Overall, Professor McConnell is a very good when it comes to teaching this class. He was very helpful after class and during his office hours. The test weren't hard at all. Only 3 multiple choice exams (40 questions). I suggest that you focus on the notes and quizzes online because that's where the exam questions are mainly coming from.

I took prof. McConnell for Cognitive Psychology this summer, I would recommend him to anyone. He is extremeley consistent in his way of teaching and gives tests that are not at all stressful. He's a good guy and really knows what he's talking about. If you're on the fence about taking him, I'm here to tell you to go for it, you won't regret it.

I hated this class, although it is extremely easy. I never went to class after the first day because everything is online. McConnell really breaks down sensation and perception and explains it so everyone understands. Every Sunday night we have to type up an explanation of our notes for that week, which really helps your grade. 4 tests total, and at the end one short research proposal on any new idea in the field. Not a joke but not hard, very worth it.

This was the hardest psychology class I've ever taken thus far. One discussion a week, two-part exams once a month, and an essay. It may be due to the subject or the professor's instructions. Still, it was a struggle the entire time until the material moved away from philosophy topics and got into psychology. I wish there were more resources.

Would take again

The content of this class is difficult. He may explain things confusingly, but I would still recommend him bc he is very caring and is only out to make your grade better. Thats why theres only discussions, tests, and a paper, he wants the discussions to be a big booster for ppl. He's nice and flexible, even allows cheat sheets for the tests.
