He's really good, the best. I've learned so much from that teacher can't wait to take another class with him.His method is really straightfoward so it's really easy for all students as long as you follow what is being asked.

Dr. Lowy is a great teacher. He does alot of drawings on the board and uses a lot of expamples and explinations from the book. He gives you a study guide before each test and also allows to re take a test if you did poorly on it. Labs are easy too, as long as you turn them in you'll mostly likely get an A in Lab. Took him for 111/112 got an A/B

Dr. Lowy was a great teacher. Old school lecture technique; wrote notes on a chalk board after explaining the concept, which helped alot. Concerned about his students and if you show that you're working hard he rewards the effort. Lab reports every week are long and arduous, but do-able. Try hard, show effort, study and you'll do fine.

He's the nicest professor I've ever met. You're not satisfied with your test grades, he'd let you retake them (except the final.) If you work hard and show efforts, he'd find a way to help you improve your grades. Highly recommended.

I would strongly recommend Pr. Lowy! During organic chemistry1 class, he always took the time to explain, gave us study guides and send us homework(not mandatory) to prepare us for the exam. Getting an A in this class will be a little bit difficult, but definitely possible by reading the book, going over exercises and homework.

Lectures are straight forward with good examples. Book is very good, and practice problems are strongly encouraged. Grades are based only on exams, practice problems are similar concepts/style to exam. Lab has pre-lab quizes so if you study what you're going to do, you'll do well on quiz, and know what you're doing for lab.

O-chem is a difficult class but Dr. Lowy was very helpful. He had slides as a guide, but most of his lecture was working through examples which was very helpful. I wish he was teaching O-Chem 2.

The people who had trouble in the class were primarily people who weren't reading the book, which is something you just can't do in Organic Chemistry. Honestly one of my favorite professors, this is not an easy class but if you read the book, study, and do the back of the book problems you should get an A. He is such a nice guy and pushes you to do your best. Tests are hard but easy grader. Trust me when i say buy the solution manual to the book absolutely essential to understanding the material.

Lowy's alright. Hands-off at lab (grades quizzes while you work), but will help if you ask. Quizzes are short answers/mult. choice (from lab docs). Final's from quizzes/lab docs. Reports are tedious (3 pages rewrite of the lab doc). Due dates are irrelevant. Takes points off for specifics, but hard to get below a 90 if you try. Class ends early! :)

Dr. Lowy is passionate about Orgo and he truly wants to see his students succeed in his course. Exams are pretty straightforward if you read chapters + do online practice questions.

A chemistry master, Professor Lowy cares about the success of every student. To learn the material, you must practice the problems after his lecture and use the answer guide book. The lecture and especially the lab portion trained me to communicate and respect my peers through teamwork, the exact skills I will use as a physician assistant.

Most boring mumbling lectures ever, that makes truancy enticing, trust me you will fail. He will go a 100 to make sure serious students do well. Will let you retake exams you fail in upon timely request with similar questions. His class is laid back but don't be fooled you will fail. Take him and teach yourself you will pass. Each lab has pre-lab quiz to ensure the everybody is familiar with the material. Dr. Lowy explains the theory before the lab very well and answers any practical questions as well. The post-lab group papers are formal and expected to meet certain standard. Overall the class is great. You can learn a lot if you are ready to put the work in.

I took OCHEM with Dr. Lowy during a summer session all day on Saturdays. His lectures were a compilation of old textbook versions, but he talked through all the examples and related it to "real world" material. The only grades for the lecture was the tests, but he was a fair grader and had one EC problem. He is super responsive to email questions.
