His hearts in the right place. But, he needs to learn how to give simple answers to questions. The material is simple, and should be taught this way. This is not rocket science!
He seems very concerned with making sure we know he had the highest pass score for NV CPA. This is his first time teaching and it shows big time. Nice guy aside from his ego. So far, not much to offer except some really challenging tests that go much farther than the text and lectures....
1st class professor, probably best I've had so far. He gives his 100% and expects you to do the same. If you study and pay attention, you'll get a good grade. If you want to try to sneak by with a C, you're going to have a tough time. Very helpful and passionate, answers questions in a way so you'll fully understand the material.
Good professor, despite first time teaching. HAs workied in the field for many years and puts a real world spin on things. Dont listen to the other reviews, this used to be the "easy class" so no one wanted to show up. Go to class, do the homework and study. Great class, good info and awesome professor.
Really nice guy, has worked in the industry for many years and it shows. His tests can be difficult and time consuming, but he curves and tells you exactly what to expect. As long as you try, you should have no problem getting a good grade. He makes it a point to know each of his students and will go out of his way to make sure that you succeed.
Siciliano was probably one of the best, if not THE best professor I've had at UNLV so far. If you're looking for an "easy" class, this is not it, but if you're looking to learn, he's a great, knowledgeable professor with tons of experience. He's extremely intelligent and gets to know each student personally. He even offers to look over your resume!
Great Professor!! I would take all of his classes if I could. Not the easiest test but I learned the most in his class than I have in any of my other courses ever. Great Guy. Very experienced
Experience in the industry, smart & full of knowledge. Goes over info way too fast & expects students to catch on. HARD tests, tries to trick you with questions which is ridiculous. Quiz every class, xtra credit, only 3 tests & homework, writing assignment & Excel problems. Good teacher overall, prepare to study hard if acctg is not easy for you.
Three words: Greatest. Teacher. Ever. If I could take every class with him I would. His passion, knowledge, experience and friendliness make him stand out above anyone else. The material isn't super easy, don't expect it to be a breeze, but he definitely provides you with all the tools. Great guy. My favorite course in 3 years. You will LOVE him.
I wish all my teachers are like him. I took ACC202 and I was scared to take this class because I hate ACC 201. I fell in love with ACC202 by having Professor Siciliano as my instructor. I learned a lot and was able to apply the knowledge I learn in this class in real life. He is very successful and wants you to be successful too.
This is not an easy class at all. He is extremely helpful and truly wants everyone to learn, but the tests are extremely difficult. If you are not good at accounting, be prepared to put in work
Overall, great class! He is very smart and makes sure that his students understand the material. There is a bit of work, but if you expect to fly through college with ease then quit now. A successful life isn't for you. Anyway, just do what is required and you will get a good grade. If you get a 99% in the class you'll be exempted from the final.
Honestly the best teacher I've probably had in my life. He always emails fast and efficient answers to issues. He will always help you if you help yourself and will take your in class material and translate it to the real world. Class act!
Best teacher ever. Granted, this is my major but I am already planning on taking every class with him I can. He is very clear and explains things in a way everyone should understand. The tests were not difficult (average of 80) and he gives you plenty of material to prepare. Can't recommend him enough.
One of the best teachers at UNLV. He does a lot of in class examples to help you learn the material. He is ALWAYS there if you need advice about his class or anything else and is very easy to talk to. Great professor, and I'm sad he doesn't teach more classes at UNLV.
Professor Siciliano is a very good teacher who has a lot of actual experience as an accountant as well. He's very helpful and willing to further explain concepts that are difficult to understand. He also posts up past tests for us to study as well as study guides. Recommend if you want to learn ACC 202 the right way. Got an A in the class.
If you can't get an A in the class, you might want to rethink your major. I ended the class with over 100% because he offers many extra credit opportunities. The 3 tests are all multiple choice and you are allowed to use a page of notes (open notes for final). He is great at explain things and is glad to help any student that needs extra help.
Absolutely amazing teacher. Expectations are clear, feedback/grades are practically immediate. Learns everyone's name. Emails back are lightening fast. Willing to talk about anything with you. Extremely knowledgeable and thorough in class. Lots of in class examples help to solidify lecture concepts. Would take every class with him if I could.
Great professor! Gives helpful in-class examples, 3 tests-1 hard, 1 easy, the final somewhere in between. learns everyone's name, grades fairly. Not a guaranteed A, but if you stay on top of the hw, go to class(attendance not mandatory) you can get it. He genuinely cares about his students.
Great teacher who genuinely cares about his students. He learns your names in a very large class and provides many opportunities for extra credit. He clearly states what will be on the test and his review games are based upon the tests. Great teacher, if not the best at UNLV
Very helpful and very clear what is required.
Great teacher and person. Wants you to be successful. Goes above and beyond to help anyone. A lot of work, but it is all to help you understand. If you keep up with the work, studying, etc. you will do fine!
Siciliano is the best teacher I've had at UNLV. If Accounting is your major you MUST take him. Siciliano knows people in the industry and will use these contacts to help you out if you do well/try hard in his class. With very little effort on my part he got me an internship. Great man.
Professor Siciliano is one of the best professors I've ever had. If you have any interest in accounting, he will go above and beyond to show you how successful you can be in the Accounting field. He really wants you to succeed. Also, if you have a 99% in the course at the end of the semester, he rewards you by not having to take the final. Awesome!
Hands down the best professor I've ever had! He makes the boring subject of accounting very interesting and shows you how to use it in every day life. He goes beyond what is expected. He sends out weekly emails of what is due and what to expect during the week. Awesome guy! Even better professor! HIGHLY RECCOMENDED. Take his class!
Mr. Sicialano is my favorite professor I've ever had. With a class of 140 students, he knew everyone's name within a month. He emails students weekly about what to expect in the upcoming week. He is by far one of the most positive people I've ever met. He is my role model! He really cares about being a good professor. Take any of his courses!
Just like everyone else has mentioned. One of the greatest professors ever. His classes are structured very well. He gives you every chance to succeed in his course, as well as the opportunity to really understand and enjoy accounting. I can't express how great this professor is a teacher and person.
Professor Siciliano is by far the best professor I have ever had. He is dedicated to teaching and it shows. Class assignments, projects, tests, homework - everything is clear, concise, and there is no "grey area". His lectures are entertaining, he has real world corporate executive experience that you can't put a price on.
By far one of the most amazing professors I have ever had! He truly cares about his students. Go to class, pay attention and practice. He will give you all the materials you need to succeed and then some. Take him for any class if you can.
Best professor ever! When I was taking his ACC202,I never missed any single class because I just simply enjoyed his lecture.I waited till fall to take ACC405 with him,and he didn't disappoint me!Make sure go to his office hour if you are struggling,he really cares about his students.Final is a killer, so try to get high grades on first two exams.
Prof. Siciliano's lectures are interesting and intriguing. He tries his best to engage his students in order to help clarify concepts- and it's really helpful! His lectures aren't that bad, and he always tries to tie in accounting into the real world and news. He is an amazing accounting teacher!
AMAZING professor. So organized, responses to emails instantly, great examples for test prep. His lectures are clear and the exams are fairly easy if you do the test prep. One excel project and Connect homework also. Read the book!
Such a great teacher. I wasn't that into accounting but he made it easy to understand and his lectures were put together very well. He genuinely wants his students to understand the concepts and cares about everyone's grade. Lots of extra credit opportunities as well.
Prof. Siciliano is one of the best professors I've had at unlv. . He is always there for help and he wil remember your name. I took him 1.5 years ago, and he still knows my name. The tests are multiple choice, as long as you study you'll be fine. The hw is super easy (you get multiple trys). His projects can be a little hard, but not too bad.
Siciliano is all about learning the material by yourself. He'll explain concepts and give examples in class but most of the work has to be done on you own. You have to read before class, because of Pop Quizzes. Be prepared! The tests are a little challenging. It's best that you understand what the question is actually asking for the problem.
He's a great professor! His teaching is clear and understandable by all business majors. I felt like I understood the material more from his lectures and in-class examples. You definitely need to go to every class if you want to get an A.
One of the best accounting professors. He does not want you to memorize the material but actually learn the material. Makes the Material easier to understand. Ultimately, he is a humble person. He likes to prepare students for their careers in accounting in all aspects. allows a note card for tests and 1 page for final. Overall, a great professor.
As long as you pay attention while doing the Homework (which never takes more than an hour... maybe 30 minutes at most), and you go to every class and pay attention to how he breaks it down, you will do great in this class. There are extra credit opportunities, take full advantage. He breaks everything down to a simplistic level, so you'll get it
One of the best professors ever. He's a CPA and really knows the materials and teaches in the easiest way possible without cutting anything out. You learn a ton in the semester and you will find yourself much more knowledgeable in the subject. His lectures are amazing and fun. Always there to help you. You earn what you deserve. Study and get an A.
Best teacher I've had thus far in my 4 years of college. Going to class isn't mandatory but you will feel like you missed a lot if you skip. Very few tests so you need to do well! He allows note-cards on all tests! Good amount of quizzes, and HW, but nothing crazy. HW you can plug and chug, and just review it later. His lectures are what matter.
Siciliano is definitely the best professor that I have ever had! He is extremely helpful and genuinely wants all of his students to succeed! All of his tests are fair and he prepares the class with review game competitions that earn you extra credit. HW and quizzes weekly, but they are very easy and help you to understand the concepts. Great class!
Prof. Siciliano, hands down, is one of the best professors I've had at UNLV. I'm not a business major but he made me want to pursue a career in ACC. He genuinely cares about students and wants us all to succeed. He gives several helpful resources for exams and pays close attention to how we perform. Most definitely recommend him!
The BEST professor I have ever had!!!hes very experienced in the field of accounting, and is super helpful to students both in academic and future career. He makes everything crystal clear to ensure that every student gets the material and be success in class. Take him!! he really makes me much more passionate about accounting
He was by far the best teacher I've ever had! I would def recommend him. It is a tough class but if you but in the effort, go to class, do the homework (which isn't that tough and he gives you the answers most of the time), participate (get extra credit for that) and ask him for help, he will help you.
Amazing professor that really wants his students to succeed. Homework is straight forward. Seven pop quizzes + one take home. Tons of extra credit for participation. Study guides have the same questions as the two midterms. You're exempted from the final is you have 99% at the end of the semester, which he makes really feasible. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Amazing professor! This is definitely not an easy class, there is a lot of work but if you work hard can definitely get an A. his lectures are interesting, fun and tremendously helpful. I learned more than I thought I would. He gives you a lot of advice on how to become a successful professional in the Accounting world (my favorite part)
Professor Siciliano is one of the best professors I've had. He is clear with is directions and makes sure you understand what is expected of you. ACC 400 has a lot of work, but the class schedule is extremely organized. His tests are TOUGH, but passible. Make sure you come to class, pay attention to the calendar, and study
Amazing professor. Notes are crystal clear. Gives exam reviews that are almost identical to the exam. Great at responding to any emails. If you don't take him for any class, you're missing out.
Siciliano makes a tough course bearable. Responds quickly to emails and generally has an open door to all of his students all of the time. Exams are directly proportional to class notes. Offers real world examples in his lectures and gives a good amount of extra credit. Take a course with him if you can!
Professor Siciliano makes the hard concepts easy to comprehend. He gives so many opportunities to earn extra credit, has review sessions before tests, and provides clear cut examples in class. He is very prepared and efficient. Personally, Danny is the best professor I have had at UNLV. Must take class for 202.
One of the best professors at the Business College. Ties everything we learn to real world examples. Brings a lot of knowledge from his experience in the finance and accounting world. Does a very good job at keeping you engaged during lectures. BONUS: If you have a 99% in his class right up until the final, you don't have to take the Final Exam!
Great Pro. not only for the ACC202, but also for you career and life. 3 exams, many extra credits, book may not useful, but you need t buy the Connect Code to do the HW every week. HWs are easy, he will give you a same example with different numbers. he gives a lot of rewards. Take him, you will have a great time and a good grade.
For every class he teaches at UNLV, you must attend class (clicker points and you need to get the notes everyday). This class is fairly easy but be expected to know an incredible amount of information for the final. He's the only one who teaches this class. He is decent
Best professor I have ever taken. Mr. Siciliano makes accounting understandable. Easy to get an A+ if you just listen to the lectures and bring your notecard to the tests.
He is from a corporate background so appointments for OHs are a must. Teaches in the way I imagine that Phil Jackson coaches his basketball players! Drills, practice, and more practice! However, to be successful you really have to take the time to understand what is being taught, as certain chapters take longer to master. High-caliber professional.
Very clear about how things will be graded. Extra credit is built in. If you get into his 99% club you will not have to take the final. You are allowed a notecard cheat sheet on tests but as long as you study you won't need it. Must do well on the tests if you want an A, more than 3 wrong and you will have a B. Gives "pop quizzes" after every chap
Great professor with clear expectations for all assignments and test. Has built in extra credit, use that to your advantage! A really great guy willing to work with you. Do the connect homework, and you'll get an easy A.
Siciliano is a great professor who wants everyone to learn and understand. He is the best accounting teacher I have had at UNLV. Go to class, read the book and he will do the rest! Take him
He is the best teacher I have ever had at UNLV. He really cares about his students.
Awesome professor, take if you can! If you get a 99% or above (which IS actually achievable, I did it and I am no math whiz), then you don't have to take the final AND he'll give you a letter of recommendation whenever you need it in the future. He makes accounting as interesting as it can be!
I've learned incredibly a lot in his class. His focus is not just accounting. He wants everyone to have a successful career. 3 exams. 2 thank you letters. 1 sua project( tons of work; start early). 1 communication project ( in which you will plan your college, CPA exam, and interview). I recommend his class to anyone who is interested in accounting
The best professor.
Siciliano is a great guy but his method of teaching is not the best. When you go to his class it is more of a review Basically you as the student have to teach yourself the chapters. One of the few positives in going to class is ECIn previous accounting classes the professor actually taught the lesson and really explained the chapters more in depth
Professor Siciliano is very professional and wants his students to succeed. You must do the homework and participate in class to benefit the most from his class. He keeps the lectures fun and engaging and will make a big lecture feel small. Very fair professor and he goes beyond the book to teach good habits and life lessons as well.
This guy really cares about his students and his class is structured in a way to teach you through as many ways as possible and he makes it fun. For text book, my advice is to just buy the online code from connect. Cheaper that way.
Awesome professor, pop quizzes throughout semester, average weekly homework, has review sessions for exams, extra credit is given out, concepts can be tough but Danny is open for help and highly accessible.
Easily one of my favorite professors ever! Its clear that he cares for his students, and want them to understand the material. He will give you all the pieces you need to get an A, you just have to put it together. Lectures are interesting and very helpful. Go to reviews, do the HW and you should have no problem passing.
He's one of the best ACC professors, and future ACC 400 students should be upset they won't have him. He makes an otherwise boring course very fun and interesting. He's extremely knowledgeable, and he brings current ACC professionals into the classroom. He's tough, but fair. Highly recommend!
I wish i could have dedicated more time to this class. I know i could have gotten a way better grade if I put in real work. I hardly studied and really did the minimum. It was an interesting course and the professor applied the concepts to real life. I am hope I can cross paths with him in the future! Keep up the amazing work!
He's incredible! He doesn't just stand in class and talk about PowerPoints, he goes over examples to make sure everyone understands the work and really wants his students to understand and do well in class and in their careers. Straightforward and clear with lectures and what's expected in the class. Would take him for any class if I could.
Dr. Siciliano is the best professor I've had at the university so far. He really cares for his students and wants to see everyone succeed in his class. He does not use powerpoints that were created for him, he creates his own which is different than most professors. Make sure you join the Facebook group. It helps!
Great professor! Brings real life experience. Really does care about students success, not just during the class, but long term. He adds two extra lectures that are very interesting, personal finance & careers. Tests are not super easy, but with the adequate amount of studying it's easy to get a fair grade.
Great class! The class is very structured so students know what to expect to get the grade they want. Make an appt to meet with him in office hours ASAP. He really gets to know each and every one of his students so make a good impression. He explains concepts in class very easily and clearly so students can understand the information.
LOVED this class! Wish I could have Siciliano for more classes. Know whats expected and do your homework and you'll do great. Get 99% and you don't have to take the final, which is totally possible with all the extra credit you can earn via participation. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN!
If youre not a teachers pet, he is not the professor for you. He looks at you like you're dumb when you ask questions and is extremely unapproachable.
Honestly, he's one of the best professors I've ever had. He explains each concept thoroughly and multiple times so as long as you come to class and listen, you shouldn't have any problems. He offers lots of extra credit, which makes the 99% club easily obtainable. He also offers review sessions before each test.
I took him for 202. He's not that easy. I spend hours studying for his exams. He is also really stingy with points.
Danny made financial accounting as accessible as possible for people who had no experience with it, and provided clear instructions on how to earn an A. His tests require a lot of studying on a lot of information, so cramming will not work.
i don't really like his grading system. He will give out raffle tickets to students who know the answer, but wouldn't care about the students who are struggling and trying to grasp the material. I wish he would help the students who are struggling more. He's also goes over everything really fast.
Siciliano a great professor, he is knowledgeable and cares about his students success.
Probably one of the best professors I've had at UNLV. The class itself is pretty easy as long as you pay attention and practice the material. Additionally, he provides extra credit to students who answer questions in class or assist other students/
Probably one of the best professors I've had at UNLV. The class itself is pretty easy as long as you pay attention and practice the material. Additionally, he provides extra credit to students who answer questions in class or assist other students. If you struggle in this class it's your own fault.
Danny is an amazing professor. You can tell he has put a ton of time into thinking about how to teach his classes in an effective, enjoyable, and interactive way.
As someone who didn't like ACC 201, I expected to feel the same about 202. This class proved me wrong. Danny was a CFO for IGT back when they were at their peak and during the recession in 07-08. He not only structures his lectures in an easy fashion, but he gives real-life examples that anyone from any major can take with them. Highly Recommend.
I enjoyed 201, but it had more frustrating hw. In 202 I had little to no trouble. Siciliano does a great job in class to help you understand concepts and is accessible. In 202 you must practice a lot through repetition and it will click. I didn't participate in class, but I listened and practiced at home. Full page notes on the final. Class is fun!
My favorite professor in 3 years of college. He cares about your educational success, as well as your success in life. His lectures are interesting, he will teach you everything you need to know. Cheat cards on the tests, and a whole cheat page on the final. Just go to class and participate for extra credit. Everything is printable on webcampus.
Prof Siciliano is hands down the best professor I've ever had. His energy and passion for accounting made this class absolutely remarkable. This is a hard class and you need to start studying early for the exams. Show up to every class, work on the ICEs regularly, ask questions, read the topics and you should be relatively ok. Tests are very tough.
This class is overall pretty easy. If you have a 99% you don't have to take final. Offers extra credit daily and with almost every assignment. Tests are fair, drops hints as to what will be on the exam and has multiple review sessions. If you arn't good at accounting then really study for the exams. Allows note card for exam.
This was an amazing class! Professor Siciliano really cares about all of his students and whether or not they all learn the material. The textbook used isn't mandatory but it contains in class examples that make it very easy to go back and study for tests. If you have the choice, taking his class is probably your best choice!
he's a cool guy but I had a B+ throughout the semester and the final is really hard compared to the first two it dropped me to a C which sucks because I tried hard in this class. He really favors the students who understand the content easily. He goes to fast during lectures so I didn't learn a lot during lectures I did better in tutoring.
Overall he is a good professor. Makes sure to create note cards to reference, but also understand the material and don't rely solely on the notecards. The final exam is tough.
Professor Siciliano is honestly the best professor i've taken at UNLV so far. He gives extra credit out and really wants his students to succeed. He wants students to participate but doesn't negatively grade them if they don't. He wants students to grasp concepts not simply just memorize. He also offers prior semester tests and quizzes to study.
I don't think he is that great of a professor. He has a really huge ego and when you talk to him, if your not part of his "slug club" he offers no real help or advice. I don't now why his rating is so high considering he is not very nice.
Danny is a great professor. Students really learn in his class. If you paid attention in class, you didn't have to study to hard outside of class. He gives interesting lectures, gives extra credit for participation, and he brings in guest speakers to give you real life examples. Do your homework and you are a solid B.
The way the class is set up, as long as you concentrate on understanding the homework examples thoroughly, you'll do fine. It would also help to be pretty and female, as he seemed much more willing to sit down and devote time to those students. Otherwise, he'll brush off most of your questions and be lightly condescending.
This guy is a joke. Look he's a nice guy and he wishes for success but he does this through a teaching style that isn't for everyone. If you get a 99% overall you don't have to take the final which despite the multiple extra credit opportunities, is impossible since the exams that you take are a huge part of the grade and meant to trick you.
Terrible guy, acts chill and pretends like he cares about his students. His exams are stupid, set up to trick you. He'll have questions where he'll mix up the A B C D order just to trick you. WHY? Gives tests from prior exam, but it doesn't help since the current semesters exam are different. Don't even bother studying the previous T/F questions
kindest professor I've ever had honestly. very organized and prepared. wants students to succeed. gives you ample resources to study for exams and unlimited extra credit.
Very passionate professor. Lectures were enjoyable. STUDY! STUDY! STUDY! Go to exam reviews!
Professor Siciliano is such a good professor. He genuinely cares about his students' grades and shows many examples to help you see how to do the homework and exam problems. He also offers extra credit through participation. His class was so much fun and I look forward to being in his classes again for upper division accounting classes :)
I started off this class with a Big Fat D. D on the 2nd quiz and 126/200 on the 1st exam. But I worked my but off and finished the class with a B. But what made this important was he requires you to meet with him outside of class hours if you get lower than a C. He emailed me several times to congratulate me on my progress. This dude cares
Organized, prepared professor. He gives a lot of attention towards the pretty, white females. Gives extra credit points to people who know the answers in class. So if you don't understand the material, then good luck. Pop quizzes throughout the semester. Homework just about every week.
The best professor I've ever had, hands down. The material isn't easy per se, but if you put in the work, study, and read then you will do well in this class. HIs method of teaching is unparallel with the other professors I've had and is very effective. Take him again and again!
Okay, there have been a few comments about how Prof Siciliano is a horrible teacher but those aren't true. He genuinely cares about your education and will go out of his way to help his students if you seek it out. Easier than ACC 201, exams are fair/easy, notecard provided, he gives out TONS of extra credit and is one of the best profs overall!
Siciliano is great! Don't be scared by bad comments. Participating is the most important factor of getting a good grade. He provides incentives to contribute, his teaching style is very clear, his help is easily accessible, and the course is outlined well. There are also a ton of resources to succeed. Be attentive and you'll be more than alright!
Don't be scared by bad comments. Siciliano has a very clear teaching style and is easily accessible. There are many resources provided to help you succeed and incentives to contribute. Getting a good grade really comes down to personal responsibility. Siciliano sets you up for success, but you have to utilize the tools given in order to succeed!
This is truly a professor that cares about you succeeding. Attendance isnt mandatory but he does have pop quizzes and his lectures make all concepts very easy to grasp and understand. It is also very easy to get help outside the class. Honestly one of the best professors Ive ever had, if not THE best.
He is awesome. Def really caring and he's hilarious. Makes his lectures interesting to learn. Does have random pop quizzes so be alert, but after a while, you start to get a feel for when he'll give them out. Allows a sheet of notes for exams. GO TO HIS EXAM REVIEWS, they help. Also has a raffle at the end of the semester, so participate in class.
By far the best professor at UNLV. He cares about each student and provides many resources for help. There is extra credit for participation and the Facebook group. get as many as you can!! You will only pass if you put in the work.
You have two exams and one final. Homework due at the end of the week. He is an amazing professor. He makes you want to major in accounting. One of the best professor i've encountered at UNLV. He makes you look forward to going to class. Gives extra credit everyday and on facebook if you comment helps another students. Tests are super similar to la
Best accounting teacher! Professor Siciliano is very logical and organized, his syllabus, assignments schedule and grading criteria are very clear and organized, which makes you easy to keep on track. His lectures are very fun and interesting. He makes accounting concepts easy to understand. He has a lot of problem-solving practices in class too.
If you study the in class examples & understand them, you'll do fine. Second exam was hard but he made up for it by curving it. He's very fair when it comes to grades & allows a notecard on exams & a full page of notes on the final. He gives extra credit for participation & cares about getting to know his students & making sure they succeed.
Far the best accounting prof at UNLV. Class was very organized. Gives EC for class participation. Fair grade. Cares about his students. Let's you use a 3x5 notecard on exams and 8x11 paper for the final. Study notes/ICEs, go to lecture, get easy hw points, understand concepts, you should pass. 2 exams, 1 final, 5 excel assignments , online hw
Professor Siciliano is hands down the best professor I've ever had. He genuinely cares about his students and wants everyone to succeed. He responds to emails quickly and is very approachable with questions. He has tests/quizzes graded within 24 hours (usually way sooner, closer to 6-8 hours). His class is hard, but he offers so much extra credit.
Professor Siciliano is an AMAZING proffessor! I am not good at accounting and I struggled throughout the semester, but if you come to class, pay attention, and get help when you need it, you will do just fine. This class has 7 pop quizzes so always be prepared. He also posts previous semester tests to study off of which helps! Take this professor!!
Here is an amazing teacher. One of the best professors I ever had. He really knows how to teach the subject and the concepts are extremely easy to grasp. It may seem easy but make sure you study beyond the study guide and look back at the online homework. He's really funny even though he says he isn't. Great class. Highly recommend.
He is the best professor I have had at UNLV. He really cares about his students and rewards those who engage in his class with raffle tickets that count as extra credit. By incentivizing his students to participate, he incentivizes them into actually understanding the material. He provides so many resources to his students to do well. Take him!!
The best teacher ive had at UNLV. 10/10 Yes you have to do homework and study a little for tests but he sets you up completely to do well. He will do the problems in class that are on hw, notecards every test, whole piece of paper front & back for final, great review for everything. He also has a great personality & is so funny & cool too TAKE HIM
I was in the hybrid course, half online/in person. I liked his class and how he taught. You HAVE to do the hw and you have to come to class. I HATE the exams. They're some bs tbh. A lot of concept questions. The final brought me from a 96% to an 86% and we didn't even go over the last chapters. He's alright. Lots of tricky true or false. Good luck
Here's the main issue with Siciliano, he's an opportunist from the corporate world. He exploits the university system to make himself look better, not teach. Examples; narcissistic class photo, raffles to win over students, POSSIBILITY to not take the final (nearly impossible). He does not teach the material, he teaches to the test. Learned nothing
Danny is a great professor. This is the best Accounting class Ive taken. He says hes not funny but hes actually pretty funny. He cares about his students and wants them to success. He also allows a notecard during the exams. If youre an accounting major you should totally take him
Listen, Danny is a cool guy. But he makes accounting seem easier than it really is. The 99% club is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to reach. You have to have gotten an A on both tests or lots of extra credit. I passed but I will say it was not a walk in the park (its manageable though) BTW he low-key favors people in class who play sports.
Definitely choose Siciliano for 405. Difficult class but the criteria is very clear. You truly earn your grade in this course.
The 99% club isnt impossible to reach, but the class could be challenging if you dont go to class.
As a person, Siciliano is a cool guy. As a professor, terrible. There is no reason that I received an F after going to class everyday, doing homework and taking tests. His class is hard to understand when he uses examples not in the book and that have errors and mistakes. He goes through examples so quickly that it's hard for anyone to take in.
Funny and caring. Gives extra credit if you participate. Keeps lectures interesting with jokes and music. Tests and Connect hwk based on the activities done in class. Didn't really use the book. PPT lectures posted in Canvas. Attendance isn't mandatory but gives pop quizzes which make up a lot of your grade. No make-ups on quizzes.
He gives a study guide before the test that tells you exactly what to study and if you know that inside and out you will do well on tests. He does not like to answer too many questions due to limited class time so make friends in the class. ABSOLUTELY show up to the optional pre test review !!!!!! Good Professor who cares about his students.
AMAZING professor. cares about his students and their lives in and out the classroom. really easy to talk to. Go to his office hours, it will help you later. Participate in class, you will get points. Do ALL the homework to help your grade and take good notes. He is a fair, fun professor.
Do it. You don't really have another option most times, and Siciliano will help you out with career decisions and extra credit.
A reverse classroom isn't for everyone. Actively participating in the class will make the class horrifically easy. Aside from just completing homework and helping out on the Facebook, I did not study outside of class at all and had nearly 106% in the class. Unless you're skipping and sleeping, it is really hard to fail.
it is almost difficult to fail or get lower than a C. He goes over everything in countless ways multiple times. He gives you every opportunity to learn as well as life advice which many need. and he will give some help on personal finances GO TO OFFICE HOURS !
Whether you take hybrid or live class you will do great if you put effort in. He gives you everything you need to succeed in the class. Connect homeworks, in class examples, powerpoint videos, etc. He is super helpful and gives so much extra credit. Study for exams and you will do really well. And meet with him during the semester!
First of all, attendence is not mandatory. But, you will miss out on extra credit, pop quizzes, ICAs, and useful information for the exams. So, it is pretty much mandatory if you want to do well in his class. Other than that, the professor is very energetic and interested in the subject matter. This makes the class much more enjoyable.
one of my fav profs, he cares so much about his students. gives so much EC. such a nice and caring guy. took the hybrid class, alot of material in a few classes, but gives so many different resources that make it so easy to learn all of the material. can use a note card on tests and a full page of notes on the final
Best ACC prof. I've taken so far! I bombed the 1st exam bc I barely studied. Since then, I'd participate more in class in order to fully grasp the topics (u get EC!) and study way ahead for exams. This class requires u to study a lot to get the grade u want so, study! He goes over fast sometimes but u can ask him to explain it again.
Best professor Ive had at UNLV. Was super hands on to make sure his students understood the material and knew what to expect. He was always available for office hours and even opened up to phone appts during COVID. He offers a lot of extra credit throughout the course so its very easy to get a good grade if you participate.
Professor Siciliano was great! He goes very fast through lecture, probably due to the high volume of lecture material. He gives you amazing personal finance advice and I looked up to him. His lecture are really funny and you will not be bored! 10/10 would take again.
Professor Siciliano, is a pretty cool dude. He is super nice and structures the class in a way that makes everything easy to understand. Show up and you should be fine. If you really need help, meet with him and he will work with you. He literally hands out extra credit like candy.
Prof. Siciliano is undoubtedly the BEST PROFESSOR in the Accounting program and in UNLV overall. I'm an alumni of the 99% club. 99% means I got a 99% A+ in his class. I've never had such a passion for Accounting until I took him and understood all the material. Lectures are funny and excellent, just pay attention. 3 exams, hw is easy if you study.
okay, all I have to say is, take him! he's really amazing in explaining his lectures, the grading criteria. you should participate as much as you can for extra points and there are pop quizzes but nothing too crazy. just do what you're supposed to do and learn the material and you'll be good. love how this class also can be used in daily situations
I took Professor Siciliano's course for the Spring 2020 semester. During this time the COVID-19 Pandemic hit, and we were forced to go remote. He gives lots of extra credit if you participate. Unfortunate for me, I received none; however, I still got an A. Just need to study hard and prepare for the exams. Homework matters a very much.
This is the graduate-level internship for credit class. You need to write a 3-5 page paper, and get a manager or partner of the firm you are interning with to fill out a couple forms. The professor included some example essays and some resources on how to succeed in recruiting season. This is a pretty simple class overall. I'm glad I took it.
Professor Siciliano is the best professor I have ever had! He was so helpful and generally cared about his students. He gave so many practice problems and examples, it was nearly impossible to not do not good on tests. I HIGHLY recommend to take his classes!
Professor Siciliano was a true gem. The class was asynchronous, meaning all recorded lectures. Even with this abnormality due to covid, he was extremely involved. The content can get confusing but his in class examples explain the topics in ways that are far more easy to comprehend than the book lays out, he was amazing with explanations of topics!
Professor Siciliano is a great accounting professor. Everything in the class was laid out in the beginning and there were no surprises. Even with the semester being remote because of Covid, I think that I still learned what I was supposed to like in a regular class. Definitely recommend him because his in-person class is probably better.
Really nice Professor and makes things easy to understand. Class has a reasonable amount of work but definitely not hard if you just pay attention and do it the way he explains it. Simple math and engaging lectures.
Professor Siciliano inspired me to become an accounting major. He does everything possible to help his students succeed. He provides the necessary resources to help you understand the material by heart. His class definitely requires work but the outcome is extraordinary. Make sure to take advantage of extra credit. I will miss his class the most.
Professor Siciliano is the best professor I have ever had. He provides all the necessary resources for a student to succeed. He also gives extra credit on Facebook group participation which is very helpful to learn. Make sure to plan your weekly schedule accordingly and not fall behind. I will miss being in his class.
Siciliano is honestly one of the best professors I have had at UNLV. Makes you work hard but at the same time is lectures are very clear. I would take him again 100%
one of the best, most caring profs. here at unlv. even though the class content is pretty difficult, he makes it more understandable and provides MANY ways for students to succeed. do not miss a chance to take any of his classes.
This is a class you take for credit for an accounting internship. You simply write a 1 page paper saying what you think you will learn, then meet with the professor remotely to discuss the internship for 15 minutes, then get your employer to sign some forms, and then do a 5-8 page paper reflecting on the internship. Simple class. Nice professor.
He's one of the best professors I've ever had. He is one of the reasons why I chose to be an accounting major. He gives lots of chances for extra credit and cares about whether his students understand the material. There are 2 tests and final, with a bunch of easy homework assignments. Definitely take him!
Took class for requirement Fall 2021. We didnt meet online but he has lecture videos in more than one format, Does detailed assignments for clarification, and work is all on McGraw-Hill which is a very helpful website. Class consists of prep videos, homework, three small projects, 3 quizzes, 2 tests and a cumulative final.
This Professor made me love accounting more. One of the best UNLV Professor that I had by far. Hes amazing and cares about his students. The materiel is hard but he does his very best to help his students. Plus, ton of extra credits. If he taught other business classes I would definitely take his classes. 100% worth it.
Prof. Siciliano was a great professor. How well you do in the class is based off of how much youre willing to push yourself outside of class. His tests arent that bad if you know how to do the math and he lets you bring notes. BEWARE of the True or False questions. And dont skip class. He takes attendance with poll everywhere. Overall 10/10
I really loved this class because Professor Siciliano is so organized and eager to answer questions. The examples in class are very similar to the homework, you get to use a notecard on exams and if you get a 99% (like I did) then you can write a letter to future students instead of taking the final. Highly recommend him!
Professor Siciliano is very organized and provides a clear path to succeed in the class. He does a great job at motivating students and is the best professor I've had so far at UNLV.
Congrats ladies and gentlemen, you've found him. You've found the best professor at UNLV bar none. I'm both an undergraduate graduate & a law school grad and I can't think of another professor even close to being on par with Siciliano out of the 70+ professors I've had over 7 years. He's a fun, likable professor that grades fairly but leniently ovr
Assignments followed a logical order, printouts were very handy and useful, practice tests were very accurate to real tests, lots of extra credit opportunities. Not everything in the textbook is covered, so the lecture and printouts are basically the main things covered. He speaks very clearly, and is a very kind and understanding professor.
Attendance matters for participation points but every lecture is uploaded at the end of the week. Incorporated current events/news into the class as real examples. Extra credit is offered throughout the semester. Lectures include funny math and accounting memes/jokes. Weekly hw usually due Sunday at midnight.
This class was similar to ACC202, but tougher. Professor Siciliano perfectly demonstrates how a professor can significantly impact your decision to major in something. He genuinely cares about his students and wants everyone to succeed. He is transparent with his feedback, which is greatly appreciated. I highly recommend taking his class.
Professor Siciliano has a teaching method that is easy to follow and understand. There are weekly assignments based on the lectures and in-class practice and although attendance isn't mandatory, it is highly recommended since participation will be graded. Would highly recommend.
Hands-down the best Professor I've had at UNLV. He makes his lectures fun and interactive. You can tell he really cares about his students and what he teaches. 100% recommend him for anyone that needs ACC 202 and beyond.
He was the best professor I've ever had at UNLV. He changed my perspective on a lot of things and gave me the motivation to work hard in his class. It's still an accounting class, so it is difficult. But he gives you all of the tools and more than you need to be successful you just have to put the time in to do it.
Dr. Siciliano is great! He cares about his students. My biggest issue with this class was the amount of content we had to cover. I was constantly getting lost on what was happening in the class. He goes over exactly how to do the homework in class when we can ask questions. The exams are HARD (if you struggle with 201 like me) so be prepared.
He is amazing and truly cares about his students. I enjoyed learning accounting from him. He will help in any way as long as you give back and are appreciative. You do need to buy the material as the HW and practices from there. It's not an easy class but I'm glad I took him for acc 405.
This class was super easy! He really helps you get the grade you want by setting goals. He allows you to go over any test or work with him to improve your grade. This class is great to take especially if you are trying to just take it for credit.
The professor is accessible and pretty good. However, the class is really difficult and we have to use McGraw Hill. His exams are proctored through Proctorio, which uses your camera. Other than that, his class is probably better in-person. He also provides plenty of resources to study, but you can't afford to fall behind.
Professor Siciliano is the greatest professor at the University. His class was one of the few classes I felt excited to attend during the week. He genuinely cares about all of his students. Don't listen to the very few negative ratings. There's a 99% chance they just didn't do the work and refused to attempt to communicate with him beforehand.
Hands down the BEST accounting professor! The class is hard, but he is extremely knowledgeable, and a role model. He inspired me to do better every day! Show up to the class since attendance is vitally important AND print your ICAs. Practice tests before the exams are very helpful.
This professor does so much to help you get an A (not just pass). He allows notecards on tests, reviews assignments before they're due, and is available pretty much 24/7. All the assignments are beneficial for the tests and some are practically identical to exams. Amazing individual, and very admirable but not at all egotistical. Take this class!
Makes accounting super easy. There are three exams including the final. The lectures and homework match up with the exams and are explained well. Notecards are allowed on exams and he really makes sure that you understand the concepts. Attendance is mandatory but there are recordings in case you can't make it. TAKE THIS CLASS.
Took this class online, and I can say that this is one of the best-designed courses that I have ever taken so far. He provides a guided sequence that you should follow which allows you to practice accounting multiple times a week and will cause you to not study as much for exams. He is a very good instructor and allows notecards on exams.
Prof Siciliano's ACC 202 class is very well structured! Each module gives a clear path to what needs to be done and what needs to be learned. The class consisted of two exams and one cumulative final, I would pay attention to definitions/terms presented in the lectures as they are what the conceptual questions are based off of.
He is so worth it. Constantly helping his students and his lectures really keep students entertained and engaged. TAKE HIM!!!!!!!
Amazing professor! Based my whole schedule on taking this class with him. Makes accounting entertaining and has amazing test prep materials. Gives study guides that are pretty much 1:1 of the actual exam with different numbers. P.S. Rihanna is back!
My favorite professor at UNLV so far! Clearly cares about his students and has a passion for accounting. He incorporates a balance of seriousness with some jokes throughout his lectures. Recommend attending his class if you want to succeed, however attendance is not mandatory, but PollEverywhere responses are.
Mr. Siciliano is a great professor. Everything is extremely organized. If you put your best foot forward, Mr. Siciliano will make sure that you don't step in mud. He leads with positivity which can be challenging for negative people, but in the end, he is a great Professor.
The most caring professor I've ever had. I've taken him twice and he truly cares about helping students succeed. Take advantage of his office hours just to chat with him so he can hear about how you're feeling in class. He gives great homework and study guides that mirror the tests. The subject is tough in general but he does great at teaching it.
My favorite professor at UNLV. He provides so many resources for you to pass the class and gives extra credit opportunities. His classes although aren't mandatory his lectures are a main part of the class and will help you get a good grade in the class. He always goes over homework in class and makes sure you understand the material.
If you have the opportunity to take Professor Siciliano, do it. He's very knowledgeable in the field of Accounting and Finance. The test reviews and homework are very similar to what's on the exam. His class is very organized and has everything you need to pass. Not related to the class, but he has an impeccable taste in music and food.
Take this professor! I didn't have to study at all for this class because he teaches so well. Attendance isn't mandatory but necessary for participation. He gives amazing life advice and genuinely cares for his students.
Siciliano is the best professor I have ever had. He knows how to teach, and knows how to get students to care and participate. Please please take him if you have the chance to. He is the best by far. His tests are reflections of the practice tests he gives out, so it is extremely easy to pass his class with flying colors.
Absolutely amazing! He showed great care to all of us and wanted all of us to succeed, both in the classroom and in our career goals. His lectures were insightful and full of great material. His tests and projects were fair as well. Overall, amazing class!
Professor Siciliano is an awesome lecturer who really cares about the success of his students. He teaches the material and provides examples of how certain calculations are used. Everything is well structured in canvas and he offers extra credit opportunities. Exams are also similar to the practice tests he gives. Take him, you won't regret it!
The best professor yet! I took ACC 201 and I hated it so I was scared going into 202 but he made me love managerial accounting. Gives lots of extra credit, tests are just like the online practices exams/homework. He goes over homework question in class. If you show up and take good notes and are prepared you will pass with an A.
Although you may have to put in a good amount of effort for his classes, he is one of the few professors that genuinely care about his students' learning. His lectures may feel boring but the content is all essential and vital to succeeding on the exams. 10/10 would recommend
This prof is the absolute best to take for 202. Very clear assignments/exams that reflect exactly what he teaches in class. There is a textbook but never opened it. Attendance is graded but not mandatory. He truly cares about students doing well and wants to entice people into the ACC major. And there's extra credit chances! As easy as you make it.
Siciliano was a very good professor. He provided multiple different teaching styles and his lectures were easy to digest. Exams are worth a ton but a bit of studying and a solid notecard won't fail you. Multiple extra credit opportunities available. Homework is straight forward. Participation is graded. Overall, I highly recommend taking his class.
Best professor that I have had in Accounting he really cares about his students and gives extra credit opportunities. Although his exams are worth a lot in the class he gives you a note card that you are allowed to use on the exams. Studying the ICA, ICES, Mastery Homework and Poll Everywhere are essential to doing good on his exams.
Amazing professor! Put in the work and ask him for questions. You got this!
The best professor I've ever met! Simply put, I love him!
Professor Siciliano makes ACC202 enjoyable. Exams align with practice tests, and there are plenty of extra credit opportunities. Unstuckstudy and the textbook are helpful study tools. Attend class, stay engaged, and you'll excel.
Mr. Siciliano is fun teacher that make accounting less boring to understand. Gives us resources to better understand accounting & ask us to participate. He is organized & understanding toward his students. He also gives extra credit, practice tools/assignment that help us to study better, and seeking feedback from his students.
Not only does Professor Siciliano provide an entertaining and accessible way to understand sometimes difficult accounting concepts, but he gives you tools to assess your own personal goals. His tips are useful (Pilot Frixion erasable pens). His syllabus and expectations are crystal clear, if you follow them, you'll have no issues.
Mr. Siciliano is the best ACC teacher I ever had, and he made it digestible with his materials for students to want to learn accounting information and give a lot of practice examples. It is best that you practice with ICE examples, mastery, and doing the homework assignment which help to study. Also provide resources for student to practice more.
i wish all of my professors cared as much as siciliano does. i never went to class after the first exam and he still remembered my name. everything you need to succeed is available online even if you miss class, notecards allowed on tests. as long as you practice and watch the lecture vids it's an easy A, but you def have to put in a bit of work!
Professor Siciliano cares for his students and ensures resources for the class (powerpoints, videos, etc.) are easily accessible on Canvas. He gives his students every opportunity to succeed in his class and also makes it a point to answer emails and Discord messages quickly. If you have the opportunity, take his class. You won't regret it.
One of the best profs I've had. He genuinely cares about you and your success, in and outside of the class. Lectures are available online, extra credit opportunities, and test reviews outside of class. Come to class everyday, go to the test reviews, and do any extra credit you can and you'll get a good grade, but you definitely have to put work in.
Professor Siciliano was one of my favorite professors for this year because his class was very interesting and straightforward. His in-class assignments and homework are directly connected to his exams so as long as you pay attention in class and do the homework thoroughly getting an A is not hard.
Scared me on the first day but he's actually by far the best professor I've had to date. I am not a big fan of accounting but this class made me appreciate how useful the material was, especially for personal finance. Tests are a learn-and-go type of thing; you get better after each one so really put the time in to studying and you'll do great.
Awesome professor. With the amount of extra credit it's practically impossible to fail this class if you put in even a little effort. Tests come directly from the practice test.
Professor Siciliano is a great instructor. From my experience, he was organized, always prepared, helpful, and understanding. I received an A in his class, and it was not difficult. Go to class, do the Hw, practice test, and take advantage of extra credit.
Professor Siciliano teaches the subject in a spirited fashion that keeps students engaged. He breaks down concepts to their core; he caters to visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning alike. Although students' grades are largely dependent on their test performance, he provides heaps of resources to foster success. I would take this course again.
Of all the professors I've had so far, I'd say Professor Siciliano tops the list. I wasn't a huge fan of accounting or any finance related thing for that matter but he managed to convince me otherwise. Everything he expects from you is outlined in the syllabus so no uncertainty. He's also got a little GenZ in him so he understood us quite well.
Professor Siciliano truly cares so much for his students, so if you just follow everything he tells you, you will be just fine. The way Professor Siciliano goes about this course, you truly are equipped to succeed. He gives you so many resources and advantages, he gives great lectures and keeps the attention of his students very effortlessly.
Very good and easy to understand
One of those rare generational type professors who not only gives you every tool you need to be successful but also great life tips. I really enjoyed taking his class and think he is a fantastic professor and even better human being! I will miss his class/lectures. Highly recommend Siciliano. He is the best professor at UNLV. I love this guy.
He is amazing. He explains things clearly, provides good examples, and makes it enjoyable. I even tutored this class because I understood it so well. You need to prepare beforehand and attend class. Also, you need to complete and understand the homework. He truly wants his students to succeed, so don't be shy asking him for help.
Literally one of my most favorite professors I've taken. Went in nervous for the course, came out extremely confident and achieved. Amazing lectures, extremely caring and accessible outside of class, and gives EVERYTHING you need to ace the course. Tests directly correlate with practice tests and homework, LOTS of extra credit opportunities.
He is very caring and clearly cares about the material he is teaching. Great professor and very helpful. It's easy to talk to him and reach him outside of class.
Professor Sicilano is a great professor! I was able to pass with an A and not take the final exam! He cares and it shows! Take your attendance seriously, attend the extra credit events and attend the test overviews on Friday! It really makes the difference!
PLEASE TAKE THIS AMAZING PROFESSOR! He does everything to ensure you success in the class. Take advantage of the extra credit! Attend every lecture, watch the preview videos. Lastly PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE. Formulas are given but they are useless if you don't know the main concepts! This class doesn't demand too much time outside of class.
Before taking this course, I was a bit nervous because of my last grade with 201 with a different professor. However, now after taking this course, I highly recommend student take him. He explains the materials very well and he will try to make students laugh with his jokes. He deeply cares about his students also. There is extra credit too!
Best ACC professor ever! He really takes time to make sure his students understand the concepts and prepares for the exams really good. There's extra credit assignments I recommend doing. Attendance does matter if you want to pass with an A!!! He makes understanding ACC 202 very very easy. Such an amazing and caring professor :)
one of the best professors at unlv always cares about his students and is very passionate.
Easily top 3 accounting teachers. Clear and concise on the grading criteria, three tests like any other class unless you make his 99% club. I did which saved me for my other classes. Class material is so easy to understand and gives chances for extra credit, some questions are very conceptual in the actual tests so you must be ready and study hard.
