Funny, cool, great Professor, the best since I started at MCC and this is my 4th semester!!! you enjoy this class. Attend every class and do the assignments,understand what you're being taught, and you'll have no problem passing. If you take Anthropology, you must tkae it with this Professor!

Amazing teacher, just transfered to Mcc this semester from a university and going back to one in the fall.. I wish I was staying because he is worth the money, and the 3 hours and 40 minutes of the class.. I'm a junior and i've never met such an amazing professor in my life.. Definitely the B.E.S.T

I've had this professor for ANT and now SOC. I took him a second time because you can tell he really enjoys teaching. The class is fun and he tries to get everyone involved instead of just talking all class. Textbook isn't needed, which is always a plus. Highly recommended.

Great guy! he's young so he tries to make an easy going social setting. Very knowledgeable but can some times be distracted by his own thoughts,which slows the pace of the lecture

The homework is pretty easy, be careful on his tests though, they are quite challenging, i wouldnt miss his class for that very reason.

Absolutely Excellent Professor!! He knows his stuff! Some Complain that he doesn't put powerpoints online. This is true, but this should never affect your grade if you GO TO CLASS, TAKE NOTES, & STUDY.Dosn't require a book = Saving $$! The exams are based on ONLY INFORMATION TALKED ABOUT IN CLASS, so it makes test even easier. Highly Recommended!!!

He is the BEST professor I've ever had. I had him during the intersession and he somehow fit EVERYTHING into the three weeks we were given with him. He's really caring and is very passionate about what he teaches and his students. Definitely take him if you have the opportunity, you won't regret it

His rambling can take the entire class period, but somewho makes sense. He is highly recommended and well liked by my class. If you are a textbook freak dont take this class. He uses powerpoint. Must learn to be a good note taker. The tests are not that hard if you are awake in class.

Great guy, great teacher. He is really funny. If you study your notes you will do fine on the test. He is easy to follow and makes class fun and interesting. I will be taking as many classes of his as I can.

The most amazing and inspiring professor I have ever had. I am taking every class he teaches, simply for the fact that he teaches it. Even if you don't like the subject, you'll want to show up because he is teaching. He is also very funny, and easy going.

OMG!!! Simply put, the BEST professor I've ever had. I'm taking 102 as well just b/c he teaches it (I don't need it for my major)that's how amazing he is. Super funny too!

I love him!!!! He is so amazing! He makes sure that you understand material. He cares about his students. It's impossible to fail in his class. Almost never homework, no quizzes, only exams.

He really is a fantastic teacher. He doesn't rely on the text or powerpoints for any of the information, he knows the topic backwards and forwards. The reason I think he's one of the best teachers I've ever had is how passionate he is about the subject that he teaches.

Great guy! Makes class fun and exciting! NEVER BORING! He doesn't put his powerpoints online bcause he wants you to come to class! But we don't use a textbook and he tests only on what he lectures on. His tests are quite challenging but if the class does lower than he would've liked, he gives a nice curve! Only 3 HW assignments over the semester.

Where do I begin? I will start with saying he is the only professor I have ever had that can make a 3 hour lecture fun. Yes fun. And he is not afraid to say what is on his mind, which make s him a realist, which I like. But students beware; his tests are smokers! You have to study! I would highly highly highly recommend him

Professor Tyree is hands down the best professor I have ever had. He knows exactly what he is talking about and makes the class SO interesting and fun. I took Cultural Anthropology over intercession which is 3 hours long and he made it amazing! Funny, FUNNY guy, so many stories! TAKE HIM IF YOU HAVE THE CHANCE!!! Takes notes on the powerpoints!

Professor Tyree is a great, great professor. If you have the opportunity, take his class! If I didn't have such a full schedule I would honestly take another one of his classes just because he is teaching it. He gives you all the information you need. Just know his tests are hard, but if you study it won't be a problem!! VERY recommendable!!!!

excellent guy, very knowledgable. he enjoys many tangents, but if you can endure them then its a sure A in the course. he has 2-3 exams, depending on what class, and articles if ur in a WR class, for the most part the articles are a completion grade. great guy though, recommended

I found the material somewhat interesting although I was surprised that I passed the class, primarily because I don't handle going off on tangents very much. But after a conversation with Professor Tyree, I learned to try to look past it.

Great teacher, he goes off on random things pretty much every class. Didn't really learn anything and the exams were really hard, tricky wording. He didn't really go over material that well. Easy grade though

took his soc101 and ant102 class, very knowledgable, attractive and funny as heck! you should go to class for the discussions, likes tangents but theyre fun stories. not alot of work at all, 3 exams only. easy A if you GO TO CLASS. hilarious, i even build my schedule around him. TAKE HIS CLASS BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!!

LOVED THIS TEACHER. the best teacher i have ever had, still email him about interesting things i find online, i had him for 2 classes, and he knew how to make them interesting! take BONES BODIES & DETECTION so much fun with him. we took apart a deer leg in the upstairs bathroom on the floor, hair blood everywhere! haha made my day every class day!

Great teacher-awesome person. Don't bother with the book-just use his PP slides and take notes. Easy A if you attend class and listen to him. Enjoyed it very much even though I thought it was going to be horrible-he made the information entertaining.

This Prof. is always excited about what he's teaching, no matter what it is. Definitely take a class with him if you get the chance, but expect to take notes and participate in the discussions. Not a class to just breeze through! He doesn't ask much outside of class and didn't even require the text or refer to it in lecture.

I LOVED HIM. He is hysterical. Every class was always so fun with him. Sometimes, he does get distracted and will go on random tangents, but you deff need it if you take a class longer than 50 min. It's tough material and you really need to pay attention to him and take good notes, but if you do that it's great. The txt book is not needed!

Take him! Awesome professor. Makes class interesting I actually wanted to come here at 8 am or atleast didn't mind it because I had him as a teacher. Funny, clear, tests are strait from notes, and he is fair. You would be a fool to pick anyone else for sociology.

Great professor. Test are fairly hard if you are not a great test taker but, if you do the other required assingments you will do fine in the class despite test grades.

He is awesome and highly recommended! I loved going to his class :) Not always the easiest material to learn but if you need help he would be more than willing to work with you. I also took his general anthro class and had to take another with him. Definitely one of the best profs at MCC

He is HILARIOUS. He makes such dry material so engaging. I loved coming to his class just because he was so fun to be around. He uses real life examples to relate the material being taught.

He was the best professor at MCC. Never took attendance, there was one homework assignment, and 2 tests and I passed both. Great hilarious guy I would recommend anyone talking SOC 101 to take it with this guy!

Professor Tyree is a legend. Hands down the coolest professor at MCC. His jokes are on par. "But any who, I digress!" Very intelligent professor who received his PhD from THE Ohio State. ANT 101 is a very thought provoking class that is worth taking by all MCC students!

Mr. Tyree is an okay professor. He's totally scatter brained and gets off of task easily. But is a very helpful instructor. I took this class over the summer session and only had to do the following: (8) news summaries about anthropology articles he selects . He only wants a page of summarization double spaced and (3) exams multiple choice. EASY

Ok professor? Prof. Tyree is the funniest and most amusing professor at MCC. Wasn't even interested as this was my elective class instead I came out convinced this class was made for me. Your life experience at MCC won't be completed if you don't take one of his classes. Smart smart smart guy, wish I could clone him and take him home with me.

He's incredibly goofy, but awesome. Very interesting. Easy tests. It's all on notes. Will be looking to take his ANT 102 class soon.

Best teacher I've ever had. He's wicked smart, interesting, funny and down to earth. I love that he brings up his family life and keeps his cell on in case they call(emergency). The material was hard but interesting and the final project was way fun. I took 101 as well (awesome btw) and wish I took 102 w/ him (kicking myself for not). Phanominal!

An odd ball at first, he is extremely funny and will always keep you interested in class. One page articles are super easy A's, but tests questions are extremely difficult even if you study. Does NOT accept missed work. No textbook required, if you wanna pass you must attend class (as he goes over alot of material) & study! No Final.

Awesome teacher. I had to repeat this course because I failed it many years ago when I didn't care. He makes class very interesting! I strongly recommend you attend every class. The exams consist of your notes, discussions and through your readings. He definitely challenged me to be a better student. I will take any class with him teaching.

this class only deepened the absurdity of evolution....even though thts something i didnt know the class even thought,thinking this class was actually going to be interesting as we studied "humankind" but this class was horrible, i did not like it at all. i just needed an ez A liberal arts elective and this class was NOT it. his tests are SOO hard.

He is amazing. I love everything about this class and the teacher except for the fact that he is a little crude at times. For me, I have a person problem when he starts talking about dead children. My daughter was stillborn so the crudeness gets to me. Sometimes its like he doesn't realize they were someone's child, other than that. AMAZING!!

One of the best classes I have ever taken. And also amusing, at the same time. Dr. Tyree always managed to link his personal stories to anthropological topics. Hard to do. But he did it flawlessly, and with immense humor. And he's really hot.

Professor Tyree is my favorite at MCC. He's extremely smart, funny and helpful and makes you feel safe asking any questions. Ten single page articles and three exams. BEWARE: If you do not study, you WILL fail his exams. He makes you think. I half-assed my first study session and if it wasn't for the curve I would have missed my chance for an A.

Best teacher ive had by far. He gives 3 exams and makes you work for the grade. Makes you actually afraid of his multiple choice questions. over all an amazing teacher and wouldnt take another anthro class if it werent for him

Great Professor, keeps it interesting. Makes you want to learn the material even if it's just a course you have to take to get a degree. Would earnestly take any course he has again.

Professor Tyree was a breath of fresh air. He incorporates day to day life with his lectures and he is quite the story teller. I learned and laughed a lot. I looked forward to this class as the material was interesting, especially coming from someone who clearly was passionate about it. Would definitely recommend him to everyone.

Tyree is by far my favorite teacher ever. Very awesome guy. Lectures are always a good time and he's definitely the story teller. You can tell how passionate he is about anthropology and what he does. His classes aren't bad at all. Just come to class listen, talk, and interact. I'm not required to take this class but I do because I love his classes

The tests are really more based on him talking than what's on the slideshow. Be sure to write down some of his examples, they could be on the test.

Professor Tyree was great. Be prepared for story time. He has a story for everything and will spend entire classes telling them. This can be a little annoying but he always gets to every topic eventually. He's a very funny and nice man and is eager to help. Don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it. He wants you to succeed!

Honestly the best professor I've ever had. His lectures are so interesting and he's absolutely hilarious. 3 straight forward tests, and we had to read and respond to some articles. He doesn't work out of a textbook so you HAVE to take notes, but he will also clarify things one on one if you need him to. Taking him again next semester!

I took him for Ant 101, it's a pretty straightforward class. You come to class, take notes, do the assigned articles, and you pass. To me his class was pretty boring, he gets off topic a lot, and drags the lecture.

He's a funny, great, enthusiastic guy. I love how passionate he is about Anthropology and how he injects that passion into his lectures, Every class is a lecture. He goes on a lot of tangents, so if you only want to hear about Anthropology all class then you're SOL. I honestly fell asleep a lot, but all in all it was a good class.

The only problem I had with this class was him getting off topic. Its extremely easy to get off topic which is a little frustrating. All the assignments were very easy and the tests were straightforward. If you don't show up to his lectures don't expect to pass.

Would recommend if you want a lowkey and chill class. However you need to pay attention during class. Honestly do homework and show up in class.

He is a great professor. His deadlines are firm and there is a lot of memorization involved. Textbook not required.

Professor Daniel gives a lot of examples, not only the definition of the lecture.

One of the better professors

I took 2 classes with Tyree before transferring to a 4 year school, and honestly I wish I could have taken more with him. Hes hilarious and I learned so much in his class. Hes so excited about his subject matter, which made me excited about it even though Im an English major. I wish there were more professors like him!

Really decent professor! Took this as an elective online. Reasonable amount of work, and he seems to be available if you ever have questions or issues. Not a bad choice if you want a pretty easy and interesting class.

Took as an intersession course. Material is great and is laid out in a concise way. My issue, and its 100% a me thing, is that the amount of work in some of the modules designed to span a week or so is done in 1 day so you could have 5 hours of documentaries plus a chapter in the textbook and multiple articles before writing the essay and test.

Prof Tyree is a talker but a good guy. His classes are more of dragged on stories than teaching. Overall easy class and all you have to do is one page papers every week and tests. Very long study guides but as long as you study you'll pass.

He was a lovely professor, very caring of his students and hilarious. He gives extra credit work and tests are not to hard. He would go out of his way to make sure we are understanding his lectures.

Dr. Tyree is a very funny guy which will make you want to go to his class. This class was very interesting and he had his own personal experiences of anthropology to share which made this class even more enjoyable.

You will love this guy, he is super chill, very funny, and kind/considerate to students. You have to attend his class otherwise you will suffer for it, but he assigns minimal homework with funny interactive lectures to make you enjoy his class rather than hate it. Even if it's not your major he'll make it interesting for you. Solid 9/10 IGN

Take this class if you want an easy A. One paper assignment a week or every two weeks. There kinda long but its easy. Test after every module. Tests are little tricky but you will for sure pass if you come to most class and pay attention. He's really kind and understanding. Allows retakes and will give great feedback.

This dude was hands down one of favorites. He would go off topic to relate to his life or do something that would get your attention. He gives out assignments that are interesting and can be done easily. All the tests were open notes. 10/10. Would love to be in his class again
