he was funny, ensightful and helpful. Heve gave 4 exams and dropped the lowest grade. he went out of his way to help student's grade. He seemed excited about teaching and that carried over to me.

He teaches you what you need to know and tells you random funny stories to keep your mind going during the 4 hour class. He's not big on the attendance policy. I didn't buy the textbook and got an A. I love Prof. Kaplin! He is not a push-over, his test are generally based on his notes, SERIOUSLY they are not hard if you study, he drops one, the vignettes (diagnoses) are tricky and he does not help you but that is the only "major" challenge to the class. He keeps you up, sometimes talks too much but great person and class. Definitely "A"-able!

He might be hard but you learn in his class. He loves to talk he usely gets off top to get into detail about a disorder and case studies. All his test are average if you study his slides and take notes. You study what he teaches you, you will learn.

Professor Kaplin was one of my all time favorite teachers. He makes the class fun and interesting that you WANT to attend! All his test are based off his power point slides, which are available online. The best part is he drops the lowest scored test. He even curves the the score upwards. I wish I could take all his classes.

I took this class in the summer so it moved very fast. Professor Kaplin has very high expectations for his class. You will have 4 exams, an APA paper, and several homework assignments. He tells a lot of stories and examples. Focus more on his powerpoints than the textbook and you will be fine.

Professor Kaplin is a very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and ambitious professor. He expects his students to put in their best, but that's probably because he does. He has an amusing sense of humor and can even be fun to talk to outside of class about Psychology-related topics. Very helpful and always encourages students to ask questions.

I love his teaching style! even have him for psych history on sundays and he kept the class interesting! always looked forward going to his class, he's a very fair grader as long as you study his notes. VERY helpful and you will definitely finish the semester learning something. He also hates latenesses.

Kaplin is definitely one of the best professors I've had. Not only is he knowledgeable, and presents the material effectively, he is SO FUNNY. my winter course became a comedy club. I'd highly recommend him to anyone who wants to laugh, but is also dedicated to their school work, because there is a lot of studying involved.

By far, one of the best and most genuine professor's at CSI (Prof. Pete is the other). He makes a point to evaluate his tests and curves accordingly. His engaging teaching style and sense of humor will keep you wanting to come to class. Only drawback is he keeps the class the whole class period. :)

I really enjoyed kaplin's class...he definitely keeps the class lively with all his jokes and stories. However the class requires you to do a lot of work but if you don't wait to the last minute the class is not bad just don't procrastinate. At the end he will make sure you will master APA writing.

I think this class is great. He has a real simplistic way of teaching, which is necessary. His tests are modeled after the homework. One critique is that perhaps he could give one HW probl per week rather than 5 HW assignments spread out.

Professor Kaplin lectures aren't boring. But his exams are hard and the questions sometimes aren't in the book or on the powerpoints, usually you would find them online like quizlet. Make sure you read the textbook and print out the powerpoints so that you can make notes while professor kaplin lectures. This class is not an easy A. Goodluck!

Best decision I made was taking Kaplin for Stats. You must be dedicated and your grade will reflect that. Reach out for help during his office hours. 4 exams which are curved and he drops the lowest grade. Computation is the same as the hw & there's multiple choice. Dr. Kaplin has my utmost respect. It comes across that he truly wants to be an amazing lecturer, like those they depict in movies in Ivy Leagues, and I think he's just about there. He really cares about teaching, and his students, but he has high standards. It's a good mix. He tells you exactly how to succeed -- just listen and it will happen.

He not only covers the material in a way thats relatable, he gives practical advice. Very supportive person. Taking him again when I can.

I really didnt know how this class was going to go being it 6 credit class. Prof Kaplin made it so simply for everyone though we had to work for it. His lectures are very informative You get to work in groups for some assignments while others are done individually and the main paper is divided into sections and spread across the entire semester.

Overall he is one of the better professors to take for a 6 credit experimental lab course! He's a tough grader but gives excellent feedback!

Good professor, I took his class in the Winter semester. I had issues joining the google meets and CSI had withdrawn me from the class. I emailed him and he helped me, pushing the admissions center to re-enroll me, because of him I was able to get a high grade to get into the nursing program. Grades are based off easy essays and tests.

Great professor! Grading is straightforward with easy essays and tests. Used Unstuck study for study prep and found it super helpful alongside the free textbook. Would definitely take this class again.

This professor was one of the best I have had at CSI. He blends lectures, clinical stories, and humor to make for a very engaging lecture. He provides a template for the paper and PPT slides for all lectures. He does value attendance and participation. So, make sure you are in class.

I took Dr. Kaplin during the pandemic and in person afterwards. He is a really good teacher both ways, but he was better in person (in my opinion). You will learn a lot from him and his always stays after class for anyone who has questions or concerns.
