Bro. Taylor was awesome. He wants to help you understand the material and takes time to answer everyone's questions. He's pretty funny and nerdy too. Seems a lot more humble than some of the other proffesors in the bio department. This is a difficult class but Bro. Taylor breaks it down well.

Brother Taylor is very passionate about what he does. It is very apparent in the way that he teaches. Don't get me wrong, this is a tough class, you will have to study A LOT! But having a professor who is willing to meet and talk with you about grades and help you improve makes it a lot easier!

A great guy, funny and quirky but helps you get all the material you need and even though it takes hard work, is a good class- you learn a lot from him.

Great professor! This was his first semester teaching this course so sometimes the lectures were a little scattered. But overall was very nice and easy to work with.

I loved this class because of the way Brother Taylor taught. He makes you think but provides good case study scenarios in class to prepare you for exam questions. He always puts in a lot of effort and resources to help you, you just need to take advantage of them. Go to tutoring regularly and take good notes and you'll be fine.

Professor Taylor has to be one of my all-time favorites. If you make an effort to get to know him, he will do his part and make sure that you do well in his class. If you struggle, his office hours are super useful as well. He is so kind and you can get a sense of how much he cares for his students.

BIO 180 was a hard class, but Brother Taylor is a great instructor. When I took this class, I did need to go to tutoring twice a week, but Brother Taylor was always clear about what you need to study. Hes super fun to talk to, and is usually willing to help out when youre struggling.

I enjoyed Brother Taylors class and he is a very genuine guy. He doesn't really teach anything, he just goes over questions in class which was helpful but be ready to do a lot of self teaching. If you stay caught up on lectures you will be fine with the workload. Great guy, great class.

Bro. Taylor is a great teacher and loves what he teaches. He really wants is students to succeed and will help you in any way you need. He sets up many hours that you can meet with him if needs be. This is a hard class but Bro. Taylor makes the concepts easier to undrstand.

Biology 264 is a rough class for most people, and Daniel Taylor is a person that you want helping you through it. He genuinely cares for his students and will put in the time and effort to help every one of his students individually. If you do the work and get some help, you will succeed.

Prof Taylor took over BIO 312 from Holyoak during my semester. Taylor has a great teaching style and is interactive and passionate about the content. He cares a lot about his students and their success. The course itself is BRUTAL. 5 Hard tests, homework every other day, etc. This might change since Taylor is taking over the class from Holyoak.

Brother Taylor seriously cares about his students and will do whatever he can to help them understand the subjects we cover in the class. The class is hard but it will be hard from any teacher you take it from. take bio 264 from Brother Taylor and you won't regret it.

This actually for Bio 312! Super nice guy. Definitely have to study hard for this class. Any detail could be in the quizzes and tests so they are a little difficult. However, lectures are super helpful so would recommend attending class.

Very good at helping you understand the subject, and is fun about teaching. If there was one thing I would change it's buffing out some technical problems I experienced during the semester.

This is a review for 312! Such a fun class and Brother Taylor is clearly passionate about what he teaches. His goal is not to test you but to teach you as much as he can. Brother Taylor is great at interacting with the class throughout the lecture and has a variety of teaching methods to help get the material across.

I LOVE BROTHER TAYLOR. His lectures are really interesting. The trick to his class is just to participate. Raise your hand and ask/ answer questions even when you feel dumb. He'll explain and clarify a million times over if he has too. Pay less attention to his quizzes and more to the videos and tutoring. Tutoring will carry you. I promise.

Professor Taylor was a great professor. I learned a lot in his class. He had lecture videos for extra learning on canvas, and he had us actively discuss the material with classmates during class. I enjoyed the class; sometimes it was difficult for me because he uses a lot of powerpoints, but it was an active learning class.

Brother Taylor is good at giving the information, and prepares you well with lots of information. He tends to go off topic slightly when talking about bugs, but that is his background. The issues with this class are with how the class is set up, but Brother Taylor is not in control of that.

Brother Taylor gives the most entertaining lectures that help me remember the concept that we are being taught! His examples of insects, help me on the test because he shares the most interesting facts that stay in my mind. He also cares about each student and wants to get to know you. I loved this class. This professor is so funny and really tries to help you to understand. He does not take attendance but I would suggest going to every class. This class is hard there is not much homework so it is mostly test grades. He will help you to prepare for every test and make sure you know what to expect.

Very good at explaining things thoroughly. Tells you exactly what is on the tests. He is the only professor for Bio181 that doesn't require attendance. The tests are a huge portion of your grade so make sure you do good on them.

Honestly I think Bro Taylor is a great bio 181 teacher! His explanations are always so clear and his lectures are very informative, if you go to class you will learn every time. Tests can be hard but if you study the material and go to tutoring you will pass.

Brother Taylor was honestly a really good professor who cared about his students. He is quite quirky and likes to talk about bugs a lot. But other than that he truly understands the material and tries to describe it as simply as he can.

for the class to make sense you lowkey have to watch/attend the lectures, brother Taylor didn't make attendance mandatory, at least for my class but I found his lectures helpful. when I didn't understand his lectures, I would attend office hours and he took the time to clear things up for me. he also likes bugs and talks about them A LOT

Brother Taylor is an excellent professor. In this class, we covered genetics, evolution, and ecology. He definitely is most passionate about ecology (particularly bugs... he loves bugs so much!) He was willing to answer lots of questions during lecture and worked to facilitate discussion amongst students during class.

Brother Taylor is a good guy there is a couple of things I don't like about how he teaches but overall he's pretty chill. He helps with the short answer on the tests to really understand it.

His class was super interesting and he is very good at helping you understand through examples. Very interactive and excited to teach. The graders for the assignments can be a little rough at times, but they grade every BIO181. The class is challenging, but study and you'll be just fine.

All of the information that is needed for the test is taught in class. And he teaches it very well, it always make sense. You always know what you need to know for the tests. I think he is also a funny and personable teacher.

Brother Taylor is such an amazing person. He is an entomologist so most of his examples are bugs which helped me remember the concepts because of how shocking they were. He is also available outside of class and responses to emails pretty fast. He is one of the only professors that doesn't use Tophat for his lectures or requires class attendance.

Professor Taylor is a very genuine, nice guy. Bio181 itself is an odd course, and he tries his best to teach the material in a way that prepares you for the exams. My only grievance is how heavy the tests are, you NEED to study and you NEED to perform well on each test, or you will end up with a low grade. Brother Taylor is a very fair grader IMO

Brother Taylor is an amazing teacher. The class is hard because it's a biology class. Attendance isn't taken, but if you miss class, you're behind and miss important things. Brother Taylor writes the tests so he only teaches what's going to be on the test, he'll say "you don't need to know that it's not on the test" if you ask a question like that.

He is hands down one of the best professors at BYUI. He is a very good teacher, communicator, and is accessible for additional help. If you take bio181 you need to take it from Brother Taylor. His lectures are hilarious, he is very interactive with the students and makes the material easy to understand. If I could give him a 6/5 I would!

Brother Taylor is a nice guy and it's obvious that he truly cares about us. Everything that you need to know is taught in the lectures and he sometimes provides additional practice. I studied about 2 hours a week and finished the semester with an A. I would say that it's easier than bio180.

He helps you understand the material by explaining it in different and unique ways, usually pertaining to bugs. He has a great sense of humor and his high energy makes learning about biology fun and exciting.

Brother Taylor is really funny! Definitely cares about your success, but you need to take the time to get a grade in the class. His lectures are great, and he involves the class very well, but he does expect you to take initiative in your grades and understanding. He has plenty of office hours and is easy to work with. Would take his class again.

Professor Taylor knows what he is talking about and will let you know what is necessary for exams and what things you don't need to know. Unit two is the hardest because it is very factual but as long as you study the class isn't too bad. You can really tell that Professor Taylor loves to teach Bio181 especially when he gets to talk about bugs!

Brother Taylor is hands down one of the best professors I have ever had. He is very clear in how he teaches and you can tell he actually cares about you and the grade you receive. He wants all of us to succeed in his class and we did that every test. His class always had the highest average score on every test in the semester. A must take teacher!!

I would say that professor Daniel Taylor is overall a good teacher. He demonstrates a great deal of knowledge about biology, something that I appreciate about having him as a teacher. He is sometimes not very clear in what he says while lecturing. He occasionally shows nervousness, especially if he doesn't feel confident in a specific topic.

Brother Taylor is a good teacher who just wants his students to succeed. Although this is the case, this course is very independent in overall understanding. If you have questions he is more than willing to answer them. His lectures tell you exactly what you need to know for the exams even though they are optional.

Brother Taylor is one of my favorite professors on campus! He truly cares about his students, and his goal is to help you succeed in the class. BIO 181 was not my favorite class BY FAR! The exams are really heavy, and the homework assignments were a pain, however Brother Taylor did an amazing job at preparing us for all of it.

I was really glad I had this course with Brother Taylor. He explains concepts well in his lectures, and he would help you if the TA's were off on grading your assignments. He's accessible outside of class if you sign up for his office hours and he doesn't penalize for missing class on assignments like other professors. Man knows his bugs too

He definitely is meant for this class. His love of bugs and passions is a great fit. Just do the extra videos and side hw and you'll be fine. He goes pretty quickly through the material so make sure to ask questions.

You have one homework assignment per class period and a weekly quiz. The homework is only worth 5 points and quizzes are worth 10, so the unit exams make up a big portion of your grade

Great professor! You want Brother Taylor as your BIO 181 professor. Taught straightforward lectures for us to succeed on exams. He was very lenient about grading and often gave us full points for assignments when we disagreed with the TA's grading.

Brother Taylor is awesome. He's an asset to BYU-I because of his approach to the topics of evolution, genetics, and climate change in this course. He offers to meet together if you ever struggle with bridging a scientific principle with your faith. He gives engaging lectures and if you pay attention in class, you'll do well in this course.

Brother Taylor is a great professor! I had him for Bio181 and he did great, he has a passion for ecology so that unit was very exciting. He has less enthusiasm about other things in the course but he knows it well enough to teach it well and clearly. He does a great job preparing students for the exams. I would for sure take another class from him.

Bro. Taylor is in my top 3 favorite professors of all time. He cares about his students, teaches and tests fairly, and wants you to succeed. I would take him again in a heartbeat. When he tells you you're wrong, don't take it personally like some people here did. He wants you to know when you're right and wrong, as all professors should.

Really great guy who cares more about his students than any professor I've met. The material can be kind of confusing, the online powerpoints don't match up with lectures at all so it can be confusing what is being tested on or not. Lots of material crammed into only a few tests so it can feel like a lot. He's willing to answer any questions though

This was my all time favorite class at BYUI. He is such a great person and you can feel that he genuinely wants to help you succeed. You will do well if you participate in class and attend tutoring hours. I would recommend using the study guides and asking questions to clarify as much as you can. BRO TAYLOR IS AWESOME!!!

Bio181 was a relatively easy class in my opinion and brother Taylor made it even easier because of his ability to teach the material well. It's obvious that he is passionate about teaching and about helping students feel like they belong. Highly recommend him!

Brother Taylor is such a kind and caring teacher. He made bio 181 easy with his lectures, esp since he goes over the application of concepts. If you have to take this class, take it from him. My only con with this class, which was out of his control, is how test heavy the class is. (4 tests totaling up to about 75% of your grade.)

Great lecturer with strong knowledge of Biology. However, he never replied to any of my 15+ emails. TA grading was overly harsh and inconsistent, many classmates agreed. I had to visit office hours often to get things resolved. Helpful in person, but communication and grading policies need improvement.

Brother Taylor was awesome. I wasn't given extra credit for this review. He lets us know what we actually need to know for the exam. If you know everything on the study guide you will do well on the test. Tutoring recommended. His lectures are great. He is very open to meeting with you if you are struggling. Very kind and caring.

He is amazing at involving the gospel in lectures and is always willing to meet. He has weekly quizzes that are really helpful in making sure you don't get behind on the material. 3 unit exams, and then the final.

Brother Taylor is absolutely amazing. He cares about the students so much and he teaches so clearly. He only teaches the test unlike the other Bio181 professors. He doesn't do the useless homework that the other teachers do. His main goal is for you to be successful and to do well on the tests. If you are taking BIO181, take it from Brother Taylor.
