A fantastic professor, but NOT an easy A class. All of Lin's classes are lecture based. Although this is the class I have learned most in, his exams are incredibly hard. He always welcomes questions throughout the class, and is always willing to help if you are struggling. Always makes an effort to help his students.

His lectures are clear. He explains the basic concepts of economic with great clarity and his lectures are interesting and sometimes funny. He has an "extra points" system for good questions that can be very subjective and can make you feel like the dummest students of the world. His test are extremelly hard. Not an easy A

Prof Lin was extremely clear during lectures. I disagree that he was very difficult. His tests came directly from class lectures and the practice tests he posted on blackboard before each test. You don't have to go to class, but if you're not going to read (I didn't), go to class.I did do the practice tests before each test though. Easy enough A.

I took Professor Lin's giant 300 student lecture class and I feel like I learned just as much as in a ten person class. The giant class is a little inconvenient, but he has lots of TA sessions. Plus, there's no homework, only three tests, and lots of extra credit opportunities. Participation and attendance are pretty much irrelevant.

Prof Lin was one of my favorite professors at AU. I had some health problems, which is why my grade is lower and why I missed a good amount of lectures. Luckily attendance isn't mandatory, but you do not want to skip class. His lectures are interesting and entertaining. While you are only graded on 3 tests, he offers a lot of EC and curves.

Those looking for a filler class to meet 120 credits and have at least some interest in econ (required to do well, IMO) can't go wrong here. Lin makes this such a friendly course to all backgrounds. All-exam grade, but they're not too difficult with modest studying/viewing lectures in a timely manner. Never spoke to him (should've), got an A.

I absolutely LOVE Professor Lin. Gives practical examples + makes econ understandable to ppl w/ no background or prior knowledge. Lots of opportunities for help: him/his office hours, SI, and a TA. Tests are online and open note + he has practice quizzes for each unit. Attendance isn't mandatory; upload his lectures. Extra credit opportunities

Please take this class with Professor Lin. He is my favorite professor. His lectures are interesting and he is so funny, so even though attendance isn't mandatory you'll still get so much out of actually coming to class. There are only 3 tests, no homework, quizzes, or participation grades. But, if you ask questions he will give you extra credit.

3 exams, your grade is only based on those. Extra credit opportunities but the max you can get is 5 extra points per exam. Great lectures, really engaging, but attendance isn't required. Records all the lectures so you can watch outside of class. If you don't like econ or don't have prior experience this class will be boring and challenging.

This Prof. is inspirational with how nice his class is and how it is structured. I struggle in Econ. A class that has open-note tests, has no homework, and gives extra credit is GAME-CHANGING. Office hours and meeting with the T.A are helpful options for if you're struggling. Just study for the tests in advance, and you'll be grand.

class is ok however, his complete inability to accurately reflect the views of people he disagrees with is aggravating and unending. He even contracts established economic ideas eg the role of unions and their actions. That my other econ prof contradicts with real econ theory opposed to Lin's unsubstantiated opinions that isn't backed by anything.

Prof Lin made class accessible. up to 10% extra credit on exam if you go to office hours. Recorded Lectures, practice quizzes per lecture, and practice exam. You realistically can't get away with not watching the lectures but you don't have to go to class. The class takes work but Lin makes it easy to get a good grade if you do the extra credit.

Professor Lin was a great professor and his lectures were comprehensive and easy to follow. He gave lots of examples and practice tests. However, your entire grade is based off of three tests. They're curved and you can get extra credit, but I still found them difficult as they somewhat differ from what you learn in class.

Daniel Lin is so good at teaching Econ, that even a rock can learn supply and demand if they attend his lectures. Speaking of supply and demand, it is frustrating and fascinating to know that he isn't paid $300,000 a year. There is a low supply of Daniel Lin. A high demand for Daneiel Lin. Most of the econ faculty suck. Just keep Daniel Lin.
