Made biology one of my favorite courses. Funniest teacher i've ever had. Very intelegent

Mr. Norris is one of the funniest teachers I've ever had. He's got a ton of interest in the subject and the labs were awesome. If you just have to take Biology for pre-reqs for another school, take his class. he doesn't care about attendance and has HUGE curves on his tests... the tests are hard, but if you study you'll do fine!

The best teacher that I have EVER had. He is absolutely hilarious, his tests are super super easy, and his classes are always fun. Definintely take his class, I highly recommend it. I have learned so much, yet I haven't felt the stress of most difficult classes. Labs are just as great as class. Professor Norris is amazing!

Mr. Norris is one of the coolest teachers I have ever had. If you have to take Biology, I would request him if I were you.

This guy clearly loves what he is teaching. He has the curiosity of a child, puts anything (dirt, worms, random fungi) into his mouth and had plenty of stories to relate because of it. I have never enjoyed Biology, this class made it incredibly interesting and funny. Not only that, it's easy. Like, REALLY easy.

This professor is totally dedicated to his field of study..you can tell he loves his job and truely cares about his students thoughts/concerns. Very easy to work with, always willing to lend an extra hand even if its not your class time. Just signed up for BIO 112 with him..can't wait!

Norris is the man.. Nothing more to it. Best teacher i have ever had. And if you miss going on field trips back in elementary school then you will be happy to know that you get to go on them in this class

Norris may be "cool" and fun and sweet, but to be honest, as a teacher I found him way to easy going. Toward the middle of the semester people started talking in class while he was teaching! It was totally aggravating! There's a group project and an individual powerpoint presentation. He does grade on a curve. The tests are extremely hard.

He is so much fun in class. I want to take him again next semester.

Well I've only had him for "college transfer success" but he was really cool, funny, and is willing to work with you to make sure you understand stuff. Very open minded. I got an A

Great teacher, so funny. He relates science to real life things and makes it easy to understand. He takes you on a couple feild trips and loves fruit! We're making fruit smoothies in lab next week.

Very Very easy! Gives reviews for exams that are almost the same answers on the test. If you just want an easy grade he is perfect if you want to comprehend the material you have to read the book. He should be a Marine Biology professor.

Great guy but students tend to walk on him like a doormat and it pissed me off most of the semester. He tries too hard to make ppl like him. Dont take him unless you plan on teaching yourself. His lectures are impossible to follow- he flys through and it is SO boring. Attendance is not required which can hurt if you dont practice some self control.

If I was going to take another Bio class, no doubt it would be with him!

He is a great teacher, helpful, forward and up front and always willing to go the extra mile for any and all of his students! Take him for any class you can!!! He is fun and refreshing!!!

Very personable and funny. Enjoys teaching, and knows what he is talking about. Lab is worth going to, lecture is from PP sorta boring. 5/5 though.

One of the best teachers I've had. He is extremely nice and makes it so that it's almost impossible to fail his class. People ended up taking advantage of him mid-semester because of this though. Walking out of his class after attendance was taken and cheating on the tests.

He is a easy going person. he is a fun and hilarious teacher. Everything comes from the book. He has test review the day before and goes over the test in order. if your going to miss his class alwasy go to review days. His lab stuff is open note. By far the best science teacher!!

great guy, makes lecture interesting. 100% willing to help outside of class. people who fail his class either don't try, or don't ask for his help. he cares about his students and is not out to trick you, just to teach you the material.

Lecture can be boring but gives you a study guide before every test with an additional curve. Pretty funny guy and makes lab really interesting by going on field-trips!! I would sign up for him again because biology can't be better with anyone else.

Mr. Norris is an amazing teacher. He has made biology much more enjoyable than I thought it would be. He goes by the book. He gives a review the class prior to the tests, and in the review he gives us an idea of what each question will be about. Labs are great, as are the field trips. It doesn't hurt that he's very handsome.. =)

Mr. Norris is awesome. His class is fun, and always interesting. He's a funny guy, and is just a great teacher in general. I've learned a lot in his class, and the field trips are great! He uses the book, the tests aren't too hard as long as you pay attention and study,& he gives a grading curve too. Mr. Norris is by far, my favorite teacher, ever.

I am absolutely in love with this guy he was an amazing teacher biology is not a subject i tend to enjoy and he made it completly enjoyable even though tests were slightly difficult in my opinion there are always curves and lab is a breeze! Must take his class if looking for a good bio teacher

First review I’ve ever done but Mr.Norris is by far the best teacher I’ve had. I could listen to him talk all day. He is so funny and makes the class very entertaining. Definitely recommend him!

Labs are easy. 3 field trips/ 3 powerpoints due. Lectures are terrible. Straight from powerpoints with lots of unrelated life stories thrown in for laughs. 5 Tests (1 being optional). Tests are very hard and the review is a joke. But Mr. Norris is willing to work with you if your grade is borderline.

Best science teacher ever! Mr. Norris is a really funny guy and his class is pretty easy. The tests are kind of tricky but he gives you "hints" to each and every question in the review before the test. He also gives large grading curves. 3 powerpoint presentations are also due but they are really easy. Hard not to get an A if you pay attention.

Daniel is the man! Best science class ever, so sad that it's almost over! Very funny, helpful & cares about his students(did I also mention smoking hot)! Read the text, go to class, ask questions( which he never gets tired). 3 presentations, 3 field trips in labs & smoothies at the end! you have 5 tests, lowest test grade gets dropped!

Mr. Norris is crazy and hilarious. He has the best stories to tell every class. Lab is super easy and fun, we go on a couple field trips too. He is not strict at all For lecture you might as well just read the chapters because the test is straight from the the book. As long as you sign in for attendance you can leave. READ THE BOOK

Ah, well to sum it up... it is a love hate relationship. The guy is a great, the tests.... ARE RIDICULOUSLY HARD. Read the chapters, live by his study guides (after you decode them). Once you get into his style & start making good grades you will love it. Attendance? what?

Mr. Norris really takes the time to get to know you on a person level and you can tell he really cares for his students. His bio class isn't too difficult, he really keeps your attention with his bizarre examples. You have 4 tests and a final but is optional, a lab practical and 3 projects. He is a great teacher and I would take him again.

Mr. Norris is an excellent biology instructor! If you want an easy a read your text( that's where he gets his test & quiz questions from)!Field trips,presentations, smoothies & lots of extra credit opportunities. Not to mention he's very hilarious & a great person 2 hang out with!

I adore Mr. Norris. He does have quizzes but he uses them to give extra credit if you need it. I looked forward to this class, especially lab because he made it interesting. I'm especially stocked to read his recently published book!

This professor has a true passion for Biology. He makes lectures fun. Lab is very interesting and you will go on field trips! Sit in front, pay attention, speak up in class, do projects in lab, hint he really likes it if you make movies. He is an Apple Computer guru.

This guy wakes up happy every day of his life and puts everyone in a good mood. He's hilarious and genuinely cares about science and his students. I wish I had more professors like him. His tests are all multiple choice but not exactly easy. As long as you read your book and don't miss class, you'll get a good grade.

Mr. Norris is an amazing teacher. He loves what he does and loves his biology. He will work with you as much as possible and never gets frustrated. He cares for his students and will work with you one on one as well. He is always so happy and has a great sense of humor! Mr. Norris has a big heart and takes you under his wing.

Mr. Norris is my favorite teacher from this semester! He's really funny and is easy to converse with about anything personal or off topic. His tests are a little difficult, but he reviews them the class before and will give a curve if the class average wasn't high. Lab was very easy as well. Definitely take him for Bio if you can!

He is the best bio teacher to take if you're not good at biology. He's not the best at teaching nor is his study guides the best, but he curves tests and gives extra credit. My best advice is to participate in the lab which is very EASY and be interested. Just showing him you care and want to be there and are actually trying will help you pass.

This teacher will add lightness to your semester. He is a truly happy and likeable person and very relatable. Be interested and he will take you under his wing. I nearly failed biology in high school, earned an A in his class. The tests are hard, but he gives reviews. You will need to study for his tests but they are curved.

Truly knows his stuff and shines with hands on activ. & discussions. test study guides seem obscure but it can all be found in his powerpoints. Lecture tests can be difficult but gives A's on Lab assignments as long as you show reasonable effort. Wish he taught bio 112. Always happy and enthusiastic to answer questions.

He is an amazing teacher, really cares about his studies he is willing to get to know you as a person. It's a super easy class IF YOU TRY. This is my 2nd time taking bio and I wish I took it with him the first time. GREAT TEACHER

Funny and makes everything fun a class you can actually stay awake during and enjoy and is very laid back with attendance even if you only show up for 20 minutes he still counts you as there .

Awesome professor. Makes biology fun and easier to understand, study guides for tests are a little unclear at times, but as long as you prepare you will be just fine. Very understanding guy, jumps in to help in any way he can if you are struggling. Use the book, the library has a copy to look at, and use your powerpoints.

If you don't have a science brain but need to take bio110, take Mr. Norris. The class is not easy, you will have to dedicate time to study, but he cares about his students. He offers multiple extra credit assignments, and curves most tests. ALWAYS attend the review days, and study from the slides he posts.

Mr Norris was the best!!!! Take him. So insanely funny and nice. No homework. Only 5 test grades for lecture and he drops the lowest. I would not have done well in bio if i didn't have him as a teacher. I'm going to miss him as a teacher.

Norris is the best hands down. I recommend anyone taking bio 110, who never has taken a science take it with Norris. Easy grader, but the study guide he does in class can be a little misleading. Make sure you are there the day before a test.

He is very interesting professor and it is very obvious he loves what he does. He does not give out homework, so you have to read the textbook, show up for lecture, take notes, and prepare for the reviews. He is pretty easy-going and will pop a quiz on you randomly, so be prepared! If you need to get ahold of him outside of class: email him.

Professor Norris is truly an angel among men. He is very wise and he has truly amazing stories and life lessons. Make sure to attend the classes before the tests- he goes through an outline of what will be on them/what to study. Although tests make up a decent portion of the grade he is generous with extra credit. An excellent man.

There aren't enough words to describe how wonderful Mr. Norris is as a teacher. If you truly want to pass, you will. It's not an easy A but if you show you care and put in effort, you will get one! He never makes you feel stupid for not understanding content. He's fun and lively, you won't be bored. He is by far, the best BIO teacher at Cape Fear.

The labs are pretty fluent and okay, however, he goes through lectures REALLY FAST therefore, read the chapter on your own before getting there. Tests are a bit confusing but they're okay, gives a lot of extra points on tests and an extra credit test at the end, one of the most understanding teacher at cfcc.

Mr. Norris is a great teacher, but not for everyone. He's very social and his lectures may get off track. However, I think he does a great job of going through the information necessary to pass. He also gives hints for every question on each test. Some reviewers say his hints are too broad. HE'S GIVING HINTS, MOST PROFESSORS DO NOTHING.

Mr. Norris has one of the craziest and most off the walls personalities of any professor ive had here so far, which makes the lectures more interesting and engaging even if they are getting a bit off topic. The labs were all online for me which sucked, but he does offer a dropped grade and he was pretty lenient grading labs. Tests arent bad either

He is a very knowledgeable instructor and pretty much the only assignments you have are labs. Attendance is not mandatory. He also is very forgiving when it comes to grades, although don't push it too much. The only negative thing I have to say about him is that he gets off topic very easily.

Interesting professor... Funny and caring, but gets off track trying to make his class fun instead of educational. Lots of rambling. Tests are difficult, you will struggle for the first test or two, but it gets easier. Tests have a big curve to help. ASK HIM FOR HELP, he will give you PLENTY of hints for your tests. Projects are fun and easy.

Mr.Norris is in my opinion one of the best professors at CFCC. Absolutely wonderful person to speak with and learn from. Tests account for 75% of your grade, but if you do the work,readings, and watch his lectures online you will do great.

um..I'm so surprised. the haters are gonna hate, I guess!! I had him this semester in a hybrid course, all the lectures are online...not that hard if you set aside time to watch them and just ask him questions. :-) he's super nice and understanding, just try and he'll help you out.

Out of every professor I have had at CFCC, Norris was by far my favorite. Very good guy that is passionate about his job, his cats, and biology as a whole. The class consists of 3 graded presentations, and 4 exams worth 75% of your grade. The presentations are actually enjoyable, and if you put in the work, you WILL receive a good grade on them.

Dr. Norris is very animated, his teaching style is captivating,you won't get board, he is passionate about what he knows as well as teaching. We had two high functioning autistic students and he handled them with absolute kindness and respect. I wish that all teachers were this enjoyable.

THE BEST PROFESSOR! I took this course online, and it honestly was such a breeze. You are assigned a lab once a week and an Exam every few weeks. The coursework is so light and easy to keep up with. I'm terrible with BIO, and I ended the semester with a 98.

Super funny and great professor overall. His class was hands-on which i also liked a lot because he likes to utalize labs over heavy testing.

He is a very animated professor and he loves everything to do with biology, you couldn't fair his class even if you tried. I am an older student and he kept me engaged and I loved going to his class and his labs were amazing.

Let me just say, Dr. Norris is very knowledgeable and well respected. He is almost always in a good mood, and his 3 main projects are fun and creative. He can get off topic from time to time but he was honestly one of my favorite professors of all time! He cares, he is always down for a good conversation if you don't understand the material.
