he is the best teacher i ever seen before, if you realy want to learn something, take his class, but!!! his class have a lot of writing and reading, i think it is usefull..... haha ..just try it first ... you will like his style

Meier is demanding. 2 classes,8 books,and writing every week! But if you pass his class, you will pass any class when you transfer. Don't take his sarcasm and in-your-face teaching style personally. He just likes to argue.

Well, i have to admit i learned a lot of grammar skill in his class, but it's a hard class. If you asian, i recommend not take him, most of people fail in his class. Moreover, if you want A, don't take his class.... ^^

You will get good grades on your essays if you follow his instructions. This is not a tough class if you try. Mr. Meier is extremely helpful and he is nice to students who work hard. If you pass his ESL 33B even with a grade of C, you are guaranteed to get an easy A in English 1A.

Ok Meier, this chili pepper is for you. His class requirement are clear and he gives many handouts to teach you how to write. He is sarcastic and you better be prepared, so watch out.

I am prepared to get a good grade in 1A. Mr. Meier pushes you to do the best. Writing homeworks everyday, but gives you the practice to write better.

Meier is a challenge, assigning about 10+ page essays every 2 weeks. He definitely is the kind of teacher who you will be screaming at yourself about WHY you took the class. However he is a super special awesome professor, definitely pushing my mind to think outside conventional thinking. Meier is always right!!

I take Meier's 1A class next semester, and I think I made big mistake. Already the first week of his class, we will have a 5 page paper to finish. Each semester, he gets harder.

My favorite teacher in PCC! u can talk to him in chinese all day long and he will respond with chinese too! he garenteed an "A" in the class if u can eat a whole bag of "meier spice". his essay style is kinda like SAT, short and simple. i got a B+ in the class but i took it as CR/NC.

I would like to thank again Mr. Meier! I had him for ESL 33A in Spring 07! He helped me a lot how to write a better focused essays not only take-home but also in-class. I have never seen such a teacher who is dedicated to teaching English as Mr. Meier. After his class, I gained so much confidence about English and ready for the higher education!!!

I took his 33B class and got an A. Maybe you weren't that good of a student and he passed you out of pity or because you took his same calss 3 times. Also, nice job that you are always looking for the easy class to take. Just don't become a doctor or anything important.

He's hard but can be nice if he thinks you are good student. Just finish all homework and follow his way!

believe me, i took him in winter.....i learned many useful things. after i took meier class, i realized that other teachers just like s...

he is very sarcastic and funny! my type of teacher but his hwk is a killerrr. he somehow thinks his class is the only one your taking. his hwk takes up 90% of my time. btw he assigns papers that are 15+ pages every 2 weeks on a new book and 5 page in between. you CANT LAG IT in his class. just a warning but his class is fun tho, he makes time fly.

Alright simply put, he is going to make you work your butt off by assigning 20+ paper pages every two weeks, makes you read books that are controversial, he will challenge any belief you may hold, but in all honesty you will learn in his class. Unlike other classes where you leave with that empty feeling, his class will make you feel fulfilled...

Meier teaches writing better than any teacher I have had. He is very hard and will get upset with you if he feels you are not a serious student. He is only for students who are going to the university.

Prof.Meier. Just a thing to say "If you want to learn English and grammar well, he is the teacher to go to." MY English was terrible at the beginning of his class. I don't even know what is verb,adj,etc. But his' clauses teaching is good. He may became a bit angry with you sometimes.But he care about your future. Workload is heavy but pass is easy

To below student: You better change your grade to pass or no pass. Mr. Meier mentions to all his advanced students to take pass or no pass class, so whatever grades equal to C will still pass :)

Professor Meier is a GREAT professor. By saying great, i really mean it! You can really learn the sentence structures and patterns in his class. Although he always say that he is selfish, he is more than welcome for you to go and discuss with him your essays. Just follow all his requirements then you can get good grades! Good Luck (:

One of the best ESL professor I have met in PCC. He really knows and like teaching. He teaches in the most easiest way.He cares about every body in the class. Don't be scared by his homework! Do your best you will be fine.

Meier will challenge every belief you hold and make you defend your points. If you come out of his class and haven't either changed or strengthened your positions, you weren't paying attention. Group discussions are highly encouraged, and debates can last the entire class period at times.

Meier teaches grammar and college writing but he is stricter and demanding. Don't be on his bad side not to study. Be prepared to stay up all night. You will learn, and he has humor and is very funny.

Great professor. Tons of homework is true. He always says he is selfish but not at all. Hard grader but pass is easy. As long as show him your skills, you don't even have to show up every day and turn in the hw every time. He knows who can pass or not already. Just study hard and work harder, you'll pass absolutely! He told us the first day to expect to read and write more than we did in 4 years of high school because all of us lacked the writing skills. At first, we were mad, but later realized he was right. I have learned more from Meier than any teacher I have ever taken.

Although this class was hard, but I did learned a lot. He might sounds harsh and mean at the beginning, but he is really helpful and care about students. Be ready for lots of homework and lots of reading. Do not worry if you are failing at the beginning, he will pass you if you show your effort by the end of the semester.

If you're willing to work hard and read your eyes out you're ready for Meier's class, and you'll definitely pass if you do the work. Mr. Meier teaches with such knowledge, passion, and skill that it is impossible not to learn and be inspired. The type of talent that he has in his profession is not something that can be learned, but a calling that one is born with. His dedication to the course and his students is unmatched. PCC is simply fortunate to have such a treasure. GREAT!!

If you are a student at PCC, DO NOT miss out on taking Mr. Meier's classes. His style is like no one else. He teaches with such creativity and innovative methods that you will learn without even realizing it. He is extremely knowledgeable about the material he teaches and very approachable. He is an atheist, which was cool to see another view of the world. He will make you a critical thinker, very good teacher. However, this class is extremely hard, you will be reading books and have too write nine page minimum essays, but dont worry all the writing is worth it. You learn how to become a better writer and will help you learn faster.

He is a very interesting and professor. You can learn a lot of grammar and sentence structure from his lecture. In order to successfully pass this course with him, students have to work really hard. However, he is preparing us the real English skills for English 1 A. Overall, I suggest students who really want to learn to take his class.

Professor Meier is the definition of a college professor. He'll give you 5 books to read along with questions ranging from 5-6 pages long - and he expects your responses to be longer. In addition, you'll have to write an essay on each book. His class IS NOT EASY, but it's completely worth the stress. Improve your writing and take him!

I took his class during summer and I had a love-hate feeling about the subject. The topics he used to teach in class was mostly based on his beliefs (I think he's an atheist.) And since I was a Christian, it was hard for me to defend every claim in my essays. I still learned a lot from him though and managed to get a B at the end of the term.

I just heard Meier is ready to retire. Too Bad. I took him for 1A and 1C, and he was one of the most controversial teachers here and gave students topics they will never get again. He will be missed.

Unfortunately he is retired now! I took his class in Spring semester 2014. If you want to learn the correct English his class is a must! You must work for your grade. He explains everything even if you ask the same question 1000 times, but after that he expects you to understand it. Open discussion class. I enjoyed every single second in his class.

I have the same felling as other students that he's hot, honest and smart. He has a good perspective because he does not just do the teaching things. He also provides some critical idea that people can think about it. God, I wish I could take his class again no matter the grade.

I had Mr. Meier as a sub, and his teaching style is crystal clear. I learned more from him in this one class than I learned from any teacher in the time I've been at PCC.

Professor Meier is amazing, but tough. Definitely has to be one of the hardest English classes I've taken and it's because he truly tries to prepare his students for University level writing. The topics discussed in class were topics I've never discussed in any classroom, which was great. This B was the hardest B I've worked for. Be prepared!!!

You can learn a lot from him, but his class is not fit for everyone, if u need an ez A and less hw, u shouldnt choose him. If u wanna get an A, be prepared to spend a lot of time on it and fellow his rules.

Took Meier winter session, the shortest session. However, this man knows how to challenge your way of thinking. One of the best professors I have encountered, regardless of the mean grader he might say he is haha!

You will be doing a lot of writing in this class so if you are looking for an easy A, look somewhere else.
