political Science course online and was surprised that it was not that hard. I don't believe I deserve the grade I received, since most of my assignments were not done properly. He gives you the benefit of the doubt, helps you out when you ask. Try your best to complete each assignment and you'll be fine. overall i thought he was good

This class is a lot of reading but of course i did none. He is a really understanding professor and does whatever he can for his students, if you need help just ask. My only complaint is that he doesnt have notes on the board for long so after every lecture id have like 50 pictures of the power points on my phone.

Professor Hamman is an awesome professor. His class is very straight forward. His quizzes are online with every answer easily found within the textbook. He gives unit exams, along with study guides that clearly tell you everything that is going to be on the test. All the tests are open bookopen note. Strongly recommend; he is such a cool guy!

I loved Mr. Hamman i took him for summer. The class was fast paced but it was very interesting and he would answer every question you may have even the ones you thought were stupid. Honestly Professor Hamman is an amazing professor. I took his online course and he truly cares about all of his students. He emails constant reminders and heads up to keep you on track with your assignments. There were absolutely no quizzes or tests for this course, just a midterm and final paper. Definitely take Dr. Hamman for political science.

I took his class, American History for summer semester. He is a great professor, very helpful, understanding, and grading is based on your activity. I enjoyed every single second in his class, and I will take his Political Science class for Spring semester.

Took Prof. Hamman during summer for History 7B, and the class was a breeze. All online quizzes for each chapter, (just skim text for answers), and a few in-class multiple choice tests. All of his tests were multiple choice, and were allowed a cheat-sheet on the test as well (front and back). He passed the BAR and could be a lawyer, but teaches. :)

Hamman is a great teacher. He's clear with everything, and answers all questions asked in class. He's straightforward about assignments. Quizzes are online about every 2 weeks, and there is an assignment online every 3 weeks. He posts a study guide before each test, and you fill it out. The last 25 min of each test is open book. I recommend him!!

Excellent professor! I took his online 8-wk course. We did a lot of writing, but it was not hard because he is very clear and provides you with the tools to complete assignments. He even sends reminders to submit work! He teaches you the basics, and you leave the class with enough knowledge to decide where you stand, politically. Take him!

I'm not really into political science but this class gave me a whole new perspective on the material presented. I definitely recommend taking this online course even though there were a lot of assignments due in a week. Time passes really fast in this class because it's only 8 weeks long. Participation in peer discussions is also very vital.

I had online class with this professor, and he really wants you to utilize the discussion area to learn and engage with other students. Expect to write longer and detailed essays, discussion assignments, and even responses to other students. As long as you are detailed with your answers the class and material are easy. His online quizzes you can find online. He has 4 exams in total. Straight forward class, doesn't grade to harsh. Do all assignments and your good. Attendance its a must!! His lectures are sometimes boring. Exams are based on his lectures.

Definitely one the the best professors for online political science. There are about 6-8 assignments due every week on Sunday. Nothing was too difficult as long as you went through the directions. I never read the book, but referenced to it like twice. You need to write long and detailed answers or you will get a bad grade. Participation is vital!

Great and funny professor. All of the tests are partially open-notes, so make sure to cram all the study guide info into the notes.

I took him as an 8-week online course and it was great. I have never been interested in political science as a subject but he made it interesting and related it to current events in our government system. You will need to be very detailed in his assignments as he does not like effortless and dull responses. It was an easy A for me.

He was a very passionate and funny guy. Really enjoyed his class and his great character. The tests were definitely hard even though he let us use our books for half of the test time. I barely pulled off an 91%. BTW, Attendance is mandatory since its a part of ur grade.

Show up, be on time, do the work, pass the class. His lectures can be long sometimes but he tries to make them interesting. Tests are pretty ez, based on the book, half the time is open book. Open to questions,knowledgeable, answers as best as he can. He tries his best to show arguments from both sides. Slightly conservative,looks like Rand Paul.

Great class, and an Easy A. Professor is pretty funny. Class does get lecture heavy.. Attendance was 20% of our grade so be sure to go to class! Tests are half-open book. By that, I mean that you can use your book during the second half of the test. Overall a great prof, really caring about his students, I don't regret taking this class..

Lectures the whole class but makes sure understand it. He goes into depth into each chapter and to make it easier, he connects current events to things we are currently learning. Tries his best to make the class fun.

Took Poli Sci 1 in Winter 2017. Very easy course; never fell below a 90%. Complete the assignments on time and you'll definitely get full credit. There are many writing assignments, but as long as you know what you're talking about you'll do well. Write at least 2 paragraphs for online discussions. Midterm/Final is a project and a timed essay.

(I took his class during the winter intercession) Professor Hamman is a fair grader and to make the class engaging I suggest keeping up with current events in the USA. The online work is pretty self explanatory, and the grading criteria is clear. His class is wonderfully structured to be to the point. He emphasizes anything you truly need to know.

Took the 8 week online course. It was very challenging but I learned a lot! Prof. Hamman is well organized and gives assignments that actually help you understand what you're learning. He's a tough but fair grader and gives good feedback. If you aren't willing to work hard in this class you probably won't do well, but it's a great class if you are!

Professor Hamman's lectures are boring to be honest, BUT all his homework is online. He gives quizzes on every chapter of the book, but it is also online so not hard to get an A on those. Need to study for exams! However, he allows 30 min of open book during exam. He's a cool professor who tries to be funny (sometimes he is). I recommend.

I took Professor Hamman's Political Science hybrid class in the fall, and was very impressed by his teaching style. He's very passionate about the subject, and makes the lectures quite intriguing. He provides a study guide for all the unit exams and finals, which is beyond helpful. Very caring, and gives great feedback. Definitely recommended.

Not a super tough grader, but he doesn't make it easy to get full credit. Doesn't have any tests/quizzes, but has a bunch of short eassy question assignments. There were quite a lot of assignments but they aren't tough. My only major complaint was with the e-Portfolio because it took up too much time and was, in the end, kind of pointless.

While this is my first college course ever taken actually; I didn't think he was unfair as some have reviewed. If you actually go thru the rubrics, and keep to the deadlines, you will definitely get a good grade. Biggest trend I saw was last minute submissions, which resulted in terrible responses.

I took his 8 week online class and it very easy for me. During the 8 week course, every week we would have about 5 or so assignments. Half were SoftChalk Assignments that would take like 5 minutes and the others were a discussion and a weekly writing assignment. Highly recommend taking his class 100%. Just do your assignments and you'll pass.

If you him as a hybrid class the class is really easy but you feel like you are teaching yourself the class. Tests are on online so are Exams.

I took his hybrid class and it was very easy. The tests and quizzes are obviously open note. There is a lesson and quiz every week and a test about every other week, all online. When you go to class (once a week) he will lecture about what you read in the book. Funny and sweet professor, I really appreciated his class and I didn't mind going.

I took his 6 week winter course and managed to keep my grade above 97% throughout the short semester. The chapters are very interesting and the soft chalk assignments really help you understand the readings better. He is an amazing professor that gives good feedback ! If you have the chance take his online course during the short semesters !

Prof. Hamman is an incredibly passionate and engaging teacher! I took his Hybrid class, and although all the exams are open note, I truly felt that I gained a lot from this course. His lectures were absorbing, and I found always myself excited to attend them! He's also very open minded and won't belittle you for having different political beliefs.

Professor Hamman was a great teacher. I loved every second of the class and it inspired me to pursue Political Science as a major. The classes were well structured. There was a lot of reading but it is imperative to do if you want to understand the concepts and get a good grade. Would highly recommend if you are ready to work hard.

He is really a nice Professor, care for his students, fast in responding on every question you might have and very clear on his grading criteria. Softchalk is very helpful, he even put this as 20% of the students grade. Just be ready to read and participate on all posted weekly discussions and youll surely get a good grade.

Has a lot of quizzes and exams, but they are pretty easy to do. Homework assignments can be hit or miss though as he grades them harshly. Lectures were decent as he puts in a lot of detail and real life examples.

Amazing Professor. Very passionate about the course and topics. Makes you work for your grade, but only because he wants you to understand government, especially now more than ever. He's a great professor! Yes he expects long responses in discussion posts but if you're actually doing your work they're pretty easy to write! As long as you hit all the points in the rubric (in which he DOES give clear guidelines, I don't know why some people say he doesn't specify what he wants), you'll get full credit on assignments.

Taking his summer class was one of my best decisions. I took this course at the last minute before my senior year of college at CSUF in order to fully complete my GE requirements. Professor Hamman made this class super easy and understanding. Despite the workload, just do your assignments, understand the prompts, and hell give you a good grade.

He may have high standards when writing essays and expects you to provide long responses from discussions, but he just wants you to apply what you learn & have valuable conversations with classmates. Professor Hamman is a pretty good professor. I took the short 8-week political science course and although there was a lot of work, the class was pretty easy and mostly quizzes, tests, and discussions. There were a lot of questions on the test but they were easy and Professor posts good lectures.

He doesnt give feedback, youll never know why you got the grade you got. Its frustrating because youll try so hard and get minus points on an assignment but no reason as to why.

He has a good layout for his online course. It is straightforward. He gives you information including a thorough lecture you can watch in addition to the textbook and other study materials. If you utilize all the provided resources you can do well in this class and learn a lot about our government.

Professor Hamman is a relatively good professor. His class(especially online) can be incredibly test heavy with my last week of class having 5 tests but they're all very straight forward. One of the things I liked about this class is that you didn't have to buy a text book. The text book was online and accessible the first day. It wasn't a a hard class and there was some humor provided. He knows his stuff and he really seems to care about his students.

POLS 1 - Intro to American Govt. was one of the best classes I have ever taken. I didn't know much about government and politics before I took this class. Now I feel like I could have an intelligent conversation about our government and politics. Did you know law enforcement needs a warrant before they can look inside your cell phone?! Good class.

He is understanding, the syllabus is clearly laid out, & the course is self explanatory. only 3 assignments throughout the 6 weeks, and the rest are just quizzes/some tests. the quizzes are open book/notes as well. i can't stress enough, TAKE THIS CLAS!!

Professor Hamman is a well-educated instructor who also practices law, making him a great resource to seek information from during lectures about certain aspects of the law and government. Would recommend to take if you are either taking this class as part of your basic requirements for your degree or if you are majoring in PoliSci/History/Law.

This professor is actually really easy and he is super sweet! The only downside is that you have to read a lot, which is understandable since its a PoliSci class, other than that it was 2-3 chapters a week, quizzes on each chapter, exams after 3-4 chapters, and 2 assignments and like 3 discussion the whole semester. I would 100% take him again!

Grades consisted of chapter quizzes (11 total), exams (4), primary document quizzes (3), and a couple of discussions/assignments (4). I read 2 chapters a week, took 2 quizzes, took an exam based on both chapters and did a primary document short quiz. Overall great teacher :) I was not overwhelmed even though it was a 6-week class. Take him!

His class is an absolute pleasure to be in. Really cares about the subject, hilarious, kind, and an understanding prof. Straightforward quizzes and exams, just read the textbook. A few discussion posts, quick and easy research write-ups, but it is really simple and interesting. A good class to take with overwhelming STEM courses, take him!

Loved his class! Highly recommend easy to follow, clear and organized. Grades on time; responds fairly quickly on Canvas InBox. Manageable workload and quizzes, texts are open notes! Best Prof.

There are a few discussions, weekly quizzes, and a few exams but they are all open-book. He replies to emails/ messages pretty quickly! I love going to class every week because he made the subject fun and interesting! He's one of my favorite professors at PCC. I highly recommend his class!

He's really easy, few discussions and assignments, and tests. The reading can be tedious if you take in depth notes, his lectures are pretty long. However, his class is very informative and easy, you do learn a lot and getting an A is really easy. I recommend him if you want to learn a lot and get an A.

Very, very passionate lectures. He never bored me and I was always engaged on what he had to say. Quizzes and exams are all online. You will need to read a ton, but it's manageable. Overall and amazing professor and I was happy to be one of his students.

Professor Hamman was an excellent professor. He is a lawyer, and his knowledge is evident. He is very organized, well prepared, and has great video lectures. Best professor who made the class interesting. I learned a lot and would definitely take him again. Work load was very manageable because of his clear expectations and organization.

Very easy class to take over intersession breaks. I liked the way he structured the class material and there were a lot of discussion posts that were thought-provoking and interesting. Make sure you turn in assignments on time and the quizzes are openbook.

I took his summer online class. Overall okay as long as you do the work--the textbook is available online and there's quizzes every week. A few writing assignments/discussions, and he's picky about what you write but if you follow the guidelines you'll probably be fine. Tests weren't that bad since a lot of the questions were also on the quizzes.

Very easy class. Nice, easy professor. He does ramble during lectures, but I honestly left knowing more rather than if he lectured off the textbook/slides. You can skim to the textbook, but he covers the chapters in class. Easy discussions and straight forward tests. It was a pleasure taking his class!

Summer 2023. Idk why he has negative reviews, probably best for summer/winter? I got full credit on all writing assignments even though writing isn't my strong feat. He allowed open notes for the quizzes and exams are related to it. Both the lowest exam and quiz scores dropped. Not that much work for a 3-unit course. Also well-informed class.

I took him for the winter semester, pretty easy but for a lot of the assignments he'd remove 1 - 3 points and never give full points which is not a big deal. There were barely any discussion assignments and just a bunch of quizzes and if you ace the quizzes it's pretty easy. I'm assuming the negative ratings are for the longer semesters.

His lectures might be long, but you can tell he is passionate about what he is talking about. In his lectures he might make corny jokes, but they definitely make me laugh. He is very understanding if you communicate with him.

This professor is amazing! I learned a lot in his class. He is very kind, friendly, and always willing to help. He makes the class fun and easy to follow. If we ask any question, he explains it really well. One of the best teachers I have had!

Professor Hamman was a blast to take, his class was very well taught. His lectures get interesting and he also adds comedy into what he teaches to keep the class engaged. He's also accessible outside of class and gets back to you in a reasonable time over the weekends when you reach out. His work load isn't much and very manageable.

I took Hamman for Politics and Government class and he was pretty helpful! As someone who doesn't enjoy history he was able to make it relatively interesting by using real like events. I would warn that his exams can be pretty tough, some of the questions can be really hyper specific to certain dates or events so pay attention to the textbook...

Great professor. Overall easy class, just make sure that you do required responses to peers for discussions so you don't miss points. Sometimes grades a little tough on assignments without feedback but if you do well on tests shouldn't be a problem.

Professor Hamman is an amazing professor! I took his American Government class and enjoyed it a lot. The workload is very manageable, and he is excellent at lecturing. This is coming from someone with a short attention span he genuinely makes lectures engaging and interesting, which makes it easy to stay focused and actually enjoy the class!!
