Super fun and spunky! Go to class and take notes because that is what the tests are over. There is an open Q&A day then the test is take home over blackboard! There is literally no way to fail if you actually go and put pen to paper! Awesome guy! Only graded by the tests and no final!

Don't buy any of the books if you plan on actually going to class. I don't understand some people in college. My class had about 40 kids in it but only 15 showed up everyday. Class was very easy and Kaufman is a great professor. His sense of humor is a little wack and he wears Polo everyday for some reason but just go to class and its an easy A

I don't always agree with some of what he says, but it's obvious that he cares about his students and wants them to do well. Wants you to understand the material and is dedicated to helping you learn it if you are having trouble. Drops your lowest test score, so your grade is based on 4 tests. They are not hard if you attend class regularly.

He was great. It's easy to get a good grade if you show up and take notes on his lectures. The entire grade is based on tests but they're take home open note tests. He lectures about is exactly what's going to be on the test. I'm not a philosophy major and have no interest in philosophy but he made the class interesting.

He was definitely my favorite professor of the semester. It's not a hard class at all if you attend lecture and take notes, as his tests are take home open note tests. At times the content can be confusing, but he's always willing to help, I'm not a Philosophy major, but I'm taking a class that he teaches next semester just because he's so awesome.

Kaufman is my favorite professor! I was not excited for philosophy but he made it fun! His lectures are hilarious, and you get out early almost every class. Only grades are your 5 exams, which are all online, and open note. He gives you about a week to do them and all the answers are in your notes. Super chill guy, but you do have to go to class

Just show up to class, record his lectures, repeat what he said exactly on the test. It's really as simple as that and he works in stories to his lectures that make them interesting. Good analogies to make ideas understandable, too.

5 tests that are all take home. All the answers from the tests he will describe in detail in lecture multiple times so as long as you're in class and taking notes, you should be fine.

Kaufman is incredibly interesting, hilarious and a great lecturer. Three tests that are all take home, everything is on the lecture notes, and you get a week to complete them. No required reading and you usually get out early. One of my favorite classes

Dr. Kaufman is a really funny professor, does his best effort to explain both sides of philosophical arguments. However, it is very clear that his own political bias determines the tone of the class, he tests based off of his own wording of scholars work. Authentic, funny, thoughtful, but bold and might step on your toes. Awesome class.

This guy is rude. I always feel threatened when asking questions. If you want an elucidate education, steer clear. This teacher performs, he doesn't "teach." Nothing but trite, dochotomy, and myopic dogma. A real shame this is what passes for "Education" in 2020.

I would not recommend this class to anyone. It was incredibly difficult and hard to get help. Not the kindest professor, and I often dreaded going to class. If you are taking this for a Gen-Ed rather than actually majoring in philosophy or having a real passion for it, steer clear.

Professor Kaufman is very passionate about philosophy and he knows his stuff. But your grade is made up by 3 exams (each worth 33.3% of your final grade). I think if this were a seated course I would have enjoyed it, however I don't learn well from posted YouTube lectures. He grades by far too little things. overall an ok choice for a professor.

If the "How'ya doin' fellow kids" meme were distilled into a person, Mr. K. would be it. He tries and fails to be funny far too often, and the class doesn't dig deep enough for anyone even remotely interested in Phil to gain insight. I'm fairly certain I learned more about Phil from my classes in law than from Mr. K.

This is your warning. Firstly, your entire grade is based off of 3 exams, with 10 questions on each; meaning every question is worth 3% of your final grade. I had an A in this course until the final exam, where Kaufman decided to claim I plagiarized a 5 word sentence, which I did not. Therefore, dropping my final grade from an A to a D. Do not take

I took this class online. His lectures and lecture notes were so thorough that I never did the reading and got good grades on the exams. Exams are made up of short answer questions, but theres not a clear grading criteria. Overall, watch the lecture, take good notes, understand the topic fairly well, and you'll be fine.

I took PHI 110 with Kaufman online in the summer and I have no complaints. Graded on only three tests made up of short essay questions that you can look back on the video lectures/lecture notes for at any time. I will say thisif you take his online class, make sure to speed up his Youtube lectures, because he talks very slowly.

Professor Kaufman's class was hard to understand, he was unwilling to communicate with me, and was rude in his email responses. He had poor reasoning as to why I recieved a bad grade on my exam whenever I emailed him. The only grades that you can receive are exams. I will NOT be taking another class from him and recommend that you avoid his class.

Taking this class online was an easy A. Only 3 tests make up your entire grade, but they're easy. His expectations weren't very clear, but as long as you read the lecture notes you'll pass. Tests consist of about ten questions, just write a paragraph for each based on the lectures. I enjoyed watching his lecture videos, would recommend!
