he's SO SO SO funny! he keeps you awake and makes you WANT to pay attention.. the material was cool but his humor is what makes you want you keep coming to class.. weekly writing assignments on sfgate (only 1 paragraph so dont get scared) one midterm and one final (online). 1 big paper! HE'S AWESOME

He is a great teacher & I know this is a shocking concept, but if you go to school to actually LEARN and not just look for the easiest teachers take him. He relates real life scenarios to the concepts taught in class and has a funny sense of humor. His mantra is go to class, learn, and listen. He isn't there to babysit.

Some people do not like him simply because he does not offer a detailed with dates and deadlines. The real world doesn't work that way and thats the approach he takes with his teaching. More realistic, real life examples that are resonating and effective. I like him because he actually knows what the french he is talking about.

I loved his lectures! I never wanted to miss any of his classes. He's a great professor and he is not a baby sitter, so if you want to get the info. about when assigments are due, GO TO CLASS!! that's why you are paying so much! Class is very easy and is not that hard to get an A, just do your work and you'll be fine

This class was a waste of time. Grading is unfair. His syllabus states that in class participation is 10 pts out of the 100 possible points yet it makes a huge impact on your grade if he doesn't know your name by the end of the quarter. 2 exams, 10 Qs, 10 mins. Study guide has 130 Qs.25 page term paper.

If you want to learn about HR, take him, If you want to get an easy A, look elsewhere. Getting an A in his class isn't hard but you will work hard for it. He does tend to grade subjectively, so try to attend class, participate, and make sure he knows your name. Awesome professor, I will be taking all my HR classes with him! Highly Recommended!

I LOVED being in Dr. Martin's class!!!! He is one of the most inspirational teachers I have ever had!!! Attendance is not mandatory BUT he does pay attention to who comes to class. If he knows your name then you'll get a B. If he knows your name, you come to class regularly and participate, then you get an A.

this teacher you have to take, i dont care if ur not a HR major, take his teacher cuz what he teaches you can impact your life. i took more than two classes with him and i lead more and more he will teach you alot of good life lessons. on the random side note hope you like raisins.. u will like that class day

He is an amazing and lively instructor whom I've ever met. His class is very interesting, and he shares a lot of his experience. He loves to listen to your thoughts and experience too. This class has a weekly journal write-up, a midterm and final (each has 10 questions in 10 minutes). Attendance also counts as participation.

The best professor I've ever had for lectures. I usually fall asleep during other classes or skip them altogether because they're so boring, but I showed up and stayed awake for every single one of Professor Martin's classes. Show up to class, participate, and do all 3 homework assignments you will get an A. He is a funny guy always had the class laughing. The three homework assignments are time consuming so don't wait till the last minute, for the HW just follow the instructions step by step and you will be fine. No exams for his HR class. Really CHILL class.

Active listening is important for this class. Also this subject is not to be taken lightly. It helps to analyze the leadership abilities within you. This class can be fun if you take interest.

Dr. Dan Martin is one of the best instructors I have ever had! He is so knowledgeable and hilarious. His lectures are great. I have learned so much from this class on leadership and having compassion toward others and myself. You must take his class!

DR. Martin is absolutely brilliant. He cares about his students and wants you to really learn. He is easy going and very funny. Most importantly, he makes you feel comfortable when you are talking to him. He doesn't judge you. His a awesome guy. His class consist of weekly journal entry and midterm and final.

I actually never fell asleep but stayed awake the entire class for every single class. His lectures are constructed inspirationally (& incorporates jokes) so I felt that I was getting so much that I would have. You can tell he really cares for his students. 1 big Group Discussion Proj, 2 Exams, Active Participation A.

Lectures would usually start on topic, but by the end the class would be discussing something else. Weekly work with another person who is not in your section number. You video chat with them for approx. 1 hour. 16 page paper based on the experiene of working with your partner. NOT DIFFICULT AT ALL. Would take again.

Dr. Martin is a very nice and funny professor. The class was really fun and informative. We had 2 exams where he gave you study guides before the exams. Then we had one Dyat Project where you worked with a partner. You had to write reflection papers regarding the dyat. Overall, I had a great time in his class!

Great Professor!!! He really knows his stuff, he's very passionate about wanting his students to succeed not only in his class but after we graduate. He talks about his hair a lot. He has some funny stories. He's not big on test's but he really wants the students in engage in conversation in class, as well as completing all the dyad sessions.

Great class and professor. 8 sessions of dyads done with a partner once a week. Each sessions needs to be 2 pages double space. Did not have a midterm, final was only 10 questions. Will provide study guide and should take advantage of it. Questions comes from it. Each class is very entertaining and laughs a lot in class. Enjoyed his sense of humor.

Love this guy! Sure, Dr. Dan can be full of himself, but in reality he is humble and very funny. This should be a required class for future managers/leaders. If the student really engages in his compassion program, they will learn about themselves and how to handle people in the workplace. What's the deal with his hair? Participation Matters!

Dr. Martin is one of the best professors I have encountered in more than 100 credit hours of schooling. He is honest, direct and straightforward in his expectations and grading. If you go to class, read the book, PARTICIPATE in class and do the assignments you will get an A.

Dan is great person and has a dry sense of humor which may offend some, but I personally loved. I took him during the COVID-19, so didn't get to experience much. You'll partner w/ someone using his website &video chat and write a 1 page reflection. Group project where u facilitate an activity for the class. Ours was cancelled due to online switch.

Easy class if you pay attention and participate. The people that get bad grades in his class will not do well once they graduate from the univeristy. Most companies are looking for soft skills and this is what the class teaches. If you are shy or timid you probably won't succeed in this class, but then again you probably wont succeed in life.

I can't really say much. You get a partner that you speak to once or twice a week about a subject on the phone and write a page about it. THATS IT. He gives you a chance to do other things to get ready for the real world. Just take him.

Dr. Martin's class is awesome. Approximately 2 homework sessions per week with a partner and that's it! Easy A! No quizzes, midterms or final. He schedules about 3 Zoom sessions for the whole semester and you're basically working with your partner the whole time. I totally recommend this class if you hate exams and you'd rather learn by discussion!

Took his online class. No Tests. Just meet with a partner from his class to work on 2 page journals each week. Pay attention when he does have class since he does not repeat things. Pretty straight-forward/ easy class.

You are expected to have discussion meetings with your partner and turn in two journals every week. If you wish to ask for help/clarification, the best way is immediately after lectures because it takes him a while to respond to emails and that can stressful sometimes. Bonus points if you participate.

Prof Martin is great for MGMT 402. We had two partners throughout the semester and we used an online program that gave us readings and prompts for the week. Professor Martin is one of the best professors i've had. I actually look forward to his lectures. The homework is easy, it consists of a one page weekly journal. He cared more about the students learning rather than taking a million of tests. He also gives out the study guide for tests. He also puts in the effort of getting to know his students.

This professor is funny and the class is enjoyable. Very easy structure. This is one of the few easy classes where you actually learn. He enjoys comedy and integrates it into his lectures making it easy to build interest and maintain focus. Goes over and above in terms of providing career developing skills.

I had him for both MGMT 300 & 310. His classes do cross over some times but overall a easy professor to have. Over the week he does slides presentations which I recommend taking notes in because you can look back at them when you have to do a weekly journal due every Sunday night. One of a lifetime professors who teaches and cares for students. Easy 'A' grade if you do all the work. The work entails weekly journals (14 total), Midterm, and Final. Exams are multiple choice. Study guides for exams are provided, they're easy (fill in the blank Qs). Textbook (free) not required but it helps with journals and study guide answers.

Took his online class this semester, not too bad. He does like to ramble a lot so be prepared to be bored most of the time. You have to submit a weekly journal, 1 page super easy. Professor Dan made this class so fun and interesting. His sense of humor makes the material easy to digest, and makes you think more deeply about ethics. Class consisted of weekly journal entries and an extra credit opportunity with a partner that was actually really fun to complete. Definitely recommend taking this professor!

Very self centered professor, only uses resources that benefit his business. He will also tell you about why he teaches which he makes clear is not for the money. Overall bearable and makes for a swift semester as his jokes keep the class lighthearted. But he wont be teaching you anything new. Weekly jounals are one page single spaced...so easy

I took him in the fall semester and now believe that Mr. Martin is a funny and smart instructor. He wants you to know what is covered in the lectures while you read the materials beforehand. If you want to be successful in his behavior class, then go ahead and take Martin because he always makes business classes an easy A.

Dan Martin is one of my favorite professors. He's funny and his journal assignments are super easy. I've taken him for every class that he teaches.

This class is an easy A so long as you turn in your weekly journal on time. The midterm and final were pretty easy, just do the study guide. His communications skills need working on and he will grade the assignments late but like I said, as long as you follow the outline from the sample journal and turn them in on time its an easy A.

I took his 314 class but there was no option for that. Like the other reviews have said, his class is easy as long as you turn in the weekly journals on time. Midterm and final were super easy, long study guide for both but if you complete it then it is a guaranteed A. He doesn't communicate clearly and grades late which is the downside. Easy A.

Professor Dan is really nice and funny. His lectures are informative and enjoyable. No midterm or final. Only one-page journal every week. The journals are very easy; you just write about one thing you learn in class this week. The only problem is that he is a slow grader, and he is kinda strict when it comes to following the journal rubric.

The class I took was MGMT314. Assignments are just weekly journals which aren't difficult. Be sure to ask the professor for clarity if you have any questions on how to complete it, but after you do a few you will understand how to complete it. The professor is easy to get a hold of and very helpful. Would definitely take him again
