He's always in a great mood and actually has a good sense of humor.
Dr. Rogers taught my favorite class this semester. He made it interesting and fun to come to class. The way he outlines his power point facts can be a little confusing, and I always went back to the book for proper definitions after class. Overall... Highly recommended!!
I would reccommend taking Dr. Rogers to ANYONE! He is a great teacher. He is willing to help anyone if needed and his classwork is easy as well. He understands that his class is an intro to psychology and makes it easier. His tests can be overwhelming at first but you get used to it and his quizzes are a piece of cake! Excellent professor!
I would recommend his class to others.
Dr. Rogers makes the class very interesting. Not an easy class, but a very educational one!
Dr. Rogers is an excellent teacher!! He makes the class interesting and fun. I enjoyed taking his class and would take him in the future. He makes the class easy. Had a great semester in his class.
Class was super easy. His quizzes are only five multiple choice and are easy also. The quizzes and tests come straight off the powerpoints he shows in class. You can print them off of webct. He also uses a lot of examples that are easy to remember. There is no attendance policy but its hard to do well if you not there. Definitely recommend him.
First off he is really cute, nice, very down to earth, and helpful when needed. Every assignment and lecture is helpful and can be very useful later on in life. His assignments are interesting and not boring or busy work and his lectures are not bad ether besides ladies you have something good to look at;) if you do the work and not BS you can pass
Has the potential to be a boring class but Dr. Rogers has such a great sense of humor that you actually want to come to class. The course work isn't hard at all. I've had him for Abnormal, Research Methods, and Careers and he's been great in all. Highly recommend!
All I have to say is awesome! I have heard nightmares about Research Methods, but he made it a breeze! There's plenty of opportunities to keep a good grade. I walked out with an A. I just wish he taught Experimental.
Well if you can stop day dreaming about how cute he is he is the best PSYC teacher you will ever have!
Dr. Rogers is so nice, funny, and competent. He makes a class really interesting even when it's not. He is a fair grader and makes sure you know exactly what you have to do for tests and assignments. As he says, there are "no surprises."
If you want to do good in this class take Math 1107 (STATS) before it will make your world so much easer. Dr. Rodgers is good but he grades so hard!! If you dont put every little detail in your short answer he will mark it WRONG!
This class was extremely difficult, however all Research classes follow the same rubric so it's just the class. Dr. Rogers makes him self extremely available to his students, he knows everyone by name. Very approachable and not intimidating at all. I definitely recommend him.
Nice, helpful, good attitude, BEST. Highly recommended.
Had him for many different classes and always enjoyed his classes. Very knowledgeable and takes his job very seriously. Always willing to help anyone who does not understand and has a very agreeable personality. Tests are hard if you do not come to class/pay attention.
BEST. super knowledgeable. very helpful. passionate on the subject. highly recommend for any psyc class!
Best professor at Kennesaw, hands down. Take him!
I took him for four week clinical psych class and I found him to be a very good lecturer. the test multiple choice is straight from lectures and discussions in class. For the writing assignments, it seems like no one in the class could ever please him unless you only wrote EXACTLY to a T what he asked his questions on but def. possible to make-A/B
Very fun and personable teacher. His tests and assignments are very difficult. Class is enjoyable, and most of the tests are straight from the notes.
Took the four week summer course with him and regardless of my working my ass off on papers, was incredibly hard to please him. He always says don't worry about it too much. its not that hard but you absolutely have to. Hard to get an A. a B is definitely doable though, no problem. his multiple choice ?s are easy. Take good notes for short answers
Dr. Rogers is awesome -- the best professor I've ever had. Very informative and clear about what will be on the test. Attendance is not mandatory, but highly suggested, because tests come from PowerPoints and book. Quick and fair with grading. Cute, too. :)
Dr. Rogers is one of the best professors at KSU. I didn't think this Careers class would be very useful beyond meeting the degree requirements, but I was wrong. There is a TON of good material in this class for psych majors, and Dr Rogers is an excellent teacher (he literally wrote the textbook).
Dr. Rogers is one of the best professors at KSU. Very helpful and takes to time to explain topics thoroughly. Attendance optional, but he doesn't post powerpoints so go to class if you want to really learn the material.
Great class. He makes Research Methods understandable. Does everything he can to help you get a good grade in the class and is more than willing to help you.
This class was difficult in nature but Dr. Rogers makes class fun and his tests and project was extremely fair. There were 4 tests, 6 quizzes, and 1 paper/project. Dr. Rogers is an amazing teacher that will always answer questions that you may have. Great teacher and highly recommend to anyone for any course. Textbook is used slightly for quizzes
Dr. Rogers was probably my favorite teacher. I had him last year for Research methods AND careers, and I have never been more impressed with the amount of clarity and helpfulness he expressed to his students. Research methods is a hard class, but he made it VERY tolerable, and I came out with a high B. He is very easy going, and wonderful overall.
Took him for a 4-week Senior Seminar. This was his first time teaching, and it was an enjoyable class. He does give participation points, so go to class. He is fair, easygoing, and I wish I had taken him for more casses. Definitely recommend!
Awesome professor. Extremely helpful. Returns grades quickly. Shows respect for students and students show respect for him. I wish every professor could be like Dr. Rogers.
Such a kind & practical professor. His lectures are fascinating & easy to understand. He drops your lowest test grade - a rare occurrence in a 4000 level class. You always know what's expected of you for every assignment & project with detailed rubrics for everything, but he is always willing to help if there's confusion. Fast grader.
Dr. Rogers is the best professor I have had. He is very respectful, approachable, and helps any way he can. He is truly passionate about his job and truly wants his students to succeedunderstand the material. I would definitely recommend him for this course.
By far the best professor I have had, the class is challenging and you have to work hard. He gives quizzes almost every class so make sure to attend, he gives extra credit and provides feedback. Very helpful and explains everything in great detail. I definitely recommend taking this class for research methods, TAKE TAKE TAKE TAKE. And take notes
I had Dr. Rogers for Careers. He is very clear about his expectations and as long as you try to help yourself first he s willing to help you if you are stuck. He is a fair professor and expects his students to be adults and do their work. I am taking him for Methods next semester and am looking forward to it.
Dr. Rogers was a very helpful and likable professor. He is very clear about grading criteria for assignments and tests are fair; he even drops your two lowest quiz grades. I felt sure this class was going to be a waste of credit hours, but it turned out to be much more informative than I had anticipated. I would like to take another of his classes.
Dr Rogers is probably the most clear instructor at KSU. He migh assign a lot of work in this class but if you pay attention you will do well. Hes helpful, knowledgable, friendly, professional, all around the best professor at KSU. I cant wait to take more classes with him.
Good teacher pretty funny.
Dr. Rogers knows Careers is kinda boring but he tries his best to make it entertaining. He's funny and he lets you know what he wants way ahead of time so there's no reason why you shouldn't get an A. Even in a class of 80+ students, he takes the time to know you and learn your name. Only 3 tests including the final, extra credit&drops lowest 2quiz
I took this class over may-mester and really enjoyed it. He is funny, cares about his students success and really tries to prepare students for their future. Overall I found this class super helpful. Made an A, but put in a decent amount of effort. Do what is expected and you should do fine!
The most helpful college course I have ever taken! He is a great professor. Show up, care, and you'll do great.
I took this as a maymester but it was great. Dr. Rogers is very clear about what he wants from you and even though it was squeezed into two weeks, I learned SO much from him and this class. Great teacher, relate-able, and I would without a doubt recommend him. He co wrote the textbook, he definitely knows his stuff.
Took Dr. Rogers for careers(Maymester) and he was amazing! One of the nicest professors at KSU, he was always willing to help. He brought donuts for the class several days which was awesome. I didn't read the book at all and I made an A. Just come to class, listen to his lectures, do the assignments, do the extra credit, and you'll get an A.
One of the best professors at Kennesaw. If you are wanting to be a psych major, TAKE THIS CLASS. I 100% regret not taking it more seriously, if you put in the effort outside of class you will make an A. You will learn so much from him. He is a tough grader, but you learn from your mistakes. He is willing to do anything to help his students.
He is amazing!! Take him if you get a chance. He really cares about his students and wants you to do well. Go to class and read the textbook and you will get an A!!
Great professor. Quizzes in class after lecture. The material seems easy, but make sure you study for the tests and dont rely on lectures and notes. I would absolutely take him again, He is willing to do anything to help you. If you plan on staying a psychology major, take him!!
Hands down best professor I've had EVER. I make sure to take Rogers every chance I get. Class is awesome and he's hilarious. Read and listen, you'll be ok!
great guy. very personable. lectures are engaging. There's a pop quiz about once a week but attendance is not required. he drops your two lowest quiz grades.3 tests, no final and 4 assignments. He wrote the textbook that you use so he knows it well. take him for careers in psychology! He loves teaching this class and does a awesome job at it!
He is a great professor! He learns everyone's name! Even if there is 90 people, he will still remember. This class helps you learn about the possible careers and as it might seem boring, it is very informative and Dr. Rogers will keep you engaged. He is funny, and always ask him questions. He will make sure you understand a question. TAKE HIM!
One of the best teachers in the Psych department. He really cares about his students. Show up to class and you will pass the course material is super easy. You don't even need to study for the first 2 test just study for the 3rd it was a little tricky. Easy homework and easy projects that will help you in the future for your psych degree.
He really cares about his job and will go the extra mile for a student in need. However I hate psych tbh its useless lol, if you feel the same just ace the projects (they're easy), go to class rarely and don't worry so much about pop quizzes (15% of grade), use best guesses on tests and you'll probably end up with a C.
Most professional, effective prof I've ever had. TAKE HIM. This class got me organized and on track w/ my major. He holds students to a high standard, and you learn. He is engaging, approachable, and gives amazing lectures. Very happy to help students! VERY smart/knowledgeable. 3 exams, 10 quizzes (drops 2), 4 assignments, you do need the book.
Dr. Rogers is an extremely nice person. If you do not like to read or put in effort, DO NOT take him. He wants his students to work for their grade. Exam questions are VERY specific even if you read. Gives exam review sheets but they aren't that helpful unless you read & go to class. 4 homework assignments, 3 exams, and 10 quizzes (he drops 2).
Favorite professor Ive ever had. Super easy to talk to and very easy to reach. Listens to students and adjusts as needed. He says the textbook is required but I never opened it once and finished with a B in the course. Every test question has 2 answers that sound right, so if you dont study youve got a 50/50 shot for each question
Take him for Careers in Psych--you won't find a more knowledgeable person. He knows the degree requirements inside and out, as well as a lot of info about different fields you might like to go into someday. The class feels like a big group advising session and it's a great opportunity to ask any questions you have about being a psych major.
TAKE HIM. Rogers is in my top 3 list for sure. He LOVES what he does & knows so much & still humble. He genuinely cares &wants to help every student succeed. Every assignment was important & I don't think anything we did or covered was ever busy work. Easy to listen to, made going to a Maymester for 5 hours everyday something I looked forward to!
Dr. Rogers is an amazing psychology teacher! i took him as a maymester which i expected to be diffcult but it wasnt at all! this class is an easy A. if you show up and actively listen then you will do well in his class. i never rated a professor but i felt like i needed to for him because he's the best teacher i have had here at Kennesaw. TAKE HIM!
Dr. Rogers is a solid choice for Careers in Psyc. I wouldn't waste my time with any other professor. He wrote the textbook so he knows what he is talking about. He offers extra credit in numerous forms, including correcting mistakes in his textbook. He gives great feedback on all assignments and returns grades in a reasonable amount of time.
Dr. Rogers is an amazing teacher for careers in psychology. He gives you assignments that will help you for your future as a student and to help you figure out if psychology is meant for you. He offers extra credit and grades pretty quickly. His tests are little difficult so you just may need to study extra.
Professor Rogers is a great professor. There were about 6 assignments and we have 3 exams. There are a good bit of quizzes as well, but they aren't difficult. The only difficult thing about the class would be the exams because they ask very specific questions. 10/10 would take him again.
Dr. Rogers really was a blessing in disguise. I would suggest to anyone to take him fo this class because he wrote the textbook and teaches with deep knowledge about the possibilities a bachelor's and beyond may hold. There's 6 assignments, in class quizzes, and extra credit opportunities. This class helped me through my crisis! Take Rogers!
Dr. Rogers is fantastic. I took him for a Maymester course, and he struck the perfect balance between making sure we got all the same course information everybody else did and not trying to cram in more than was possible. I will do everything in my power to take another class of his!
I took him for the senior capstone experience online 4-week summer course, and it was wonderful. I know that the class average was a C, but I made an A+ and don't know how everyone else didn't. As long as you submit the activities and follow the rubrics, you will be just fine. He's very kind and wiling to help. Highly recommend!
TAKE HIM. His lectures are very engaging and easy to follow. He makes learning easy! As long as you show up and put a little effort in, you will make an A. He is very understanding and willing to work with you. He uses the textbook, but you don't need it to do well. Overall great person - highly recommend.
Took him Maymester and wish I would've waited til Fall.. Lots of homework, but the class was literally 10 days. . Assignments were very life applicable. Ex: Updated resume, career timeline, mapped graduation through degreeworks. Only complaint is the tests. Could narrow down answers to two choices but couldn't decide. Great professor, otherwise.
Best prof. Teaches amazing + very organized! Super caring and will learn everyone's name. There are weekly open note quizzes online, and graded activities in class that you can't make up. Tests are easy if you study terms + concepts. Definitely passionate about his subject and I will be taking another one of his classes! Take him!!
Rogers is a great prof! He will do as much as he can to help you as long as you ask. He drops some grades and has an opportunity for extra credit. The class is straight forward and he explains things clearly. Super nice guy so if you get the chance, take him!
I took Dr. Rogers for PSYC2210 over the summer, and he was the best teacher I've ever had. He gives clear organizers that allow you to know exactly what and when something is due, great feedback, and improves you as a student. I landed my first job because of what he taught us early on about interview prep! 10/10 Professor and person.
Professor Rogers was very passionate and knowledgeable. The class is very content heavy, but as long as you study, you will be okay. The quizzes were quite hard, but you have 3 chances to take them.
I took this class online and it was a bit tough, but I still managed to get an A. If you take a class with this professor you need to be prepared to actually read and do your work. If you follow instructions and actually put in the effort then you should be fine.
Dr. Rogers is one of the best psych professors at KSU! There 4 exams, 10 quizzes and a few papers but the grading criteria is very clear and he gives amazing feedback. Participation in class is important and don't even try to get by on the exams without studying, you won't pass! You will do very well in his class if you put forth the effort!
Dr. Rogers is a wonderful professor. He is clear with his expectations and he will answer any questions you have. His quizzes and discussions are super easy to do well on as long as you follow the instructions. We had three tests and three projects that were all relatively easy as long as you study and stay on top of your work.
Dr Rogers is by far one of the best professors at KSU. He has a lot of background in the field and he found great ways to tie in real-world information to the lectures! I took his course for the 2-week maymester and it was great! You can tell he wants you to succeed, and he cares about all of us (he memorized our names in 1 day!). Would take again.
If you're on the fence taking Dr. Rogers. TAKE HIM. I took him for Abnormal Psych and it is by far one of the best psychology electives I've taken. Since it is a 4000 level class, the content is a bit heavy. However, Dr. Rogers explains the material very briefly and is always open to questions if unclear. By far the best professor I've taken!
Dr. Rogers is an amazing professor. The class definitely isn't one where you can just show up and get an A, you do have to work. But he is really clear in what he expects. You also have to read the textbook, but it's really interesting. This class has definitely helped me a lot.
Amazing professor!! My absolute favorite part of his class is how timely he is with grading and how all instructions are extremely clear. He is very organized and detailed with d2l which helps immensely. Hilarious and all around good person, answers all questions happily, easily accessible by email. 10/10 professor
Professor Rogers is definitely the best professor within the psychology department. He is very helpful and knows how to keep students engaged during class. He assigns homework every 2 weeks, quiz and discussion. His class is mostly about memorization. GO TO CLASS AND READ THE BOOK.
Tests are multiple choice and the questions are based off the slides, not extra detail from lecture. There are like 60 questions per exam, and maybe 2 of them are based off information only found in the book, so I did not bother to read it. There a couple in class assignments here and there. Encourages questions and is very nice.
Professor Rogers was great. His class helps you plan out the rest of your schooling until graduation and beyond. 10/10.
He is great! He engages students into his lectures which helps in understanding certain topics. Discussion posts are based off common knowledge and the book. Quizzes are easy. Tests have questions that really make you think, but if you attend all the lectures you'll do just fine. Notes are straight to the point w/ no additional info you won't need.
As a non-psych major, the class was insightful and interactive to me. The quizzes were based on the textbook, the discussion posts were guided by the assigned reading, and the exams were almost exclusively based off lecture. It wasn't "easy" though, so show up to class. (Personal) EXAMPLES should helped me; the definitions alone were not enough.
Dr Rogers is incredible, probably my fav teacher this semester. Definitely show up to class, his lectures are fun but also informative. The tests do require proper studying, but he makes clear the key concepts to know. Also discussion posts are based from a book we need to read, and I would say it is required texts. Take Dr Rogers if you can.
Dr. Rogers is probably one of the best professors I've ever had; he has very clear and cut out gradebook. He does have weekly assignments, but they're really easy. The textbook he uses is completely free and online and the book he uses can be bought for real cheap used. He drops the lowest quiz, discussion and test grades too. Def take Dr. Rogers.
LITERALLY AWFUL. like he doesnt even try to reach out to students. MADE 60 question exams (4 and a final although he drops your lowest test) and there are 12 discussions and about 8 quizzes. you will need to overly study the content. his SI leaders do not make things clear (well mine did not!!!) WOULD NOT TAKE EVERRRR AGAIN UNLESS OFFERED ONLINE.
Do not listen to the rating below mine. Dr Rogers is an incredible teacher who is passionate about the subject. He provides a clear grading rubric, provides reminders, offers extra credit, and adequately prepares you for the course. It may be a bit tougher than your normal intro classes, so you should probably go to the lectures. Take him!
Professor could use some work, he is not the worst but a lot of things are made unclear. I kind of agree with the comment about the SI leaders. Mine rarely responded to me reaching out. Take the professor if you are a great test taker. A tip: study the content about 30-1 hour daily instead of cramming the day of the exam.
Amazing professor. Class consists of 4 exams and a final. Easy discussions due every Sunday along with a 10min quiz.
He delivered information in a way that made sense. He would provide opportunities for students to understand what they did wrong on tests. He provided recommendations on how to study for the tests. He would also ask for student feedback so he could improve.
He is very considerate and I took him for abnormal based on his good reviews. His tests are based on the class lectures as well as the textbook, but his attendance counts for a grade too so it just works well. He's a clinical psychologist so he has lots of experience in this and it shows, and he makes the lecture content super interesting too!
He knows his stuff, cracks jokes in class, has engaging content, good presentation style, actually takes time to know his students, and offers feedback when you get things wrong. What more is there to ask from a professor?
Dr. Rogers is enthusiastic, caring, & truly amazing. Amazing feedback and amazing lectures. He engages the class and discusses items rather than reading off a powerpoint. His exams were extremely detailed, so study! 3 exams, 3 major assignments and 7 discussions, but were pretty simple. Work for the grade and you will pass. Please take him!
Class is not so difficult but annoying due to a strict professor who watches every student video on lockdown browser and expects immediate responses to announcements. Not recommended. Get ready for a stressed class and a professor who's life revolves around the class. Only positive is you get 3 chances per test.
Clear grading criteria. The study guides were basically the exams, they really helped as long as you truly studied. There were only like 2 in person assignments, other than that attendance is not really necessary. He's a sweet and funny professor, and is willing to help you. Definitely felt like this course helped me a lot!
Prof. Rogers was one of the best teachers i've had at KSU, Id take him for any other class in a heartbeat. He really enjoys his job and genuinely loves to teach. Take him if you can!
Dr. Roger cares about you as a student and want you to succeed in your professional life. This is an easy A. Come to class, complete the assignments on time, and take notes, and he gives you extra credit points of 15 which can assist you in your overall grade and he drops your lowest exam. He does not require you to take the final exam. Too easy.
An easy class.....
An easy B or A.....just read your book and do the easy assignments on time. Very cool professor.
One of the best professors I have ever had. Very knowledgeable, transparent, and easy to talk to. Definitely take him. Take notes, come to class, and complete the assignments on time...and you will get an easy B or A.
One of the easiest classes I have ever taken. Just read the textbook, take notes and come to class.
Awesome professor. He cares about students' academic success and post success after graduating from KSU. Please take his class.
An awesome professor that cares about students' interest and success in the major psychology.
I enjoyed Dr. Rogers class. He is an excellent professor that cares about his students' academic career in psychology and professional career in psychology. Definitely take him.
Dr. Rogers is one of the best professors on campus. He provides you with instant feedback. All you have to do is read the textbook, attend class regularly, and maintain good study habits and I assure you; you will receive an A or B in his class. The assignments are easy, weekly quizzes (3 attempts to take) and the 3 exams are not difficult.
Really great guy, knows his stuff, kind, always ready to help, I really did learn a lot about the major, career paths, and resources, immense amount of respect and the projects are fairly straightforward. my only warning: the tests: EXTREMLY difficult, "topics guide" does not help at all, and it will be hard to get an A if you cant pull them off.
I really enjoyed his class. He is an amazing professor and great person. He is by far one of the best professors at KSU.
Great professor. Very straightforward communication and it is obvious that he wants students to succeed. Graded on 7 discussion posts, 7 quizzes, 3 exams, 4 assignments, and the final. He makes it easy to have a good grade in the class and drops the lowest grade from some categories. Although there is a large workload, it is manageable.
One of the best professors I have ever had, the only reason why the class was difficult is because its a high-level class with hard material. His lectures are very interactive and he teaches the material very concisely. I'm taking his again next semester and would strongly recommend him.
Professor Rogers is an exceptional instructor. While the workload is manageable, the exams can be quite challenging. Attending lectures, keeping up with readings, and using resources like unstuck study have been crucial to success in the class. Overall, a rewarding experience.
Great professor! I enjoyed the conversations in this class. He's very nice and makes class seem less traditional. We did use a textbook, although helpful, it isn't required. Class Structure: Lectures from PowerPoints (verbal details), Quizzes (timed/ no camera/ not open notes), Exams (in-person/ with study guides), and 1 Paper.
Professor Rogers is great! I loved class discussions, and I felt comfortable asking questions. Get ready to read because it'll help you most on exams and quizzes. His power points aren't as detailed as the reading. Assignments are very easy, instructions are clear. He's also really funny! Definitely take this class, you'll pass for sure.
Loved Professor Rogers. He really knows his stuff, and makes it relatable as he lectures. He really wants everyone to succeed in his class. He promotes a lot of conversation in class, and he's very open to questions. His grading is very clear, and he WILL work with you on anything. I'm definitely going to try to take him again.
I have taken him twice and honestly is is probably the best teacher i have had at ksu. He cares about your education and it reflects in class. The material is hard but he is always there to help you
Professor Rogers is an incredible educator! He really understands where his students are at and aims to give them the knowledge and skills they need to succeed. His guidelines and feedback are clear, detailed, and timely. Written assignments include documents such as academic and life planners that you will use long after this class ends!!
Light workload, assignments are very useful for the future! Tests are difficult, study guides are vague and unhelpful. Txtbook required for the quizzes. Prof Rogers explained things well and would offer clarification whenever needed. Attendance required, and you have to pay attention to do well. The content posted is vague, so be attentive in class
He is a great professor. The only thing I had trouble with were the tests. The tests are mildly difficult but not impossible. I wasn't used to having so many questions for unit tests but it's okay. Other than that he was really great and helpful.
I think he's a good professor, the only thing are his tests. some questions on tests seemed to have come from left field, i feel like sometimes we never went over some of the questions. lots of tests but he did give 5 attempts each test which helped a bit. discussions were fairly easy and kept it interesting.
the course has two powerpoints per test and one test every three/four days. even when taking notes from the slides and the textbook, the tests were super difficult and the class average for them never went above an 80. i tried really hard and still did bad on them but at least the discussion posts are easy and interesting i guess.
Pretty straightforward class. Attendance is optional (but recorded). Tries his best to make lectures engaging. Spends time with questions and helps students when needed.
Professor Rogers really helped me understand my current and future paths as a psych major. The entirety of the course helps to evaluate possible routes, and his assignments work well with advisement. The quizzes only require lockdown, there are three big projects, and four exams including the final. Overall, this was great course and professor!
